¹¹ And it came to pass in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony.

¹² And the children of Israel set forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud abode in the wilderness of Paran.

¹³ And they first took their journey according to the commandment of Jehovah by Moses.

¹⁴ And in the first place the standard of the camp of the children of Judah set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

¹⁵ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.

¹⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

¹⁷ And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bare the tabernacle, set forward.

¹⁸ And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

¹⁹ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

²⁰ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

²¹ And the Kohathites set forward, bearing the sanctuary: and the others did set up the tabernacle against their coming.

²² And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

²³ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

²⁵ And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, which was the rearward of all the camps, set forward according to their hosts: and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

²⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ochran.

²⁷ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

²⁸ Thus were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their hosts; and they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, We are journeying unto the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for Jehovah hath spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said unto him, I will not go; but I will depart to mine own land, and to my kindred.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, I pray thee; forasmuch as thou knowest how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou shalt be to us instead of eyes.

¹⁹ And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Symeon, was Salamiel son of Surisadai.

²⁰ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad, was Elisaph the son of Raguel.

²¹ And the sons of Caath shall set forward bearing the holy things, and the others shall set up the tabernacle until they arrive.

²² And the order of the camp of Ephraim shall set forward with their forces; and over their forces was Elisama the son of Semiud.

²³ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Manasse, was Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.

²⁴ And over the forces of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, was Abidan the son of Gadeoni.

²⁵ And the order of the camp of the sons of Dan shall set forward the last of all the camps, with their forces: and over their forces was Achiezer the son of Amisadai.

²⁶ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Aser, was Phageel the son of Echran.

²⁷ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Nephthali, was Achire the son of Ænan.

²⁸ These are the armies of the children of Israel; and they set forward with their forces.

²⁹ And Moses said to Obab the son of Raguel the Madianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are going forward to the place concerning which the Lord said, This will I give to you: Come with us, and we will do thee good, for the Lord has spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said to him, I will not go, but I will go to my land and to my kindred.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, because thou hast been with us in the wilderness, and thou shalt be an elder among us.

¹¹ On the twentieth day of May in the second year after the/we Israelis left Egypt, the cloud rose up from above the Sacred Tent.

¹² So we/the Israelis traveled from the Sinai Desert, and we/they continued traveling north until the cloud stopped in the Paran Desert.

¹³ That was the first time we/they moved, obeying the instructions that Yahweh had given to Moses/me to tell them.

¹⁴ The group that went first, carrying their flag/banner, was the group from the tribe of Judah. Nahshon, the son of Amminadab, was their leader.

¹⁵ The group from the tribe of Issachar followed them. Nethanel, the son of Zuar, was their leader.

¹⁶ The group from the tribe of Zebulun went next. Eliab, the son of Helon, was their leader.

¹⁷ Then they dismantled the Sacred Tent, and the descendants of Gershon and Merari carried it, and they went next.

¹⁸ The group from the tribe of Reuben went next, carrying their flag. Elizur, the son of Shedeur, was their leader.

¹⁹ The group from the tribe of Simeon was next. Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai, was their leader.

²⁰ The group from the tribe of Gad was next. Eliasaph, the son of Deuel, was their leader.

²¹ The group descended from Kohath was next. They carried the sacred items from the Sacred Tent. The Sacred Tent itself was set up at the new location before they arrived there.

²² The group from the tribe of Ephraim was next, carrying their flag. Elishama, the son of Ammihud, was their leader.

²³ The group from the tribe of Manasseh went next. Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur, was their leader.

²⁴ The group from the tribe of Benjamin, went next. Abidan, the son of Gideoni, was their leader.

²⁵ The ones who went last were the group from the tribe of Dan, carrying their flag. Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai, was their leader.

²⁶ The group from the tribe of Asher went next. Pagiel, the son of Ocran, was their leader.

²⁷ The group from the tribe of Naphtali went last. Ahira, the son of Enan, was their leader.

²⁸ That was the order in which the groups of Israeli tribes traveled.

