¹ And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

² The children of Israel shall encamp every man by his own standard, with the ensigns of their fathers’ houses: over against the tent of meeting shall they encamp round about.

³ And those that encamp on the east side toward the sunrising shall be they of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their hosts: and the prince of the children of Judah shall be Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

⁴ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.

⁵ And those that encamp next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar: and the prince of the children of Issachar shall be Nethanel the son of Zuar.

⁶ And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred.

⁷ And the tribe of Zebulun: and the prince of the children of Zebulun shall be Eliab the son of Helon.

⁸ And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.

⁹ All that were numbered of the camp of Judah were a hundred thousand and fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, according to their hosts. They shall set forth first.

¹⁰ On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their hosts: and the prince of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.

¹² And those that encamp next unto him shall be the tribe of Simeon: and the prince of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

¹³ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.

¹⁴ And the tribe of Gad: and the prince of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

¹⁵ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

¹⁶ All that were numbered of the camp of Reuben were a hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, according to their hosts. And they shall set forth second.

¹⁷ Then the tent of meeting shall set forward, with the camp of the Levites in the midst of the camps: as they encamp, so shall they set forward, every man in his place, by their standards.

¹⁸ On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their hosts: and the prince of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.

¹⁹ And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred.

²⁰ And next unto him shall be the tribe of Manasseh: and the prince of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

²⁵ On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan according to their hosts: and the prince of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

³ And they that encamp first toward the east shall be the order of the camp of Juda with their host, and the prince of the sons of Juda, Naasson the son of Aminadab.

⁴ His forces that were numbered, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.

⁵ And they that encamp next shall be of the tribe of Issachar, and the prince of the sons of Issachar shall be Nathanael the son of Sogar.

⁶ His forces that were numbered, were fifty-four thousand and four hundred.

⁷ And they that encamp next shall be of the tribe of Zabulon, and the prince of the sons of Zabulon shall be Eliab the son of Chælon.

⁸ His forces that were numbered, were fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.

⁹ All that were numbered of the camp of Juda were a hundred and eighty thousand and six thousand and four hundred: they shall move first with their forces.

¹⁰ This is the order of the camp of Ruben; their forces shall be toward the south, and the prince of the children of Ruben shall be Elisur the son of Sediur.

¹² And they that encamp next to him shall be of the tribe of Symeon, and the prince of the sons of Symeon shall be Salamiel the son of Surisadai.

¹⁴ And they that encamp next to them shall be the tribe of Gad; and the prince of the sons of Gad, Elisaph the son of Raguel.

¹⁵ His forces that were numbered, were forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

¹⁶ All who were numbered of the camp of Ruben, were a hundred and fifty-one thousand and four hundred and fifty: they with their forces shall proceed in the second place.

¹⁷ And then the tabernacle of witness shall be set forward, and the camp of the Levites shall be between the camps; as they shall encamp, so also shall they commence their march, each one next in order to his fellow according to their companies.

¹⁸ The station of the camp of Ephraim shall be westward with their forces, and the head of the children of Ephraim shall be Elisama the son of Emiud.

¹ Then Yahweh said this to Aaron and Moses/me:

² “When the Israelis set up their tents, they should set them up in areas that surround the Sacred Tent, but not close to it. The people of each tribe must set up their tents in a different area. Each tribe must erect in that area a banner of their own clan and a flag that represents their tribe.

³ The people of the tribes of Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun must set up their tents on the east side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of soldiers whom they will lead: Nahshon, the son of Amminadab, will be the leader of the 74,600 men of the tribe of Judah.

⁵ Nethanel, the son of Zuar, will be the leader of the 54,500 men of the tribe of Issachar.

⁷ Eliab, the son of Helon, will be the leader of the 57,400 men of the tribe of Zebulun.

⁹ So there will be 86,400 troops on the east side of the Sacred Tent. Whenever the Israelis move to a new location, those three tribes must go in front of the others.

¹⁰ The tribes of Reuben, Simeon, and Gad must set up their tents on the south side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of men whom they will lead: Elizur, the son of Shedeur, will be the leader of the 46,500 men of the tribe of Reuben.

