¹⁷ And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.

¹⁸ And not a hair of your head shall perish.

¹⁹ In your patience ye shall win your souls.

²⁰ But when ye see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.

²¹ Then let them that are in Judæa flee unto the mountains; and let them that are in the midst of her depart out; and let not them that are in the country enter therein.

²² For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

²³ Woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath unto this people.

²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led captive into all the nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

²⁵ And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows;

²⁶ men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

²⁷ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁸ But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption draweth nigh.

²⁹ And he spake to them a parable: Behold the fig tree, and all the trees:

³⁰ when they now shoot forth, ye see it and know of your own selves that the summer is now nigh.

³¹ Even so ye also, when ye see these things coming to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh.

³² Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished.

³³ Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

³⁴ But take heed to yourselves, lest haply your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come on you suddenly as a snare:

³⁵ for so shall it come upon all them that dwell on the face of all the earth.

³⁶ But watch ye at every season, making supplication, that ye may prevail to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

¹⁷ In general, most people will HYP hate you because you believe in me MTY.

¹⁸ But your souls will be absolutely safe IDM.

¹⁹ By enduring all these things people will do to you, you will preserve your eternal life SYN.”

²⁰ “But when you see that Jerusalem has been surrounded by the armies of your enemies, you will know that it is time for this city to be completely destroyed { them to completely destroy this city}.

²¹ At that time those of you who are in Judea district must flee to the higher hills. Those who are in this city must leave quickly. Those who are in the nearby countryside must not go back into the city to get any of their possessions before they flee.

²² You must obey what I tell you because, in order that all the things that are written in the Scriptures will be fulfilled, God will very severely punish the people who stay in this city.

²³ I feel very sorry for women in this city who will be pregnant, and women who will be nursing their babies in those days, because it will be very difficult for them to run away! I feel sorry because the people in this land will suffer greatly MTY when God punishes them.

²⁴ Many of them will be killed {Their enemies will kill many of them} with swords. Others will be captured and taken {They will capture others and take them} to HYP other countries. Non-Jewish people will trample over Jerusalem until the time that God has determined for them to rule the city is ended.”

²⁵ “There will also be strange things that will happen to the sun, the moon, and the stars. In many nations, people will be very frightened, and they will be anxious when they hear the ocean roaring and see huge waves.

²⁶ People will faint because they will be afraid as they wait for what will happen. They will be afraid because the powerful objects in the sky will be shaken {shake}.

²⁷ Then they will see me, the one who came from heaven, coming in a cloud powerfully and very gloriously.

²⁸ So when these things that I have just now described begin to happen, stand up straight and be brave, because it will be close to the time when God will free you from all suffering.”

²⁹ Then Jesus told his disciples this parable: “Think about the fig tree, and all the other trees.

³⁰ As soon as you see their leaves beginning to sprout, you know that summer is near.

³¹ Similarly, when you see these things that I have just described happening, you will know that it is almost time for God to truly rule as king.

³² Keep this in mind: All the things that I have just now described will happen before all the people who have observed the things that I have done have died.

³³ You can be certain that these things that I have told you about will happen. That they will happen is more certain than that the earth and sky will continue to exist.”

³⁴ “But be on guard. Do not be getting drunk with carousing or let yourselves be distracted by worries concerning your lives SYN {or let worries concerning your lives SYN distract you}. If you do wrong things like those, you may be suddenly surprised by my return MTY, like a trap suddenly catches an animal in it.

³⁵ You need to know that my return will surprise everyone all over the earth.

³⁶ So be ready at all times. Pray that you will be able to endure without being afraid of all these difficult things that will happen, so that you will then stand confidently before me, the one who came from heaven.”

²⁵ “There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;

²⁶ men fainting for fear and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

²⁷ Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁸ But when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”

³⁴ “So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.

³⁵ For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth.

³⁶ Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

¹⁹ By going through all these things, you will keep your lives.

²⁰ But when you see armies all round about Jerusalem, then be certain that her destruction is near.

²¹ Then let those who are in Judaea go in flight to the mountains; and those who are in the middle of the town go out; and let not those who are in the country come in.

