³⁷ even those men that did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Jehovah.

³⁸ But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men that went to spy out the land.

³⁹ And Moses told these words unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

⁴⁰ And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up to the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we are here, and will go up unto the place which Jehovah hath promised: for we have sinned.

⁴¹ And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of Jehovah, seeing it shall not prosper?

⁴² Go not up, for Jehovah is not among you; that ye be not smitten down before your enemies.

⁴³ For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned back from following Jehovah, therefore Jehovah will not be with you.

³⁸ And Joshua the son of Naue and Chaleb the son of Jephonne still lived of those men that went to spy out the land.

³⁷ were immediately struck with a plague/disease that Yahweh sent, and they died.

³⁸ Of the twelve men who had explored Canaan, only Joshua and Caleb remained alive.

³⁹ When Moses/I reported to the Israeli people what Yahweh had said, many of them were very sad.

⁴⁰ So the people got up early the next morning and started to go toward the hilly area in Canaan. They said, “ We know that we have sinned, but now we are ready to enter the land that Yahweh promised to give to us.”

⁴¹ But Moses/I said, “Yahweh commanded you to return to the desert, so why are you now disobeying him RHQ? It will not ◄succeed/be possible►.

⁴² Do not try to enter the land now! If you try, your enemies will defeat you, because Yahweh will not ◄be with/help► you.

⁴³ When you begin to fight the descendants of Amalek and Canaan, they will slaughter you! Yahweh will abandon you, because you have abandoned him.”

³⁷ Those same men who said evil of the land, came to their death by disease before the Lord.

³⁸ But Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, of those who went to see the land, were not touched by disease.

³⁹ And when Moses put these words before the children of Israel, the people were full of grief.

⁴⁰ And early in the morning they got up and went to the top of the mountain, saying, We are here and we will go up to the place which the Lord said he would give us: for we have done wrong.

⁴¹ And Moses said, Why are you now acting against the Lord's order, seeing that no good will come of it?

⁴² Go not up, for the Lord is not with you, and you will be overcome by those who are fighting against you.

⁴³ For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you will be put to death by their swords: because you have gone back from the way of the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.

³⁷ even those men who had brought up an evil report upon the land, died by a plague before Jehovah.

³⁸ But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, lived still of the men that had gone to search out the land.

³⁹ And Moses told all these sayings to all the children of Israel; then the people mourned greatly.

⁴⁰ And they rose up early in the morning, and went up to the hill-top, saying, Here are we, and we will go up to the place of which Jehovah has spoken; for we have sinned.

⁴¹ And Moses said, Why now do ye transgress the commandment of Jehovah? but it shall not prosper!

⁴² Go not up, for Jehovah is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies;

⁴³ for the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword; for as ye have turned away from Jehovah, Jehovah will not be with you.

³⁷ Died and were struck in the sight of the Lord.

³⁸ But Josue. the son of Nun. and Caleb the son of Jephone lived, of all them that had gone to view the land.

³⁹ And Moses spoke all these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned exceedingly.

⁴⁰ And behold rising up very early in the morning, they went up to the top of the mountain, and said: We are ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord hath spoken: for we have sinned.

⁴¹ And Moses said to them: Why transgress you the word of the Lord, which shall not succeed prosperously with you?

⁴² Go not up, for the Lord is not with you: lest you fall before your enemies.

⁴³ The Amalecite and the Chanaanite are before you, and by their sword you shall fall, because you would not consent to the Lord, neither will the Lord be with you.

³⁷ those men who gave the bad report died before the Lord from plague.

³⁸ The only ones who lived were Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh of those who went to explore the country.

³⁹ When Moses told the Israelites what the Lord had said they were very, very sad.

⁴⁰ They got up early the next morning planning to go into the hill country. “Yes we really did sin,” they said, “but now we're here and we'll go where the Lord told us.”

⁴¹ But Moses objected. “Why are you disobeying the Lord's command? You won't succeed in your plan!

⁴² Don't try and go, otherwise you will be killed by your enemies, because the Lord isn't with you.

⁴³ The Amalekites and Canaanites living there will attack you, and you will die by the sword. Because you rejected the Lord, he won't help you.”

³⁷ Euen those men that did bring vp that vile slander vpon the land, shall die by a plague before the Lord.

³⁸ But Ioshua the sonne of Nun, and Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh, of those men that went to search the land, shall liue.

³⁹ Then Moses tolde these sayings vnto all the children of Israel, and the people sorowed greatly.

⁴⁰ And they rose vp earely in the morning, and gate them vp into the toppe of the mountaine, saying, Loe, we be readie, to goe vp to the place which the Lord hath promised: for wee haue sinned.

⁴¹ But Moses said, Wherefore transgresse yee thus the commandement of the Lord? it will not so come well to passe.

⁴² Goe not vp (for the Lord is not among you) lest ye be ouerthrowe before your enemies.

⁴³ For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sworde: for in as much as ye are turned away from the Lord, the Lord also will not be with you.

⁴⁰ And they arose in the morning to go up to the top of the mountain, saying: Behold, we will go up to the place of which the Lord hath spoken; for we have sinned.

