¹⁷ And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way by the South, and go up into the hill-country:

¹⁸ and see the land, what it is; and the people that dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;

¹⁹ and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;

²⁰ and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.

²¹ So they went up, and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, to the entrance of Hamath.

¹⁷ And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Chanaan, and said to them, Go up by this wilderness; and ye shall go up to the mountain,

¹⁸ and ye shall see the land, what it is, and the people that dwells on it, whether it is strong or weak, or whether they are few or many.

¹⁹ And what the land is on which they dwell, whether it is good or bad; and what the cities are wherein these dwell, whether they dwell in walled cities or unwalled.

²⁰ And what the land is, whether rich or poor; whether there are trees in it or no: and ye shall persevere and take of the fruits of the land: and the days were the days of spring, the forerunners of the grape.

²¹ And they went up and surveyed the land from the wilderness of Sin to Rhoob, as men go in to Æmath.

¹⁷ And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain:

¹⁸ And see the land, what it is; and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many;

¹⁹ And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds;

²⁰ And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the firstripe grapes.

¹⁷ Before Moses/I sent them to explore Canaan, he/I said to them, “Go through the southern part of Canaan, and then go north into the hilly area.

¹⁸ See what the land is like. See if the people who live there are strong or weak. See if there are many people or only a few people.

¹⁹ Find out what kind of land they live in RHQ. Is it good or bad? Find out about the towns in which they live RHQ. Do they have walls around them or not?

²⁰ Find out about the soil RHQ. Is it ◄fertile/good for growing crops► or not? Find out if there are trees there RHQ. Try to bring back some of the fruit that grows in that land.” He said that because it was the beginning of the time to harvest grapes.

²¹ So those men went to Canaan. They went through the entire land, from the Zin wilderness in the south all the way to Rehob town near Lebo-Hamath in the north.

¹⁹ And what sort of land they are living in, if it is good or bad; and what their living-places are, tent-circles or walled towns;

²⁰ And if the land is fertile or poor, and if there is wood in it or not. And be of good heart, and come back with some of the produce of the land. Now it was the time when the first grapes were ready.

²¹ So they went up and got a view of the land, from the waste land of Zin to Rehob, on the way to Hamath.

¹⁷ And Moses sent them to search out the land of Canaan, and said to them, Go up this way by the south and go up into the hill-country,

¹⁸ and ye shall see the land, what it is; and the people that dwell in it, whether they are strong or weak, few or many;

¹⁹ and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;

¹⁷ These are the names of the men, whom Moses sent to view the land: and he called Osee the son of Nun, Josue.

¹⁸ And Moses sent them to view the land of Chanaan, and said to them: Go you up by the south side. And when you shall come to the mountains,

¹⁹ View the land, of what sort it is: and the people that are the inhabitants thereof, whether they be strong or weak: few in number or many:

²⁰ The land itself, whether it be good or bad: what manner of cities, walled or without walls:

²¹ The ground, fat or barren, woody or without trees. Be of good courage, and bring us of the fruits of the land. Now it was the time when the first ripe grapes are fit to be eaten.

¹⁷ Moses sent them out to explore the land of Canaan, telling them, “Go through the Negev and on into the hill country.

¹⁸ See what the place looks like, and find out about the people living there—are they strong or weak? Are there many of them or only a few?

¹⁹ Is the land where they're living good or bad? Are their towns like open camps, or do they have defensive walls?

²⁰ Is the soil productive or not? Is it forested? Be brave, and bring back some of the country's fruit.” (It was the beginning of the grape harvest.)

²¹ So the men went and explored the land all the way from the Desert of Zin to Rehob, bear Lebo-hamath.

¹⁷ These are the names of the men, which Moses sent to spie out the lande: and Moses called ye name of Oshea the sonne of Nun, Iehoshua.

¹⁸ So Moses sent them to spie out the lande of Canaan, and said vnto them, Go vp this way toward the South, and go vp into the moutaines,

¹⁹ And consider the land what it is, and the people that dwel therein, whether they be strong or weake, either fewe or many,

²⁰ Also what the lande is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad: and what cities they be, that they dwell in, whether they dwell in tents, or in walled townes:

²¹ And what the land is: whether it be fat or leane, whether there be trees therein, or not. And be of good courage, and bring of the fruite of the lande (for then was the time of the first ripe grapes)

¹⁷ And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, Go up by this wilderness; and ye shall go up to the mountain,

¹⁹ And what the land is in which they dwell, whether good or bad; and what the cities they inhabit, whether open, or walled in;

²⁰ And whether the land is rich or poor; whether it hath trees or not: and you, be of good courage, and bring of the fruits of the land. And the days were the days of the first grapes.

²¹ And they went up, and explored the country, from the wilderness of Zin unto Rechob, to come unto Hamath.

¹⁷ Moses Drawn out sent them to spy out the land of Canaan Humbled, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country.

¹⁸ See the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;

¹⁹ and what the land is that they dwell in, whether it is good or bad; and what cities they are that they dwell in, whether in camps, or in strongholds;

²⁰ and what the land is, whether it is fat or lean, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be courageous, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes. (2)

¹⁷ Moses sent them to examine the land of Canaan. He said to them, “Approach from the Negev and go up into the hill country.

¹⁸ Examine the land to see what it is like. Observe the people who live there, whether they are strong or weak, and whether they are few or many.

¹⁹ See what the land is like where they live. Is it good or bad? What cities are there? Are they like camps, or are they fortified cities?

²⁰ See what the land is like, whether it is good for growing crops or not, and whether there are trees there or not. Be brave and bring back samples of the land's produce.” Now the time was the season for the first ripe grapes.

²¹ So the men went up and examined the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near Lebo Hamath.

¹⁷ Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up this way by the South, and go up into the hill country.

¹⁸ See the land, what it is; and the people who dwell therein, whether they are strong or weak, whether they are few or many;

²⁰ whether the land is fat, either barren, whether it is full of woods, either without trees. Be ye comforted, and bring ye to us of the fruits of that land. Soothly then the time was, when the grapes first ripe might be eaten.

²⁰ whether the land is fat, either barren, whether it is full of woods, either without trees. Be ye comforted, and bring ye to us of the fruits of that land. Soothly then the time was, when the grapes first ripe might be eaten. (whether the land is fertile, or barren, whether it is full of woods, or without trees. Be ye strengthened, that is, be ye of good courage, and bring ye to us some of the fruits of that land. For it was then the time when the first ripe grapes could be eaten.)

¹⁷ These ben the names of men, which Moises sente to biholde the lond of Canaan; and he clepide Osee, the sone of Nun, Josue.

¹⁸ Therfor Moises sente hem to biholde the lond of Canaan, and seide to hem, `Stie ye bi the south coost; and whanne ye comen to the hillis,

¹⁹ biholde ye the lond, what maner lond it is; and biholde ye the puple which is the dwellere therof, whether it is strong, ethir feble, `whether thei ben fewe in noumbre, ether manye;

²⁰ whether that lond is good, ethir yuel; what maner citees ben, wallid, ether without wallis;

²¹ whether the lond is fat, ether bareyn, `whether it is ful of woodis, ethir without trees. Be ye coumfortid, and `brynge ye to vs of the fruytis of that lond. Sotheli the tyme was, whanne grapis first ripe myyten be etun thanne.
