¹ And Jehovah spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

² This is the statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke.

³ And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:

⁴ and Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the tent of meeting seven times.

⁵ And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:

⁶ and the priest shall take cedar-wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

⁷ Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.

⁸ And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.

⁹ And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water for impurity: it is a sin-offering.

¹⁰ And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

² This is the constitution of the law, as the Lord has commanded, saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, and let them take for thee a red heifer without spot, which has no spot on her, and on which no yoke has been put.

³ And thou shalt give her to Eleazar the priest; and they shall bring her out of the camp into a clean place, and shall kill her before his face.

⁴ And Eleazar shall take of her blood, and sprinkle of her blood seven times in front of the tabernacle of witness.

⁵ And they shall burn her to ashes before him; and her skin and her flesh and her blood, with her dung, shall be consumed.

⁶ And the priest shall take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet wool, and they shall cast them into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

⁷ And the priest shall wash his garments, and bathe his body in water, and afterwards he shall go into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean till evening.

⁸ And he that burns her shall wash his garments, and bathe his body, and shall be unclean till evening.

⁹ And a clean man shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up in a clean place outside the camp; and they shall be for the congregation of the children of Israel to keep: it is the water of sprinkling, a purification.

¹⁰ And he that gathers up the ashes of the heifer shall wash his garments, and shall be unclean until evening; and it shall be a perpetual statute for the children of Israel and for the strangers joined to them.

¹⁰ And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

¹ Yahweh said to Aaron and Moses/me,

² “I am now giving to you another regulation. Tell the Israeli people to bring to you one reddish-brown cow that has no defects. It must be an animal that ◄has never been/no one has ever► used for plowing ground.

³ Give it to Eleazar, the priest. He must take it outside the camp and slaughter it and drain the blood in a basin.

⁴ He must dip one of his fingers in the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times on the ground near the Sacred Tent.

⁵ Then, while Eleazar watches, the cow must be burned completely—its hide, its meat, the rest of its blood, and even its dung.

⁶ Eliezer then must take a stick of cedar wood, a stalk of a plant named hyssop, and some scarlet/red yarn, and throw them into the fire where the cow is burning.

⁷ Then the priest must wash his clothes and bathe. After doing that, he may return to the camp. But he will be unfit for doing any sacred work until that evening.

⁸ The man who burns the cow must also wash his clothes and bathe, and he will also be unacceptable to me until that evening.

⁹ Then someone who has not become unacceptable to me must gather up the ashes of the cow and put them in a ◄sacred place/place that is acceptable to me► outside the camp. The ashes must be kept there for the people of Israel to use when they mix it with water for the ritual to remove the guilt of sin.

¹⁰ The man who gathers up the ashes of the cow must also wash his clothes, and he also will be unfit to do any more sacred work until that evening. That is a regulation that will never be changed. It must be obeyed by you Israeli people and by any foreigners who live among you.

¹ And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron,

² This is the rule of the law which the Lord has made, saying, Give orders to the children of Israel to give you a red cow without any mark on her, and on which the yoke has never been put:

³ Give her to Eleazar the priest and let him take her outside the tent-circle and have her put to death before him.

⁴ Then let Eleazar the priest take some of her blood on his finger, shaking the blood seven times in the direction of the front of the Tent of meeting:

⁵ And the cow is to be burned before him, her skin and her flesh and her blood and her waste are to be burned:

⁶ Then let the priest take cedar-wood and hyssop and red thread, and put them into the fire where the cow is burning.

⁷ And the priest, after washing his clothing and bathing his body in water, may come back to the tent-circle, and will be unclean till evening.

⁸ And he who does the burning is to have his clothing washed and his body bathed in water and be unclean till evening.

⁹ Then let a man who is clean take the dust of the burned cow and put it outside the tent-circle in a clean place, where it is to be kept for the children of Israel and used in making the water which takes away what is unclean: it is a sin-offering.

¹⁰ And he who takes up the dust of the burned cow is to have his clothing washed with water and be unclean till evening: this is to be a law for ever, for the children of Israel as well as for the man from another country who is living among them.

⁹ And a clean man shall gather the ashes of the heifer, and deposit them outside the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the assembly of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.

¹⁰ And he that hath gathered the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. And it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, an everlasting statute.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying:

² This is the observance of the victim, which the Lord hath ordained. Command the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee a red cow of full age, in which there is no blemish, and which hath not carried the yoke:

³ And you shall deliver her to Eleazar the priest, who shall bring her forth without the camp, and shall immolate her in the sight of all:

⁴ And dipping his finger in her blood, shall sprinkle it over against the door of the tabernacle seven times,

⁵ And shall burn her in the sight of all, delivering up to the fire her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, and her dung.

⁶ The priest shall also take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet twice dyed, and cast it into the flame, with which the cow is consumed.

