¹⁷ Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein.

¹⁸ And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?

¹⁹ And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, even God.

²⁰ Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother.

²¹ And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.

²² And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

²³ But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.

²⁴ And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ And they that heard it said, Then who can be saved?

²⁷ But he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

¹⁷ Note this: Those who do not trust God and allow him to direct their lives, as children do, will not enter the MET place where God rules.”

¹⁸ A Jewish leader asked Jesus, “Good teacher, what shall I do in order to have eternal life?”

¹⁹ Jesus said to him, “Only God is good! No one else is good! ◄So you(sg) should consider carefully what you are implying by calling me good!/ Do you realize that you are implying that I am God by calling me good?► RHQ

²⁰ But to answer your question, you (sg) know the commandments that God gave Moses. He commanded such things as ‘do not commit adultery, do not commit murder, do not steal, do not testify falsely about what you have seen or heard, honor your father and mother.’”

²¹ The man said, “I have obeyed all those commandments ever since I was young. So ◄ there must be something else I have not done./is that enough?►”

²² When Jesus heard him say that, he replied to him, “There is one thing that you (sg) have not done yet. Sell all that you own. Then give the money to poor people. The result will be that you will have spiritual riches in heaven. Then come and be my disciple!”

²³ The man became sad when he heard that, because he was very rich and he did not want to give everything away.

²⁴ Jesus looked at the man as he left, and said, “It is very difficult for those who are wealthy to decide to let God rule MET their lives.

²⁵ You would say that it is impossible for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. It is almost as difficult HYP for rich people to decide to let God rule their lives.”

²⁶ The Jews thought that God favored rich people, so they thought that if God did not save rich people, he would not save others, either. So one of the disciples who heard him say that replied, “If that is so, it seems that no one will be saved { that God will not save anyone} RHQ!”

²⁷ But Jesus said, “It is impossible for people to save themselves. But God can save them, because God can do anything!”

²⁰ You have knowledge of what the law says: Do not be untrue to your wife, Do not put anyone to death, Do not take what is not yours, Do not give false witness, Give honour to your father and mother.

²¹ And he said, All these things I have done from the time when I was a boy.

²² And Jesus, hearing it, said to him, One thing you still have need of; get money for your goods, and give it away to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven; and come after me.

²³ But at these words he became very sad, for he had great wealth.

²⁴ And Jesus, looking at him, said, How hard it is for those who have wealth to get into the kingdom of God!

²⁵ It is simpler for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a man who has much money to come into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ And those who were present said, Then who may have salvation?

²⁷ But he said, Things which are not possible with man are possible with God.

²³ But when he heard this he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

²⁴ But when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, he said, How difficultly shall those who have riches enter into the kingdom of God;

²⁵ for it is easier for a camel to enter through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ And those who heard it said, And who can be saved?

¹⁷ I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn't welcome the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

¹⁸ One of the rulers came to Jesus and asked him, “Good Teacher, what do I have to do to inherit eternal life?”

¹⁹ “Why do you call me good?” Jesus replied. “No one is good, only God.

²⁰ You know the commandments: do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.”

²¹ “I've kept all these commandments since I was young,” the man replied.

²² When Jesus heard this he told the man, “You still lack one thing. Go and sell all you have, give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me!”

²³ But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was very wealthy.

²⁴ When he saw his reaction, Jesus said, “How difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

²⁵ It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

²⁶ Those who heard this wondered, “Who can be saved then?”

²⁷ Jesus replied, “What is impossible in human terms is possible for God.”

¹⁹ And Iesus said vnto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, saue one, euen God.

²⁰ Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnes: Honour thy father and thy mother.

²¹ And hee saide, All these haue I kept from my youth.

²² Nowe when Iesus heard that, he saide vnto him, Yet lackest thou one thing. Sell all that euer thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come follow mee.

²³ But when he heard those things, he was very heauie: for he was marueilous riche.

²⁴ And when Iesus sawe him very sorowfull, he said, With what difficultie shall they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!

²⁵ Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.

²⁶ Then said they that heard it, And who then can be saued?