²² For these are the days of punishment, in which all the things in the Writings will be put into effect.

²³ It will be hard for women who are with child, and for her with a baby at the breast, in those days. For great trouble will come on the land, and wrath on this people.

²⁴ And they will be put to death with the sword, and will be taken as prisoners into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be crushed under the feet of the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles are complete.

²⁵ And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars; and on the earth, fear among the nations and doubt because of the loud noise of the sea and the waves;

²⁶ Men's strength will go from them in fear and in waiting for the things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of the heavens will be moved.

²⁷ And then they will see the Son of man coming in a cloud, with power and great glory.

²⁸ But when these things come about, let your heads be lifted up, because your salvation is near.

²⁹ And he made a story for them: See the fig-tree, and all the trees;

³⁰ When they put out their young leaves, you take note of it, and it is clear to you that summer is coming.

³¹ In the same way, when you see these things taking place you may be certain that the kingdom of God is near.

³² Truly I say to you, This generation will not come to an end till all things are complete.

³³ Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my words will not come to an end.

³⁴ But give attention to yourselves, for fear that your hearts become over-full of the pleasures of food and wine, and the cares of this life, and that day may come on you suddenly, and take you as in a net:

³⁵ For so it will come on all those who are living on the face of all the earth.

³⁶ But keep watch at all times with prayer, that you may be strong enough to come through all these things and take your place before the Son of man.

¹⁷ and ye will be hated of all for my name's sake.

¹⁸ And a hair of your head shall in no wise perish.

¹⁹ By your patient endurance gain your souls.

²⁰ But when ye see Jerusalem encompassed with armies, then know that its desolation is drawn nigh.

²¹ Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of it depart out, and those who are in the country not enter into it;

²² for these are days of avenging, that all the things that are written may be accomplished.

²³ But woe to them that are with child and to them who give suck in those days, for there shall be great distress upon the land and wrath upon this people.

²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the nations until the times of the nations be fulfilled.

²⁶ men ready to die through fear and expectation of what is coming on the habitable earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

²⁷ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁸ But when these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws nigh.

²⁹ And he spoke a parable to them: Behold the fig-tree and all the trees;

³⁰ when they already sprout, ye know of your own selves, on looking at them, that already the summer is near.

³¹ So also ye, when ye see these things take place, know that the kingdom of God is near.

³² Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall in no wise pass away until all come to pass.

³³ The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall in no wise pass away.

³⁴ But take heed to yourselves lest possibly your hearts be laden with surfeiting and drinking and cares of life, and that day come upon you suddenly unawares;

³⁵ for as a snare shall it come upon all them that dwell upon the face of the whole earth.

²⁸ But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is at hand.

²⁹ And he spoke to them in a similitude. See the fig tree, and all the trees:

³⁰ When they now shoot forth their fruit, you know that summer is nigh;

³¹ So you also, when you shall see these things come to pass, know that the kingdom of God is at hand.

³² Amen, I say to you, this generation shall not pass away, till all things be fulfilled.

³³ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest perhaps your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness, and the cares of this life, and that day come upon you suddenly.

²⁴ And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

³² Assuredly I say to you, this generation shall by no means pass away till all things are fulfilled.

³⁴ “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and worries of life, and that Day come upon you unexpectedly.

³⁵ For it will come as a snare on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.

³⁶ Watch therefore, praying always that you may be counted worthy to escape everything that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

¹⁷ And you will be hated by all because of my name.

¹⁸ (Not even one hair of your head will be wasted

¹⁹ —you must secure your souls by your endurance.)

²⁰ “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that her desolation is at hand.

²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; let those who are in the city get out, and let those who are in the country not enter her.

²² Because these are days of vengeance, that all the written things may be fulfilled.

²³ But woe to those who are pregnant and to those nursing babies in those days! There will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.

²⁴ Yes, they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁵ “There will be signs in sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, at the roaring and tossing of the sea;

²⁶ men fainting from fear and expectation of the things coming on the inhabited earth—because the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

²⁷ Then they will see the Son of the Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁸ Now when these things begin to happen, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

²⁹ Then He told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees.

