³ And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi; for there shall be one rod for each head of their fathers’ houses.

⁴ And thou shalt lay them up in the tent of meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

⁵ And it shall come to pass, that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you.

⁶ And Moses spake unto the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods: and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

⁷ And Moses laid up the rods before Jehovah in the tent of the testimony.

⁸ And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and put forth buds, and produced blossoms, and bare ripe almonds.

⁹ And Moses brought out all the rods from before Jehovah unto all the children of Israel: and they looked, and took every man his rod.

³ of these sinners against their own souls, and do thou make them beaten plates a covering to the altar, because they were brought before the Lord and hallowed; and they became a sign to the children of Israel.

⁴ And Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest took the brazen censers, which the men who had been burnt brought near, and they put them as a covering on the altar:

⁵ a memorial to the children of Israel that no stranger might draw nigh, who is not of the seed of Aaron, to offer incense before the Lord; so he shall not be as Core and as they that conspired with him, as the Lord spoke to him by the hand of Moses.

⁶ And the children of Israel murmured the next day against Moses and Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the Lord.

⁷ And it came to pass when the congregation combined against Moses and Aaron, that they ran impetuously to the tabernacle of witness; and the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord appeared.

⁸ And Moses and Aaron went in, in front of the tabernacle of witness.

⁹ And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

³ And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi: for one rod shall be for the head of the house of their fathers.

⁴ And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.

⁵ And it shall come to pass, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, whereby they murmur against you.

⁸ And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi blossomed, and put forth a bud, and bloomed blossoms and produced almonds.

⁹ And Moses brought forth all the rods from before the Lord to all the sons of Israel; and they looked, and each one took his rod.

³ There must be one stick for the leader of each tribe, so you must carve Aaron's name on the stick for the tribe of Levi.

⁴ Put those sticks inside the Sacred Tent, in front of the sacred chest that has in it the tablets on which the Ten Commandments are written. That is the place where I always talk with you.

⁵ Buds will sprout on the stick of the man whom I have chosen to be the priest. When the people see that, they will stop their constantly complaining about you because they will realize that you are the one whom I have chosen.”

⁶ So Moses/I told the people what Yahweh had said. Then each of the twelve Israeli leaders, including Aaron, brought his walking stick to Moses/me.

⁷ Moses/I placed the sticks inside the Sacred Tent in front of the sacred chest.

⁸ The following morning, when he/I went into the tent, he/I saw that Aaron's stick, which represented the tribe of Levi, had sprouted, it had produced leaves and blossoms, and it had also produced almonds that were ripe!

⁹ Moses/I brought all the sticks out of the Sacred Tent and showed them to the people. Each of the twelve leaders took back his own stick.

³ And write the name of Aaron on the rod of Levi; for it is one rod for each: they shall give them according to the tribe of the house of their families.

⁴ And you shall put them in the tabernacle of witness, before the testimony, where I will be made known to you.

⁵ And it shall be, the man whom I shall choose, his rod shall blossom; and I will remove from me the murmuring of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you.

³ And let Aaron's name be placed on the rod of Levi: for there is to be one rod for the head of every family.

⁴ And let them be stored up in the Tent of meeting, in front of the ark of witness where I come to you.

⁵ And the rod of that man who is marked out by me for myself will have buds on it; so I will put a stop to the outcries which the children of Israel make to me against you.

⁶ So Moses gave these orders to the children of Israel, and all their chiefs gave him rods, one for the head of every family, making twelve rods: and Aaron's rod was among them.

⁷ And Moses put the rods before the Lord in the Tent of witness.

⁸ Now on the day after, Moses went into the Tent of witness; and he saw that Aaron's rod, the rod of the house of Levi, had put out buds, and was covered with buds and flowers and fruit.

⁹ Then Moses took out all the rods from before the Lord, and gave them back to the children of Israel: and they saw them, and every man took his rod.

³ And Aaron's name shalt thou write upon the staff of Levi; for one staff shall be for each head of their fathers' houses.

⁴ And thou shalt lay them up in the tent of meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

⁵ And it shall come to pass, that the man whom I shall choose, his staff shall bud forth; and I will make to cease from before me the murmurings of the children of Israel, that they murmur against you.

