²⁹ And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for Jehovah hath spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou shalt be to us instead of eyes.

³² And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what good soever Jehovah shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

³³ And they set forward from the mount of Jehovah three days’ journey; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting-place for them.

³⁴ And the cloud of Jehovah was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp.

²⁹ And Moses said to Obab the son of Raguel the Madianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are going forward to the place concerning which the Lord said, This will I give to you: Come with us, and we will do thee good, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said to him, I will not go, but I will go to my land and to my kindred.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, because thou hast been with us in the wilderness, and thou shalt be an elder among us.

³² And it shall come to pass if thou wilt go with us, it shall even come to pass that in whatsoever things the Lord shall do us good, we will also do thee good.

³³ And they departed from the mount of the Lord a three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them a three days' journey to provide rest for them.

³⁴ And it came to pass when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Arise, O Lord, and let thine enemies be scattered: let all that hate thee flee.

²⁹ One day Moses/I said to his/my brother-in-law Hobab, the son of Reuel from the Midian people-group, “We are on the way to the place that Yahweh promised to give to us. Come with us, and we will take good care of you, because Yahweh has promised to do good things for us Israeli people.”

³⁰ But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go with you. I want to return to my own land and to my own family.”

³¹ But Moses/I said, “Please do not leave us. You know the places where we can set up our tents in this desert, and you can guide us.

³² Come with us. We will share with you all the good things that Yahweh gives to us.”

³³ So Hobab agreed to go with them. The Israelis left Sinai Mountain, which they called Yahweh's Mountain, and they walked for three days. The men carrying the sacred chest went in front of the other people for those three days, and they kept looking for a place to set up their tents.

³⁴ The cloud sent by Yahweh was over them every day.

²⁹ And Moses said to Obab the son of Raguel the Madianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are going forward to the place concerning which the Lord said, This will I give to you: Come with us, and we will do you good, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁴ And the cloud overshadowed them by day, when they departed from the camp.

³⁰ But he said, I will not go with you, I will go back to the land of my birth and to my relations.

³¹ And he said, Do not go from us; for you will be eyes for us, guiding us to the right places in the waste land to put up our tents.

³² And if you come with us, we will give you a part in whatever good the Lord does for us.

³³ So they went forward three days' journey from the mountain of the Lord; and the ark of the Lord's agreement went three days' journey before them, looking for a resting-place for them;

³⁴ And by day the cloud of the Lord went over them, when they went forward from the place where they had put up their tents.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, We are journeying to the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it unto you: come with us, and we will do thee good; for Jehovah has spoken good concerning Israel.

³² And it shall be, if thou come with us, that whatever good Jehovah doeth unto us, so will we do to thee.

³³ And they set forward from the mountain of Jehovah and went three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah went before them in the three days' journey, to search out a resting-place for them.

³⁴ And the cloud of Jehovah was over them by day when they set forward out of the camp.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab the son of Raguel the Madianite, his kinsman: We are going towards the place which the Lord will give us: come with us, that we may do thee good: for the Lord hath promised good things to Israel.

³⁰ But he answered him: I will not go with thee, but I will return to my country, wherein I was born.

³¹ And he said: Do not leave us: for thou knowest in what places we should encamp in the wilderness, and thou shalt be our guide.

³² And if thou comest with us, we will give thee what is the best of the riches which the Lord shall deliver to us.

³³ So they marched from the mount of the Lord three days’ journey, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them, for three days providing a place for the camp.

³⁴ The cloud also of the Lord was over them by day when they marched.

²⁹ Moses explained to Hobab, the son of Moses' father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, “We're leaving for the place of which the Lord promised, ‘I'm going to give it to you.’ Come with us, and we'll be good to you, because the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

³⁰ “No, I won't go—I'll return to my own country and my own people,” Hobab replied.

³¹ “Please don't abandon us now,” Moses said, “because you're the one who knows where we should camp in the desert and you can guide us.

³² If you come with us, whatever good things the Lord blesses us with we'll share with you.”

³³ They left the mountain of the Lord to go on a three-day journey The Ark of the Lord's Agreement led the way for them during these three days to find a place for them to camp.

³⁴ The cloud of the Lord was above them during day as they moved on from the camp.

²⁹ After, Moses said vnto Hobab ye sonne of Reuel the Midianite, ye father in law of Moses, We go into the place, of which ye Lord said, I will giue it you: Come thou with vs, and we wil doe thee good: for ye Lord hath promised good vnto Israel.

³⁰ And he answered him, I will not goe: but I will depart to mine owne countrey, and to my kindred.

³¹ Then he sayd, I pray thee, leaue vs not: for thou knowest our camping places in the wildernesse: therefore thou mayest be our guide.

³² And if thou go with vs, what goodnes the Lord shall shew vnto vs, the same will we shewe vnto thee.

³³ So they departed from the mount of the Lord, three dayes iourney: and the Arke of the couenant of the Lord went before them in the three dayes iourney, to searche out a resting place for them.

³⁴ And the cloude of the Lord was vpon the by day, when they went out of the campe.

²⁹ And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law: 'We are journeying unto the place of which the LORD said: I will give it you; come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the LORD hath spoken good concerning Israel.'

³⁰ And he said unto him: 'I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.'

³¹ And he said, Do not, I pray thee, leave us; since thou didst find out the places where we were to encamp in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us instead of eyes.

