Mark 5:20-36 in American Standard Version (1901)

20 And he went his way, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men marvelled.
21 And when Jesus had crossed over again in the boat unto the other side, a great multitude was gathered unto him; and he was by the sea.
22 And there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jaïrus by name; and seeing him, he falleth at his feet,
23 and beseecheth him much, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death: I pray thee, that thou come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be made whole, and live.
24 And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and they thronged him.
25 And a woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
27 having heard the things concerning Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I touch but his garments, I shall be made whole.
29 And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her plague.
30 And straightway Jesus, perceiving in himself that the power proceeding from him had gone forth, turned him about in the crowd, and said, Who touched my garments?
31 And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
32 And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
33 But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
35 While he yet spake, they come from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Teacher any further?
36 But Jesus, not heeding the word spoken, saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Fear not, only believe.

Mark 5:20-36 in Translation for Translators

20 So the man left and traveled around the Ten Towns district. He told people how much Jesus had done for him. All the people who heard what the man said were amazed.
21 Jesus and his disciples went in a boat back around Lake Galilee to where they were before. When they arrived at the shore of the lake, a large crowd gathered around Jesus.
22 One of the men who presided over a ◄synagogue/Jewish meeting place►, whose name was Jairus, came there. When he saw Jesus, he prostrated himself at his feet.
23 Then he pleaded with Jesus earnestly, “My twelve-year old daughter is sick and nearly dead! Please come to my house and place your hands on her in order that she will be healed {to heal her}, so that she will not die!”
24 So Jesus and the disciples went with him. A large crowd followed Jesus and many pushed close to him.
25 There was a woman in the crowd who had vaginal bleeding EUP every day for twelve years.
26 She had suffered much while many doctors treated her. But although she had spent all her money to pay the doctors, she had not been helped {they had not helped her}. Instead, she had become worse EUP.
27 After she heard that Jesus healed people, she came to where he was and pushed in the crowd close behind Jesus.
28 She did that because she was thinking, “If I touch him or even if I touch his clothes, I will be healed {his power will heal me}.” So she touched Jesus' clothes.
29 At once her bleeding stopped. At the same time, she sensed that she had been cured of {that he had cured} her illness.
30 Jesus also immediately sensed that his power had healed someone. So he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 One of his disciples replied, “You can see that many people are crowding close to you! Probably many people touched you! So ◄why do you ask ‘Who touched me?’ /We are surprised that you ask ‘Who touched me?’ RHQ►”
32 But Jesus kept looking around in order to see the one who had done it.
33 The woman was very afraid and trembling. She thought that Jesus might be angry because she had violated the law that women who had such a sickness should not touch other people. But she knew that Jesus had healed her. So she prostrated herself before him. Then she told him truthfully about what she had done.
34 He said to her, “◄Ma'am/Young lady►, because you have believed that I could heal you , I have healed you. You may go home with peace in your heart/innner being , because I promise that you will not be sick this way anymore .”
35 While Jesus was still speaking to that woman, some people arrived who had come from Jairus' house. They said to Jairus, “Your daughter has now died. So ◄it is useless that you bother the teacher any longer by urging him to go to your house!/why do you bother the teacher any longer by urging him to go to your house?► RHQ”
36 But when Jesus heard what these men said, he said to Jairus, “Do not think that the situation is hopeless! Just keep believing that she will live!”

