Numbers 14:35-44 in American Standard Version (1901)

35 I, Jehovah, have spoken, surely this will I do unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die.
36 And the men, whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing up an evil report against the land,
37 even those men that did bring up an evil report of the land, died by the plague before Jehovah.
38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men that went to spy out the land.
39 And Moses told these words unto all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.
40 And they rose up early in the morning, and gat them up to the top of the mountain, saying, Lo, we are here, and will go up unto the place which Jehovah hath promised: for we have sinned.
41 And Moses said, Wherefore now do ye transgress the commandment of Jehovah, seeing it shall not prosper?
42 Go not up, for Jehovah is not among you; that ye be not smitten down before your enemies.
43 For there the Amalekite and the Canaanite are before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned back from following Jehovah, therefore Jehovah will not be with you.
44 But they presumed to go up to the top of the mountain: nevertheless the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and Moses, departed not out of the camp.

Numbers 14:35-44 in Translation for Translators

35 This will certainly happen because I, Yahweh, have said it! I will do these things to every one in this group who conspired against me. They ◄conspired against/decided together to reject► me here in the desert, and they will all die right here in this desert!”
36 Then the ten men who had explored Canaan and who had urged the people to rebel against Yahweh by giving reports that discouraged the people
37 were immediately struck with a plague/disease that Yahweh sent, and they died.
38 Of the twelve men who had explored Canaan, only Joshua and Caleb remained alive.
39 When Moses/I reported to the Israeli people what Yahweh had said, many of them were very sad.
40 So the people got up early the next morning and started to go toward the hilly area in Canaan. They said, “ We know that we have sinned, but now we are ready to enter the land that Yahweh promised to give to us.”
41 But Moses/I said, “Yahweh commanded you to return to the desert, so why are you now disobeying him RHQ? It will not ◄succeed/be possible►.
42 Do not try to enter the land now! If you try, your enemies will defeat you, because Yahweh will not ◄be with/help► you.
43 When you begin to fight the descendants of Amalek and Canaan, they will slaughter you! Yahweh will abandon you, because you have abandoned him.”
44 But even though Moses/I did not leave the camp, and the sacred chest that contained the Ten Commandments was not taken from the camp, the people began to go towards the hilly area in Canaan.

Numbers 14:35-44 in Bible in Basic English

35 I the Lord have said it, and this I will certainly do to all this evil people who have come together against me: in this waste land destruction will come on them, and death will be their fate.
36 And the men whom Moses sent to see the land, and who, by the bad account they gave of the land, were the cause of the outcry the people made against Moses,
37 Those same men who said evil of the land, came to their death by disease before the Lord.
38 But Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, of those who went to see the land, were not touched by disease.
39 And when Moses put these words before the children of Israel, the people were full of grief.
40 And early in the morning they got up and went to the top of the mountain, saying, We are here and we will go up to the place which the Lord said he would give us: for we have done wrong.
41 And Moses said, Why are you now acting against the Lord's order, seeing that no good will come of it?
42 Go not up, for the Lord is not with you, and you will be overcome by those who are fighting against you.
43 For the Amalekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and you will be put to death by their swords: because you have gone back from the way of the Lord, the Lord will not be with you.
44 But they gave no attention to his words and went to the top of the mountain, though Moses and the ark of the Lord's agreement did not go out of the tent-circle.

36 Therefore all the men, whom Moses had sent to view the land, and who at their return had made the whole multitude to murmur against him, speaking ill of the land that it was naught,
37 Died and were struck in the sight of the Lord.
38 But Josue. the son of Nun. and Caleb the son of Jephone lived, of all them that had gone to view the land.
39 And Moses spoke all these words to all the children of Israel, and the people mourned exceedingly.
40 And behold rising up very early in the morning, they went up to the top of the mountain, and said: We are ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord hath spoken: for we have sinned.
41 And Moses said to them: Why transgress you the word of the Lord, which shall not succeed prosperously with you?
42 Go not up, for the Lord is not with you: lest you fall before your enemies.
43 The Amalecite and the Chanaanite are before you, and by their sword you shall fall, because you would not consent to the Lord, neither will the Lord be with you.

36 The men that Moses had sent to explore the country—those who came back and because they gave a bad report they made all the Israelites complain against the Lord—
37 those men who gave the bad report died before the Lord from plague.
38 The only ones who lived were Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh of those who went to explore the country.
39 When Moses told the Israelites what the Lord had said they were very, very sad.
40 They got up early the next morning planning to go into the hill country. “Yes we really did sin,” they said, “but now we're here and we'll go where the Lord told us.”
41 But Moses objected. “Why are you disobeying the Lord's command? You won't succeed in your plan!
42 Don't try and go, otherwise you will be killed by your enemies, because the Lord isn't with you.
43 The Amalekites and Canaanites living there will attack you, and you will die by the sword. Because you rejected the Lord, he won't help you.”

