²¹ And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the others did set up the tabernacle against their coming.

²² And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

²³ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

²⁵ And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rearward of all the camps, set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

²⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ochran.

²⁷ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

²⁸ Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their hosts; and they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for Jehovah hath spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou shalt be to us instead of eyes.

³² And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that what good soever Jehovah shall do unto us, the same will we do unto thee.

²¹ And the sons of Caath shall set forward bearing the holy things, and the others shall set up the tabernacle until they arrive.

²² And the order of the camp of Ephraim shall set forward with their forces; and over their forces was Elisama the son of Semiud.

²³ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Manasse, was Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.

²⁴ And over the forces of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, was Abidan the son of Gadeoni.

²⁵ And the order of the camp of the sons of Dan shall set forward the last of all the camps, with their forces: and over their forces was Achiezer the son of Amisadai.

²⁶ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Aser, was Phageel the son of Echran.

²⁷ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Nephthali, was Achire the son of Ænan.

²⁸ These are the armies of the children of Israel; and they set forward with their forces.

²⁹ And Moses said to Obab the son of Raguel the Madianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are going forward to the place concerning which the Lord said, This will I give to you: Come with us, and we will do thee good, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said to him, I will not go, but I will go to my land and to my kindred.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, because thou hast been with us in the wilderness, and thou shalt be an elder among us.

³² And it shall come to pass if thou wilt go with us, it shall even come to pass that in whatsoever things the Lord shall do us good, we will also do thee good.

²¹ The group descended from Kohath was next. They carried the sacred items from the Sacred Tent. The Sacred Tent itself was set up at the new location before they arrived there.

²² The group from the tribe of Ephraim was next, carrying their flag. Elishama, the son of Ammihud, was their leader.

²³ The group from the tribe of Manasseh went next. Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur, was their leader.

²⁴ The group from the tribe of Benjamin, went next. Abidan, the son of Gideoni, was their leader.

²⁵ The ones who went last were the group from the tribe of Dan, carrying their flag. Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai, was their leader.

²⁶ The group from the tribe of Asher went next. Pagiel, the son of Ocran, was their leader.

²⁷ The group from the tribe of Naphtali went last. Ahira, the son of Enan, was their leader.

²⁸ That was the order in which the groups of Israeli tribes traveled.

²⁹ One day Moses/I said to his/my brother-in-law Hobab, the son of Reuel from the Midian people-group, “We are on the way to the place that Yahweh promised to give to us. Come with us, and we will take good care of you, because Yahweh has promised to do good things for us Israeli people.”

³⁰ But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go with you. I want to return to my own land and to my own family.”

³¹ But Moses/I said, “Please do not leave us. You know the places where we can set up our tents in this desert, and you can guide us.

³² Come with us. We will share with you all the good things that Yahweh gives to us.”

²⁸ Thus were the travels of the children of Israel according to their armies; and they went forward.

²⁹ Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place of which Yahweh said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for Yahweh has spoken good concerning Israel.”

³⁰ He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.”

³¹ Moses said, “Don’t leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.

³² It shall be, if you go with us—yes, it shall be—that whatever good Yahweh does to us, we will do the same to you.”

²³ At the head of the army of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ At the head of the army of the children of Benjamin was Abidan, the son of Gideoni.

²⁵ And the flag of the children of Dan, whose tents were moved last of all, went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai.

²⁶ At the head of the army of the children of Asher was Pagiel, the son of Ochran.

²⁷ And at the head of the army of the children of Naphtali was Ahira, the son of Enan.

²⁸ This was the order in which the children of Israel were journeying by armies; so they went forward.

²⁹ Then Moses said to Hobab, the son of his father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, We are journeying to that place of which the Lord has said, I will give it to you: so come with us, and it will be for your profit: for the Lord has good things in store for Israel.

³⁰ But he said, I will not go with you, I will go back to the land of my birth and to my relations.

³¹ And he said, Do not go from us; for you will be eyes for us, guiding us to the right places in the waste land to put up our tents.

³² And if you come with us, we will give you a part in whatever good the Lord does for us.

²¹ And the Kohathites set forward bearing the sanctuary: and the others set up the tabernacle whilst they came.