⁶ And Moses spoke to the children of Israel, and all their princes gave him a staff, one staff for each prince according to their fathers' houses, twelve staves, and the staff of Aaron was among their staves.

⁷ And Moses laid the staves before Jehovah in the tent of the testimony.

⁸ And it came to pass, when on the morrow Moses went into the tent of the testimony, behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and ripened almonds.

⁹ And Moses brought out all the staves from before Jehovah to all the children of Israel, and they looked and took each one his staff.

³ And the name of Aaron shall be for the tribe of Levi, and one rod shall contain all their families:

⁴ And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the covenant before the testimony, where I will speak to thee.

⁵ Whomsoever of these I shall choose, his rod shall blossom: and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the children of Israel, wherewith they murmur against you.

⁶ And Moses spoke to the children of Israel: and all the princes gave him rods one for every tribe: and there were twelve rods besides the rod of Aaron.

⁷ And when Moses had laid them up before the Lord in the tabernacle of the testimony:

⁸ He returned on the following day, and found that the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi, was budded: and that the buds swelling it had bloomed blossoms, which spreading the leaves, were formed into almonds.

⁹ Moses therefore brought out all the rods from before the Lord to all the children of Israel: and they saw, and every one received their rods.

³ and write Aaron's name on the walking stick of the tribe of Levi, because there has to be a walking stick for the head of each tribe.

⁴ Place the walking sticks in the Tent of Meeting in front of the Testimony where I meet with you.

⁵ The walking stick that belongs to the man I choose will sprout buds, and I will put a stop to the Israelites' constant complaints against you.”

⁶ Moses explained this to the Israelites, and each of their leaders gave him a walking stick, one for each of the leaders of their tribes. So there were twelve walking sticks including the one belonging to Aaron.

⁷ Moses placed the walking sticks before the Lord in the Tent of the Testimony.

⁸ The next day Moses went into the Tent of the Testimony and saw that Aaron's walking stick that represented the tribe of Levi, had sprouted and developed buds, flowered and produced almonds.

⁹ Moses took all the walking sticks from the presence of the Lord and showed them to all the Israelites. They saw them, and each man collected his own walking stick.

³ And write Aarons name vpon the rod of Leui: for euery rodde shalbe for the head of the house of their fathers.

⁴ And thou shalt put them in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, before the Arke of the Testimonie, where I wil declare my selfe to you.

⁵ And the mans rod, whome I chuse, shall blossome: and I will make cease from mee the grudgings of the children of Israel, which grudge against you.

⁶ Then Moses spake vnto the children of Israel, and al their princes gaue him a rod, one rod for euery Prince, according to the houses of their fathers, euen twelue rods, and the rod of Aaron was among their roddes.

⁷ And Moses layde the rods before the Lord in the Tabernacle of the Testimonie.

⁸ And when Moses on the morow went into the Tabernacle of the Testimonie, beholde, the rod of Aaron for the house of Leui was budded, and brought forth buddes, and brought forth blossoms, and bare ripe almondes.

⁹ Then Moses brought out all the rods from before the Lord vnto all the children of Israel: and they looked vpon them, and tooke euery man his rodde.

⁵ (17:20) And it shall come to pass, that the staff of the man whom I shall choose, shall blossom: and I will allay from around me the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you.

⁶ (17:21) And Moses spoke unto the children of Israel, and all their princes gave him each a staff, one for every prince, according to their family divisions, twelve staves: and the staff of Aaron was among their staves.

⁷ (17:22) And Moses laid down the staves before the Lord in the tabernacle of the testimony.

⁸ (17:23) And it came to pass on the morrow, that as Moses went into the tabernacle of the testimony, behold, the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had budded; and it brought forth buds, and produced blossoms, and yielded ripe almonds.

⁹ (17:24) And Moses brought out all the staves from before the Lord unto all the children of Israel; and they looked at them, and took away every one his staff.

³ The censers of those guilty men who sinned against their souls, let him make of them beaten plates, to cover the altar; for they had offered them before the Lord, and they are consecrated; and they shall be for a sign unto the children of Israel.

