¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them that are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which ye learned: and turn away from them.

¹⁸ For they that are such serve not our Lord Christ, but their own belly; and by their smooth and fair speech they beguile the hearts of the innocent.

¹⁹ For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I rejoice therefore over you: but I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple unto that which is evil.

²⁰ And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²¹ Timothy my fellow-worker saluteth you; and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.

²² I Tertius, who write the epistle, salute you in the Lord.

²³ Gaius my host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the treasurer of the city saluteth you, and Quartus the brother.

²⁵ Now to him that is able to stablish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which hath been kept in silence through times eternal,

¹⁷ My fellow believers, I exhort you that you beware of those people who are causing divisions among you and who cause people to turn away from God MTY because they teach things that are contrary to the message about Christ that you have learned (OR, that others taught you). Keep away from such people!

¹⁸ They do not serve our Lord Christ! On the contrary, they only want to satisfy their own desires MTY! Also, by all the eloquent things that they say DOU they deceive those people who do not realize that their teaching is false.

¹⁹ Believers everywhere know that you have paid attention to the good message about Christ, with the result that I rejoice about you. But I also want you to be wise, with the result that you do what is good. I also want you to avoid doing what is evil.

²⁰ If you avoid people who teach what is false, what will soon happen MET will be as though God, who causes us to be peaceful, will be crushing Satan under your feet! I pray that our Lord Jesus will continue to act kindly towards you.

²¹ Timothy, who works with me, and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, who are my fellow Jews, want you to know that they are ◄sending their greetings to/thinking fondly of► you.

²² I, Tertius, one who belongs to the Lord, also want you to know that I am ◄sending my greetings to/thinking fondly of► you. I am writing this letter as Paul tells me what to write for him.

²³ I, Paul, am staying in the house of Gaius, and the whole congregation here meets in his house. He also wants you to know that he is ◄sending his greetings to/thinking fondly of► you. Erastus, the treasurer of this city, also wants you to know that he is ◄sending his greetings to/thinking fondly of► you. Our fellow believer Quartus also ◄sends his greetings to you./says he is thinking fondly of you.►

²⁵ As I proclaim the good message about Jesus Christ, I tell about God, the one who is able to strengthen you spiritually. I also proclaim the truth that was not revealed {which God did not reveal} in all previous ages/times

¹⁷ Now I beseech you, brethren, to mark them who make dissensions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned, and avoid them.

¹⁸ For they that are such, serve not Christ our Lord, but their own belly; and by pleasing speeches and good words, seduce the hearts of the innocent.

¹⁹ For your obedience is published in every place. I rejoice therefore in you. But I would have you to be wise in good, and simple in evil.

²⁰ And the God of peace crush Satan under your feet speedily. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²¹ Timothy, my fellow labourer, saluteth you, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen.

¹⁷ Now I'm pleading with you my fellow-believers: watch out for those who cause arguments and confuse people about the teachings you learned. Stay away from them!

¹⁸ These people are not serving Christ our Lord but their own appetites, and by their smooth-talking and pleasant words they deceive the minds of unsuspecting people.

¹⁹ Everyone knows how faithful you are. This makes me really happy. However, I want you to be wise about what's good, and innocent of anything bad.

²⁰ The God of peace will soon break the power of Satan and make him subject to you. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

²¹ Timothy my co-worker sends his greetings, as do Lucius, Jason, and Sosipater, my fellow-countrymen.

¹⁸ For they that are such, serue not the Lord Iesus Christ, but their owne bellies, and with faire speach and flattering deceiue the heartes of the simple.

¹⁷ Listen, my friends. I tell you this really straight. You’ve got to be really careful about people that make you split up and argue with each other. Remember that you heard the true message about Jesus Christ and you learned to follow his road, but there are some people that want you to leave that road and go another way. They tell you a different story. That is the way they make you argue with each other. So don’t listen to them. Keep away from them.

¹⁸ They don’t work for our leader, Jesus Christ, but they just work for themselves. They try to trick people. They talk really nice to people and tell them that they are good. They do this to get whatever they want for themselves. They trick the people that don’t wake up to them.

¹⁹ But don’t let them trick you. Everyone knows that you do whatever God wants, so I’m happy about you. But I also want to tell you to be careful. I want you to understand the things that are good, and don’t even think about doing the things that are bad.

²⁰ God is the one that makes us good and quiet inside ourselves. He will soon beat the boss of the devils, called Satan. You will win, and Satan will have to lie down under your feet. I ask our leader, Jesus, to be really good to you.

²⁵ God is really great and powerful so everybody has to tell him he is good. He can make you strong. This is his message. It is the good news about Jesus Christ. A long time ago God decided to get everybody to believe in him and do whatever he wants, both Jewish people and you that are not Jewish. But at first he kept this a secret and just got the Jewish people to follow him. Then he got the men that wrote his book to tell ahead of time about you people that are not Jewish. Now his good news about Jesus makes it clear that everybody everywhere can trust him, and they can do whatever he wants. God is the only one that can think good enough to make it all work out like that. So everybody has to tell God and Jesus Christ, “You are great.” They have always got to do this, for ever. From Paul

²³ Gaius my host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.

²⁴ The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

²⁵ Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which hath been kept secret since the world began,

¹⁷ Now I beg you, brothers, look out for those who are causing the divisions and occasions of stumbling, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and turn away from them.

¹⁸ For those who are such don’t serve our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, but their own belly; and by their smooth and flattering speech they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

¹⁹ For your obedience has become known to all. I rejoice therefore over you. But I desire to have you wise in that which is good, but innocent in that which is evil.

²⁰ And the God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah be with you.

²⁵ And honour and glory be to him, that is mighty to confirm you by my gospel, and preaching of Jesus Christ, by the revelation of mystery held still, that is, not showed, in times ever-lasting;

¹⁷ But, brethren, I pray you, that ye espy them that make dissensions and hurtings or offences, besides the doctrine that ye have learned, and bow away from them.

¹⁸ For such men serve not to the Lord Christ, but to their womb, (or For such men do not serve the Lord Messiah, but their own bellies), and by sweet words and blessings deceive the hearts of innocent men.

¹⁹ But your obedience is published into every place, therefore I have joy in you. But I will (or I desire), that ye be wise in good thing(s), and simple in evil (things).

²⁵ And honour and glory be to him, that is mighty to confirm you by my gospel, and (the) preaching of Jesus Christ, by the revelation of (the) mystery held still, in times everlasting; Forsooth to him, that is mighty to confirm you by my gospel, and (the) preaching of Jesus Christ, after the revelation of (the) mystery holden still, that is, not showed, in times everlasting;

¹⁷ And I call upon you, brethren, to mark those who the divisions and the stumbling-blocks, contrary to the teaching that ye did learn, are causing, and turn ye away from them;

¹⁸ for such our Lord Jesus Christ do not serve, but their own belly; and through the good word and fair speech they deceive the hearts of the harmless,

¹⁹ for your obedience did reach to all; I rejoice, therefore, as regards you, and I wish you to be wise, indeed, as to the good, and harmless as to the evil;

²⁰ and the God of the peace shall bruise the Adversary under your feet quickly; the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen!