²⁹ One day Moses/I said to his/my brother-in-law Hobab, the son of Reuel from the Midian people-group, “We are on the way to the place that Yahweh promised to give to us. Come with us, and we will take good care of you, because Yahweh has promised to do good things for us Israeli people.”

³⁰ But Hobab replied, “No, I will not go with you. I want to return to my own land and to my own family.”

³¹ But Moses/I said, “Please do not leave us. You know the places where we can set up our tents in this desert, and you can guide us.

¹¹ And it came to pass in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud went up from the tabernacle of witness.

²⁷ Ahira the son of Enan was over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphtali.

²⁸ Thus were the travels of the children of Israel according to their armies; and they went forward.

²⁹ Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are journeying to the place of which the LORD said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for the LORD has spoken good concerning Israel.”

³⁰ He said to him, “I will not go; but I will depart to my own land, and to my relatives.”

³¹ Moses said, “Don’t leave us, please; because you know how we are to encamp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.

¹¹ Now in the second year, on the twentieth day of the second month, the cloud was taken up from over the Tent of witness.

¹² And the children of Israel went on their journey out of the waste land of Sinai; and the cloud came to rest in the waste land of Paran.

¹³ They went forward for the first time on their journey as the Lord had given orders by the hand of Moses.

¹⁴ First the flag of the children of Judah went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Nahshon, the son of Amminadab.

¹⁵ And at the head of the army of the children of Issachar was Nethanel, the son of Zuar.

¹⁶ And at the head of the army of the children of Zebulun was Eliab, the son of Helon.

¹⁷ Then the House was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who were responsible for moving the House, went forward.

¹⁸ Then the flag of the children of Reuben went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Elizur, the son of Shedeur.

¹⁹ And at the head of the army of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel, the son of Zurishaddai.

²⁰ At the head of the army of the children of Gad was Eliasaph, the son of Reuel.

²¹ Then the Kohathites went forward with the holy place; the others put up the House ready for their coming.

²² Then the flag of the children of Ephraim went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Elishama, the son of Ammihud.

²³ At the head of the army of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel, the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ At the head of the army of the children of Benjamin was Abidan, the son of Gideoni.

²⁵ And the flag of the children of Dan, whose tents were moved last of all, went forward with their armies: and at the head of his army was Ahiezer, the son of Ammishaddai.

²⁶ At the head of the army of the children of Asher was Pagiel, the son of Ochran.

²⁷ And at the head of the army of the children of Naphtali was Ahira, the son of Enan.

²⁸ This was the order in which the children of Israel were journeying by armies; so they went forward.

²⁹ Then Moses said to Hobab, the son of his father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, We are journeying to that place of which the Lord has said, I will give it to you: so come with us, and it will be for your profit: for the Lord has good things in store for Israel.

³⁰ But he said, I will not go with you, I will go back to the land of my birth and to my relations.

³¹ And he said, Do not go from us; for you will be eyes for us, guiding us to the right places in the waste land to put up our tents.

¹¹ And it came to pass in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth of the month, that the cloud was taken up from off the tabernacle of the testimony.

¹² And the children of Israel set forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud stood still in the wilderness of Paran.

¹³ And they first took their journey, according to the commandment of Jehovah through Moses.

¹⁴ The standard of the camp of the children of Judah set forward first according to their hosts, and over his host was Nahshon the son of Amminadab;

¹⁵ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel the son of Zuar;

¹⁶ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.

¹⁷ And the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set forward bearing the tabernacle.

¹⁸ And the standard of the camp of Reuben set forward according to their hosts, and over his host was Elizur the son of Shedeur;

¹⁹ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;

²⁰ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

²¹ And the Kohathites set forward bearing the sanctuary: and the others set up the tabernacle whilst they came.

²² And the standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set forward according to their hosts, and over his host was Elishama the son of Ammihud;

²³ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;

²⁴ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

²⁵ And the standard of the camp of the children of Dan set forward, the rear-guard of all the camps according to their hosts, and over his host was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai;

²⁶ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran;

²⁷ and over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.

