John 17:13-24 in English

¹³ But now I come to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

¹⁴ I have given them thy word; and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ I pray not that thou shouldest take them from the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil one.

¹⁶ They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁷ Sanctify them in the truth: thy word is truth.

¹⁸ As thou didst send me into the world, even so sent I them into the world.

¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.

²⁰ Neither for these only do I pray, but for them also that believe on me through their word;

²¹ that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us: that the world may believe that thou didst send me.

²² And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one;

²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that thou didst send me, and lovedst them, even as thou lovedst me.

²⁴ Father, I desire that they also whom thou hast given me be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

¹³ Now I am coming to You, and I speak these things in the world, so that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

¹⁴ I have given them Your word. The world has hated them because they don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

¹⁵ I don’t pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.

¹⁶ They don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

¹⁷ Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

¹⁸ As You sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.

¹⁹ I sanctify myself for their sakes, so that they may also be sanctified by the truth.

²⁰ “I don’t pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in me through their message,

²¹ that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in me, and I in You. I pray that they also may be one in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent me.

²² I have given them the glory which You gave me, that they may be one just as we are one:

²³ I in them and You in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that You sent me and have sincerely loved them even as You have sincerely loved me.

²⁴ Father, I desire that those You gave me may also be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which You’ve given me; because You sincerely loved me before the foundation of the world.

¹³ And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

²² And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

²⁴ Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

²⁴ Father, that which thou hast given me, I will that, where I am, they also may be with me; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

¹³ Father, now I am about to return to you. I have said these things while I am still here in the world in order that my disciples may fully experience being joyful, as I have been joyful.

¹⁴ I have given them your message. As a result, those who are opposed to you MTY have hated them, because my disciples do not belong to those who oppose you MTY, just like I do not belong to those who oppose you MTY.

¹⁵ I am asking you, not that you take them out of this world, but instead that you protect them from Satan, the evil one.

¹⁶ They do not belong to those who are opposed to you MTY, just like I also do not belong to them.

¹⁷ Set my disciples apart so that they may ◄completely belong to/serve► you, by enabling them to live in accordance with what is true. Your message is true.

¹⁸ Just like you sent me here into this world, now I surely will be sending them to other places in MTY the world.

¹⁹ I dedicate myself to completely belong to you, in order that they also may truly be dedicated {dedicate themselves} completely to you.”

²⁰ “I am praying not only for these eleven disciples. I am praying also for those who will believe in me as a result of hearing their message.

²¹ My Father, I want all of them to be united, just like I am united with you because of my relationship with you, and as you are united with me because of your relationship with me. I also want them to be united with us. I want that to happen so that those who do not know you MTY may know that you sent me.

²² I have honored my disciples just like you honored me, in order that they may be united, as we are united.

²³ I want them to be united just like they are united with me and as you are united with me. May they be completely united, in order that those who do not belong to you MTY may know that you sent me and that you have loved them just like you have loved me.

²⁴ My Father, I want the disciples you have brought to me to some day be with me in heaven, where I will be. I want them to see my greatness. I want them to see the greatness you gave me because you loved me. You gave me that greatness before you created the world.

¹⁴ I have given your word to them; and they are hated by the world, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ My prayer is not that you will take them out of the world, but that you will keep them from the Evil One.

¹⁶ They are not of the world any more than I am of the world.

¹⁷ Make them holy by the true word: your word is the true word.

¹⁸ Even as you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world.

¹⁹ And for them I make myself holy, so that they may be made truly holy.

²⁰ My prayer is not for them only, but for all who will have faith in me through their word;

²¹ May they all be one! Even as you, Father, are in me and I am in you, so let them be in us, so that all men may come to have faith that you sent me.

²² And the glory which you have given to me I have given to them, so that they may be one even as we are one;

²³ I in them, and you in me, so that they may be made completely one, and so that it may become clear to all men that you have sent me and that they are loved by you as I am loved by you.

²⁴ Father, it is my desire that these whom you have given to me may be by my side where I am, so that they may see my glory which you have given to me, because you had love for me before the world came into being.

¹³ Now I'm coming to you, and I say these things while I am still here in the world so they may share completely in my joy.

²³ I live in them, and you live in me. May they be completely one, so the whole world will know that you did send me, and that you love them, just as you love me.

²⁴ Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so they can see the glory which you gave to me—for you loved me before the world was created.

¹³ And now come I to thee, and these things speake I in the worlde, that they might haue my ioy fulfilled in themselues.

¹⁴ I haue giuen them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou keepe them from euill.

¹⁶ They are not of the worlde, as I am not of the world.

¹⁷ Sanctifie them with thy trueth: thy word is trueth.

¹⁸ As thou diddest send me into the world, so haue I sent them into the world.

¹⁹ And for their sakes sanctifie I my selfe, that they also may bee sanctified through the trueth.

²⁰ I praie not for these alone, but for them also which shall beleeue in mee, through their woorde,

²¹ That they all may bee one, as thou, O Father, art in me, and I in thee: euen that they may be also one in vs, that the worlde may beleeue that thou hast sent me.

²² And the glory that thou gauest me, I haue giuen them, that they may be one, as we are one,

²³ I in them, and thou in mee, that they may be made perfect in one, and that the worlde may knowe that thou hast sent mee, and hast loued them, as thou hast loued me.

²⁴ Father, I will that they which thou hast giuen me, be with me euen where I am, that they may beholde that my glorie, which thou hast giuen mee: for thou louedst me before the foundation of the world.

²⁰ But it is not only for them that I am interceding, but also for those who believe in me through their message,

²¹ that they all may be one — that as you, Father, are in union with us — and so the world may believe that you have sent me as your messenger.