⁴ And Elazar the priest took the golden censers, with which they who were burned had offered, and beat them abroad, for a covering for the altar,

⁵ to be a memorial to the sons of Israel, that no strange man who is not of the seed of Aharon shall approach to burn sweet incense before the Lord, and that he be not as Korach and his company, as the Lord had said to him by the hand of Mosheh.

⁶ But on the day which followed, all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Mosheh and against Aharon, saying: You have caused the death of the Lord’s people.

⁷ And it was, while the congregation gathered against Mosheh and against Aharon, that they looked toward the tabernacle of ordinance; and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord was revealed.

⁸ And Mosheh and Aharon went up before the tabernacle of ordinance;

⁹ And the Lord spake with Mosheh, saying:

³ You shall write Aaron Light-bringer’s name on the rod of Levi United with; for there shall be one rod for each head of their fathers’ houses.

⁴ You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the testimony, where I meet with you.

⁵ It shall happen, that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud. I will make the murmurings of the children of Israel God prevails, which they murmur against you, cease from me.”

⁶ Moses Drawn out spoke to the children of Israel God prevails; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods. Aaron Light-bringer’s rod was among their rods.

⁷ Moses Drawn out laid up the rods before Adonai in the Tent of the Testimony.

⁸ On the next day, Moses Drawn out went into the Tent of the Testimony; and behold, Aaron Light-bringer’s rod for the house of Levi United with had sprouted, budded, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.

⁹ Moses Drawn out brought out all the rods from before Adonai to all the children of Israel God prevails. They looked, and each man took his rod. (6)

³ You must write Aaron's name on Levi's staff. There must be one staff for each leader from his ancestors' tribe.

⁴ You must place the staffs in the tent of meeting in front of the covenant decrees, where I meet with you.

⁵ It will happen that the staff of the man whom I choose will bud. I will cause the complaints from the people of Israel to stop, which they are speaking against you.”

⁶ So Moses spoke to the people of Israel. All the tribal leaders gave him staffs, one staff from each leader, selected from each of the ancestral tribes, twelve staffs in all. Aaron's staff was among them.

⁷ Then Moses deposited the staffs before Yahweh in the tent of the covenant decrees.

⁸ The next day Moses went into the tent of the covenant decrees and, behold, Aaron's staff for the tribe of Levi had budded. It grew buds and produced blossoms and ripe almonds!

⁹ Moses brought out all the staffs from before Yahweh to all the people of Israel, and each man took his staff.

⁴ You shall lay them up in the Tent of Meeting before the covenant, where I meet with you.

⁵ It shall happen that the rod of the man whom I shall choose shall bud. I will make the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against you, cease from me.”

⁶ Moses spoke to the children of Israel; and all their princes gave him rods, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, a total of twelve rods. Aaron’s rod was amongst their rods.

⁷ Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the Tent of the Testimony.

⁸ On the next day, Moses went into the Tent of the Testimony; and behold, Aaron’s rod for the house of Levi had sprouted, budded, produced blossoms, and bore ripe almonds.

⁹ Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD to all the children of Israel. They looked, and each man took his rod.

³ soothly the name of Aaron shall be written in the lineage of Levi, and one rod shall contain all the meines of Levi.

⁴ And thou shalt put those rods in the tabernacle of the bond of peace, before the witnessing, where I shall speak with thee;

⁵ the rod of him shall burgeon, whom I shall choose of them to the office of priesthood; and I shall thereby refrain, or quench, from me the complainings, or grutchings, of the sons of Israel, by which they grutch against you.

⁶ And Moses spake to the sons of Israel; and all the princes gave to him rods, by all their lineages; and the rods were twelve, without the rod of Aaron.

⁷ And when Moses had put those rods before the Lord, in the tabernacle of witnessing,

⁸ he went again in the day pursuing or following, and found that the rod of Aaron, in the house of Levi, had burgeoned; and when the knops were great, the blossoms had broken out, which were alarged in leaves, and were formed into almonds.

⁹ Therefore Moses brought forth all the rods from the sight of the Lord to all the sons of Israel; and they saw, and received each his rod.

