³ When I kept silence, my bones wasted away Through my groaning all the day long.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: My moisture was changed as with the drought of summer. Selah

⁵ I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity did I not hide: I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah

³ Sing to him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

⁴ For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are faithful.

⁵ He loves mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

⁴ Day and night, Yahweh, you SYN punished me severely. My strength drained away like water that ◄ evaporates/dries up► on a hot summer day.

⁵ Then/Finally I admitted/confessed my sins to you; I stopped trying to hide them. (Think about that!) I said to myself, “I will confess to Yahweh the wrong things that I have done.” And when I confessed them, you forgave me, so now I ◄am no longer guilty/will no longer be punished► for my sins.

⁴ For the weight of your hand was on me day and night; my body became dry like the earth in summer. (Selah.)

⁵ I made my wrongdoing clear to you, and did not keep back my sin. I said, I will put it all before the Lord; and you took away my wrongdoing and my sin. (Selah.)

³ When I kept silence, my bones waxed old, through my groaning all the day long.

⁵ I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity I covered not; I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah, and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

³ Sing to him a new canticle, sing well unto him with a loud noise.

⁴ For the word of the Lord is right, and all his works are done with faithfulness.

⁵ He loveth mercy and judgment; the earth is full of the mercy of the Lord.

³ When I kept quiet, my body fell apart as I groaned in distress all day long.

⁴ You beat me day and night, my strength dried up as in the heat of summer. Selah.

⁵ Then I confessed my sins to you. I did not hide the wrongs I had done. I said to myself, “I will confess my disobedience to the Lord,” and you forgave the guilt of my sins. Selah.

³ When I helde my tongue, my bones consumed, or when I roared all the day,

⁴ (For thine hand is heauie vpon me, day and night: and my moysture is turned into ye drought of summer. Selah)

⁵ Then I acknowledged my sinne vnto thee, neither hid I mine iniquitie: for I thought, I will confesse against my selfe my wickednesse vnto the Lord, and thou forgauest the punishment of my sinne. Selah.

³ When I kept silence, my bones wore away through my groaning all the day long.

⁴ For day and night Thy hand was heavy upon me; my sap was turned as in the droughts of summer. Selah

⁵ I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid; I said: 'I will make confession concerning my transgressions unto the LORD' — and Thou, Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah

⁴ For by day and night lay thy hand heavily upon me: my life's moisture hath been changed through the droughts of summer. Selah.

⁵ My sin do I ever acknowledge unto thee, and my iniquity have I not covered up. I said, I will make confession because of my transgressions unto the Lord: and thou truly forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

³ Previously I did badly and I did not tell God about it. Because of that I kept on crying all day long, I was exhausted by the crying.

⁴ Day by day, night by night, you made it hard for me, Lord. I was weakened completely. In the summer the sun pierces the water and dries it up. In that same way you growled at me, Lord, and I became very weak and thin, I nearly died.

⁵ Then I told you true, like that I had done badly. I did not try to hide from you, I decided I would tell you the whole story, I told you I was ashamed of myself. Because of that you let me off completely.

³ While I kept silence, my bones were wasted, By reason of my groaning all the day long.

⁴ For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me; My moisture dried up, as in summer's drought.

⁵ At length I acknowledged to thee my sin, And did not hide my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgression to the LORD;” And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin! Pause.

³ When I held my peace, my bones wore away with my endless groaning;

⁴ for day and night did your hand lie heavy upon me. The sap of my life was dried up as with fierce summer-heat. Selah

⁵ I began to acknowledge my sin, not concealing my guilt; and the moment I vowed to confess to the Lord my transgression, then you yourself did pardon the guilt of my sin. Selah

³ When I held my peace, my bones wore away with my endless groaning;

⁴ for day and night did your hand lie heavy upon me. The sap of my life was dried up as with fierce summer-heat. Selah

⁵ I began to acknowledge my sin, not concealing my guilt; and the moment I vowed to confess to the Lord my transgression, then you yourself did pardon the guilt of my sin. Selah

³ When I kept silence, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

⁵ Then I acknowledged my sin to you, and I no longer hid my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh,” and you forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah

⁴ For by day and night thine hand was made grievous on me; I am turned in my wretchedness, while the thorn is set in.

⁵ I made my sin known to thee; and I hid not my unrightfulness. I said, I shall acknowledge against me mine unrightfulness to the Lord; and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.

³ For I was still, my bones waxed eld; while I cried all day. (For when I kept silent or For when I did not confess my sins, my bones grew old; while I cried all day long.)

⁴ For by day and night thine hand was made grievous on me (or And day and night thy hand was heavy upon me); I am turned in my wretchedness, while the thorn is set in.

⁵ (Then) I made my sin known to thee; and I hid not my unrightfulness. I said, I shall acknowledge against me mine unrightfulness to the Lord; and thou hast forgiven the wickedness of my sin.

³ When I have kept silence, become old have my bones, Through my roaring all the day.

⁴ When by day and by night Thy hand is heavy upon me, My moisture hath been changed Into the droughts of summer. Selah.

⁵ My sin I cause Thee to know, And mine iniquity I have not covered. I have said, 'I confess concerning My transgressions to Jehovah,' And Thou — Thou hast taken away, The iniquity of my sin. Selah.
