² and they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown;

³ and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and Jehovah is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the assembly of Jehovah?

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:

⁵ and he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, In the morning Jehovah will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he shall choose will he cause to come near unto him.

⁶ This do: take you censers, Korah, and all his company;

⁷ and put fire in them, and put incense upon them before Jehovah to-morrow: and it shall be that the man whom Jehovah doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.

⁸ And Moses said unto Korah, Hear now, ye sons of Levi:

² and rose up before Moses, and two hundred and fifty men of the sons of Israel, chiefs of the assembly, chosen councillors, and men of renown.

³ They rose up against Moses and Aaron, and said, Let it be enough for you that all the congregation are holy, and the Lord is among them; and why do ye set up yourselves against the congregation of the Lord?

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell on his face.

⁵ And he spoke to Core and all his assembly, saying, God has visited and known those that are his and who are holy, and has brought them to himself; and whom he has chosen for himself, he has brought to himself.

⁶ This do ye: take to yourselves censers, Core and all his company;

⁷ and put fire on them, and put incense on them before the Lord to-morrow; and it shall come to pass that the man whom the Lord has chosen, he shall be holy: let it be enough for you, ye sons of Levi.

⁸ And Moses said to Core, Hearken to me, ye sons of Levi.

³ And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?

³ They rose up against Moses and Aaron, and said, Let it be enough for you that all the congregation are holy, and the Lord is among them; and why do you° set up yourselves against the congregation of the Lord?

⁸ And Moses said unto Korah, Hear now, ye sons of Levi:

² Korah and those other three men incited 250 other people who were leaders among the Israeli people to join them in rebelling against Moses/me.

³ They came together to criticize Aaron and Moses/me. They said to them/us, “You two are using more authority than you should! Yahweh has set apart all of us Israeli people, and he is with/helping all of us. So why do you act as though you are more important than the rest of us people who belong to Yahweh RHQ?”

⁴ When Moses/I heard what they were saying, he/I prostrated himself/myself on the ground.

⁵ Then he/I said to Korah and those Israeli leaders who were with Korah, “Tomorrow morning Yahweh will show us whom he has chosen to be his priest, and who is holy and allowed to come near to him. Yahweh will permit only those whom he chooses to come into his presence.

⁶ So Korah, tomorrow you and those who are with you must prepare your pans to burn incense.

⁷ Then you must light a fire in them and burn the incense in the presence of Yahweh. Then we will see which one of us Yahweh has chosen to be his holy servant. It is you men who are descendants of Levi who are trying to use more authority than you should!”

⁸ Then Moses/I spoke again to Korah. He/I said, “You men who are descendants of Levi, listen to me!

² and rose up before Moses, and two hundred and fifty men of the sons of Israel, chiefs of the assembly, chosen councillors, and men of renown.

³ They rose up against Moses and Aaron, and said, Let it be enough for you that all the congregation are holy, and the Lord is amongst them; and why do you° set up yourselves against the congregation of the Lord?

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell on his face.

³ They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and the LORD is amongst them! Why do you lift yourselves up above the LORD’s assembly?”

⁸ Moses said to Korah, “Hear now, you sons of Levi!

² And came before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty chiefs of the people, men of good name who had a place in the meeting of the people.

³ They came together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, You take overmuch on yourselves, seeing that all the people are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them; why then have you put yourselves in authority over the people of the Lord?

⁴ And Moses, hearing this, went down on his face;

⁵ And he said to Korah and his band, In the morning the Lord will make clear who are his, and who is holy, and who may come near him: the man of his selection will be caused to come near him.

⁶ So do this: let Korah and all his band take vessels for burning perfumes;

⁷ And put spices on the fire in them before the Lord tomorrow; then the man marked out by the Lord will be holy: you take overmuch on yourselves, you sons of Levi.

⁸ And Moses said to Korah, Give ear now, you sons of Levi:

² and they rose up against Moses, with two hundred and fifty men of the children of Israel, princes of the assembly, summoned to the council, men of renown;

³ and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, It is enough; for all the assembly, all of them are holy, and Jehovah is among them; and why do ye lift up yourselves above the congregation of Jehovah?