³⁰ Whenever they are already budding, you see and know by yourselves that summer is now near.

³¹ So you also, whenever you see these things happening, know that the Kingdom of God is near.

³² I tell you assuredly, this generation will certainly not pass away until all has happened.

³³ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.

³⁴ “But keep a watch on yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness, and cares of life, and that Day come upon you suddenly.

³⁵ Because it will come like a trap upon all those who dwell on the surface of the whole earth.

³⁶ So be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that are about to happen and to stand before the Son of the Man.”

¹⁷ Everyone will hate you because of me.

¹⁸ But not a single hair of your head will be lost.

¹⁹ By standing firm you will gain your lives.

²⁰ However, when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you know that its destruction is near.

²¹ Those who are in Judea should run away to the mountains, and those who are in Jerusalem should leave, and those who are the countryside shouldn't enter the city.

²² For these are days of punishment, fulfilling all that's written.

²³ How hard it will be for those who are pregnant or nursing babies at that time! For terrible trouble is coming on the land and punishment against this people.

²⁴ They will be killed by the sword and taken away as prisoners to all the nations. Jerusalem will be trodden down by the foreign nations until their time is fulfilled.

²⁵ There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars, and on the earth the nations will be in distress, confused by the sea's rolling and crashing.

²⁶ People will be faint from fear, terrified about what is happening to the world, for the powers of heaven will be shaken.

²⁷ Then they'll see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁸ But when these things happen, stand up and look up, because you will soon be saved.”

²⁹ Then he told them this story as an illustration. “Look at the fig tree, or any other kind of tree.

³⁰ When you see new leaves appear, you don't need to be told that summer is near.

³¹ In the same way, when you see these things happening, you don't need to be told that God's kingdom is near.

³² I tell you the truth, this generation won't come to an end before all this happens.

³³ Heaven and earth will come to an end, but my word will not.

³⁴ Watch out that you don't become distracted by partying or getting drunk or by the worries of this life, so that this day catches you by surprise.

³⁵ For this day will come upon everyone who lives on the face of the earth.

³⁶ Always keep watch and pray, so that you may be able to escape all that will happen and stand before the Son of man.”

³⁶ Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”

¹⁷ You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake.

¹⁸ And not a hair of your head will perish.

¹⁹ “By your endurance you will win your lives.

²⁰ “But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand.

²¹ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the middle of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein.

²² For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

²³ Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath to this people.

²⁴ They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

²⁵ “There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;

²⁶ men fainting for fear and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

²⁷ Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

²⁸ But when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”

²⁹ He told them a parable. “See the fig tree and all the trees.

³⁰ When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near.

³¹ Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that God’s Kingdom is near.

³² Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished.

³³ Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.

³⁴ “So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly.

³⁵ For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth.

²¹ Then they that be in Judea, flee to the mountains; and they that be in the middle of it, go away; and they that be in the countries, enter not into it.

²² For these be the days of vengeance, that all things that be written, be fulfilled.

²³ And woe to them, that be with child, and nourishing or nursing in those days; for a great dis-ease or pressure shall be on the earth, and wrath to this people.

²⁴ And they shall fall by the sharpness of sword, and they shall be led prisoners or led captive into all folks; and Jerusalem shall be defouled of heathen men, till the times of nations be fulfilled.

²⁵ And tokens shall be in the sun, and the moon, and in the stars; and in the earth overlaying of folks, for confusion of the sound of the sea and of floods or of waves;

²⁶ for men shall wax dry for dread and abiding, that shall come into or on all the world; for virtues of heaven shall be moved.

²⁷ And then they shall see man’s Son coming in a cloud, with great power and majesty.

²⁸ And when these things begin to be made or beginning to be done, behold ye, and raise ye your heads, for your redemption nigheth.

²⁹ And he said to them a likeness, See ye the fig tree, and all trees,

³⁰ when they bring forth now of themselves fruit, ye know that summer is nigh;

³¹ so also ye, when ye see these things to be done, know ye, that the kingdom of God is nigh.

³² Truly I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all things be done.