²³ When he heard that he was hevy: for he was very ryche.

²⁴ When Iesus sawe him morne he sayde: with what difficulte shall they that have ryches enter into the kyngdome of God:

²⁵ it is easyer for a camell to goo thorow a nedles eye then for a ryche man to enter into the kyngdome of God.

²⁶ Then sayde they that hearde that: And who shall then be saved?

²⁷ And he sayde: Thinges which are vnpossible with men are possible with God.

¹⁸ A certain ruler asked him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

¹⁹ Jesus asked him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good, except one: God.

²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”

²¹ He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”

²² When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”

²³ But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.

²⁴ Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”

²⁶ Those who heard it said, “Then who can be saved?”

²⁷ But he said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”

¹⁷ Most certainly, I tell you, whoever doesn’t receive God’s Kingdom like a little child, he will in no way enter into it.”

²⁴ And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly will they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ And they that heard it , said, Who then can be saved?

²⁷ Then he said, The things which are impossible with men, are possible with God.

²² And when this thing was heard, Jesus said to him, Yet one thing faileth to thee; sell thou all things that thou hast, and give to poor men, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, and pursue thou me.

²³ And when these things were heard, he was sorrowful, for he was full rich.

²⁴ And Jesus seeing him made sorry or made sorrowful said, How hard they that have money or riches shall enter into the kingdom of God;

²⁵ for it is lighter or easier, a camel to pass through a needle’s eye, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ And they that heard these things said, Who may be made safe?

²⁷ And he said to them, Those things that be impossible with men, be possible with God.

¹⁷ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not take the kingdom of God as a child, he shall not enter into it. (I tell you the truth, whoever shall not receive, or shall not accept, the Kingdom of God like a child, he shall not enter into it.)

¹⁸ And a prince asked him, and said, Good master, in what thing doing shall I wield everlasting life? (And a leader of the synagogue asked him, and said, Good Teacher, what must I do to get, or to possess, eternal life?)

¹⁹ And Jesus said to him, What sayest thou me (to be) good? (or Why sayest thou that I am good?) No man is good, but God alone.

²⁰ Thou knowest the commandments, Thou shalt not slay, Thou shalt not do lechery, Thou shalt not do theft, Thou shalt not say false witnessing, Worship thy father and thy mother. (Thou knowest the commandments, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not do adultery, Thou shalt not do theft, Thou shalt not give false testimony, or Thou shalt not lie, Honour thy father and thy mother.)

²³ And when these things were heard, he was sorrowful, for he was full rich.

²⁴ And Jesus seeing him made sorry or made sorrowful said, How hard they that have money or riches shall enter into the kingdom of God;

²⁵ for it is lighter or forsooth it is easier, (for) a camel to pass through a needle’s eye, than (for) a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁷ And he said to them, Those things that be impossible with men, be possible with God.

²¹ Which seide, Y haue kept alle these thingis fro my yongthe.

²² And whanne this thing was herd, Jhesus seide to hym, Yit o thing failith `to thee; sille thou alle thingis that thou hast, and yyue to pore men, and thou schalt haue tresour in heuene; and come, and sue thou me.

²³ Whanne these thingis weren herd, he was soreful, for he was ful ryche.

²⁴ And Jhesus seynge hym maad sorie, seide, How hard thei that han money schulen entre in to the kyngdom of God;

²⁵ for it is liyter a camel to passe thorou a nedlis iye, than a riche man to entre in to the kyngdom of God.

²⁶ And thei that herden these thingis seiden, Who may be maad saaf?

²⁷ And he seide to hem, Tho thingis that ben impossible anentis men, ben possible anentis God.

¹⁷ verily I say to you, Whoever may not receive the reign of God as a little child, may not enter into it.'

¹⁹ And Jesus said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one is good, except One — God;

²⁰ the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.'

²¹ And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'

²² and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'

²³ and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.

²⁴ And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!

²⁵ for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'

²⁶ And those who heard, said, 'And who is able to be saved?'

²⁷ and he said, 'The things impossible with men are possible with God.'
