³⁷ Whosoever shall receive one of such little children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

³⁸ John said unto him, Teacher, we saw one casting out demons in thy name; and we forbade him, because he followed not us.

³⁹ But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man who shall do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ For he that is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink, because ye are Christ’s, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

⁴² And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it were better for him if a great millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

⁴³ And if thy hand cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee to enter into life maimed, rather than having thy two hands to go into hell, into the unquenchable fire.

⁴⁵ And if thy foot cause thee to stumble, cut it off: it is good for thee to enter into life halt, rather than having thy two feet to be cast into hell.

³⁷ “Those who, because they love me, welcome a child like this one, God considers that they are welcoming me. So it is as though they are also welcoming God, who sent me.”

³⁸ John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone who was expelling demons, ◄ claiming he had authority from you to do that/while telling people that you have told him to do it►. So we told him to stop doing it because he was not one of us disciples.”

³⁹ Jesus said, “Do not tell him not to do that! For no one will speak evilly about me just after he performs a miracle while saying that I have told him to do it.

⁴⁰ Furthermore, those who are not opposing us are trying to achieve the same goals that we are.

⁴¹ Also think about this: Those who belong to me who help you in any way, even if they just give you a cup of water to drink because you follow me, the Messiah, will certainly be rewarded by God!”

⁴² Jesus also said, “But if you cause someone who believes in me to sin, God will severely punish you, even if that person is socially unimportant like this little child. If someone tied a heavy stone around your neck and you were thrown {and threw you} into the sea, you would consider that was a severe punishment. But God will punish you more severely than that if you cause a person who believes in me to sin.

⁴³ So, if you are wanting to use one of MTY, PRS your hands to sin, stop using your hand! Even if you have to cut your hand off and throw it away to avoid sinning, do it HYP! It is good that you not sin and that you live eternally, even though you lack one of your hands while you are here on earth. But it is not good that you sin and as a result God throws your whole body into hell. There the fires never go out!

⁴⁵ If you are wanting to use one of PRS your feet to sin, stop using your foot! Even if you have to cut off your foot to avoid sinning, do it HYP! It is good that you not sin and live eternally, even though you lack one of your feet while you are here on earth. But it is not good that you sin and go to hell.

³⁸ John said to him, Master, we saw one driving out evil spirits in your name: and we said that he might not, because he is not one of us.

³⁹ But Jesus said, Say not so: for there is no man who will do a great work in my name, and be able at the same time to say evil of me.

⁴⁰ He who is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ Whoever gives you a cup of water, because you are Christ's, truly I say to you, he will in no way be without his reward.

⁴² And whoever is a cause of trouble to one of these little ones who have faith in me, it would be better for him if a great stone was put round his neck and he was dropped into the sea.

⁴³ And if your hand is a cause of trouble to you, let it be cut off; it is better for you to go into life with one hand than to have two hands and go into hell, into the eternal fire.

⁴⁵ And if your foot is a cause of trouble to you, let it be cut off: it is better for you to go into life with one foot than to have two feet and go into hell.

³⁹ But Jesus said, Forbid him not; for there is no one who shall do a miracle in my name, and be able soon after to speak ill of me;

⁴⁰ for he who is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye are Christ's, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

⁴² And whosoever shall be a snare to one of the little ones who believe in me, it were better for him if a millstone were hung about his neck, and he cast into the sea.

⁴³ And if thy hand serve as a snare to thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having thy two hands to go away into hell, into the fire unquenchable;

⁴⁴ where their worm dies not, and the fire is not quenched.

⁴⁵ And if thy foot serve as a snare to thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life lame, than having thy two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire unquenchable;

³⁷ John answered him, saying: Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, who followeth not us, and we forbade him.

³⁸ But Jesus said: Do not forbid him. For there is no man that doth a miracle in my name, and can soon speak ill of me.

³⁹ For he that is not against you, is for you.

⁴⁰ For whosoever shall give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because you belong to Christ: amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.

⁴¹ And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

⁴² And if thy hand scandalize thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into unquenchable fire:

⁴³ Where there worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.

⁴⁴ And if thy foot scandalize thee, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter lame into life everlasting, than having two feet, to be cast into the hell of unquenchable fire:

⁴⁵ Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished.

³⁷ “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me, but Him who sent Me.”

³⁸ Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow with us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.”

³⁹ But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name that will be able to soon speak evil of Me.

⁴⁰ For he who is not against you is for you.

⁴¹ For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you are Christ's, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.

⁴² “But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were around his neck, and he be cast into the sea.

⁴³ If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It would be better for you to enter into life maimed, than to enter having two hands, to go into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched—

³⁹ But Jesus said: “Do not forbid him, because no one who works a miracle in my name can soon afterward speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ For he who is not against you is for you.

⁴¹ Further, whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Christ's, I tell you with certainty, he will by no means lose his reward.

⁴² “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe into me to fall, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea.

⁴³ Further, if your hand is causing you to fall, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into the Life maimed than having both hands to go away into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire—

⁴⁴ where ‘their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched.’

