²⁷ How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

²⁸ Say unto them, As I live, saith Jehovah, surely as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

²⁹ your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, that have murmured against me,

³⁰ surely ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware that I would make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³¹ But your little ones, that ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have rejected.

³² But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.

³³ And your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your whoredoms, until your dead bodies be consumed in the wilderness.

³⁴ After the number of the days in which ye spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my alienation.

²⁷ How long shall I endure this wicked congregation? I have heard their murmurings against me, even the murmuring of the children of Israel, which they have murmured concerning you.

³¹ And your little ones, who ye said should be a prey, them will I bring into the land; and they shall inherit the land, which ye rejected.

³² And your carcases shall fall in this wilderness.

³³ And your sons shall be fed in the wilderness forty years, and they shall bear your fornication, until your carcases be consumed in the wilderness.

³⁴ According to the number of the days during which ye spied the land, forty days, a day for a year, ye shall bear your sins forty years, and ye shall know my fierce anger.

²⁷ “How long will the wicked people of this nation keep complaining about me RHQ? I have heard everything that they have grumbled/complained against me.

²⁸ So now tell them this: ‘Just as certainly as I, Yahweh, live, I will do exactly what you said would happen.

²⁹ I will cause all of you to die here in this desert! Because you grumbled about me, none of you who are more than twenty years old and who were counted when Moses counted everyone

³⁰ will enter the land that I solemnly promised to give to you. Only Caleb and Joshua will enter that land.

³¹ You said that your children would be taken from you to become slaves, but I will take them into the land, and they will enjoy living in the land that you ◄rejected/said that you could not conquer►.

³² But as for you adults, you will die here in this desert.

³³ And like shepherds wander around in the desert as they take care of their sheep, your children will wander around in this desert for forty years. Because you adults were not loyal/faithful to me, your children will suffer until you all die in the desert.

³⁴ You will suffer for your sins for forty years. That will be one year for each of the forty days that the twelve men explored Canaan land. And I will be like an enemy to you.’

²⁷ How long shall I endure this wicked congregation? I have heard their murmurings against me, even the murmuring of the children of Israel, which they have murmured concerning you.

²⁷ How long am I to put up with this evil people and their outcries against me? The words which they say against me have come to my ears.

²⁸ Say to them, By my life, says the Lord, as certainly as your words have come to my ears, so certainly will I do this to you:

²⁹ Your dead bodies will be stretched out in this waste land; and of all your number, all those of twenty years old and over who have been crying out against me,

³⁰ Not one will come into the land which I gave my word you would have for your resting-place, but only Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, the son of Nun.

³¹ And your little ones, whom you said would come into strange hands, I will take in, and they will see the land which you would not have.

³² But as for you, your dead bodies will be stretched in this waste land.

³³ And your children will be wanderers in the waste land for forty years, undergoing punishment for your false ways, till your bodies become dust in the waste land.

³⁴ And as you went through the land viewing it for forty days, so for forty years, a year for every day, you will undergo punishment for your wrongdoing, and you will see that I am against you.

²⁷ How long shall I bear with this evil assembly, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

²⁸ Say unto them, As surely as I live, saith Jehovah, if I do not do unto you as ye have spoken in mine ears!

²⁹ In this wilderness shall your carcases fall; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number from twenty years old and upwards, who have murmured against me,

³⁰ shall in no wise come into the land, concerning which I have lifted up my hand to make you dwell in it; save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³¹ But your little ones, of whom ye said they should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land that ye have despised.

²⁷ How long doth this wicked multitude murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel.

²⁸ Say therefore to them: As I live, saith the Lord: According as you have spoken in my hearing, so will I do to you.

²⁹ In the wilderness shall your carcasses lie. All you that were numbered from twenty years old and upward, and have murmured against me,

³⁰ Shall not enter into the land, over which I lifted up my bend to make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephone, and Josue the son of Nun.

³¹ But your children, of whom you said, that they should be a prey to the enemies, will I bring in: that they may see the land which you have despised.

³² Your carcasses shall lie in the wilderness.

³³ Your children shall wander in the desert forty years, and shall bear your fornication, until the carcasses of their fathers be consumed ill the desert,

³⁴ According to the number of the forty days, wherein you viewed the land: year shall be counted for a day. And forty years you shall receive your iniquities, and shall know my revenge:

²⁷ “How much longer are these wicked people going to criticize me? I've heard what they're saying, making complaints against me.

²⁸ Go and tell them, ‘As I live, declares the Lord, I'll do just what I heard you say you wanted, believe me!

²⁹ All of you will die in this desert, everyone who was registered in the census that counted those aged twenty or over, because you made complaints against me.

³⁰ Absolutely none of you will enter the country I promised to give you to live in, except for Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, son of Nun.

³¹ However, I will take your children—those you said would be taken away as plunder—into the country you rejected, and they will appreciate it.

³² But you—you are all going to die in this desert.

³³ Your children will wander in the desert for forty years, suffering because of your lack of trust until all your bodies lie buried in the desert.

³⁴ Just as you explored the country for forty days, so shall your punishment for your sins be forty years, a year for every day, and you will see what happens when I oppose you.

²⁷ How long shall I suffer this wicked multitude to murmure against me? I haue heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmure against me.

²⁸ Tell them, As I liue (saith the Lord) I wil surely do vnto you, euen as ye haue spoken in mine eares.

²⁹ Your carkeises shall fall in this wildernes, and all you that were counted through all your nombers, from twentie yeere olde and aboue, which haue murmured against me,

³⁰ Ye shall not doubtles come into the land, for the which I lifted vp mine hande, to make you dwell therein, saue Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh, and Ioshua the sonne of Nun.

³¹ But your children, (which ye said shoulde be a pray) them will I bring in, and they shall knowe the lande which ye haue refused:

³² But euen your carkeises shall fall in this wildernes,

³³ And your children shall wander in the wildernesse, fourtie yeeres, and shall beare your whoredomes, vntill your carkeises be wasted in the wildernesse.

³⁴ After the number of the dayes, in the which ye searched out the lande, euen fourtie dayes, euery day for a yeere, shall ye beare your iniquity, for fourtie yeeres, and ye shall feele my breach of promise.

²⁷ 'How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that keep murmuring against Me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they keep murmuring against Me.

²⁸ Say unto them: As I live, saith the LORD, surely as ye have spoken in Mine ears, so will I do to you:

²⁹ your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness, and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, ye that have murmured against Me;

³⁰ surely ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I lifted up My hand that I would make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³¹ But your little ones, that ye said would be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have rejected.

³² But as for you, your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness.

³³ And your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your strayings, until your carcasses be consumed in the wilderness.

³⁴ After the number of the days in which ye spied out the land, even forty days, for every day a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know My displeasure.

²⁷ How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me? I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel, which they murmur against me.

²⁸ Say unto them, As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you:

²⁹ your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me,

²⁹ In this wilderness shall your carcasses fall, and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward; ye who have murmured against me;

³⁰ Truly ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I have lifted up my hand to let you dwell therein; save Caleb the son of Yephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³¹ But your little ones of which ye said, They would become a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.

³² But as for you, your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness.

³³ And your children shall wander about in the wilderness forty years, and bear your backslidings, until your carcasses be spent in the wilderness.

³⁴ After the number of the days in which ye spied out the land, forty days, yea, each one day for a year, shall ye bear for your iniquities, forty years; and ye shall experience my withdrawal of protection.

²⁷ How long shall I endure this wicked congregation? I have heard their murmurings against me, even the murmuring of the children of Israel, which they have murmured concerning you.

²⁸ Say to them, As I live, saith the Lord: surely as ye spoke into my ears, so will I do to you.

²⁹ Your carcasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all those of you that were reviewed, and those of you that were numbered from twenty years old and upward, all that murmured against me,

²⁹ In this wilderness shall your carcases fall, and all who are numbered of you, of all your numbers, from one of twenty years and upward who have murmured against me.

³⁰ If you shall come into the land in which I covenanted in My Word to cause you to dwell, except Kaleb bar Jephuneh, and Jehoshua bar Nun.

³¹ But your children, of whom you said they were for a prey, will I bring in, and they shall know the land which you have abhorred.

³² But your carcases shall fall in this wilderness;

³³ And your children shall go about in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your iniquities until your carcases be laid in the wilderness.

³⁴ According to the number of the days in which you explored the land, forty days, a day for a year, a day for a year, you shall receive for your sins, even forty years, and you shall know (the consequence of) your murmuring against me.

²⁷ “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, that murmur against me? I have sh'ma ·heard obeyed· the murmurings of the children of Israel God prevails, which they murmur against me.

²⁸ Tell them, ‘As I live, says Adonai , surely as you have spoken in my ears, so will I do to you.

²⁹ Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were counted of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against me,

³⁰ surely you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore that I would make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua Salvation Yah the son of Nun.

³¹ But your little ones, that you said should be captured or killed, them I will bring in, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.

³² But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.

³³ Your children shall be wanderers in the wilderness forty years, and shall bear your prostitution, until your dead bodies are consumed in the wilderness.

²⁷ “How long must I tolerate this evil community that criticizes me? I have heard the complaining of the people of Israel against me.

²⁸ Say to them, 'As I live,' says Yahweh, 'as you have spoken in my hearing, I will do this to you:

²⁹ Your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness, all you who complained against me, you who were counted in the census, the whole number of the people from twenty years old and upward.

³⁰ You will certainly not go into the land that I promised to make your home, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.

³¹ But your little ones who you said would be victims, I will take them into the land. They will experience the land that you have rejected!

³² As for you, your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness.

³³ Your children will be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years. They must bear the consequences of your acts of rebellion until the end of your corpses in the wilderness.

³⁴ Just as the number of the days during which you examined the land—forty days, you must likewise bear the consequences of your sins for forty years—one year for every day, and you must know what it is like for me to oppose you.

³³ And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your lewd deeds, until your carcasses shall be wasted in the wilderness.

³⁴ After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days (each day for a year) shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise.

²⁷ “How long shall I bear with this evil congregation that complain against me? I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel, which they complain against me.

²⁸ Tell them, ‘As I live, says the LORD, surely as you have spoken in my ears, so I will do to you.

²⁹ Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness; and all who were counted of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, who have complained against me,

³⁰ surely you shall not come into the land concerning which I swore that I would make you dwell therein, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³¹ But I will bring in your little ones that you said should be captured or killed, and they shall know the land which you have rejected.

³² But as for you, your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness.

³⁰ shall not enter into the land, upon which I have raised mine hand, that I should make you to dwell there, except Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, the son of Nun.

³¹ Forsooth I shall lead in your little children, of which ye said that they should be preys, either ravens, to enemies, that they see the land which displeased you.

³² Forsooth your carrions shall lie in the wilderness;

³³ your sons shall be walkers-about in the desert by forty years, and they shall bear your fornication, till the carrions of their fathers be wasted in desert,

³⁴ by the number of forty days, in which ye beheld the land; a year shall be reckoned for a day, and by forty years ye shall receive your wickedness, or be punished for your grutching, and ye shall know my vengeance.

²⁷ How long groucheth this worst multitude against me? I have heard the grouching plaints of the sons of Israel. (How long grumbleth this worst multitude against me? I have heard all the grumbling and the complaints of the Israelites.)

²⁸ Therefore say thou to them, (As) I live, saith the Lord; as ye spake while I heard, so I shall do to you;

²⁹ your carrions, or dead bodies, shall lie in this wilderness. All ye that be numbered, from twenty years and above, and have grouched against me, (all your corpses shall lie here in this wilderness. All ye who be listed, or registered, from twenty years of age and older, and have grumbled against me,)

³⁰ shall not enter into the land, upon which I have raised (up) mine hand, that I should make you to dwell there (or where I would have you live), except Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, the son of Nun.

³¹ Forsooth I shall lead in your little children, of which ye said that they should be preys, either ravens, to (thine) enemies, that they see the land which displeased you. (But I shall lead in your little children, they of whom ye said would become your enemies’ spoils, so that they can have the land which hath so displeased you.)

³² Forsooth your carrions shall lie in the wilderness; (But your corpses shall lie here in this wilderness;)

³³ your sons shall be walkers-about in the desert by forty years, and they shall bear your fornication, till the carrions of their fathers be wasted in (the) desert, (your sons shall be wanderers in this wilderness for forty years, and they shall bear your punishment, until their fathers’ corpses be wasted in this wilderness,)

³⁴ by the number of forty days, in which ye beheld the land; a year shall be reckoned for a day, and by forty years ye shall receive (the penalty for) your wickedness, or be punished for your grouching, and ye shall know my vengeance. (yea, for the forty days in which ye looked the land over, a year shall be reckoned for a day, and so for forty years ye shall receive the penalty for your wickedness, and shall be punished for your grumbling, and then ye shall know my vengeance.)

²⁷ Hou long grutchith this werste multitude ayens me? Y haue herd the pleyntis of the sones of Israel.

²⁸ Therfor seie thou to hem, Y lyue, seith the Lord; as ye spaken while Y herde, so Y schal do to you;

²⁹ youre careyns schulen ligge in this wildirnesse. Alle ye that ben noumbrid, fro twenti yeer and aboue, and grutchiden ayens me,

³⁰ schulen not entre in to the lond, on which Y reiside myn hond, that Y schulde make you to dwelle outakun Caleph, the sone of Jephone, and Josue, the sone of Nun.

³¹ Forsothe Y schal lede in youre litle children, of whiche ye seiden that thei schulden be preyes `ethir raueyns to enemyes, that thei se the lond which displeside you.

³² Forsothe youre careyns schulen ligge in the wildirnesse;

³³ youre sones schulen be walkeris aboute in the deseert bi fourti yeer, and thei schulen bere youre fornycacioun, til the careyns of the fadris ben wastid in the deseert,

³⁴ by the noumbre of fourti daies, in whiche ye bihelden the loond; a yeer schal be arettid for a dai, and bi fourti yeer ye schulen resseyue youre wickidnesse, and ye schulen knowe my veniaunce.

²⁷ 'Until when hath this evil company that which they are murmuring against Me? the murmurings of the sons of Israel, which they are murmuring against Me, I have heard;

²⁸ say unto them, I live — an affirmation of Jehovah — if, as ye have spoken in Mine ears — so I do not to you;

²⁹ in this wilderness do your carcases fall, even all your numbered ones, to all your number, from a son of twenty years and upward, who have murmured against Me;

³⁰ ye — ye come not in unto the land which I have lifted up My hand to cause you to tabernacle in it, except Caleb son of Jephunneh, and Joshua son of Nun.

³¹ 'As to your infants — of whom ye have said, A spoil they are become — I have even brought them in, and they have known the land which ye have kicked against;

³² as to you — your carcases do fall in this wilderness,

³³ and your sons are evil in the wilderness forty years, and have borne your whoredoms till your carcases are consumed in the wilderness;

³⁴ by the number of the days in which ye spied the land, forty days, — a day for a year, a day for a year — ye do bear your iniquities, forty years, and ye have known my breaking off;