⁴ When Moses heard this, he fell on his face.

⁵ And he spoke to Korah and to all his band, saying, Even to-morrow will Jehovah make known who is his, and who is holy; and he will cause him to come near to him; and him whom he has chosen, him will he cause to come near to him.

⁶ This do: take you censers, Korah, and all his band,

⁷ and put fire therein, and lay incense thereon before Jehovah to-morrow; and it shall be that the man whom Jehovah doth choose, he shall be holy. It is enough, ye sons of Levi!

⁸ And Moses said to Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi!

² Rose up against Moses, and with them two hundred and fifty others of the children of Israel, leading men of the synagogue, and who in the time of assembly were called by name.

³ And when they had stood up against Moses and Aaron, they said: Let it be enough for you, that all the multitude consisteth of holy ones, and the Lord is among them: Why lift you up yourselves above the people of the Lord?

⁴ When Moses heard this, he fell flat on his face:

⁵ And speaking to Core and all the multitude, he said: In the morning the Lord will make known who belong to him, and the holy he will join to himself: and whom he shall choose, they shall approach to him.

⁶ Do this therefore: Take every man of you your censers, thou Core, and all thy company.

⁷ And putting fire in them tomorrow, put incense upon it before the Lord: and whomsoever he shall choose, the same shall be holy: you take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.

⁸ And he said again to Core: Hear ye sons of Levi.

² They rebelled against Moses, and were joined by 250 well-respected Israelite leaders and members of the assembly.

³ They joined together in opposition to Moses and Aaron, telling them, “You've taken too much power for yourselves! Every one of the Israelites is holy, and the Lord is among them. So why do you set yourselves above the Lord's assembly?”

⁴ When Moses heard what they were saying, he fell facedown on the ground.

⁵ Then he told Korah and all those with him, “In the morning the Lord is going to make it clear who is his and who is holy, and allow that person to approach him. He will only allow whoever he chooses to approach him.

⁶ This is what you, Korah, and everyone with you are going to do. Take some incense burners,

⁷ and tomorrow put incense in them and set it on fire in the presence of the Lord. Then the man the Lord chooses is the one who is holy. It is you Levites who are taking too much power for yourselves!”

⁸ Moses also told Korah, “Listen, you Levites!

² And they rose vp against Moses, with certaine of the children of Israel, two hundreth and fiftie captaines of the assemblie, famous in the Congregation, and men of renoume,

³ Who gathered themselues together against Moses, and against Aaron, and sayde vnto them, Ye take too much vpon you, seeing all the Congregation is holie, euery one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherfore then lift ye your selues aboue the Congregation of the Lord?

⁴ But when Moses heard it, hee fell vpon his face,

⁵ And spake to Korah and vnto all his companie, saying, To morow the Lord will shew who is his, and who is holy, and who ought to approche neere vnto him: and whom he hath chosen, hee will cause to come neere to him.

⁶ This doe therefore, Take you censers, both Korah, and all his companie,

⁷ And put fire therein, and put incense in the before the Lord to morowe: and the man whome the Lord doeth chuse, the same shalbe holie: ye take too much vpon you, ye sonnes of Leui.

⁸ Againe Moses saide vnto Korah, Heare, I pray you, ye sonnes of Leui.

² and they rose up in face of Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty men; they were princes of the congregation, the elect men of the assembly, men of renown;

³ and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them: 'Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them; wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?'

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face.

⁵ And he spoke unto Korah and unto all his company, saying: 'In the morning the LORD will show who are His, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near unto Him; even him whom He may choose will He cause to come near unto Him.

³ And they assembled themselves against Moses, and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye assume too much; for the whole of the congregation are all of them holy, and the Lord is among them; wherefore then will you lift yourselves up above the congregation of the Lord?

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:

⁵ And he spoke unto Korach and unto all his company, saying, Tomorrow,—then will the Lord make known who is his, and who is holy, that he may cause them to come near unto him; and him whom he shall choose will he cause to come near unto him.