20 And he went on his way, and made public in the country of Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him: and all men were full of wonder.
21 And when Jesus had gone over again in the boat to the other side, a great number of people came to him: and he was by the sea.
22 And one of the rulers of the Synagogue, Jairus by name, came, and seeing him, went down at his feet,
23 And made strong prayers to him, saying, My little daughter is near to death: it is my prayer that you will come and put your hands on her, so that she may be made well, and have life.
24 And he went with him; and a great number of people went after him, and came round him.
25 And a woman, who had had a flow of blood for twelve years,
26 And had undergone much at the hands of a number of medical men, and had given all she had, and was no better, but even worse,
27 When she had news of the things which Jesus did, went among the people coming after him, and put her hand on his robe.
28 For she said, If I may only put my hand on his robe, I will be made well.
29 And straight away the fountain of her blood was stopped, and she had a feeling in her body that her disease had gone and she was well.
30 And straight away Jesus was conscious that power had gone out of him; and, turning to the people, he said, Who was touching my robe?
31 And his disciples said to him, You see the people round you on every side, and you say, Who was touching me?
32 And on his looking round to see her who had done this thing,
33 The woman, shaking with fear, conscious of what had been done to her, came and, falling on her face before him, gave him a true account of everything.
34 And he said to her, Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be free from your disease.
35 And while he was still talking, they came from the ruler of the Synagogue's house, saying, Your daughter is dead: why are you still troubling the Master?
36 But Jesus, giving no attention to their words, said to the ruler of the Synagogue, Have no fear, only have faith.

20 So the man went on his way and began to tell the people of the Ten Cities everything Jesus had done for him, and everyone was amazed.
21 Jesus went back again by boat to the other side of the lake where a large crowd gathered around him at the shore.
22 A synagogue leader, a man named Jairus, came to him. When he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet

24 So Jesus went with him. Everybody followed, crowding and jostling him.
25 A woman was there who had been ill from bleeding for twelve years.
26 She'd suffered considerably under the care of many doctors, and had spent all she had. But nothing helped her—in fact she'd grown worse.
27 She had heard about Jesus, so she came up behind him through the crowd, and touched his cloak.
28 She was telling herself, “If I can just touch his cloak, I'll be healed.”
29 The bleeding stopped immediately, and she felt her body healed from her disease.
30 Jesus, sensing at once that power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my cloak?”
31 “Look at the crowd jostling you. What do you mean, ‘Who touched me?’” the disciples replied.
32 But Jesus went on looking around to see who had done it.
33 The woman, realizing what had happened to her, came and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth.
34 “My daughter, your trust in me has healed you. Go in peace. You have been completely cured of your disease,” Jesus told her.
35 While he was still speaking some people came from the home of the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “You don't need to bother the Teacher any longer.”
36 But Jesus paid no attention to what they said. He told the synagogue leader, “Don't be afraid, just trust in me.”

Mark 5:20-36 in Nyangumarta English Bible

20 In response to his word that man after he returned was going around in that country, in the east, in the 10 towns. He went to all people. He was telling them, “God made it very good for me. Jesus sent the spirits from me. He healed me.” They all were pleased, they were wondering about Jesus.
21a Then Jesus returned westwards to the other side of the waterhole.
21b Many people gathered with Jesus at the edge of the waterhole.
22 A man came, his name was Jairus. He was boss for the meeting house in his town. As soon as he saw Jesus he kneeled down in front of him.
23 He begged him, “My young daughter is very sick, she might die. Come to my camp, touch her with your hand. After that she will not die, she will truly stay alive.”
24 Jesus went with him, many were following those two. The people were squashing each other.
25 This woman also followed him. That woman had been sick a long time, 12 years. She truly kept losing blood (lit. 'blood kept crawling for her'), it was a big sickness.
26 She used to go to various doctors. They did not heal her. Hers was a big sickness. After that she had no money, still she was staying sick.
27 She heard, “Jesus heals sick people.” After she heard she said to herself, “I will touch just his clothes. After I touch him I will truly become well, I will be without sickness.” She did that. Partway along she came close to him, from behind she touched his clothes.
29 Right then her blood stopped flowing, that woman knew she was well, she was happy.
30 Right then Jesus knew about that, he said to himself, “Someone touched me, that person has become healthy.” He stopped, he turned round. He asked them, “Who touched my clothes.”
31 His men said to him, Why did you say that? Many people have been squashing you. Why did you ask, 'Who touched me.'?”
32 He was ignoring them, still he was looking around.
33 That woman knew about herself, she was truly healthy, without sickness. She was trembling with fear, she came to Jesus. She kneeled down in front of his feet, she truly told him a straight word.
34 Jesus talked kindly to her, “You believed in me for good. Therefore now you are well. Go without fear, you will stay well. From now on you will not again get this sickness.
35 While he was talking to the woman some others came from Jairus's house. They said to Jairus, “Your daughter is dead. Leave the teacher alone. Don't annoy him.
36 Jesus heard their words. He said to Jairus, “Don't be afraid, don't get upset. Still believe in me.”