¹² Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai, will be the leader of the 59,300 men of the tribe of Simeon.

¹⁴ Eliasaph, the son of Deuel, will be the leader of the 45,650 men of the tribe of Gad.

¹⁶ So there will be 151,450 troops on the south side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will follow the first group when the Israelis travel.

¹⁷ Behind that group will walk the descendants of Levi, who will carry the Sacred Tent. The Israelis will march in the same order that they always set up their tents. Each tribe will carry its own flag.

¹⁸ The tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, and Benjamin must set up their tents on the west side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and number of men whom they will lead: Elishama, the son of Ammihud, will be the leader of the 40,500 men of the tribe of Ephraim.

²⁰ Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur, will be the leader of the 32,200 men of the tribe of Manasseh.

²² Abidan, the son of Gideoni, will be the leader of the 35,400 men of the tribe of Benjamin.

²⁴ So there will be 108,100 troops on the west side of the Sacred Tent. Those three tribes will follow the second group, behind the descendants of Levi.

²⁵ The tribes of Dan, Asher, and Naphtali must set up their tents on the north side of the Sacred Tent, close to their tribal flags. These are the names of the leaders of those tribes and the number of men whom they will lead: Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai, will be the leader of the 62,700 men of the tribe of Dan.

¹⁴ “The tribe of Gad: the prince of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

¹⁷ “Then the Tent of Meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps. As they encamp, so shall they set out, every man in his place, by their standards.

³ Those who encamp on the east side toward the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Judah shall be Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

³ Those whose tents are on the east side, looking to the dawn, will be round the flag of the children of Judah, with Nahshon, the son of Amminadab, as their chief.

⁴ The number of his army was seventy-four thousand, six hundred.

⁵ And nearest to him will be the tribe of Issachar, with Nethanel, the son of Zuar, as their chief.

¹⁷ Then the Tent of meeting is to go forward, with the tents of the Levites, in the middle of the armies; in the same order as their tents are placed, they are to go forward, every man under his flag.

¹⁸ On the west side will be the flag of the children of Ephraim, with Elishama, the son of Ammihud, as their chief.

⁵ And those that encamp next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar; and the prince of the sons of Issachar shall be Nethaneel the son of Zuar;

² All the children of Israel shall camp by their troops, ensigns, and standards, and the houses of their kindreds, round about the tabernacle of the covenant.

³ On the east Juda shall pitch his tents by the bands of his army: and the prince of his sons shall be Nahasson the son of Aminadab.

⁴ And the whole sum of the fighting men of his stock, were seventy-four thousand six hundred.

⁵ Next unto him they of the tribe of Issachar encamped, whose prince was Nathanael, the son of Suar.

⁶ And the whole number of his fighting men were fifty-four thousand four hundred.

⁷ In the tribe of Zabulon the prince was Eliab the son of Helon.

⁸ And all the army of fighting men of his stock, were fifty-seven thousand four hundred.

¹⁰ In the camp of the sons of Ruben, on the south side, the prince shall be Elisur the son of Sedeur:

¹¹ And the whole army of his fighting men, that were numbered, were forty-six thousand five hundred.

¹² Beside him camped they of the tribe of Simeon: whose prince was Salamiel the son of Surisaddai.

¹³ And the whole army of his fighting men, that were numbered, were fifty-nine thousand three hundred.

¹⁴ In the tribe of Gad the prince was Eliasaph the son of Duel.

¹⁵ And the whole army of his fighting men that were numbered, were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty.

¹⁶ All that were reckoned up in the camp of Ruben, were a hundred and fifty-one thousand four hundred and fifty, by their troops: they shall march in the second place.

¹⁷ And the tabernacle of the testimony shall be carried by the officers of the Levites and their troops. As it shall be set up, so shall it be taken down. Every one shall march according to their places, and ranks.

¹⁸ On the west side shall be the camp of the sons of Ephraim, whose prince was Elisama, the son of Ammiud.

¹⁹ The whole army of his fighting men, that were numbered, were forty thousand five hundred.

²⁰ And with them the tribe of the sons of Manasses, whose prince was Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.