⁶ This do ye: Take yourselves censers, Korach and all his company;

⁷ And put therein fire, and put upon them incense before the Lord, tomorrow; and it shall be that the man whom the Lord will choose, he shall be the holy one; you assume too much, ye sons of Levi.

⁸ And Moses said unto Korach, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:

² and rose up before Moses, and two hundred and fifty men of the sons of Israel, chiefs of the assembly, chosen counselors, and men of renown.

³ They rose up against Moses and Aaron, and said, Let it be enough for you that all the congregation are holy, and the Lord is among them; and why do ye set up yourselves against the congregation of the Lord?

⁴ And when Moses heard it, he fell on his face.

⁵ And he spoke to Korah and all his assembly, saying, God has visited and known those that are his and who are holy, and has brought them to himself; and whom he has chosen for himself, he has brought to himself.

² And they rose up in the presence of Mosheh with (other) men of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty, chiefs of the congregation, who at the time of the convocation had been men of name.

³ And they gathered together against Mosheh, and against Aharon, and said to them, You are too great; for the whole of the congregation are all of them holy, and the Lord’s Shekinah dwelleth among them: wherefore then are you lifted up above the church (congregation) of the Lord?

⁴ And Mosheh heard, and fell upon his face.

⁵ And he spake with Korach, and with all the congregation, saying: In the morning the Lord will make blown who it is who pertaineth to Him, and who bath been consecrated to approach to His presence; and whosoever He shall appoint shall go near unto His service.

⁶ This do: Take you censers, Korach and all his congregation;

⁷ And put fire in them, and put sweet incense upon it before the Lord tomorrow: and the man whom the Lord will choose, he shall be holy. You have too much, sons of Levi.

⁸ And Mosheh said to Korach, Hear now, sons of Levi:

² They rose up before Moses Drawn out, with some of the children of Israel God prevails, two hundred fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown.

³ They assembled themselves together against Moses Drawn out and against Aaron Light-bringer, and said to them, “You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and Adonai is among them! Why do you lift yourselves up above Adonai ’s assembly?”

⁴ When Moses Drawn out sh'ma ·heard obeyed· it, he fell on his face.

⁵ He said to Korach Bald one, Frost and to all his company, “In the morning, Adonai will show who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near to him. Even him whom he shall choose, he will cause to come near to him.

⁶ Do this: take censers, Korach Bald one, Frost, and all his company;

⁷ and put fire in them, and put incense on them before Adonai tomorrow. It shall be that the man whom Adonai chooses, he shall be holy. You have gone too far, you sons of Levi United with!”

⁸ Moses Drawn out said to Korach Bald one, Frost, “Sh'ma ·Hear obey· now, you sons of Levi United with!

² They rose up against Moses, along with other men from the people of Israel, two hundred and fifty leaders of the community who were well-known members in the community.

³ They assembled themselves together to confront Moses and Aaron. They said to them, “You have gone too far! All the community is set apart, every one of them, and Yahweh is among them. Why do you lift up yourselves above the rest of Yahweh's community?”

⁴ When Moses heard that, he lay facedown.

⁵ He spoke to Korah and to all those with him, “In the morning Yahweh will make known who belongs to him and who is set apart to him. He will bring that person near to him. The one he chooses he will bring near to himself.

⁶ Do this, Korah and all your group. Take censers

⁷ tomorrow and put fire and incense in them before Yahweh. The one whom Yahweh chooses, that man will be set apart to Yahweh. You have gone too far, you descendants of Levi.”

⁸ Again, Moses said to Korah, “Now listen, you descendants of Levi:

² They rose up before Moses, with some of the children of Israel, two hundred fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown.

³ They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, “You take too much on yourself, since all the congregation are holy, everyone of them, and Yahweh is among them! Why do you lift yourselves up above Yahweh’s assembly?”

⁴ When Moses heard it, he fell on his face.

² rose against Moses, and others of the sons of Israel, two hundred men and fifty, princes of the synagogue, and which were called by their names in the time of counsel.

³ And when these stood against Moses and Aaron, they said, Suffice it to you, for all the multitude is of holy men, and the Lord is in them; why be ye raised up presumptuously on the people of the Lord?

⁴ And when Moses had heard this, he fell down low upon his face.