20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him; and all wondered.
21 And when Jesus had crossed again in the boat to the ether side, a great multitude gathered about him; and he was by the lake.

24 And he went with him; and a great multitude followed him, and pressed upon him.
25 And a woman, who had had an issue of blood twelve years,
26 and had undergone much at the hands of many physicians, and spent all that she had, and was not at all benefited, but rather grew worse,
27 having heard about Jesus, came in the crowd behind, and touched his garment.
28 For she said, If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well.
29 And immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she perceived in her body that she was cured of her plague.
30 And Jesus immediately perceiving in himself that power had gone out from him, turned round in the crowed, and said, Who touched my garments?

20 So the man went, and began to proclaim in the district of the Ten Towns all that Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.
21 By the time Jesus had recrossed in the boat to the opposite shore, a great number of people had gathered to meet him, and were standing by the sea.
22 One of the leaders of the synagogue, whose name was Jairus, came and, as soon as he saw Jesus, threw himself at his feet and begged him repeatedly,

26 and undergone much at the hands of many doctors, (spending all she had without obtaining any relief, but, on the contrary, growing worse),
27 heard about Jesus, came behind in the crowd, and touched his cloak.
28 “If I can only touch his clothes,” she said, “I will get well!”

Mark 5:20-36 in Plain English Version

20 Then that man went all over that country called Ten Towns and told everybody that story. He told them all about the good things Jesus did for him. Everybody got a really big surprise.
21 Jesus and his followers got back into the boat and went to the other side of the lake. A really big mob of people was waiting for them there beside the water.
22 A man called Jairus came up to them. He was one of the bosses of a Jewish meeting place. He saw Jesus and went close to him and got down on his knees in front of him, to show him respect.
23 He strongly asked Jesus to help his daughter. He said, “My little girl is really sick and I think she will die. Please come and put your hands on her. I know you can make her better so that she will not die.”
24 Jesus listened to the man and started to go with him. The big mob of people followed them. They came up really close and pushed up against him Jesus, all around him.
25 While they were walking along, a sick woman was there. A long time before this she started bleeding and that bleeding didn’t stop.
26 She went to every doctor but none of them could help her. She spent all her money trying to get better, but it was no good, she only got worse. She kept bleeding for 12 years.
27 Then somebody told her about Jesus and she thought to herself, “If I can just touch his coat, I will get better.” So she came up behind Jesus and touched his coat
29 and straight away her bleeding stopped. She knew she was better.
30 Jesus knew straight away that power went out from him, so he stopped walking, turned around and asked the people, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 Jesus’s followers said, “There are big mobs of people here pushing up against you. Why do you ask, ‘Who touched me?’ Lots of people touched you.”
32 Jesus kept on looking around to see the person that used his power.
33 That woman knew that she was the one that got better, so she was very frightened and she was shaking. She came to Jesus and got down on her knees in front of him, to show him respect, and she told him her story. She told him that she touched him.
34 Jesus said to her, “Dear Lady, you really believed in me, so now you are better. You can go home and have no more trouble. You are not sick any more.”
35 While Jesus was talking to the woman, somebody came to Jairus from his house with bad news. He said, “I’m sorry, it’s too late. Your little girl is dead. Don’t worry Jesus now.”
36 Jesus heard their words but took no notice. He said to Jairus, “Don’t be frightened. Just trust me.”