²⁸ These were the settings forward of the children of Israel according to their hosts: so did they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, We are journeying to the place of which Jehovah said, I will give it unto you: come with us, and we will do thee good; for Jehovah has spoken good concerning Israel.

³⁰ And he said to him, I will not go; but to mine own land, and to my kindred will I go.

³¹ And he said, Leave me not, I pray thee, because thou knowest where we are to encamp in the wilderness, and thou wilt be to us for eyes.

¹² And the children of Israel marched by their troops from the desert of Sinai, and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Pharan.

¹³ And the first went forward according to the commandment of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

¹⁴ The sons of Juda by their troops: whose prince was Nahasson the son of Aminadab.

¹⁵ In the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the prince was Nathanael the son of Suar.

¹⁶ In the tribe of Zabulon, the prince was Eliab the son of Helon.

¹⁷ And the tabernacle was taken down, and the sons of Gerson and Merari set forward, bearing it.

¹⁸ And the sons of Ruben also marched, by their troops and ranks, whose prince was Helisur the son of Sedeur.

¹⁹ And in the tribe of Simeon, the prince was Salamiel the son of Surisaddai.

²⁰ And in the tribe of Cad, the prince was Eliasaph the son of Duel.

²¹ Then the Caathites also marched carrying the sanctuary. So long was the tabernacle carried, till they same to the place of setting it up.

²² The sons of Ephraim also moved their camp by their troops, in whose army the prince was Elisama the son of Ammiud.

²³ And in the tribe of the sons of Manasses, the prince was Gamaliel the son of Phadassur.

²⁴ And in the tribe of Benjamin, the prince was Abidan the son of Gedeon.

²⁵ The last of all the camp marched the sons of Dan by their troops, in whose army the prince was Ahiezer the son of Ammisaddai.

²⁶ And in the tribe of the sons of Aser, the prince was Phegiel the son of Ochran.

²⁷ And in the tribe of the sons of Nephtali, the prince was Ahira the son of Enan.

²⁸ This was the order of the camps, and marches of the children of Israel by their troops, when they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said to Hobab the son of Raguel the Madianite, his kinsman: We are going towards the place which the Lord will give us: come with us, that we may do thee good: for the Lord hath promised good things to Israel.

³⁰ But he answered him: I will not go with thee, but I will return to my country, wherein I was born.

³¹ And he said: Do not leave us: for thou knowest in what places we should encamp in the wilderness, and thou shalt be our guide.

¹¹ The cloud rose up from the Tabernacle of the Testimony on the twentieth day of the second month of the second year.

¹² The Israelites left the Desert of Sinai and moved from place to place until the cloud stopped in the Desert of Paran.

¹³ This was the first time they moved out following the Lord's command through Moses.

¹⁴ The tribal divisions of Judah went first, marching out under their flag, with Nahshon, son of Amminadab, in charge.

¹⁵ Nethanel, son of Zuar, was in charge of the tribal division of Issachar,

¹⁶ and Eliab, son of Helon, was in charge of the tribal division of Zebulun.

¹⁷ Then the Tabernacle was dismantled, and the Gershonites and the Merarites set off, carrying it.

¹⁸ Then came the divisions of Reuben who marched out under their flag, with Elizur, son of Shedeur, in charge.

¹⁹ Shelumiel, son of Zurishaddai, was in charge of the tribal division of Simeon,

²⁰ and Eliasaph, son of Deuel, was in charge of the tribal division of Gad.

²¹ Then the Kohathites set off, carrying the holy objects. The Tabernacle would be put up before they arrived.

²² Then came the divisions of Ephraim who marched out under their flag, with Elishama, son of Ammihud in charge.

²³ Gamaliel, son of Pedahzur, was in charge of the tribal division of Manasseh,

²⁴ and Abidan, son of Gideoni, was in charge of the tribal division of Benjamin.

²⁵ Lastly came the divisions of Dan who marched out under their flag, defending the rear of all the tribal groups, with Ahiezer, son of Ammishaddai, in charge.

²⁶ Pagiel, son of Ocran, was in charge of the tribal division of Asher,

²⁷ and Ahira, son of Enan, was in charge of the tribal division of Naphtali.