⁵ And he spake to Korah, and to all the multitude; he said, Early the Lord shall make known which men pertain to him, and he shall apply, or draw, to him holy men; and they which he hath chosen, shall nigh to him.

⁶ Therefore do ye this thing; each man take his censer, thou Korah, and all thy counsel;

⁷ and tomorrow when fire is taken up, put ye incense above before the Lord, and whomever the Lord chooseth, he shall be holy. Ye sons of Levi be much raised.

⁸ And again Moses said to Korah, Ye sons of Levi, hear.

² rose against Moses, and (with them) others of the sons of Israel, two hundred men and fifty, princes of the synagogue, and which were called by their names in the time of counsel. (rose up against Moses, and with them were other Israelites, two hundred and fifty men, leaders of the synagogue, who were called by their names at the times of gathering together.)

³ And when these stood against Moses and Aaron, they said, Suffice it to you, for all the multitude is of holy men, and the Lord is in them; why be ye raised up presumptuously on the people of the Lord? (And when they stood against Moses and Aaron, they said, Suffice it to you, for all the multitude be holy men, and the Lord is with them; why be ye so presumptuously raised up over the Lord’s people?)

⁴ And when Moses had heard this, he fell down low upon his face (or he fell down on the ground).

⁵ And he spake to Korah, and to all the multitude; he said, Early the Lord shall make known which men pertain to him, and he shall apply, or draw, to him holy men; and they which he hath chosen, shall nigh to him. (And he spoke to Korah, and to all the multitude, and said, Early tomorrow the Lord shall make known which man pertaineth to him, for he shall draw to himself the man who is holy; and he whom he hath chosen, shall be near to him.)

⁶ Therefore do ye this thing; each man take his censer, thou Korah, and all thy counsel; (And so do ye this thing; each man take his censer, thou Korah, and all thy company, or all thy people;)

⁷ and tomorrow when fire is taken up, put ye incense above before the Lord (or and tomorrow put fire in them, and put ye incense on it before the Lord), and whomever the Lord chooseth, he shall be holy. Ye sons of Levi be much raised (up).

⁸ And again Moses said to Korah, Ye sons of Levi, hear.

² and othere of the sones of Israel, two hundryd men and fifti, prynces of the synagoge, and whiche weren clepid bi names in the tyme of counsel.

³ And whanne `thei hadden stonde ayens Moises and Aaron, thei seiden, Suffice it to you, for al the multitude is of hooly men, and the Lord is in hem; whi ben ye reisid on the puple of the Lord?

⁴ And whanne Moises hadde herd this, he felde lowe on the face.

⁵ And he spak to Chore, and to al the multitude; he seide, Eerli the Lord schal make knowun whiche perteynen to hym, and he schal applie to hym hooli men; and thei whiche he hath chose, schulen neiye to hym.

⁶ Therfor do ye this thing; ech man take his cencere, thou Chore, and al thi counsel;

⁷ and to morewe whanne fier is takun vp, putte ye encense aboue bifor the Lord, and whom euer the Lord chesith, he schal be hooli. Ye sones of Leuy ben myche reisid.

⁸ And eft Moises seide to Chore, Ye sones of Leuy, here.

² and they rise up before Moses, with men of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty, princes of the company, called of the convention, men of name,

³ and they are assembled against Moses and against Aaron, and say unto them, 'Enough of you! for all the company — all of them are holy, and in their midst is Jehovah; and wherefore do ye lift yourselves up above the assembly of Jehovah?'

⁴ And Moses heareth, and falleth on his face,

⁵ and he speaketh unto Korah, and unto all his company, saying, 'Morning! — and Jehovah is knowing those who are his, and him who is holy, and hath brought near unto Him; even him whom He doth fix on He bringeth near unto Him.

⁶ This do: take to yourselves censers, Korah, and all his company,

⁷ and put in them fire, and put on them perfume, before Jehovah to-morrow, and it hath been, the man whom Jehovah chooseth, he is the holy one; — enough of you, sons of Levi.'

⁸ And Moses saith unto Korah, 'Hear ye, I pray you, sons of Levi;
