¹⁰ The bloodthirsty hate him that is perfect; And as for the upright, they seek his life.

⁶ Evil people will be trapped by the sins that they commit, but righteous/honest people will sing and be joyful/happy.

⁷ Righteous/Good people know that poor people should be treated fairly/justly, but wicked people ◄are not concerned about/do not pay attention to► those matters at all.

⁸ Those who make fun of everything that is good say things that cause everyone in the city to ◄be agitated/in turmoil►; those who are wise enable people to remain calm.

⁹ If a wise person sues a foolish person, the foolish person merely laughs at him and yells at him and will not be quiet (OR, the dispute will not be resolved).

¹⁰ Those who murder others hate people who ◄are honest/always do what is right►, but righteous people try to protect them.

¹¹ People who are wise are patient and restrain/control themselves when they are angry, but foolish people ◄quickly show others that they are very angry/do not restrain themselves at all►.

¹² If a ruler ◄pays attention to/believes► people who tell lies, all his officials will also become wicked.

¹³ There is one thing that is true about both poor people and those who oppress them: Yahweh enables all of them to see.

¹⁴ If kings judge poor people fairly, they will continue to rule for a long time.

¹⁵ If children are punished/spanked and reproved/warned, they become wise; but if they are allowed to do whatever they want to do, they do things that cause their mothers to be ashamed of them.

¹³ The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: The LORD gives sight to the eyes of both.

¹⁴ The king who fairly judges the poor, his throne shall be established forever.

¹⁵ The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

⁵ A man that speaketh by flattering and feigned words to his friend, spreadeth abroad a net to his steps.

⁶ A snare shall wrap a wicked man doing sin; and a just or rightwise man shall praise, and make joy.

⁷ A just or rightwise man knoweth the cause of poor men; and an unpious man knoweth not knowing.

⁸ Men full of pestilence destroy a city; but wise men turn away strong vengeance.

⁹ If a wise man striveth with a fool, whether he be wroth, or laugh, he shall not find rest.

¹⁰ Men-quellers hate a simple man; but just or rightwise men seek his soul.

¹¹ A fool bringeth forth all his spirit; a wise man delayeth, and reserveth into time coming afterward.

¹² A prince that heareth willfully the words of leasing, shall have all his servants unfaithful.

¹³ A poor man and a lender met themselves; the Lord is the lightener of ever either.

¹⁴ If a king deemeth poor men in truth, his throne shall be made steadfast into without end.

¹⁵ A rod and chastising or discipline shall give wisdom; but a child, that is left to his own will, shameth his mother.

¹² A prince that heareth willfully the words of leasing, shall have all his servants unfaithful. (A ruler who willingly listeneth to lies, shall have servants who all be unfaithful./If a ruler willingly listeneth to lies, then all of his servants shall be unfaithful.)

¹³ A poor man and a lender met themselves; the Lord is the lightener of ever either. (A poor person and a lender met together; the Lord lighteneth the burdens of both of them.)

¹⁴ If a king deemeth poor men in truth, his throne shall be made steadfast into without end. (If a king judgeth the poor with honesty, his throne shall be made secure forever.)

¹⁵ A rod and chastising shall give wisdom; but a child, that is left to his own will, shameth his mother.

⁵ A man taking a portion above his neighbour, Spreadeth a net for his own steps.

⁶ In the transgression of the evil is a snare, And the righteous doth sing and rejoice.

¹⁰ Men of blood hate the perfect, And the upright seek his soul.

¹¹ A fool bringeth out all his mind, And the wise till afterwards restraineth it.

¹² A ruler who is attending to lying words, All his ministers are wicked.

¹³ The poor and the man of frauds have met together, Jehovah is enlightening the eyes of them both.

¹⁴ a king that is judging truly the poor, His throne for ever is established.

¹⁵ A rod and reproof give wisdom, And a youth let away is shaming his mother.