³ soothly the name of Aaron shall be written in the lineage of Levi, and one rod shall contain all the families of Levi. (and Aaron’s name shall be written on the staff of Levi; yea, one staff shall be for the head of each family.)

⁴ And thou shalt put those rods in the tabernacle of the bond of peace, before the witnessing, where I shall speak with thee; (And thou shalt put those staffs in the Tabernacle of the Covenant, before the Ark of the Witnessing, that is, the Box containing the tablets of the Law, where I speak with thee;)

⁵ the rod of him shall burgeon, whom I shall choose of them to the office of priesthood; and I shall thereby refrain, or quench, from me the complainings, or grouchings, of the sons of Israel, by which they grouch against you. (and the staff of him shall sprout, whom I shall choose out of them for the office, or for the duties, of the priesthood; and I shall thereby quench the complaints, or the grumblings, of the Israelites, by which they grumble against you.)

⁶ And Moses spake to the sons of Israel; and all the princes gave to him rods, by all their lineages; and the rods were twelve, without the rod of Aaron. (And Moses spoke to the Israelites; and each leader from each tribe gave him a staff; and so there were twelve staffs, and Aaron’s staff was among them.)

⁷ And when Moses had put those rods before the Lord, in the tabernacle of witnessing, (And when Moses had put those staffs before the Lord, in the Tabernacle of the Witnessing,)

⁸ he went again in the day following, and found that the rod of Aaron, in the house of Levi, had burgeoned; and when the knops were great, the blossoms had broken out, which were alarged in (the) leaves, and were formed into almonds. (he went back on the following day, and found that Aaron’s staff, for the house of Levi, had sprouted; and first the buds grew great, and then the blossoms broke out, and enlarged themselves amid the leaves, and then they were formed into almonds.)

⁹ Therefore Moses brought forth all the rods from the sight of the Lord to all the sons of Israel; and they saw, and received each his rod. (And so Moses brought out all the staffs from before the Lord to all the Israelites; and they looked at all of them, and then each man received back his own staff.)

³ forsothe the name of Aaron schal be in the lynage of Leuy, and o yerde schal conteyne alle the meynees of hem.

⁴ And thou schalt putte tho yerdis in the tabernacle of boond of pees, bifor the witnessyng, where Y schal speke to thee; the yerde of hym schal buriowne, whom Y schal chese of hem;

⁵ and Y schal refreyne fro me the playnyngis of the sones of Israel, bi whiche thei grutchen ayens you.

⁶ And Moyses spak to the sones of Israel; and alle princes yauen to hym yerdis, bi alle lynagis; and the yerdis weren twelue, without the yerde of Aaron.

⁷ And whanne Moises hadde put tho yerdis bifor the Lord, in the tabernacle of witnessyng, he yede ayen in the day suynge,

⁸ and founde that the yerde of Aaron, `in the hows of Leuy, buriounnede; and whanne knoppis weren greet, the blossoms `hadden broke out, whiche weren alargid in leeuys, and weren fourmed in to alemaundis.

⁹ Therfor Moyses brouyte forth alle the yerdis fro the siyt of the Lord to al the sones of Israel; and thei sien, and resseyueden ech his yerde.

³ and Aaron's name thou dost write on the tribe of Levi; for one rod is for the head of their fathers' house:

⁴ and thou hast placed them in the tent of meeting, before the testimony, where I meet with you.

⁵ 'And it hath come to pass, the man's rod on whom I fix doth flourish, and I have caused to cease from off me the murmurings of the sons of Israel, which they are murmuring against you.'

⁶ And Moses speaketh unto the sons of Israel, and all their princes give unto him one rod for a prince, one rod for a prince, for their fathers' house, twelve rods, and the rod of Aaron is in the midst of their rods;

⁷ and Moses placeth the rods before Jehovah, in the tent of the testimony.

⁸ And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that Moses goeth in unto the tent of the testimony, and lo, the rod of Aaron hath flourished for the house of Levi, and is bringing out flourishing, and doth blossom blossoms, and doth produce almonds;

⁹ and Moses bringeth out all the rods from before Jehovah, unto all the sons of Israel, and they look, and take each his rod.