²¹ And the whole army of his fighting men, that were numbered, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

²² In the tribe of the sons of Benjamin the prince was Abidan the son of Gedeon.

²³ And the whole army of his fighting men, that were reckoned up, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

²⁴ All that were numbered in the camp of Ephraim, were a hundred and eight thousand one hundred by their troops: they shall march in the third place.

²⁵ On the north side camped the sons of Dan: whose prince was Ahiezar the son of Ammisaddai.

¹ The Lord told Moses and Aaron,

² “The Israelites are to set up their camp around the Tent of Meeting but some distance from it. Every member of each tribe will camp under their own flag and family banner.

³ The tribal division of Judah is to camp under their flag on the east side. Their leader is Nahshon, son of Amminadab,

⁴ and he has 74,600 men.

⁵ The tribe of Issachar will camp next to them. Their leader is Nethanel, son of Zuar,

⁶ and he has 54,400 men.

⁷ Next is the tribe of Zebulun. Their leader is Eliab, son of Helon,

⁸ and he has 57,400 men.

⁹ So the total number of men in the area of the camp of Judah is 186,400. When it's time to march out, they are the ones who will lead.

¹⁰ The tribal division of Reuben is to camp under their flag on the south side. Their leader is Elizur, son of Shedeur,

¹¹ and he has 46,500 men.

¹² The tribe of Simeon will camp next to them. Their leader is Shelumiel, son of Zurishaddai,

¹³ and he has 59,300 men.

¹⁴ Next is the tribe of Gad. Their leader is Eliasaph, son of Deuel,

¹⁵ and he has 45,650 men.

¹⁶ So the total number of men in the area of the camp of Reuben is 151,450. They shall march out in second place.

¹⁷ The Tent of Meeting which is stands at the center of the camp is to accompany the Levites. They are to march out in the same order as they set up camp, each in their rightful place under their flag.

¹⁸ The tribal division of Ephraim is to camp under their flag on the west side. Their leader is Elishama, son of Ammihud,

¹⁹ and he has 40,500 men.

²⁰ The tribe of Manasseh will camp next to them. Their leader is Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur,

²¹ and he has 32,200 men.

²² Next is the tribe of Benjamin. Their leader is Abidan, son of Gideoni,

²³ and he has 35,400 men.

²⁴ So the total number of men in the area of the camp of Ephraim is 108,100. They shall march out in third place

²⁵ The tribal division of Dan is to camp under their flag on the north side. Their leader is Ahiezer, son of Ammishaddai,

¹ And the Lord spake vnto Moses, and to Aaron, saying,

² Euery man of the children of Israel shall campe by his standerd, and vnder the ensigne of their fathers house: farre off about the Tabernacle of the Congregation shall they pitch.

³ On the East side towarde the rising of the sunne, shall they of the standerd of the hoste of Iudah pitch according to their armies: and Nahshon the sonne of Amminadab shalbe captaine of the sonnes of Iudah.

⁴ And his hoste and the nomber of the were seuentie and foure thousande and sixe hundreth.

⁵ Next vnto him shall they of the tribe of Issachar pitch, and Nethaneel the sonne of Zuar shalbe the captaine of the sonnes of Issachar:

⁶ And his hoste, and the nomber thereof were foure and fiftie thousand, and foure hundreth.

⁷ Then the tribe of Zebulun, and Eliab the sonne of Helon, captaine ouer the sonnes of Zebulun:

⁸ And his hoste, and the nomber thereof seuen and fiftie thousand and foure hundreth:

⁹ The whole nomber of the hoste of Iudah are an hundreth fourescore and sixe thousande, and foure hundreth according to their armies: they shall first set foorth.

¹⁵ And his host and the nomber of the were fiue and fourtye thousande, sixe hundreth and fiftie.

¹⁶ All the nomber of the campe of Reuben were an hundreth and one and fiftie thousande, and foure hundreth and fiftie according to their armies, and they shall set foorth in the seconde place.

¹⁷ Then the Tabernacle of the Congregation shall goe with the host of the Leuites, in the mids of the campe as they haue pitched, so shall they goe forwarde, euery man in his order according to their standerds.