³² And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that the same goodness which the Lord may do unto us, will we do unto thee.

³³ And they set forward from the mount of the Lord a three days' journey; and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days' journey, to search out for them a resting-place.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, I beseech thee; for thou knowest how we should encamp in the wilderness; and the great things that will be done for us thou wilt see with thine eyes.

³² And it shall be that if thou wilt go with us, with the good by which the Lord shall do us good, will we do good to thee.

³³ And from the mountain on which the glory of the Lord had been revealed they went forward, journeying three days; and the ark of the Lord’s covenant went before them, three days’ journey, to provide for them a place of encampment.

³⁴ And the Cloud of Glory of the Lord overspread them by day as they went forth from their encampments.

²⁹ Moses Drawn out said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite Descendant of Strife, Moses Drawn out’ father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place of which Adonai said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for Adonai has spoken good concerning Israel God prevails.”

³⁰ He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.”

³¹ He said, “Don’t leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.

³² It shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good Adonai does to us, we will do the same to you.”

³³ They set forward from the Mount of Adonai three days’ journey. The ark of Adonai ’s covenant went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting place for them.

³⁴ The cloud of Adonai was over them by day, when they set forward from the camp. (A:6)

²⁹ Moses spoke to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite. Reuel was the father of Moses' wife. Moses spoke to Hobab and said, “We are traveling to a place that Yahweh described. Yahweh said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us and we will do you good. Yahweh has promised to do good for Israel.”

³⁰ But Hobab said to Moses, “I will not go with you. I will go to my own land and my own people.”

³¹ Then Moses replied, “Please do not leave us. You know how to camp in the wilderness. You must watch out for us.

³² If you go with us, we will do for you the same good that Yahweh does to us.”

³³ They journeyed from the mountain of Yahweh for three days. The ark of the covenant of Yahweh went before them for three days to find a place for them to rest.

³⁴ Yahweh's cloud was over them by daylight as they journeyed.

³¹ And Moses said, Do not thou forsake us, for thou knowest in which places we owe to set tents, and thou shalt be our leader;

³² and when thou shalt come with us, whatever thing shall be best of the riches that the Lord shall give to us, we shall give to thee.

³³ And therefore they went forth from the hill or mount of the Lord the way of three days; and the ark of the bond of peace of the Lord went before them, by those three days, and purveyed the places of their tents.

³⁴ And the cloud of the Lord was upon, or over, them by day, when they went forth.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab, the son of Raguel, of Midian, his ally, either, (or the) father of his wife, We (shall) go forth to the place which the Lord shall give to us; come thou with us, that we do well to thee, (or come thou with us, and we shall treat thee well), for the Lord hath promised good things to Israel.

³⁰ To whom he answered, I shall not go with thee, but I shall turn again into my land, in which I was born. (To whom he answered, I shall not go with thee, but I shall return to my own land, where I was born.)

³¹ And Moses said, Do not thou forsake us, for thou knowest in which places we ought to set tents (or for thou knowest where it is best for us to pitch our tents), and thou shalt be our leader;

³² and when thou shalt come with us, whatever thing shall be (the) best of the riches that the Lord shall give to us, we shall give to thee.

³³ And therefore they went forth from the hill of the Lord the way of three days; and the ark of the bond of peace of the Lord went before them, by those three days, and purveyed the places of their tents. (And so they went forth from Mount Sinai, the Lord’s mountain, the way of three days; and the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord, that is, the Ark of the Witnessing, always went ahead of them, to find a good place for their tents.)

³⁴ And the cloud of the Lord was upon, or over, them by day, when they went forth.

²⁹ And Moises seide to Heliab, the sone of Raguel, of Madian, his alie `ethir fadir of his wijf, We goon forth to the place which the Lord schal yyue to vs; come thou with vs, that we do wel to thee, for the Lord bihiyte goode thingis to Israel.

³⁰ To whom he answeride, Y schal not go with thee, but Y schal turne ayen in to my lond, in which Y was borun.

³¹ And Moises seide, Nyle thou forsake vs, for thou knowist in whiche places we owen to sette tentis, and thou schalt be oure ledere;

³² and whanne thou schalt come with vs, what euer thing schal be the beste of the richessis whiche the Lord schal yyue to vs, we schulen yyue to thee.

³³ And therfor thei yeden forth fro the hil of the Lord the weie of thre daies; and the arke of boond of pees of the Lord yede bifor hem, bi thre daies, and purueyde the place of tentis.

³⁴ And the cloude of the Lord was on hem bi day, whanne thei yeden.

²⁹ And Moses saith to Hobab son of Raguel the Midianite, father-in-law of Moses, 'We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah hath said, I give it to you; go with us, and we have done good to thee; for Jehovah hath spoken good concerning Israel.'

³⁰ And he saith unto him, 'I do not go; but unto my land and unto my kindred do I go.'

³¹ And he saith, 'I pray thee, forsake us not, because thou hast known our encamping in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us for eyes;

³² and it hath come to pass when thou goest with us, yea, it hath come to pass — that good which Jehovah doth kindly with us — it we have done kindly to thee.'

³³ And they journey from the mount of Jehovah a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah is journeying before them the journey of three days, to spy out for them a resting-place;

³⁴ and the cloud of Jehovah is on them by day, in their journeying from the camp.