²² And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their hosts, and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud;

²³ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;

²⁴ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

²⁵ And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, the rear-guard of all the camps according to their hosts, and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;

²⁶ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran;

²⁷ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

²⁸ These were the settings forward of the children of Israel according to their hosts: so did they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, We are journeying to the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it unto you: come with us, and we will do thee good; for Jehovah has spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said to him, I will not go; but to mine own land, and to my kindred will I go.

³¹ And he said, Leave me not, I pray thee, because thou knowest where we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou wilt be to us for eyes.

³² And it shall be, if thou come with us, that whatever good Jehovah doeth unto us, so will we do to thee.

²¹ Then the Caathites also marched carrying the sanctuary. So long was the tabernacle carried, till they same to the place of setting it up.

²² The sons of Ephraim also moved their camp by their troops, in whose army the prince was Elisama the son of Ammiud.

²³ And in the tribe of the sons of Manasses, the prince was Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.

²⁴ And in the tribe of Benjamin, the prince was Abidan the son of Gedeon.

²⁵ The last of all the camp marched the sons of Dan by their troops, in whose army the prince was Ahiezer the son of Ammisaddai.

²⁶ And in the tribe of the sons of Aser, the prince was Phegiel the son of Ochran.

²⁷ And in the tribe of the sons of Nephtali, the prince was Ahira the son of Enan.

²⁸ This was the order of the camps, and marches of the children of Israel by their troops, when they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab the son of Raguel the Madianite, his kinsman: We are going towards the place which the Lord will give us: come with us, that we may do thee good: for the Lord hath promised good things to Israel.

³⁰ But he answered him: I will not go with thee, but I will return to my country, wherein I was born.

³¹ And he said: Do not leave us: for thou knowest in what places we should encamp in the wilderness, and thou shalt be our guide.

³² And if thou comest with us, we will give thee what is the best of the riches which the Lord shall deliver to us.

²¹ Then the Kohathites set off, carrying the holy objects. The Tabernacle would be put up before they arrived.

²² Then came the divisions of Ephraim who marched out under their flag, with Elishama, son of Ammihud in charge.

²³ Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur, was in charge of the tribal division of Manasseh,

²⁴ and Abidan, son of Gideoni, was in charge of the tribal division of Benjamin.

²⁵ Lastly came the divisions of Dan who marched out under their flag, defending the rear of all the tribal groups, with Ahiezer, son of Ammishaddai, in charge.

²⁶ Pagiel, son of Ocran, was in charge of the tribal division of Asher,

²⁷ and Ahira, son of Enan, was in charge of the tribal division of Naphtali.

²⁸ This was the order in which the Israelite tribal divisions moved out.

²⁹ Moses explained to Hobab, the son of Moses' father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, “We're leaving for the place of which the Lord promised, ‘I'm going to give it to you.’ Come with us, and we'll be good to you, because the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

³⁰ “No, I won't go—I'll return to my own country and my own people,” Hobab replied.

³¹ “Please don't abandon us now,” Moses said, “because you're the one who knows where we should camp in the desert and you can guide us.

³² If you come with us, whatever good things the Lord blesses us with we'll share with you.”

²¹ The Kohathites also went forward and bare the Sanctuarie, and the former did set vp the Tabernacle against they came.

²² Then the standerd of the hoste of the children of Ephraim went forward according to their armies, and ouer his bande was Elishama the sonne of Ammiud.

²³ And ouer the band of the tribe of ye sonnes of Manasseh was Gamliel the sonne of Pedazur.

²⁴ And ouer the band of ye tribe of the sonnes of Beniamin was Abidan the sonne of Gideoni.

²⁵ Last, the standerd of the hoste of the children of Dan marched, gathering all ye hostes according to their armies: and ouer his bande was Ahiezer the sonne of Ammishaddai.

²⁶ And ouer the bande of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the sonne of Ocran.

²⁷ And ouer the bande of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira ye sonne of Enan.

²⁸ These were the remouings of the children of Israel according to their armies, whe they marched.

²⁹ After, Moses said vnto Hobab ye sonne of Reuel the Midianite, ye father in law of Moses, We go into the place, of which ye Lord said, I will giue it you: Come thou with vs, and we wil doe thee good: for ye Lord hath promised good vnto Israel.

³⁰ And he answered him, I will not goe: but I will depart to mine owne countrey, and to my kindred.

³¹ Then he sayd, I pray thee, leaue vs not: for thou knowest our camping places in the wildernesse: therefore thou mayest be our guide.