²⁸ This was the order in which the Israelite tribal divisions moved out.

²⁹ Moses explained to Hobab, the son of Moses' father-in-law Reuel the Midianite, “We're leaving for the place of which the Lord promised, ‘I'm going to give it to you.’ Come with us, and we'll be good to you, because the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”

³⁰ “No, I won't go—I'll return to my own country and my own people,” Hobab replied.

³¹ “Please don't abandon us now,” Moses said, “because you're the one who knows where we should camp in the desert and you can guide us.

¹¹ And in the seconde yeere, in the seconde moneth, and in the twentieth day of the moneth the cloude was taken vp from the Tabernacle of the Testimonie.

¹² And ye children of Israel departed on their iourneys out of the desart of Sinai, and the cloud rested in the wildernesse of Paran.

¹³ So they first tooke their iourney at the comandement of the Lord, by ye hand of Moses.

¹⁴ In the first place went the standerd of the hoste of the children of Iudah, according to their armies: and Nahshon the sonne of Amminabad was ouer his band.

¹⁵ And ouer the band of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethaneel ye sonne of Zuar.

¹⁶ And ouer the band of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the sonne of Helon.

¹⁷ When the Tabernacle was taken downe, then the sonnes of Gershon, and the sonnes of Merari went forward bearing the Tabernacle.

¹⁸ After, departed the standerd of the hoste of Reuben, according to their armies, and ouer his band was Elizur the sonne of Shedeur.

¹⁹ And ouer the band of the tribe of ye children of Simeon was Shelumiel the sonne of Shurishaddai.

²⁰ And ouer the bande of the tribe of ye children of Gad was Eliasaph the sonne of Deuel.

²¹ The Kohathites also went forward and bare the Sanctuarie, and the former did set vp the Tabernacle against they came.

²² Then the standerd of the hoste of the children of Ephraim went forward according to their armies, and ouer his bande was Elishama the sonne of Ammiud.

²³ And ouer the band of the tribe of ye sonnes of Manasseh was Gamliel the sonne of Pedazur.

²⁴ And ouer the band of ye tribe of the sonnes of Beniamin was Abidan the sonne of Gideoni.

²⁵ Last, the standerd of the hoste of the children of Dan marched, gathering all ye hostes according to their armies: and ouer his bande was Ahiezer the sonne of Ammishaddai.

²⁶ And ouer the bande of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the sonne of Ocran.

²⁷ And ouer the bande of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira ye sonne of Enan.

²⁸ These were the remouings of the children of Israel according to their armies, whe they marched.

²⁹ After, Moses said vnto Hobab ye sonne of Reuel the Midianite, ye father in law of Moses, We go into the place, of which ye Lord said, I will giue it you: Come thou with vs, and we wil doe thee good: for ye Lord hath promised good vnto Israel.

³⁰ And he answered him, I will not goe: but I will depart to mine owne countrey, and to my kindred.

³¹ Then he sayd, I pray thee, leaue vs not: for thou knowest our camping places in the wildernesse: therefore thou mayest be our guide.

²³ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Menasseh was Gamliel the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gidoni.

²⁵ Then set forward the standard of the camp of the children of Dan, the rereward of all the camps, according to their hosts: and over their host was Achiezer the son of 'Ammishaddai.

²⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of 'Ochran.

²⁷ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Achira the son of 'Enan.

²⁸ In this order were the journeyings of the children of Israel according to their armies, when they set forward.

²⁹ And Moses said unto Chobab, the son of Reuel the Midianite, the father-in-law of Moses, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord hath said, This will I give unto you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the Lord hath spoken to bring good upon Israel.

³⁰ And he said unto him, I will not go; but to my own land, and to my birthplace will I go.

³¹ And he said, Do not, I pray thee, leave us; since thou didst find out the places where we were to encamp in the wilderness, and thou hast been to us instead of eyes.

¹¹ And it came to pass in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud went up from the tabernacle of witness.

¹² And the children of Israel set forward with their baggage in the wilderness of Sinai; and the cloud rested in the wilderness of Paran.