36 But Yeshua, when he heard the message spoken, immediately said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Don’t be afraid, only believe.”

Mark 5:20-36 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

20 And he went forth, and began to preach in Decapolis, how great things Jesus had done to him; and all men wondered.
21 And when Jesus had gone up into the boat again over the sea, much people came together to him, and was about the sea.
22 And one of the princes of the synagogues, by name Jairus, came, and saw him, and he fell down at his feet,
23 and prayed him much, and said, My daughter is nigh dead; come thou, put thine hand on her, that she be safe, and live.
24 And he went forth with him, and much people pursued him, and thrust, either oppressed, him.
25 And a woman that had been in the bloody flux or the flux of blood twelve years,
26 and had received many things of full many leeches, and had spended all her good or her things, and was nothing amended or and nothing profited, but was rather the worse,
27 when she had heard of Jesus, she came among the people behind, and touched his cloth.
28 For she said, That if I touch yea his cloth, I shall be safe.
29 And anon the well of her blood was dried up, and she feeled in her body that she was healed of the sickness.
30 And anon Jesus knew in himself the virtue that was gone out of him, and he turned to the people, and said, Who touched my clothes?
31 And his disciples said to him, Thou seest the people thrusting or pressing thee, and sayest, Who touched me?
32 And Jesus looked about to see her that had done this thing.
33 And the woman dreaded, and quaked, witting that it was done in her, and came, and felled down before him, and said to him all the truth. Forsooth the woman dreading, and trembling, knowing that it was done in her, came, and fell down before him, and said to him all the truth.
34 And Jesus said to her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee safe; go in peace, and be thou whole of thy sickness.
35 Yet while he spake, messengers came to the prince of the synagogue, and said, Thy daughter is dead; what travailest thou the master further?
36 But when the word was heard that was said, Jesus said to the prince of the synagogue, Do not thou dread, only believe thou.

30 And anon Jesus knew in himself the virtue that was gone out of him (or And at once Jesus knew in himself that power had gone out of him), and he turned to the people, and said, Who touched my clothes?

Mark 5:20-36 in Young's Literal Translation

20 and he went away, and began to proclaim in the Decapolis how great things Jesus did to him, and all were wondering.
21 And Jesus having passed over in the boat again to the other side, there was gathered a great multitude to him, and he was near the sea,
22 and lo, there doth come one of the chiefs of the synagogue, by name Jairus, and having seen him, he doth fall at his feet,
23 and he was calling upon him much, saying — 'My little daughter is at the last extremity — that having come, thou mayest lay on her thy hands, so that she may be saved, and she shall live;'
24 and he went away with him. And there was following him a great multitude, and they were thronging him,
25 and a certain woman, having an issue of blood twelve years,
26 and many things having suffered under many physicians, and having spent all that she had, and having profited nothing, but rather having come to the worse,
27 having heard about Jesus, having come in the multitude behind, she touched his garment,
28 for she said — 'If even his garments I may touch, I shall be saved;'
29 and immediately was the fountain of her blood dried up, and she knew in the body that she hath been healed of the plague.
30 And immediately Jesus having known in himself that out of him power had gone forth, having turned about in the multitude, said, 'Who did touch my garments?'
31 and his disciples said to him, 'Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and thou sayest, 'Who did touch me!'
32 And he was looking round to see her who did this,
33 and the woman, having been afraid, and trembling, knowing what was done on her, came, and fell down before him, and told him all the truth,
34 and he said to her, 'Daughter, thy faith hath saved thee; go away in peace, and be whole from thy plague.'
35 As he is yet speaking, there come from the chief of the synagogue's house, certain, saying — 'Thy daughter did die, why still dost thou harass the Teacher?'
36 And Jesus immediately, having heard the word that is spoken, saith to the chief of the synagogue, 'Be not afraid, only believe.'