³² And if thou go with vs, what goodnes the Lord shall shew vnto vs, the same will we shewe vnto thee.

²¹ And the Kohathites the bearers of the sanctuary set forward, that the tabernacle might be set up against their coming.

²³ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Menasseh was Gamliel the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gidoni.

²⁵ Then set forward the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, the rereward of all the camps, according to their hosts: and over their host was Achiezer the son of 'Ammishaddai.

²⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of 'Ochran.

²⁷ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Achira the son of 'Enan.

²⁸ In this order were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said unto Chobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord hath said, This will I give unto you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the Lord hath spoken to bring good upon Israel.

³⁰ And he said unto him, I will not go; but to my own land, and to my birthplace will I go.

³¹ And he said, Do not, I pray thee, leave us; since thou didst find out the places where we were to encamp in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us instead of eyes.

³² And it shall be, if thou go with us, yea, it shall be, that the same goodness which the Lord may do unto us, will we do unto thee.

²¹ And the sons of Kohath shall set forward bearing the holy things, and the others shall set up the tabernacle until they arrive.

²² And the order of the camp of Ephraim shall set forward with their forces; and over their forces was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

²³ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ And over the forces of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

²⁵ And the order of the camp of the sons of Dan shall set forward the last of all the camps, with their forces: and over their forces was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

²⁶ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Asher, was Pagiel the son of Ochran.

²⁷ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, was Ahira the son of Enan.

²⁸ These are the armies of the children of Israel; and they set forward with their forces.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are going forward to the place concerning which the Lord said, This will I give to you: Come with us, and we will do thee good, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said to him, I will not go, but I will go to my land and to my kindred.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, because thou hast been with us in the wilderness, and thou shalt be an elder among us.

³² And it shall come to pass if thou wilt go with us, it shall even come to pass that in whatsoever things the Lord shall do us good, we will also do thee good.

²¹ And the sons of Kehath went forward, carrying the sanctuary, and (the Gershonites and sons of Merari) set up the tabernacle against they came.

²² And the standard of the camps of the Beni-Ephraim went forward by their hosts, and over his host was Elishama bar Amihud.

²³ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Menasheh was Gamliel bar Phedazur.

²⁴ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Benyamin, Abidan bar Gideoni.

²⁵ And the standard of the camps of the Beni Dan went forward collecting each camp according to their hosts; and over his host was Achiezer bar Amishaddai.

²⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Asher, Phagiel bar Akran;

²⁷ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Naphtali, Achira bar Enan.

²⁸ These are the journeys of the sons of Israel, and according to their hosts they went forward.

²⁹ And Mosheh said unto Hobab bar Reuel, the Midianite, the father-in-law of Mosheh, We are journeying to the place of which the Lord hath said, I will give it unto you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the Lord hath spoken, to bring good upon Israel.

³⁰ But he said to him, I will not go (with you), but to my country and to my kindred will I go.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, I beseech thee; for thou knowest how we should encamp in the wilderness; and the great things that will be done for us thou wilt see with thine eyes.

³² And it shall be that if thou wilt go with us, with the good by which the Lord shall do us good, will we do good to thee.

²⁵ The standard of the camp of the children of Dan He judged, which was the rear guard of all the camps, set forward according to their armies. Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai was over his army.

²⁶ Pagiel the son of Ochran was over the army of the tribe of the children of Asher Happy.

²⁷ Ahira the son of Enan was over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphtali My wrestling.

²⁸ Thus were the travels of the children of Israel God prevails according to their armies; and they went forward. (S:6)

²⁹ Moses Drawn out said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite Descendant of Strife, Moses Drawn out’ father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place of which Adonai said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for Adonai has spoken good concerning Israel God prevails.”

³⁰ He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.”

³¹ He said, “Don’t leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.

³² It shall be, if you go with us, yes, it shall be, that whatever good Adonai does to us, we will do the same to you.”

²¹ The Kohathites set out. They carried the sanctuary's holy equipment. Others would set up the tabernacle before the Kohathites arrived at the next camp.

²² The armies under the banner of Ephraim's descendants set out next. Elishama son of Ammihud led Ephraim's army.

²³ Gamaliel son of Pedahzur led the army of the tribe of Manasseh's descendants.