⁷ And then after washing his garments, and body, he shall enter into the camp, and shall be unclean until the evening.

⁸ He also that hath burned her, shall wash his garments, and his body, and shall be unclean until the evening.

⁹ And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the cow, and shall pour them forth without the camp in a most clean place, that they may be reserved for the multitude of the children of Israel, and for a water of aspersion: because the cow was burnt for sin.

¹⁰ And when he that carried the ashes of the cow, hath washed his garments, he shall be unclean until the evening. The children of Israel, and the strangers that dwell among them, shall observe this for a holy thing by a perpetual ordinance.

¹ The Lord told Moses and Aaron,

² “This is a legal regulation the Lord has ordered, saying, ‘Tell the Israelites to bring you a red cow without defects which has never been yoked.

³ Hand it over to Eleazar the priest, and he will take it outside the camp and have it slaughtered before him.

⁴ Eleazar the priest will put some of its blood on his finger and sprinkle it seven times towards the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.

⁵ Then the cow must be burned as he watches All of it is to be burned—its skin, meat, and blood, as well as its excrement.

⁶ The priest shall throw cedar wood, hyssop, and crimson thread on the burning cow.

⁷ Then the priest shall wash his clothes and his body in water, and after that he may enter the camp, but he will remain unclean until the evening.

⁸ The person who burned the cow shall also wash his clothes and his body in water, and he too will remain unclean until the evening.

⁹ Then a man who is clean shall collect the ashes of the cow and keep them in a clean place outside the camp. They are to be kept by the Israelites to prepare the water of purification which is for purifying from sin.

¹⁰ The man who collected the ashes of the cow shall also wash his clothes, and he will remain unclean until the evening. This is a permanent rule for the Israelites and for the foreigner that lives with them.

¹ And the Lord spake to Moses, and to Aaron, saying,

² This is the ordinance of the lawe, which the Lord hath commanded, saying, Speake vnto the children of Israel that they bring thee a red kow without blemish, wherein is no spot, vpon the which neuer came yoke.

³ And ye shall giue her vnto Eleazar ye Priest, that hee may bring her without the hoste, and cause her to be slaine before his face.

⁴ Then shall Eleazar the Priest take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle it before the Tabernacle of the Congregation seuen times,

⁵ And cause the kow to be burnt in his sight: with her skinne, and her flesh, and her blood, and her doung shall he burne her.

⁶ Then shall the Priest take cedar wood, and hyssope and skarlet lace, and cast them in the mids of the fire where the kow burneth.

⁷ Then shall the Priest wash his clothes, and he shall wash his flesh in water, and then come into the hoste, and the Priest shalbe vncleane vnto the euen.

⁸ Also he that burneth her, shall wash his clothes in water, and wash his flesh in water, and be vncleane vntill euen.

⁹ And a man, that is cleane, shall take vp the ashes of the kow, and put them without the hoste in a cleane place: and it shalbe kept for the Congregation of the children of Israel for a sprinkling water: it is a sinne offring.

¹⁰ Therefore he that gathereth the ashes of the kow, shall wash his clothes, and remaine vncleane vntil euen: and it shalbe vnto the children of Israel, and vnto the stranger that dwelleth among them, a statute for euer.

³ And ye shall give her unto Elazar the priest, and he shall lead her forth to without the camp, and some one shall slay her before his face:

⁴ And Elazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger; and he shall sprinkle in the direction of the front of the tabernacle of the congregation of her blood seven times.

⁵ And some one shall burn the cow before his eyes; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn.

⁶ And the priest shall take cedar-wood, and hyssop, and a scarlet string, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the cow.

⁷ And the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward may he come into the camp; and the priest shall be unclean until the evening.

⁸ And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water; and he shall be unclean until the evening.

⁹ And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the cow, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of sprinkling: it is a purification-offering.

¹⁰ And he that gathereth up the ashes of the cow shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the evening: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.

² This is the constitution of the law, as the Lord has commanded, saying, Speak to the sons of Israel, and let them take for thee a red heifer without spot, which has no spot on her, and on which no yoke has been put.

³ And thou shalt give her to Eleazar the priest; and they shall bring her out of the camp into a clean place, and shall kill her before his face.

⁴ And Eleazar shall take of her blood, and sprinkle of her blood seven times in front of the tabernacle of witness.

⁵ And they shall burn her to ashes before him; and her skin and her flesh and her blood, with her dung, shall be consumed.

⁶ And the priest shall take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet wool, and they shall cast them into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

⁷ And the priest shall wash his garments, and bathe his body in water, and afterward he shall go into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean till evening.

⁸ And he that burns her shall wash his garments, and bathe his body, and shall be unclean till evening.

⁹ And a clean man shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up in a clean place outside the camp; and they shall be for the congregation of the children of Israel to keep: it is the water of sprinkling, a purification.

