¹⁶ These are they that were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.

¹⁷ And Moses and Aaron took these men that are mentioned by name:

¹⁸ and they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

¹⁹ As Jehovah commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

²⁰ And the children of Reuben, Israel’s first-born, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

¹⁶ These were famous men of the congregation, heads of the tribes according to their families: these are heads of thousands in Israel.

¹⁷ And Moses and Aaron took these men who were called by name.

¹⁸ And they assembled all the congregation on the first day of the month in the second year; and they registered them after their lineage, after their families, after the number of their names, from twenty years old and upwards, every male according to their number:

¹⁹ as the Lord commanded Moses, so they were numbered in the wilderness of Sina.

²⁰ And the sons of Ruben the first-born of Israel according to their kindreds, according to their divisions, according to the houses of their families, according to the number of their names, according to their heads, were—all males from twenty years old and upward, every one that went out with the host—

¹⁶ These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.

¹⁷ And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:

¹⁶ Those were the men whom Yahweh chose from the people. They were leaders of their tribes. They were the chief men of the clans of the Israeli people.

¹⁷ Aaron and Moses/I summoned all these leaders,

¹⁸ and they gathered all of the people together on that same day. They listed/wrote down the names of all the men who were at least 20 years old, and with their names they wrote the names of their clans and their family groups

¹⁹ just as Moses/I had commanded. They wrote the names while ◄the Israelis/we► were there in the Sinai Desert.

²⁰ This is a list of the number of men who were at least twenty years old and able to fight in battles, and the names of their tribes: There were 46,500 men from the tribe of Reuben (who was Jacob's oldest son); there were 59,300 men from the tribe of Simeon; there were 45,560 men from the tribe of Gad; there were 74,600 men from the tribe of Judah; there were 54,400 men from the tribe of Issachar; there were 57,400 men from the tribe of Zebulun; there were 40,500 men from the tribe of Ephraim; there were 32,200 men from the tribe of Manasseh; there were 35,400 men from the tribe of Benjamin; there were 62,700 men from the tribe of Dan; there were 41,500 men from the tribe of Asher; there were 53,400 men from the tribe of Naphtali.

¹⁶ These were famous men of the congregation, heads of the tribes according to their families: these are heads of thousands in Israel.

¹⁷ And Moses and Aaron took these men who were called by name.

¹⁷ And Moses and Aaron took these men, marked out by name;

¹⁸ And they got together all the people on the first day of the second month; and everyone made clear his family and his father's house, by the number of the names, from twenty years old and over.

¹⁹ As the Lord had given orders to Moses, so they were numbered by him in the waste place of Sinai.

²⁰ The generations of the sons of Reuben, the oldest son of Israel, were numbered by their families and their fathers' houses, every male of twenty years old and over, who was able to go to war;

¹⁶ These were those summoned of the assembly, princes of the tribes of their fathers, the heads of the thousands of Israel.

¹⁷ And Moses and Aaron took these men who are expressed by their names,

¹⁸ and gathered the whole assembly together on the first of the second month. And they declared their pedigrees after their families, according to their fathers' houses, by the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, according to their polls.

¹⁹ As Jehovah had commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

²⁰ And the sons of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, their generations, after their families, according to their fathers' houses, by the number of the names, according to their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that went forth to military service:

¹⁶ These are the most noble princes of the multitude by their tribes and kindreds, and the chiefs of the army of Israel:

¹⁷ Whom Moses and Aaron took with all the multitude of the common people:

¹⁸ And assembled them on the first day of the second month, reckoning them up by the kindreds, and houses, and families, and heads, and names of every one from twenty years old and upward,

¹⁹ As the Lord had commanded Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.

²⁰ Of Ruben the eldest son of Israel, by their generations and families and houses and names of every head, all that were of the male sex, from twenty years old and upward, that were able to go forth to war,

¹⁶ These were the men chosen from the Israelite community. They were the leaders of their fathers' tribes; the heads of the families of Israel.

¹⁷ Moses and Aaron summoned these men who had been selected by name.

¹⁸ They had all the Israelites gather together on the first day of the second month, and recorded the people's genealogy according to their tribe and family, and counted up the names of all those aged twenty or older,

¹⁹ as the Lord had told Moses to do. Moses conducted this census in the Sinai desert.

²⁰ The descendants of Reuben, (he was Israel's firstborn son), men aged twenty or over, were recorded by name according to the genealogical records of their tribe and families. All those registered who could serve in the army

¹⁸ And they called all the Congregation together, in the first day of the second moneth, who declared their kindreds by their families, and by the houses of their fathers, according to the nomber of their names, from twentie yere olde and aboue, man by man.

¹⁹ As the Lord had commanded Moses, so he nombred them in the wildernesse of Sinai.

²⁰ So were the sonnes of Reuben Israels eldest sonne by their generations, by their families, and by the houses of their fathers, according to the nomber of their names, man by man euery male from twentie yere olde and aboue, as many as went forth to warre:

¹⁶ These were the elect of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.

¹⁷ And Moses and Aaron took these men that are pointed out by name.

¹⁸ And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by their fathers' houses, according to the number of names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

¹⁶ These were the men appointed from the people. They led their ancestors' tribes. They were the leaders of the clans in Israel.

¹⁷ Moses and Aaron took these men, who were recorded by name,

¹⁸ and along with these men they assembled all the men of Israel on the first day of the second month. Then each man twenty years old and older identified his ancestry. He had to name the clans and families descended from his ancestors.

¹⁹ Then Moses recorded their numbers in the wilderness of Sinai, as Yahweh had commanded him to do.

²⁰ From the descendants of Reuben, Israel's firstborn, were counted all the names of each and every man twenty years old or older able to go to war, from the records of their ancestor's clans and families.

²⁰ And of Reuben, the first begotten of Israel, were numbered, in the desert of Sinai, or Of Reuben, the first begotten of Israel, by their generations, and meines, and houses, and by the names of all the heads, all thing that is of male kind, from twenty years and above, of men going forth to battle,

¹⁹ as the Lord commanded to Moses, (and so he numbered them there in the Sinai Desert).

¹⁹ as the Lord comaundide to Moises.

¹⁸ and all the company they assembled on the first of the second month, and they declare their births, by their families, by the house of their fathers, in the number of names from a son of twenty years and upward, by their polls,

¹⁹ as Jehovah hath commanded Moses; and he numbereth them in the wilderness of Sinai.