²⁴ Abidan son of Gideoni led the army of the tribe of Benjamin's descendants.

²⁵ The armies that camped under the banner of Dan's descendants set out last. Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai led Dan's army.

²⁶ Pagiel son of Okran led the army of the tribe of Asher's descendants.

²⁷ Ahira son of Enan led the army of the tribe of Naphtali's descendants.

²⁸ This is the way that the armies of the people of Israel set out on their journey.

²⁹ Moses spoke to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite. Reuel was the father of Moses' wife. Moses spoke to Hobab and said, “We are traveling to a place that Yahweh described. Yahweh said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us and we will do you good. Yahweh has promised to do good for Israel.”

³⁰ But Hobab said to Moses, “I will not go with you. I will go to my own land and my own people.”

³¹ Then Moses replied, “Please do not leave us. You know how to camp in the wilderness. You must watch out for us.

³² If you go with us, we will do for you the same good that Yahweh does to us.”

³¹ And Moses said, Do not thou forsake us, for thou knowest in which places we owe to set tents, and thou shalt be our leader;

³² and when thou shalt come with us, whatever thing shall be best of the riches that the Lord shall give to us, we shall give to thee.

²¹ And the sons of Kohath went forth, and bare the saintuary; and they raised the tabernacle till to the coming of them. (And then the sons of Kohath went forth, carrying the sacred vessels; and the Tabernacle was set up by the time that they had arrived.)

²² Also the sons of Ephraim, by their companies, moved their tents, in whose host the prince was Elishama, the son of Ammihud. (And then the sons of Ephraim, by their companies, moved their tents, in whose army the leader was Elishama, the son of Ammihud.)

²³ Forsooth in the lineage of the sons of Manasseh the prince was Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ And in the lineage of (the sons of) Benjamin the duke was Abidan, the son of Gideoni. (And in the tribe of Benjamin the leader was Abidan, the son of Gideoni.)

³¹ And Moses said, Do not thou forsake us, for thou knowest in which places we ought to set tents (or for thou knowest where it is best for us to pitch our tents), and thou shalt be our leader;

³² and when thou shalt come with us, whatever thing shall be (the) best of the riches that the Lord shall give to us, we shall give to thee.

²¹ And the sones of Caath yeden forth, and baren the seyntuarie; so longe the tabernacle was borun, til thei camen to the place of reisyng therof.

²² Also the sones of Effraym, bi her cumpanyes, moueden tentis, in whos oost the prince was Elisama, the sone of Amyud.

²³ Forsothe in the lynage of the sones of Manasses the prince was Gamaliel, the sone of Phadussur.

²⁴ And in the lynage of Beniamyn the duk was Abidan, the sone of Gedeon.

²⁵ The sones of Dan, bi her cumpenyes, yeden forth the laste of alle tentis, in whos oost the prince was Aizer, the sone of Amysaddai.

²⁶ Sotheli in the lynage of the sones of Aser the prince was Phegiel, the sone of Ochran.

²⁷ And in the lynage of the sones of Neptalym the prince was Haira, the sone of Henan.

²⁸ These ben the castels and the goinges forth of the sones of Israel, bi her cumpenyes, whanne thei yeden out.

²⁹ And Moises seide to Heliab, the sone of Raguel, of Madian, his alie `ethir fadir of his wijf, We goon forth to the place which the Lord schal yyue to vs; come thou with vs, that we do wel to thee, for the Lord bihiyte goode thingis to Israel.

³⁰ To whom he answeride, Y schal not go with thee, but Y schal turne ayen in to my lond, in which Y was borun.

³¹ And Moises seide, Nyle thou forsake vs, for thou knowist in whiche places we owen to sette tentis, and thou schalt be oure ledere;

³² and whanne thou schalt come with vs, what euer thing schal be the beste of the richessis whiche the Lord schal yyue to vs, we schulen yyue to thee.

²¹ And the Kohathites have journeyed, bearing the tabernacle, and the others have raised up the tabernacle until their coming in.

²⁸ These are journeyings of the sons of Israel by their hosts — and they journey.

³¹ And he saith, 'I pray thee, forsake us not, because thou hast known our encamping in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us for eyes;

³² and it hath come to pass when thou goest with us, yea, it hath come to pass — that good which Jehovah doth kindly with us — it we have done kindly to thee.'