¹⁰ And he that gathers up the ashes of the heifer shall wash his garments, and shall be unclean until evening; and it shall be a perpetual statute for the children of Israel and for the strangers joined to them.

³ And you shall give her unto Elazar the priest, that he may bring her without the camp, and (one) shall slaughter her before him.

⁴ And Elazar, the priest, shall take (some) of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood against the face of the tabernacle of ordinance seven times.

⁵ And (one) shall burn the heifer before his eyes; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her food shall he burn.

⁶ And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.

⁷ And the priest shall wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterwards come into the camp: but the priest shall be unclean until the evening.

⁸ And he who burneth her shall wash his clothes with water, and bathe his flesh in water, and be unclean until evening.

⁹ And a man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be for the congregation of the children of Israel to keep, for the sprinkling with water; it is (a purification) for sin.

³ Give the heifer to Eleazar the priest. He must bring it outside the camp, and someone must kill it in front of him.

⁴ Eleazar the priest must take some of its blood with his finger and sprinkle it seven times toward the front of the tent of meeting.

⁵ Another priest must burn the heifer in his sight. He must burn its hide, flesh, and its blood with its dung.

⁶ The priest must take cedarwood, hyssop, and scarlet wool, and throw it all into the middle of the burning heifer.

⁷ Then he must wash his clothes and bathe in water. Then he may come into the camp, where he will remain unclean until the evening.

⁸ The one who has burned the heifer must wash his clothes in water and bathe in water. He will remain unclean until the evening.

⁹ Someone who is clean must gather up the heifer's ashes and put them outside the camp in a clean place. These ashes must be kept for the community of the people of Israel. They will mix the ashes with water for purification from sin, since the ashes were from a sin offering.

¹⁰ The one who gathered the heifer's ashes must wash his clothes. He will remain unclean until the evening. This will be a permanent law for the people of Israel and the foreigners who stay with them.

⁶ Also the priest shall put cedar wood, and hyssop, and red thread dyed twice, into the fire, that burneth the cow.

⁷ And then at the last, when the priest’s clothes and his body be washed, he shall enter into the tents, and he shall be defouled, or unclean, till to eventide.

⁸ But also he that burnt the cow, shall wash his clothes, and his body, and he shall be unclean till to eventide.

⁹ Soothly a clean man shall gather the ashes of the cow, and he shall pour them out without the tents, in a place most clean, that those ashes be to the multitude of the sons of Israel into keeping, and into water of sprinkling; for that cow is burnt for sin.

(And then, after the priest hath washed his clothes, and his body, he shall return to the tents, but he shall be defiled, or unclean, until the evening.)

⁶ Also the preest schal `sende a tre of cedre, and ysope, and reed threed died twies, into the flawme that deuourith the cow.

⁷ And thanne at the laste, whanne hise clothis `and bodi ben waischun, he schal entre in to the tentis, and he schal be defoulid `til to euentid.

⁸ But also he that brente the cow, schal waische hise clothis, and bodi, and he schal be vncleene `til to euentid.

⁹ Forsothe a cleene man schal gadere the aischis of the cow, and schal schede out tho with out the tentis, in a place moost cleene, that tho be to the multitude of the sones of Israel in to keping, and in to watir of spryngyng; for the cow is brent for synne.

¹⁰ And whanne he that bar the aischis of the cow, hath waische hise clothis, he schal be vncleene `til to euentid. And the sones of Israel, and comelyngis that dwellen among hem, schulen haue this hooli bi euerlastynge lawe.

¹ And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Aaron, saying,

² 'This is a statute of the law which Jehovah hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the sons of Israel, and they bring unto thee a red cow, a perfect one, in which there is no blemish, on which no yoke hath gone up;

³ and ye have given it unto Eleazar the priest, and he hath brought it out unto the outside of the camp, and hath slaughtered it before him.

⁴ 'And Eleazar the priest hath taken of its blood with his finger, and hath sprinkled over-against the front of the tent of meeting of her blood seven times;

⁵ and one hath burnt the cow before his eyes; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, besides her dung, he doth burn;

⁶ and the priest hath taken cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and hath cast unto the midst of the burning of the cow;

⁷ and the priest hath washed his garments, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and afterwards doth come in unto the camp, and the priest is unclean till the evening;

⁸ and he who is burning it doth wash his garments with water, and hath bathed his flesh with water, and is unclean till the evening.

⁹ 'And a clean man hath gathered the ashes of the cow, and hath placed at the outside of the camp, in a clean place, and it hath become to the company of the sons of Israel a charge for waters of separation — it is a cleansing;

¹⁰ and he who is gathering the ashes of the heifer hath washed his garments, and is unclean till the evening; and it hath been to the sons of Israel, and to the sojourner who is sojourning in their midst, for a statute age-during.