¹⁸ The standerd of the campe of Ephraim shalbe toward the west according to their armies: and ye captaine ouer the sonnes of Ephraim shall be Elishama the sonne of Ammihud:

¹⁸ The station of the camp of Ephraim shall be westward with their forces, and the head of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.

² “Each one of the Israelites must camp around his standard, with the banners of their fathers' houses. They will camp around the tent of meeting on every side.

³ Those will be camping on the east of the tent of meeting, where the sun rises, they are the camp of Judah and they are camping under their standard. Nahshon son of Amminadab is the leader of the people of Judah.

⁴ The number of the people of Judah is 74,600.

⁵ The tribe of Issachar must camp next to Judah. Nethanel son of Zuar must lead the army of Issachar.

⁶ The number in his division is 54,400 men.

⁷ The tribe of Zebulun must camp next to Issachar. Eliab son of Helon must lead the army of Zebulun.

⁸ The number in his division is 57,400.

⁹ All the number of the camp of Judah is 186,400. They will set out first.

¹⁰ On the south side will be the camp of Reuben under their standard. The leader of the camp of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur.

¹¹ The number in his division is 46,500.

¹² Simeon is camping next to Reuben. The leader of the people of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

¹⁷ “Then the Tent of Meeting shall set out, with the camp of the Levites in the middle of the camps. As they encamp, so shall they set out, every man in his place, by their standards.

¹⁸ “On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud.

¹⁹ His division, and those who were counted of them, were forty thousand five hundred.

²⁰ “Next to him shall be the tribe of Manasseh. The prince of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

²¹ His division, and those who were counted of them, were thirty-two thousand two hundred.

²² “The tribe of Benjamin: the prince of the children of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni.

²³ His army, and those who were counted of them, were thirty-five thousand four hundred.

²⁴ “All who were counted of the camp of Ephraim were one hundred eight thousand one hundred, according to their divisions. They shall set out third.

²⁵ “On the north side shall be the standard of the camp of Dan according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

¹ The LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

² “The children of Israel shall encamp every man by his own standard, with the banners of their fathers’ houses. They shall encamp around the Tent of Meeting at a distance from it.”

³ Those who encamp on the east side towards the sunrise shall be of the standard of the camp of Judah, according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Judah shall be Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

⁴ His division, and those who were counted of them, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.

⁵ Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Issachar. The prince of the children of Issachar shall be Nethanel the son of Zuar.

⁶ His division, and those who were counted of it, were fifty-four thousand and four hundred.

⁷ The tribe of Zebulun: the prince of the children of Zebulun shall be Eliab the son of Helon.

⁸ His division, and those who were counted of it, were fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.

⁹ All who were counted of the camp of Judah were one hundred and eighty-six thousand and four hundred, according to their divisions. They shall set out first.

¹⁰ “On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their divisions. The prince of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur.

¹¹ His division, and those who were counted of it, were forty-six thousand and five hundred.

¹² “Those who encamp next to him shall be the tribe of Simeon. The prince of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

¹³ His division, and those who were counted of them, were fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.

¹⁴ “The tribe of Gad: the prince of the children of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

¹⁵ His division, and those who were counted of them, were forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

¹⁶ “All who were counted of the camp of Reuben were one hundred and fifty-one thousand and four hundred and fifty, according to their armies. They shall set out second.

⁷ Eliab, the son of Helon, was prince of the lineage of Zebulun;

⁸ all the host of fighters of his kindred, seven and fifty thousand and four hundred.

⁹ All that were numbered in the tents of Judah, were an hundred thousand and fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred; and they shall go out first by their companies.

¹¹ and all the host of his fighters, that were numbered, six and forty thousand and five hundred.

¹² Men of the lineage of Simeon setted tents beside him, of which the prince was Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai;

¹³ and all the host of his fighters, that were numbered, nine and fifty thousand and three hundred.

¹⁴ Eliasaph, the son of Reuel, was prince in the lineage of Gad;

¹⁵ and all the host of his fighters, that were numbered, five and forty thousand and six hundred and fifty.

¹⁶ All that were numbered of the tents of Reuben, an hundred thousand and fifty thousand and one thousand and four hundred and fifty; they shall go forth in the second place by their companies.