²² I have given them the honour which you has given me, so that they may be one as we are one —

²³ I in union with them and you with me — that so they may be perfected in their union, and so that the world may know that you have sent me as your messenger, and that you have loved them as you have loved me.

²⁴ Father, my desire for all those whom you have given me is that they may be with me where I am, so that they may see the honour which you have given me; for thou did love me before the beginning of the world.

¹³ But now I am to come to you; and I am speaking like this, while still in the world, so that they may have my own joy, in all its fullness, in their hearts.

¹⁴ I have given them your message; and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world, even as I do not belong to the world.

²⁴ Abba ·Father familiar, Dear Dad·, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory, which you have given me, for you have agapao ·totally devoted love· for me from before the foundation of the world.

¹³ Now come I to the and these wordes speake I in the worlde that they myght have my ioye full in them.

¹⁴ I have geven them thy wordes and the worlde hath hated them because they are not of the worlde even as I am not of the worlde.

¹⁵ I desyre not that thou shuldest take the out of the worlde: but that thou kepe them from evyll.

¹⁶ They are not of the worlde as I am not of the worlde.

¹⁷ Sanctify the with thy truth. Thy sayinge is truth.

¹⁸ As thou dyddest send me into the worlde even so have I sent them into the worlde

¹⁹ and for their sakes sanctify I my selfe that they also myght be sanctified thorowe the trueth.

²⁰ I praye not for them alone: but for them also which shall beleve on me thorowe their preachynge

²¹ that they all maye be one as thou father arte in me and I in the that they maye be also one in vs that the worlde maye beleve that thou hast sent me.

²² And that glory that thou gavest me I have geven them that they maye be one as we are wone

²³ I in them and thou in me that they maye be made perfecte in one and that the worlde maye knowe that thou hast sent me and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

²³ I in them, and you in me—that they may be brought to complete unity, so that the world will know that you sent me, and that you have loved them just as you loved me.

²⁴ Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.

¹³ But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.

¹⁴ I have given them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁵ I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.

¹⁶ They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

¹⁷ Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth.

¹⁸ As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world.

²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they be ended into one; and that the world know, that thou sentest me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved also me.

²⁴ Father, they which thou hast given to me, I will that where I am, that they be with me, that they see my clearness, that thou hast given to me; for thou lovedest me before the making of the world.

¹³ But now I come to thee, and I speak these things in the world, that they have my joy fulfilled in themselves. (And now I come to thee, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they have my joy filled full within themselves.)

²⁰ And I pray not only for them, but also for them that shall believe into me by the word of them; (And I pray not only for them, but also for those who shall believe in me because of their words;)

²¹ that all they be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee, that also they in us be one, (or that they all be one, like thou, Father, in me, and I in thee, that also they be one in us); (so) that the world believe, that thou hast sent me.

²² And I have given to them the clearness, that thou hast given to me, that they be one, as we be one; (And I have given them the glory, that thou hast given me, so that they be one, like we be one;)

²³ I in them, and thou in me, that they be ended into one (or so that they perfectly or completely become one); and (so) that the world know, that thou sentest me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved also me.

²⁴ Father, they which thou hast given to me, I will that where I am, that they be with me, that they see my clearness, that thou hast given to me; for thou lovedest me before the making of the world. (Father, they whom thou hast given to me, I desire that where I am, that they be with me, so that they can see my glory, which thou hast given to me; for thou hast loved me before the making or the creation of the world.)

¹³ But now Y come to thee, and Y speke these thingis in the world, that thei haue my ioie fulfillid in hem silf.

¹⁴ Y yaf to hem thi word, and the world hadde hem in hate; for thei ben not of the world, as Y am not of the world.

¹⁹ And Y halewe my silf for hem, that also thei ben halewid in treuthe.

²⁰ And Y preye not oneli for hem, but also for hem that schulden bileue in to me bi the word of hem;

²¹ that all ben oon, as thou, fadir, in me, and Y in thee, that also thei in vs be oon; that the world bileue, that thou hast sent me.

²² And Y haue youun to hem the clerenesse, that thou hast youun to me, that thei ben oon,

²³ as we ben oon; Y in hem, and thou in me, that thei be endid in to oon; and that the world knowe, that thou sentist me, and hast loued hem, as thou hast loued also me.

²⁴ Fadir, thei whiche thou yauest to me, Y wole that where Y am, that thei be with me, that thei see my clerenesse, that thou hast youun to me; for thou louedist me bifor the makyng of the world.

¹³ 'And now unto Thee I come, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves;

¹⁴ I have given to them Thy word, and the world did hate them, because they are not of the world, as I am not of the world;

¹⁵ I do not ask that Thou mayest take them out of the world, but that Thou mayest keep them out of the evil.

¹⁶ 'Of the world they are not, as I of the world am not;

¹⁷ sanctify them in Thy truth, Thy word is truth;

¹⁸ as Thou didst send me to the world, I also did send them to the world;

¹⁹ and for them do I sanctify myself, that they also themselves may be sanctified in truth.

²⁰ 'And not in regard to these alone do I ask, but also in regard to those who shall be believing, through their word, in me;

²¹ that they all may be one, as Thou Father art in me, and I in Thee; that they also in us may be one, that the world may believe that Thou didst send me.

²² 'And I, the glory that thou hast given to me, have given to them, that they may be one as we are one;

²³ I in them, and Thou in me, that they may be perfected into one, and that the world may know that Thou didst send me, and didst love them as Thou didst love me.