⁴¹ But Mosheh said, Wherefore do you transgress against the decree of the Word of the Lord? But it will not prosper.

⁴² Go not up, for the Shekinah of the Lord is not among you, and be not broken before your enemies.

⁴³ For the Amalkaah and the Kenaanaah are there before you, and you will fall by the sword; for, because you have turned away from the service of the Lord, the Word of the Lord will not be your helper.

³⁷ even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Adonai .

³⁸ But Joshua Salvation Yah the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land.

³⁹ Moses Drawn out told these words to all the children of Israel God prevails, and the people mourned greatly.

⁴⁰ They rose up early in the morning, and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Behold, we are here, and will go up to the place which Adonai has promised: for we have sinned.”

⁴¹ Moses Drawn out said, “Why are you disobeying the order of Adonai ? You shall not succeed!

⁴² Don’t go up, for Adonai is not among you; that you not be struck down before your enemies.

⁴³ For there the Amalekite Descendant of Man who licks up and the Canaanite Descendant of Humbled are before you, and you shall fall by the sword, because you turned back from following Adonai , therefore Adonai will not be with you.”

³⁷ these men who had brought out a bad report about the land were struck down, and they died of a plague before Yahweh.

³⁸ Of those men who had gone to spy out the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh remained alive.

³⁹ When Moses reported these words to all the people of Israel, they mourned very deeply.

⁴⁰ They rose up early in the morning and went to the top of the mountain and said, “Look, we are here, and we will go to the place that Yahweh has promised, for we have sinned.”

⁴¹ But Moses said, “Why are you now violating Yahweh's command? You will not succeed.

⁴² Do not go, because Yahweh is not with you to prevent you from being defeated by your enemies.

⁴³ The Amalekites and Canaanites are there, and you will die by the sword because you turned back from following Yahweh. So he will not be with you.”

³⁷ even those men who brought up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Yahweh.

³⁸ But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh remained alive of those men who went to spy out the land.

⁴¹ To whom Moses said, Why over-pass ye the word of the Lord, that shall not befall to you into prosperity?

⁴² Do not ye go up, for the Lord is not with you, lest ye fall before your enemies.

⁴³ Amalek and Canaanites be before you, by the sword of which ye shall fall, for ye would not assent to the Lord, neither the Lord shall be with you.

³⁷ that it was evil, were dead, and smitten in the sight of the Lord. (by saying that it was evil, were then struck by the Lord with a pestilence, or a plague, and died.)

³⁸ Soothly (only) Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, lived, of all the men, that went to see the land (or who went to see the land).

³⁹ And Moses spake all these words to all the sons of Israel, and the people mourned greatly. (And Moses spoke all these words to all the Israelites, and the people greatly mourned.)

⁴⁰ And, lo! they rose in the morrowtide first, and they went up into the top of the hill, and said, We be ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord spake, for we have sinned. (And behold! they rose up early the next morning, and left to go up into the heights of the hill country, saying, See, now we be ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord hath spoken, and we confess, that we have sinned.)

⁴¹ To whom Moses said, Why over-pass ye the word of the Lord, that shall not befall to you into prosperity? (To whom Moses said, Why pass ye over the word of the Lord? this shall not befall to you into any prosperity, or any success, but only evil.)

⁴² Do not ye go up, for the Lord is not with you, lest ye fall before your enemies. (Do not ye go up, for the Lord is not with you, and ye shall fall before your enemies.)

⁴³ Amalek and Canaanites be before you, by the sword of which ye shall fall, for ye would not assent to the Lord, neither the Lord shall be with you. (The Amalekites and the Canaanites be before you, by whose sword ye shall fall, for ye would not assent to the Lord, and so the Lord shall not be with you.)

⁴⁰ And, lo! thei riseden in the morewtid first, and `stieden in to the cop of the hil, and seiden, We ben redi to stie to the place, of which the Lord spak, for we synneden.

⁴¹ To whiche Moises seide, Whi passen ye the word of the Lord, that schal not bifalle to you in to prosperite?

⁴² Nyle ye stie, for the Lord is not with you, lest ye fallen bifor youre enemyes.

⁴³ Amalech and Cananei ben bifor you, bi the swerd of whiche ye schulen falle, for ye nolden assente to the Lord, nether the Lord schal be with you.

³⁷ even the men bringing out an evil account of the land die by the plague before Jehovah;

³⁸ and Joshua son of Nun, and Caleb son of Jephunneh, have lived of those men who go to spy out the land.

³⁹ And Moses speaketh these words unto all the sons of Israel, and the people mourn exceedingly,

⁴⁰ and they rise early in the morning, and go up unto the top of the mountain, saying, 'Here we are, and we have come up unto the place which Jehovah hath spoken of, for we have sinned.'

⁴¹ And Moses saith, 'Why is this? — ye are transgressing the command of Jehovah, and it doth not prosper;

⁴² go not up, for Jehovah is not in your midst, and ye are not smitten before your enemies;

⁴³ for the Amalekite and the Canaanite are there before you, and ye have fallen by the sword, because that ye have turned back from after Jehovah, and Jehovah is not with you.'
