¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁴ Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as Jehovah commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the first-born of Israel; the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶ of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

⁷ These are the families of the Reubenites; and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

⁸ And the sons of Pallu: Eliab.

⁹ And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were called of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against Jehovah,

¹⁰ and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men, and they became a sign.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, every one that goes forth to battle in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

⁴ This is the numbering from twenty years old and upward as the Lord commanded Moses. And the sons of Israel that came out of Egypt are as follows:

⁵ Ruben was the first-born of Israel: and the sons of Ruben, Enoch, and the family of Enoch; to Phallu belongs the family of the Phalluites.

⁶ To Asron, the family of Asroni: to Charmi, the family of Charmi.

⁷ These are the families of Ruben; and their numbering was forty-three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

⁸ And the sons of Phallu were Eliab,—

⁹ and the sons of Eliab, Namuel, and Dathan, and Abiron: these are renowned men of the congregation; these are they that rose up against Moses and Aaron in the gathering of Core, in the rebellion against the Lord.

¹⁰ And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up them and Core, when their assembly perished, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty, and they were made a sign.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

¹⁰ and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men, and they became a sign.

¹ After the plague ended, Yahweh said to Eleazar and Moses/me,

² “Count all the people of Israel again. Write down the names of all the men who are at least 20 years old who are able to fight in battles, along with their family names.”

³ So while the Israelis were on the plains where the Moab people-group lived, Eleazar and Moses/I told this to the Israeli leaders:

⁴ “Write down the names of all the Israeli men who are at least 20 years old, as Yahweh has commanded us.” So they did that, and this is a record of all the descendants of Jacob who came out of Egypt who were still alive.

⁵ They counted 43,730 men from the tribe of Reuben, Jacob's oldest son. They were in clans descended from Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

⁸ Pallu's son was Eliab

⁹ and his grandsons were Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. Dathan and Abiram were the leaders who joined with Korah to conspire against Aaron and Moses/me and rebelled against Yahweh.

¹⁰ But the earth opened up and swallowed them and Korah. Yahweh also sent a fire that burned up 250 men who supported those three men. That was a warning to all the Israeli people that they should respect and obey the leaders whom Yahweh had appointed.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, every one that goes forth to battle in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

¹⁰ and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died; at the time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.

¹ After the plague, Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel.”

³ Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

¹ Now after the disease was over, the Lord said to Moses and Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest,

² Let all the children of Israel be numbered, by the names of their fathers' families, all those of twenty years old and over who are able to go to war in Israel.

³ So Moses and Eleazar the priest gave them the order in the lowlands of Moab by Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁴ Let all the people of twenty years old and over be numbered, as the Lord has given orders to Moses and the children of Israel who have come out of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the first son of Israel: the sons of Reuben by their families: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:

⁶ Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

⁷ These are the families of the Reubenites: their number was forty-three thousand, seven hundred and thirty.

⁸ And the sons of Pallu, Eliab

⁹ And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel and Dathan and Abiram. These are the same Dathan and Abiram who had a place in the meeting of the people, who together with Korah made an outcry against Moses and Aaron and against the Lord:

¹⁰ And they went down into the open mouth of the earth, together with Korah, when death overtook him and all his band; at the time when two hundred and fifty men were burned in the fire, and they became a sign.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of the whole assembly of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to their fathers' houses, all that go forth to military service in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan of Jericho, saying,

⁴ From twenty years old and upward...; as Jehovah had commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the firstborn of Israel: the children of Reuben: of Enoch, the family of the Enochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶ of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

⁷ These are the families of the Reubenites; and they that were numbered of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

⁸ And the sons of Pallu: Eliab;

⁹ and the sons of Eliab were Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This is that Dathan and Abiram, summoned of the assembly, who contended against Moses and against Aaron in the band of Korah, when they contended against Jehovah.

¹⁰ And the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that band died, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign.

¹ After the blood of the guilty was shed, the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar the son of Aaron, the priest:

² Number the whole sum of the children of Israel from twenty years old and upward, by their houses and kindreds, all that are able to go forth to war.

³ Moses therefore and Eleazar the priest, being in the plains of Moab upon the Jordan over against Jericho, spoke to them that were

⁴ From twenty years old and upward, as the Lord had commanded: and this is the number of them:

⁵ Ruben the firstborn of Israel. His sons were Henoch, of whom is the family of the Henochites: and Phallu, of whom is the family of the Phalluites:

⁶ And Hesron, of whom is the family of the Hesronites: and Charmi, of whom is the family of the Charmites.

⁷ These are the families of the stock of Ruben: whose number was found to be forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

⁸ The son of Phallu was Eliab.

⁹ His sons, were Namuel and Dathan and Abiron. These are Dathan and Abiron the princes of the people, that rose against Moses and Aaron in the sedition of Core, when they rebelled against the Lord:

¹⁰ And the earth opening her mouth swallowed up Core, many others dying, when the fire burned two hundred and fifty men. And there was a great miracle wrought,

¹ After the plague was over, the Lord told Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest,

² “Census all the Israelites by family—all those twenty years of age or older who are eligible for military service in the army of Israel.”

³ There on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan opposite Jericho, Moses and Eleazar the priest gave the order,

⁴ “Census the men twenty years of age or older, following the instructions the Lord gave to Moses.” The following is the genealogical record of those who left the land of Egypt.

⁵ These were the descendants of Reuben, Israel's firstborn: Hanoch, ancestor of the Hanochite family; Pallu, ancestor of the Palluite family;

⁶ Hezron, ancestor of the Hezronite family; and Carmi, ancestor of the Carmite family.

⁷ These were the families descended from Reuben and they numbered 43,730.