¹⁷ Soothly the tabernacle of witnessing shall be raised up by the offices of deacons or Levites, and by their companies; as it shall be raised up by them, so it shall be taken down by them; all they shall go forth by their places and orders.

²¹ all the host of his fighters, that were numbered, were two and thirty thousand and two hundred.

²² In the lineage of the sons of Benjamin, the prince was Abidan, the son of Gideoni;

²³ and all the host of his fighters, that were numbered, were five and thirty thousand and four hundred.

²⁵ At the north coast the sons of Dan setted tents, of which the prince was Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai;

¹ And the Lord spake to Moses and to Aaron, and said,

⁶ and al the noumbre of hise fiyteris, foure and fifti thousynde and foure hundrid.

⁷ Eliab, the sone of Elon, was prince of the lynage of Zabulon;

⁸ al the oost of fiyteris of his kynrede, seuene and fifti thousynde and foure hundrid.

⁹ Alle that weren noumbrid in the castels of Judas, weren an hundrid thousynde `foure scoore thousynde and sixe and foure hundrid; and thei schulen go out the firste bi her cumpanyes.

¹⁰ In the castels of the sones of Ruben, at the south coost, Elisur, the sone of Sedeur, schal be prince; and al the oost of hise fiyteris,

¹¹ that weren noumbrid, sixe and fourti thousynde and fyue hundrid.

¹² Men of the lynage of Symeon settiden tentis bisidis hym, of whiche the prince was Salamyhel, the sone of Surisaddai; and al the oost of hise fiyteris,

¹³ that weren noumbrid, nyne and fifty thousynde and thre hundrid.

¹⁴ Eliasaph, sone of Duel, was prince in the lynage of Gad; and al the oost of his fiyteris,

¹⁵ that weren noumbrid, fyue and fourti thousynde sixe hundrid and fifti.

¹⁶ Alle that weren noumbrid in the castels of Ruben, an hundrid thousynde fifty thousinde and a thousinde foure hundrid and fifty; thei schulen go forth in the secounde place bi her cumpenyes.

¹⁷ Sotheli the tabernacle of witnessyng schal be reisid bi the offices of dekenes, and bi the cumpenyes `of hem; as it schal be reisid, so and it schal be takun doun; alle schulen go forth bi her places and ordris.

¹⁸ The castels of the sones of Effraym schulen be at the west coost, of whiche the prince was Elisama, the sone of Amyud;

²² In the lynage of the sones of Beniamyn the prince was Abidan, the sone of Gedeon;

²³ and al the oost of hise fiyteris, that weren noumbrid, fyue and thretti thousynde and foure hundrid.

² 'Each by his standard, with ensigns of the house of their fathers, do the sons of Israel encamp; over-against round about the tent of meeting they encamp.'

³ And those encamping eastward towards the sun-rising, are of the standard of the camp of Judah, by their hosts; and the prince of the sons of Judah is Nahshon, son of Amminadab;

⁴ and his host, and their numbered ones, are four and seventy thousand and six hundred.

⁵ And those encamping by him are of the tribe of Issachar; and the prince of the sons of Issachar is Nethaneel son of Zuar;

⁶ and his host, and its numbered ones, are four and fifty thousand and four hundred.

¹² And those encamping by him are of the tribe of Simeon; and the prince of the sons of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;

¹³ and his host, and their numbered ones, are nine and fifty thousand and three hundred.

¹⁷ And the tent of meeting — the camp of the Levites — hath journeyed in the midst of the camps; as they encamp so they journey, each at his station by their standards.

¹⁸ The standard of the camp of Ephraim, by their hosts, is westward; and the prince of the sons of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud;

¹⁹ and his host, and their numbered ones, are forty thousand and five hundred.

²⁰ And by him is the tribe of Manasseh; and the prince of the sons of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;

²¹ and his host, and their numbered ones, are two and thirty thousand, and two hundred.

²² And the tribe of Benjamin; and the prince of the sons of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni;

²³ and his host, and their numbered ones, are five and thirty thousand and four hundred.
