Numbers 26:1-6 in English

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁴ Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as Jehovah commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the first-born of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶ of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, every one that goes forth to battle in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

⁴ This is the numbering from twenty years old and upward as the Lord commanded Moses. And the sons of Israel that came out of Egypt are as follows:

⁵ Ruben was the first-born of Israel: and the sons of Ruben, Enoch, and the family of Enoch; to Phallu belongs the family of the Phalluites.

⁶ To Asron, the family of Asroni: to Charmi, the family of Charmi.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying,

⁵ Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch, of whom cometh the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:

⁶ Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

¹ After the plague ended, Yahweh said to Eleazar and Moses/me,

² “Count all the people of Israel again. Write down the names of all the men who are at least 20 years old who are able to fight in battles, along with their family names.”

³ So while the Israelis were on the plains where the Moab people-group lived, Eleazar and Moses/I told this to the Israeli leaders:

⁴ “Write down the names of all the Israeli men who are at least 20 years old, as Yahweh has commanded us.” So they did that, and this is a record of all the descendants of Jacob who came out of Egypt who were still alive.

⁵ They counted 43,730 men from the tribe of Reuben, Jacob's oldest son. They were in clans descended from Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, every one that goes forth to battle in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

³ Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁴ “Take a census, from twenty years old and upward, as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel.” These are those who came out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the firstborn of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

¹ Now after the disease was over, the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest,

² Let all the children of Israel be numbered, by the names of their fathers' families, all those of twenty years old and over who are able to go to war in Israel.

³ So Moses and Eleazar the priest gave them the order in the lowlands of Moab by Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁴ Let all the people of twenty years old and over be numbered, as the Lord has given orders to Moses and the children of Israel who have come out of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the first son of Israel: the sons of Reuben by their families: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:

⁶ Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of the whole assembly of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to their fathers' houses, all that go forth to military service in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

⁴ From twenty years old and upward...; as Jehovah had commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: the children of Reuben: of Enoch, the family of the Enochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶ of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

¹ After the blood of the guilty was shed, the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron, the priest:

² Number the whole sum of the children of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their houses and kindreds, all that are able to go forth to war.

³ Moses therefore and Eleazar the priest, being in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho, spoke to them that were

⁴ From twenty years old and upward, as the Lord had commanded: and this is the number of them:

⁵ Ruben the firstborn of Israel. His sons were Henoch, of whom is the family of the Henochites: and Phallu, of whom is the family of the Phalluites:

⁶ And Hesron, of whom is the family of the Hesronites: and Charmi, of whom is the family of the Charmites.

¹ After the plague was over, the Lord told Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest,

² “Census all the Israelites by family—all those twenty years of age or older who are eligible for military service in the army of Israel.”

³ There on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan opposite Jericho, Moses and Eleazar the priest gave the order,

⁴ “Census the men twenty years of age or older, following the instructions the Lord gave to Moses.” The following is the genealogical record of those who left the land of Egypt.

⁵ These were the descendants of Reuben, Israel's firstborn: Hanoch, ancestor of the Hanochite family; Pallu, ancestor of the Palluite family;

⁶ Hezron, ancestor of the Hezronite family; and Carmi, ancestor of the Carmite family.

¹ And so after the plague, the Lord spake vnto Moses, and to Eleazar the sonne of Aaron the Priest, saying,

² Take the nomber of all the Congregation of the children of Israel from twentie yeere olde and aboue throughout their fathers houses, all that go forth to warre in Israel.

³ So Moses and Eleazar the Priest spake vnto them in the plaine of Moab, by Iorden towarde Iericho, saying,

⁴ From twentie yeere olde and aboue ye shall nomber the people, as the Lord had commanded Moses, and the childre of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben the first borne of Israel: the children of Reube were: Hanoch, of whom came the familie of the Hanochites, and of Pallu the familie of the Palluites:

⁶ Of Hesron, the familie of the Hesronites: of Carmi, the familie of the Carmites.

¹ (25-19) And it came to pass after the plague, (26-1) that the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying:

² 'Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.'

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying:

⁴ 'Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward, as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.'

⁴ Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben, of Chanoch, the family of the Chanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶ Of Chezron, the family of the Chezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, everyone that goes forth to battle in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

⁴ This is the numbering from twenty years old and upward as the Lord commanded Moses. And the sons of Israel that came out of Egypt are as follows:

¹ that the Lord spake to Mosheh and to Elazar bar Aharon the priest, saying:

² Take the account of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, from a son of twenty years and upwards by the house of their fathers, everyone that goeth out with the host in Israel.

³ And Mosheh and Elazar the priest spake with them, and directed to number them in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan (over against) Jericho, saying:

⁴ From a son of twenty years and upward, as the Lord commanded Mosheh, and the sons of Israel who went forth from the land of Mizraim.

⁵ Reuben, the first-born of Israel: the sons of Reuben, Hanok, the family of Hanok; Phallu, and the family of Phallu;

⁶ of Hezron, the family of Hezron; of Karmi, the family of Karmi.

¹ After the plague, Adonai spoke to Moses Drawn out and to Eleazar Help of God the son of Aaron Light-bringer the priest, saying,

² “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel God prevails, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel God prevails.”

³ Moses Drawn out and Eleazar Help of God the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab From father by the Jordan Descender at Jericho Fragrant, Moon, saying,

⁴ “Take a census, from twenty years old and upward; as Adonai enjoined Moses Drawn out and the children of Israel God prevails.” These are those that came out of the land of Egypt Abode of slavery. (2)

⁵ (The census results begin with) Reuben See, a son!, the firstborn of Israel God prevails; the sons of Reuben See, a son!: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶ of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

¹ It came about after the plague that Yahweh spoke to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest. He said,

² “Count all the community of the people of Israel, from twenty years old and up, by their ancestor's families, all who are able to go to war for Israel.”

³ So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke to them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho and said,

⁴ “Count the people, from twenty years old and up, as Yahweh commanded Moses and the people of Israel, who came out of the land of Egypt.”

⁵ Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. From his son Hanok came the clan of the Hanokites. From Pallu came the clan of the Palluites.

⁶ From Hezron came the clan of the Hezronites. From Karmi came the clan of the Karmites.

¹ After the plague, Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel.”

³ Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁴ “Take a census, from twenty years old and upward, as Yahweh commanded Moses and the children of Israel.” These are those who came out of the land of Egypt.

¹ After that the blood of (the) guilty men was shed out, the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar, the priest, the son of Aaron,

² Reckon ye all the number of the sons of Israel, from twenty years and above (or from twenty years of age and older), by their houses, and their kindreds, (yea), all (the) men that be able to go forth to battles.

³ And so Moses and Eleazar, the priest, spake in the field places of Moab, over Jordan, against Jericho, (And so Moses and Eleazar, the priest, spoke on the plains of Moab, across the Jordan River, opposite Jericho,)

⁴ to them that were of twenty years and above (or to those who were twenty years of age and older), as the Lord commanded; of which this is the number.

⁵ Reuben, the first begotten of Israel, (or Reuben, Israel’s first-born); the son of him was Hanoch, of whom came the family of Hanochites; and Pallu, of whom came the family of Palluites;

⁶ and Hezron, of whom came the family of Hezronites; and Carmi, of whom came the family of Carmites.

¹ Aftir that the blood of gilti men was sched out, the Lord seide to Moises and to Eleasar,

² preest, sone of Aaron, Noumbre ye al the summe of the sones of Israel, fro twenti yeer and aboue, bi her housis, and kynredis, alle men that mowen go forth to batels.

³ And so Moises and Eleasar, preest, spaken in the feeldi places of Moab, ouer Jordan, ayens Jerico, to hem that weren of twenti yeer and aboue,

⁴ as the Lord comaundide; of whiche this is the noumbre.

⁵ Ruben, the firste gendrid of Israel; the sone of hym was Enoch, of whom was the meynee of Enochitis; and Phallu, of whom the meynee of Phalluytis; and Esrom,

⁶ of whom the meynee of Esromytis; and Charmy, of whom the meynee of Charmytis.

¹ And it cometh to pass, after the plague, that Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Eleazar son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² 'Take up the sum of all the company of the sons of Israel, from a son of twenty years and upward, by the house of their fathers, every one going out to the host in Israel.'

³ And Moses speaketh — Eleazar the priest also — with them, in the plains of Moab, by Jordan, near Jericho, saying,

⁴ 'From a son of twenty years and upward,' as Jehovah hath commanded Moses and the sons of Israel who are coming out from the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, first-born of Israel — sons of Reuben: of Hanoch is the family of the Hanochite; of Pallu the family of the Palluite;

⁶ of Hezron the family of the Hezronite; of Carmi the family of the Carmite.