⁸ Pallu's son was Eliab,

⁹ and Eliab's sons were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. (It was Dathan and Abiram, leaders chosen by the Israelites, who joined the rebellion against Moses and Aaron with the followers of Korah when they rebelled against the Lord.

¹⁰ The earth opened up and swallowed them down, along with Korah. His followers died when the fire burned up 250 men. What happened to them was a warning to the Israelites.

¹ And so after the plague, the Lord spake vnto Moses, and to Eleazar the sonne of Aaron the Priest, saying,

² Take the nomber of all the Congregation of the children of Israel from twentie yeere olde and aboue throughout their fathers houses, all that go forth to warre in Israel.

³ So Moses and Eleazar the Priest spake vnto them in the plaine of Moab, by Iorden towarde Iericho, saying,

⁴ From twentie yeere olde and aboue ye shall nomber the people, as the Lord had commanded Moses, and the childre of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben the first borne of Israel: the children of Reube were: Hanoch, of whom came the familie of the Hanochites, and of Pallu the familie of the Palluites:

⁶ Of Hesron, the familie of the Hesronites: of Carmi, the familie of the Carmites.

⁷ These are the families of the Reubenites: and they were in nomber three and fourtie thousand, seuen hundreth and thirtie.

⁸ And the sonnes of Pallu, Eliab:

⁹ And the sonnes of Eliab, Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram: this Dathan and Abiram were famous in the Congregation, and stroue against Moses and against Aaron in the assemblie of Korah, when they stroue against the Lord.

¹⁰ And the earth opened her mouth, and swalowed them vp with Korah, when the Congregation died, what time the fire consumed, two hundreth and fiftie men, who were for a signe.

¹ (25-19) And it came to pass after the plague, (26-1) that the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying:

² 'Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.'

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying:

⁴ 'Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward, as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.'

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,

² Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by the descent from their fathers, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.

³ And Moses with El'azar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan opposite Jericho, saying,

⁴ Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward; as the Lord commanded Moses and the children of Israel, who went forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁵ Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben, of Chanoch, the family of the Chanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;

⁶ Of Chezron, the family of the Chezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.

⁷ These are the families of the Reubenites; and those that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.

⁸ And the sons of Pallu: Eliab.

⁹ And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are Dathan and Abiram, men called to the assembly, who quarreled against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korach, at the time they quarreled against the Lord;

¹⁰ When the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korach, while that company died, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign.

¹ And it came to pass after the plague, that the Lord spoke to Moses and Eleazar the priest, saying,

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, everyone that goes forth to battle in Israel.

³ And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke in Araboth of Moab at the Jordan by Jericho, saying,

⁴ This is the numbering from twenty years old and upward as the Lord commanded Moses. And the sons of Israel that came out of Egypt are as follows:

¹⁰ And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up them and Korah, when their assembly perished, when the fire devoured the two hundred and fifty, and they were made a sign.

¹ that the Lord spake to Mosheh and to Elazar bar Aharon the priest, saying:

² Take the account of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, from a son of twenty years and upwards by the house of their fathers, everyone that goeth out with the host in Israel.

³ And Mosheh and Elazar the priest spake with them, and directed to number them in the plains of Moab, by the Jordan (over against) Jericho, saying:

⁶ of Hezron, the family of Hezron; of Karmi, the family of Karmi.

⁷ These are the families of Reuben, and they who were numbered of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.

⁸ And of the sons of Phallu, Eliab;

⁹ And the sons of Eliab, Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram: these are Dathan and Abiram who called the congregation that gathered against Mosheh and Aharon in the congregation of Korach, in their gathering against the Lord,

¹⁰ when the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them with Korach, and the congregation died, being devoured by the fire, two hundred and fifty men; and they became a sign;

¹ After the plague, Adonai spoke to Moses Drawn out and to Eleazar Help of God the son of Aaron Light-bringer the priest, saying,

² “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel God prevails, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers’ houses, all who are able to go out to war in Israel God prevails.”

³ Moses Drawn out and Eleazar Help of God the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab From father by the Jordan Descender at Jericho Fragrant, Moon, saying,

⁹ The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, who were called by the congregation, who rebelled against Moses Drawn out and against Aaron Light-bringer in the company of Korach Bald one, Frost, when they rebelled against Adonai ,

¹⁰ and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korach Bald one, Frost, when that company died; at the time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.

¹ It came about after the plague that Yahweh spoke to Moses and Eleazar son of Aaron the priest. He said,

² “Count all the community of the people of Israel, from twenty years old and up, by their ancestor's families, all who are able to go to war for Israel.”

³ So Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke to them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho and said,

⁴ “Count the people, from twenty years old and up, as Yahweh commanded Moses and the people of Israel, who came out of the land of Egypt.”

⁵ Reuben was the firstborn of Israel. From his son Hanok came the clan of the Hanokites. From Pallu came the clan of the Palluites.

⁶ From Hezron came the clan of the Hezronites. From Karmi came the clan of the Karmites.

⁷ These were the clans of Reuben, who numbered 43,730 men.

⁸ Eliab was a son of Pallu.

⁹ Eliab's sons were Nemuel, Dathan, and Abiram. These were the same Dathan and Abiram who followed Korah when they challenged Moses and Aaron and rebelled against Yahweh.

¹⁰ The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korah when all his followers died. At that time, fire devoured 250 men, who became a warning sign.

³ And so Moses and Eleazar, the priest, spake in the field places of Moab, over Jordan, against Jericho,

⁴ to them that were of twenty years and above, as the Lord commanded; of which this is the number.

¹⁰ and the earth opened his mouth, and devoured Korah, and full many men died, when the fire burnt two hundred men and fifty; and a great miracle was done,

¹ After that the blood of (the) guilty men was shed out, the Lord said to Moses and to Eleazar, the priest, the son of Aaron,