⁴⁵ And if your foot is causing you to fall, cut it off; it is better for you to enter into the Life lame than having both feet to be thrown into Gehenna, into the unquenchable fire—

³⁷ “Whoever welcomes a child like this in my name, welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me doesn't welcome me but the one who sent me.”

³⁸ John said to Jesus, “Rabbi, we saw someone driving out demons in your name. We tried to stop him because he wasn't one of us.”

³⁹ “Don't stop him,” Jesus replied. “For no one who is doing miracles in my name can curse me at the same time.

⁴⁰ Anyone who is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ Anyone who gives a cup of water to you in my name, because you belong to Christ, won't lose their reward, believe me.

⁴² But if anyone leads one of these little ones who trust in me into sin, it would be better for them if they were thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around their neck.

⁴³ If your hand leads you to sin, cut it off! It's better to enter eternal life as a cripple than to go with both hands into Gehenna, into the fire that can't be put out.

⁴⁵ If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off! It's better to enter eternal life lame than to be thrown into Gehenna still having two feet.

³⁷ Whosoeuer shall receiue one of such litle children in my Name, receiueth me: and whosoeuer receiueth mee, receiueth not me, but him that sent me.

³⁸ Then Iohn answered him, saying, Master, we sawe one casting out deuils by thy Name, which followeth not vs, and we forbade him, because he followeth vs not.

³⁹ But Iesus sayd, Forbid him not: for there is no man that can doe a miracle by my Name, that can lightly speake euill of me.

⁴⁰ For whosoeuer is not against vs, is on our part.

⁴¹ And whosoeuer shall giue you a cup of water to drinke for my Names sake, because ye belong to Christ, verely I say vnto you, he shall not lose his rewarde.

⁴² And whosoeuer shall offend one of these litle ones, that beleeue in me, it were better for him rather, that a milstone were hanged about his necke, and that he were cast into the sea.

⁴³ Wherefore, if thine hand cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life, maimed, then hauing two hands, to goe into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched,

⁴⁴ Where their worme dyeth not, and the fire neuer goeth out.

⁴⁵ Likewise, if thy foote cause thee to offend, cut it off: it is better for thee to go halt into life, then hauing two feete, to be cast into hell, into the fire that neuer shalbe quenched,

³⁸ John told Jesus, “Teacher, we saw a man, he was expelling demons from people in your name. That man does not belong to our mob. After that we told him not to do like that.”

³⁹ Jesus replied, “Don't prevent him. Truly those who have done a good big thing in my name will not on another day say something bad about me to others.

⁴⁰ Those who are not criticisers of us, they are (our) defenders.

⁴¹ I tell you this word truly, others who learn about you that you belong to me, and because of that will do a small good thing to you, truly in response God will do good to them.”

⁴³ And if thy hand cause thee to fall away, cut it off. It is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having the two hands to go away into hell, into the fire that is unquenchable.

⁴⁵ And if thy foot is causing thee to fall away, cut it off; it is better for thee to enter into life lame, than having the two feet to be cast into hell.

³⁸ John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw a man using your power by saying your name to send bad spirits out of people. He’s not one of our mob, so we told him to stop.”

³⁹ But Jesus said, “No. Don’t stop him. If somebody uses my power by saying my name to do good and powerful things for people, he can’t soon turn around and say bad things about me.

⁴⁰ You see, if somebody is not trying to block us, well really, he is on our side.

⁴¹ And if somebody knows you are my follower, and so he tries to help you, even if he just gives you a drink of water, God will be sure to pay him with something good for that good thing he did.

⁴² But, if a little one trusts me and somebody gets him to do something bad, God will properly punish that person. Suppose somebody will get a big rock and tie it to that person’s neck and throw him into the sea and drown him, that will be bad for him, but not as bad as the trouble God will give him for getting that little one to go wrong.

⁴³ And if there is something that gets you to go wrong, you have to do something about it. If your hand gets you to do something bad you have to stop it, like as if you cut off your hand. It is better for you to live for ever with only one hand than go to hell with 2 hands. That fire in hell never goes out.

⁴⁵ Just the same, if your foot takes you the wrong way, to get you to do something bad, you have to stop it, like as if you cut off your foot. It is better for you to have only one foot and live for ever than go to hell with 2 feet.

³⁸ Iohn answered him sayinge: Master we sawe one castynge out devyls in thy name which foloweth not vs and we forbade him because he foloweth vs not.

³⁹ But Iesus sayde forbid him not. For ther is no man that shall do a miracle in my name that can lightlyge speake evyll of me.

⁴⁰ Whosoever is not agaynste you is on youre parte.

⁴¹ And whosoever shall geve you a cuppe of water to drinke for my names sake because ye belonge to Christe verely I saye vnto you he shall not loose his rewarde.

⁴² And whosoever shall offende one of these lytelons that beleve in me it were better for him that a mylstone were hanged aboute his necke and that he he were cast into the see:

⁴³ wherfore yf thy hande offende the cut him of. It is better for the to entre into lyffe maymed then havynge two hondes goo into hell into fire that never shalbe quenched

⁴⁴ where there worme dyeth not and the fyre never goeth oute.

⁴⁵ Lykewyse yf thy fote offende the cut him of. For it is better for the to goo halt into lyfe then havynge two fete to be cast into hell into fyre that never shalbe quenched:
