² Send thou men, that they may spy out the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a prince among them.

³ And Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran according to the commandment of Jehovah: all of them men who were heads of the children of Israel.

⁴ And these were their names: Of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.

² “Send some men to Canaan land to explore it. That is the land that I will give to you Israelis. Send men who are leaders in their tribes.”

³ So Moses/I did what Yahweh commanded him/me. He/I sent out twelve Israeli men who were all leaders of their tribes. He/I sent them from their/our camp at Paran in the desert.

⁴ These are the names of the men and the tribes they belonged to: Shammua, the son of Zaccur, from the tribe of Reuben;

⁵ Shaphat, the son of Hori, from the tribe of Simeon;

⁶ Caleb, the son of Jephunneh, from the tribe of Judah;

⁷ Igal, the son of Joseph, from the tribe of Issachar;

⁸ Hoshea, the son of Nun, from the tribe of Ephraim;

⁹ Palti, the son of Raphu, from the tribe of Benjamin;

¹⁰ Gaddiel, the son of Sodi, from the tribe of Zebulun;

¹¹ Gaddi, the son of Susi, from the tribe of Manasseh;

¹² Ammiel, the son of Gemalli, from the tribe of Dan;

¹³ Sethur, the son of Michael, from the tribe of Asher;

³ Send men to view the land of Chanaan, which I will give to the children of Israel, one of every tribe, of the rulers.

⁴ Moses did what the Lord had commanded, sending from the desert of Pharan, principal men, whose names are these:

⁵ Of the tribe of Ruben, Sammua the son of Zechur.

⁶ Of the tribe of Simeon, Saphat the son of Hurl.

⁷ Of the tribe of Juda, Caleb the son of Jephone.

⁸ Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.

⁹ Of the tribe of Ephraim, Osee the son of Nun.

¹⁰ Of the tribe of Benjamin, Phalti the son of Raphu.

¹¹ Of the tribe of Zabulon, Geddiel the son of Sodi.

¹² Of the tribe of Joseph, of the sceptre of Manasses, Gaddi the son of Susi.

¹³ Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.

² “Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, the country I'm giving to the Israelites. Choose one of the leaders from each of the tribes to go and do this.”

³ Moses did as the Lord had ordered and sent the men out from the Desert of Paran. They were all leaders of the Israelites.

⁴ Their names were: Shammua son of Zaccur, from the tribe of Reuben.

⁵ Shaphat, son of Hori, from the tribe of Simeon.

⁶ Caleb, son of Jephunneh, from the tribe of Judah.

⁷ Igal, son of Joseph, from the tribe of Issachar.

⁸ Hoshea, son of Nun, from the tribe of Ephraim.

⁹ Palti son of Raphu, from the tribe of Benjamin.

¹⁰ Gaddiel, son of Sodi, from the tribe of Zebulun.

¹¹ Gaddi, son of Susi, from the tribe of Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph).

¹² Ammiel, son of Gemalli, from the tribe of Dan.

¹³ Sethur, son of Michael, from the tribe of Asher.

² And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

³ Sende thou men out to search the lande of Canaan which I giue vnto the children of Israel: of euery tribe of their fathers shall ye sende a man, such as are all rulers among them.

⁴ Then Moses sent them out of the wildernesse of Paran at the commandement of the Lord: all those men were heades of the children of Israel.