³⁴ But take ye heed to yourselves, lest peradventure your hearts be grieved with gluttony, and drunken-ness, and busynesses of this life, and that day come suddenly on you;

³⁰ when they bring forth now of themselves fruit or when they bring forth fruit now of them(selves), ye know that summer is nigh (or that summer is near);

³¹ so also ye, when ye see these things to be done, know ye, that the kingdom of God is nigh (or that the Kingdom of God is near).

³² Truly I say to you, that this generation shall not pass, till all things be done. (I tell you the truth, that this generation shall not pass away, until all these things have happened.)

³³ Heaven and earth shall pass (away), but my words shall not pass (away).

³⁴ But take ye heed to yourselves (or Keep watch over yourselves), lest peradventure your hearts be grieved with gluttony, and drunkenness, and (the) busynesses of this life, and that day come suddenly on you;

²¹ Thanne thei that ben in Judee, fle to the mountans; and thei that ben in the mydil of it, gon awei; and thei that ben in the cuntreis, entre not in to it.

²² For these ben daies of veniaunce, that alle thingis that ben writun, be fulfillid.

²³ And wo to hem, that ben with child, and norischen in tho daies; for a greet diseese schal be on the erthe, and wraththe to this puple.

²⁴ And thei schulen falle bi the scharpnesse of swerd, and thei schulen be led prisoneris in to alle folkis; and Jerusalem schal be defoulid of hethene men, til the tymes of naciouns be fulfillid.

²⁵ And tokenes schulen be in the sunne, and the mone, and in the sterris; and in the erthe ouerleiyng of folkis, for confusioun of sown of the see and of floodis;

²⁶ for men schulen wexe drye for drede and abidyng that schulen come to al the world; for vertues of heuenes schulen be mouyd.

²⁷ And thanne thei schulen se mannys sone comynge in a cloude, with greet power and maieste.

²⁸ And whanne these thingis bigynnen to be maad, biholde ye, and reise ye youre heedis, for youre redempcioun neiyeth.

²⁹ And he seide to hem a liknesse, Se ye the fige tre, and alle trees,

³⁰ whanne thei bryngen forth now of hem silf fruyt, ye witen that somer is nyy;

³¹ so ye, whanne ye seen these thingis to be don, wite ye, that the kyngdom of God is nyy.

³² Treuli Y seie to you, that this generacioun schal not passe, til alle thingis be don.

³³ Heuene and erthe schulen passe, but my wordis schulen not passe.

³⁴ But take ye heede to you silf, lest perauenture youre hertis be greuyd with glotony, and drunkenesse, and bisynessis of this lijf, and thilke dai come sodein on you; for as a snare it schal come on alle men,

³⁵ that sitten on the face of al erthe.

³⁶ Therfor wake ye, preiynge in ech tyme, that ye be hadde worthi to fle alle these thingis that ben to come, and to stonde bifor mannus sone.

²² because these are days of vengeance, to fulfil all things that have been written.

²³ 'And woe to those with child, and to those giving suck, in those days; for there shall be great distress on the land, and wrath on this people;

²⁴ and they shall fall by the mouth of the sword, and shall be led captive to all the nations, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by nations, till the times of nations be fulfilled.

²⁵ 'And there shall be signs in sun, and moon, and stars, and on the land is distress of nations with perplexity, sea and billow roaring;

²⁶ men fainting at heart from fear, and expectation of the things coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

²⁷ 'And then they shall see the Son of Man, coming in a cloud, with power and much glory;

²⁸ and these things beginning to happen bend yourselves back, and lift up your heads, because your redemption doth draw nigh.'

²⁹ And he spake a simile to them: 'See the fig-tree, and all the trees,

³⁰ when they may now cast forth, having seen, of yourselves ye know that now is the summer nigh;

³¹ so also ye, when ye may see these things happening, ye know that near is the reign of God;

³² verily I say to you — This generation may not pass away till all may have come to pass;

³³ the heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words may not pass away.

³⁴ 'And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts may be weighed down with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and anxieties of life, and suddenly that day may come on you,

³⁵ for as a snare it shall come on all those dwelling on the face of all the land,

³⁶ watch ye, then, in every season, praying that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.'
