¹⁷ Correct thy son, and he will give thee rest; Yea, he will give delight unto thy soul.

¹⁸ Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

¹⁹ A servant will not be corrected by words; For though he understand, he will not give heed.

²⁰ Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? There is more hope of a fool than of him.

²¹ He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child Shall have him become a son at the last.

²² An angry man stirreth up strife, And a wrathful man aboundeth in transgression.

²³ A man’s pride shall bring him low; But he that is of a lowly spirit shall obtain honor.

¹⁸ When the people of a nation do not receive messages that come directly from God, they do not control their behavior. God is pleased with those who obey his laws.

¹⁹ It is not possible to correct/discipline servants only by talking to them; they understand what you are saying, but they do not pay attention to it.

²⁰ God can help/bless foolish people more easily RHQ than he can help/bless people who speak without thinking first.

²¹ If someone gives his servants everything that they want, starting from when they are young, some day those servants will take from him everything that he owns.

²² Those who quickly become angry cause many arguments, and they also commit many sins.

²³ Proud people will be disgraced; those who are humble will be respected.

²⁴ Those who help thieves to steal only hurt themselves; when they are in court, they solemnly ask God to curse them if they do not tell the truth, but they do not tell the truth about the crime that was committed, and as a result, God will curse them.

²⁵ It is like a dangerous trap MET for people to be ◄afraid of/worried about► what others will think about them, but those who trust in Yahweh are safe/protected.

²⁶ Many people request rulers to do things to help them, but Yahweh is the only one who surely does for people what is fair/just.

²⁷ Righteous people hate/detest those who do what is evil, and wicked people hate those whose behavior is always good.

²¹ He that delicately bringeth up his servant from a child shall have him at length become his son.

²⁷ An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.

²³ Lowness followeth a proud man; and glory shall up-take a meek man of spirit.

²⁴ He that taketh part with a thief, hateth his soul; he heareth a man charging greatly, and showeth not.

²⁵ He that dreadeth a man, shall fall soon; he that hopeth in the Lord, shall be raised up.

²⁶ Many men seek the face of the prince; and the doom of all men shall go forth of the Lord.

²⁷ Just or Rightwise men have abomination of a wicked man; and wicked men have abomination of them, that be in a rightful or the right way.

²⁰ Thou hast seen a man swift to speak; folly shall be hoped more than his amending. (Thou hast seen a person quick to speak; more shall be hoped of from a fool, than for that person’s correction.)

²¹ He that nourisheth his servant delicately from childhood, shall find him (a) rebel afterward. (He who delicately careth for his servant from childhood, shall find him to be rebellious later.)

²² A wrathful man stirreth chidings; and he that is light to have indignation, shall be more inclined to sins. (An angry person stirreth up arguments; and he who is quick to have indignation, shall be more inclined to sin.)

²³ Lowness followeth a proud man; and glory shall up-take a meek man of spirit. (Lowness followeth the proud; but honour shall come to those with a humble spirit.)

²⁴ He that taketh part with a thief, hateth his soul; he heareth a man charging greatly, and showeth not. (He who taketh part with a thief, hateth his own soul; he heareth someone telling many lies, but he declareth it not.)

²⁵ He that dreadeth a man, shall fall soon; he that hopeth in the Lord, shall be raised up. (He who feareth someone, shall soon fall; but he who hopeth in the Lord, shall be raised up.)

²⁶ Many men seek the face of the prince; and the doom of all men shall go forth of the Lord. (Many people seek favour from a leader; but for all people judgement, or justice, shall come from the Lord.)

²⁷ Just men have abomination of a wicked man; and wicked men have abomination of them, that be in a rightful way. (The righteous have abomination for the wicked; and the wicked have abomination for those who be on the right way.)

¹⁷ Chastise thy son, and he giveth thee comfort, Yea, he giveth delights to thy soul.

¹⁸ Without a Vision is a people made naked, And whoso is keeping the law, O his happiness!

¹⁹ By words a servant is not instructed though he understand, And there is nothing answering.

²⁰ Thou hast seen a man hasty in his words! More hope of a fool than of him.

²¹ Whoso is bringing up his servant delicately, from youth, At his latter end also he is continuator.

²⁵ Fear of man causeth a snare, And the confident in Jehovah is set on high.

²⁶ Many are seeking the face of a ruler, And from Jehovah is the judgment of each.

²⁷ An abomination to the righteous is the perverse man, And an abomination to the wicked is the upright in the way!
