Matthew 22:2-4 in English

² The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,

³ and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the marriage feast: and they would not come.

⁴ Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them that are bidden, Behold, I have made ready my dinner; my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come to the marriage feast.

³ And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.

⁴ Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.

³ When the feast was ready, the king sent his servants to tell the people who had been {whom he had} invited that it was time for them to come to the wedding feast. The servants did that. But the people who had been invited did not want to come.

⁴ So he sent other servants to again tell the people whom he had invited that they should come to the feast. He said to those servants, ‘Say to the people whom I invited to come to the feast, “The king says that he has prepared the food. The oxen and the fattened calves have been butchered and cooked. Everything is ready. It is time now for you to come to the wedding feast!’ ”’

⁴ Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding feast!”’

³ And sent out his servants to get in the guests to the feast: and they would not come.

⁴ Again he sent out other servants, with orders to say to the guests, See, I have made ready my feast: my oxen and my fat beasts have been put to death, and all things are ready: come to the feast.

² The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,

³ and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.

⁴ Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.

³ and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they did not want to come.

⁴ Again, he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Say to those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’

² “The kingdom of the heavens is like a certain king who prepared a wedding feast for his son.

³ And he sent out his servants to call those who had been invited to the wedding feast, but they did not want to come.

⁴ Again he sent out other servants saying: ‘Say to those who have been invited: “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast!” ’

² “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who organized a wedding celebration for his son,” Jesus explained.

³ “He sent out his servants to everyone who was invited to the wedding to tell them to come, but they refused.

⁴ So he sent out more servants, with the instructions, ‘Tell those who are invited that I've prepared the wedding banquet. The bulls and fattened calves have been killed—everything's ready. So come to the wedding!’

³ And sent foorth his seruants, to call them that were bidde to the wedding, but they woulde not come.

⁴ Againe hee sent foorth other seruants, saying. Tell them which are bidden, Beholde, I haue prepared my dinner: mine oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all thinges are readie: come vnto the mariage.

² “The kingdom of heaven,” he said, “may be compared to a king who gave a banquet in honour of his son's wedding.

³ He sent his servants to call those who had been invited to the banquet, but they were unwilling to come.

⁴ A second time he sent some servants, with orders to say to those who had been invited ‘I have prepared my breakfast, my cattle and fat beasts are killed and everything is ready; come to the banquet.’

² “The kingdom of heaven,” he said, “may be compared to a king who gave a banquet in honor of his son's wedding.

³ He sent his servants to call those who had been invited to the banquet, but they were unwilling to come.

⁴ A second time he sent some servants, with orders to say to those who had been invited ‘I have prepared my breakfast, my cattle and fat beasts are killed and everything is ready; come to the banquet.’

² “The Kingdom of Heaven (God) is like a certain king, who made a marriage feast for his son,

³ and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the marriage feast, but they would not come.

⁴ Again he sent out other servants, saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “Behold, I have prepared my dinner. My cattle and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast!”’

² The kingdome of heven is lyke vnto a certayne kynge which maryed his sonne

³ and sent forth his servantes to call them that were byd to the weddinge and they wolde not come.

⁴ Ageyne he sent forth other servauntes sayinge: Tell them which are bydden: beholde I have prepared my dynner myne oxen and my fatlinges are kylled and all thinges are redy come vnto the mariage.

³ He sent out his servants to call those who had been invited to come to the marriage feast, but they would not come.

⁴ Again the king sent other servants, saying, 'Tell them who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner. My oxen and fattened calves have been killed, and all things are ready. Come to the marriage feast.”'

² The kingdom of heavens is made like to a king that made weddings to his son.

³ And he sent his servants to call men that were bidden to the weddings, and they would not come.

⁴ Again he sent other servants, and said, Say to the men that be bidden to the feast, Lo! I have made ready my meat, my bulls and my volatiles, or my fat beasts, be slain, and all things be ready; come ye to the weddings.

² The kingdom of heavens is made like to a king that made weddings to his son. (The Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who gave a wedding for his son.)

³ And he sent his servants to call men that were bidden to the weddings, and they would not come.

⁴ Again he sent other servants, and said, Say to the men that be bidden to the feast, Lo! I have made ready my meat, (or Behold! I have prepared my food), my bulls and my volatiles, or my fat beasts, be slain, and all things be ready; come ye to the weddings.

² and seide, The kyngdom of heuenes is maad lijk to a kyng that made weddyngis to his sone.

³ And he sente hise seruauntis for to clepe men that weren bode to the weddyngis, and thei wolden not come.

⁴ Eftsoone he sente othere seruauntis, and seide, Seie ye to the men that ben bode to the feeste, Lo! Y haue maad redi my meete, my bolis and my volatilis ben slayn, and alle thingis ben redy; come ye to the weddyngis.

² 'The reign of the heavens was likened to a man, a king, who made marriage-feasts for his son,

³ and he sent forth his servants to call those having been called to the marriage-feasts, and they were not willing to come.

⁴ 'Again he sent forth other servants, saying, Say to those who have been called: Lo, my dinner I prepared, my oxen and the fatlings have been killed, and all things are ready, come ye to the marriage-feasts;