44 Yet they would commit the wickedness of going up to the summit of the mountain, though the ark of the Lord’s covenant, and Mosheh, removed not from the midst of the camp.

Numbers 14:35-44 in Unlocked Literal Bible

35 I, Yahweh, have spoken. I will certainly do this to all this evil community that is gathered together against me. They will be completely cut off, and here they will die.'”
36 So the men Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made the entire community grumble against Moses by spreading a bad report about the land—
37 these men who had brought out a bad report about the land were struck down, and they died of a plague before Yahweh.
38 Of those men who had gone to spy out the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh remained alive.
39 When Moses reported these words to all the people of Israel, they mourned very deeply.
40 They rose up early in the morning and went to the top of the mountain and said, “Look, we are here, and we will go to the place that Yahweh has promised, for we have sinned.”
41 But Moses said, “Why are you now violating Yahweh's command? You will not succeed.
42 Do not go, because Yahweh is not with you to prevent you from being defeated by your enemies.
43 The Amalekites and Canaanites are there, and you will die by the sword because you turned back from following Yahweh. So he will not be with you.”
44 But they presumed to go up into the hill country; however, neither Moses nor the ark of the covenant of Yahweh left the camp.

36 And the men whom Moses sent to search the land, who returned, and made all the congregation to murmur against him, by bringing a slander upon the land,

38 But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were of the men that went to search the land, lived still .
39 And Moses told these sayings to all the children of Israel: and the people mourned greatly.

41 And Moses said, Why now do ye transgress the commandment of the LORD? but it shall not prosper.
42 Go not up, for the LORD is not among you; that ye be not smitten before your enemies.

Numbers 14:35-44 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling

35 For as I spake, so I shall do to all this worst multitude, that rose together against me; it shall fail, and shall die in this wilderness.
36 Therefore all the men which Moses had sent to see the land, and which turned again, and made all the multitude to grutch against him, and depraved the land,
37 that it was evil, were dead, and smitten in the sight of the Lord.
38 Soothly Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, lived, of all the men, that went to see the land.
39 And Moses spake all these words to all the sons of Israel, and the people mourned greatly.
40 And, lo! they rose in the morrow-tide first, and they went up into the top of the hill, and said, We be ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord spake, for we have sinned.
41 To whom Moses said, Why over-pass ye the word of the Lord, that shall not befall to you into prosperity?
42 Do not ye go up, for the Lord is not with you, lest ye fall before your enemies.
43 Amalek and Canaanites be before you, by the sword of which ye shall fall, for ye would not assent to the Lord, neither the Lord shall be with you.
44 And they were made dark, that is, blinded in their sin, and went up into the top of the hill; forsooth the ark of the testament of the Lord and Moses went not away from the tents.

Numbers 14:35-44 in Wycliffe's Bible with Modern Spelling (Enhanced)

35 For as I spake, so I shall do to all this worst multitude, that rose (up) together against me; it shall fail (or they shall fail), and shall die in this wilderness.
36 Therefore all the men which Moses had sent to see the land, and which turned again, and made all the multitude to grouch against him, and depraved the land, (And so all the men whom Moses had sent to look over the land, and returned, and then had made all the multitude to grumble against him, and to despise the land,)
37 that it was evil, were dead, and smitten in the sight of the Lord. (by saying that it was evil, were then struck by the Lord with a pestilence, or a plague, and died.)
38 Soothly (only) Joshua, the son of Nun, and Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, lived, of all the men, that went to see the land (or who went to see the land).
39 And Moses spake all these words to all the sons of Israel, and the people mourned greatly. (And Moses spoke all these words to all the Israelites, and the people greatly mourned.)
40 And, lo! they rose in the morrowtide first, and they went up into the top of the hill, and said, We be ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord spake, for we have sinned. (And behold! they rose up early the next morning, and left to go up into the heights of the hill country, saying, See, now we be ready to go up to the place, of which the Lord hath spoken, and we confess, that we have sinned.)
41 To whom Moses said, Why over-pass ye the word of the Lord, that shall not befall to you into prosperity? (To whom Moses said, Why pass ye over the word of the Lord? this shall not befall to you into any prosperity, or any success, but only evil.)
42 Do not ye go up, for the Lord is not with you, lest ye fall before your enemies. (Do not ye go up, for the Lord is not with you, and ye shall fall before your enemies.)
43 Amalek and Canaanites be before you, by the sword of which ye shall fall, for ye would not assent to the Lord, neither the Lord shall be with you. (The Amalekites and the Canaanites be before you, by whose sword ye shall fall, for ye would not assent to the Lord, and so the Lord shall not be with you.)
44 And they were made dark, that is, blinded in their sin, and went up into the top of the hill; forsooth the ark of the testament of the Lord and Moses went not away from the tents. (But they were blinded by their sin, and they went up anyway into the heights of the hill country; but neither the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord, that is, the Ark of the Witnessing, nor Moses, left the camp.)