¹³ And the first rank departed by the word of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

¹⁴ And they first set in motion the order of the camp of the children of Judah with their host; and over their host was Nahshon, son of Amminadab.

¹⁵ And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, was Nethanel son of Zuar.

¹⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, was Eliab the son of Helon.

¹⁷ And they shall take down the tabernacle, and the sons of Gershon shall set forward, and the sons of Merari, who bear the tabernacle.

¹⁸ And the order of the camp of Reuben set forward with their host; and over their host was Elizur the son of Shedeur.

¹⁹ And over the host of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, was Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.

²⁰ And over the host of the tribe of the children of Gad, was Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

²¹ And the sons of Kohath shall set forward bearing the holy things, and the others shall set up the tabernacle until they arrive.

²² And the order of the camp of Ephraim shall set forward with their forces; and over their forces was Elishama the son of Ammihud.

²³ And over the forces of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

²⁴ And over the forces of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, was Abidan the son of Gideoni.

¹¹ And it was in the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, that the Cloud was uplifted from above the Tabernacle of the Testimony,

¹² And the children of Israel went forward upon their journeys from the wilderness of Sinai; and the Cloud rested in the wilderness of Pharan.

¹³ And they went forward at the first by the Word of the Lord through Mosheh.

¹⁴ In the first place the standard of the camp of the Beni Jehudah went forward by their hosts; and over the host was Nachshon bar Aminadab.

¹⁵ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Issakar, Nethanel bar Zuar.

¹⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Zebulun, Eliab bar Chelon.

¹⁷ And the tabernacle was taken down, and the sons of Gershon went forward, and the sons of Merari, carrying the tabernacle.

¹⁸ And the standard (or order) of the camp of Reuben went forward by their hosts, and over its host was Elizur bar Shedeur:

¹⁹ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Shemeun was Shelumiel bar Zurishaddai.

²⁰ And over the host of the Beni Gad was Eljasaph bar Dehuel.

²¹ And the sons of Kehath went forward, carrying the sanctuary, and (the Gershonites and sons of Merari) set up the tabernacle against they came.

²² And the standard of the camps of the Beni-Ephraim went forward by their hosts, and over his host was Elishama bar Amihud.

²³ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Menasheh was Gamliel bar Phedazur.

²⁴ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Benyamin, Abidan bar Gideoni.

²⁵ And the standard of the camps of the Beni Dan went forward collecting each camp according to their hosts; and over his host was Achiezer bar Amishaddai.

²⁶ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Asher, Phagiel bar Akran;

²⁷ And over the host of the tribe of the Beni Naphtali, Achira bar Enan.

²⁸ These are the journeys of the sons of Israel, and according to their hosts they went forward.

²⁹ And Mosheh said unto Hobab bar Reuel, the Midianite, the father-in-law of Mosheh, We are journeying to the place of which the Lord hath said, I will give it unto you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good; for the Lord hath spoken, to bring good upon Israel.

³⁰ But he said to him, I will not go (with you), but to my country and to my kindred will I go.

³¹ And he said, Leave us not, I beseech thee; for thou knowest how we should encamp in the wilderness; and the great things that will be done for us thou wilt see with thine eyes.

¹¹ In the second year, in the second month, on the twentieth day of the month, the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle of the testimony.

¹² The children of Israel God prevails went forward according to their journeys out of the wilderness of Sinai Thorn; and the cloud stayed in the wilderness of Paran.

¹³ They first went forward according to the order of Adonai through Moses Drawn out.

¹⁴ First, the standard of the camp of the children of Judah Praised went forward according to their armies. Nahshon the son of Amminadab was over his army.

¹⁵ Nethanel the son of Zuar was over the army of the tribe of the children of Issachar Hire, Reward.

¹⁶ Eliab the son of Helon was over the army of the tribe of the children of Zebulun Living together.

¹⁷ The tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari, who bore the tabernacle, went forward.

¹⁸ The standard of the camp of Reuben See, a son! went forward according to their armies. Elizur the son of Shedeur was over his army.
