Numbers 10:1-6 in English

¹ And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

² Make thee two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shalt thou make them: and thou shalt use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.

³ And when they shall blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves unto thee at the door of the tent of meeting.

⁴ And if they blow but one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

⁵ And when ye blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.

⁶ And when ye blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

² Make to thyself two silver trumpets: thou shalt make them of beaten work; and they shall be to thee for the purpose of calling the assembly, and of removing the camps.

³ And thou shalt sound with them, and all the congregation shall be gathered to the door of the tabernacle of witness.

⁴ And if they shall sound with one, all the rulers even the princes of Israel shall come to thee.

⁵ And ye shall sound an alarm, and the camps pitched eastward shall begin to move.

⁶ And ye shall sound a second alarm, and the camps pitched southward shall move; and ye shall sound a third alarm, and the camps pitched westward shall move forward; and ye shall sound a fourth alarm, and they that encamp toward the north shall move forward: they shall sound an alarm at their departure.

³ And when they shall blow with them, all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

⁶ When ye blow an alarm the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall take their journey: they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

¹ Yahweh also told Moses/me,

² “ Tell someone to make two trumpets by hammering each one from one lump of silver. Blow the trumpets to summon the people to come together and also to signal that they must move their tents to a new location.

³ If both trumpets are blown, it means that everyone must gather together at the entrance of the Sacred Tent.

⁴ If only one trumpet is blown, it means that only the twelve leaders of the tribes must gather together.

⁵ If the trumpets are blown loudly, the tribes that are to the east of the Sacred Tent should start to travel.

⁶ When the trumpets are blown loudly the second time, the tribes that are to the south should start to travel. The loud blasts on the trumpet will signal that they should start to travel.

¹ And the Lord said to Moses,

² Make two silver horns of hammered work, to be used for getting the people together and to give the sign for the moving of the tents.

³ When they are sounded, all the people are to come together to you at the door of the Tent of meeting.

⁴ If only one of them is sounded, then the chiefs, the heads of the thousands of Israel, are to come to you.

⁵ When a loud note is sounded, the tents placed on the east side are to go forward.

⁶ At the sound of a second loud note, the tents on the south side are to go forward: the loud note will be the sign to go forward.

³ And when they shall blow with them, the whole assembly shall gather to thee at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

⁴ And if they blow with one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather unto thee.

⁵ And when ye blow an alarm, the camps that lie eastward shall set forward.

⁶ And when ye blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie southward shall set forward; they shall blow an alarm on their setting forward.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

² Make thee two trumpets of beaten silver, wherewith thou mayest call together the multitude when the camp is to be removed.

³ And when thou shalt sound the trumpets, all the multitude shall gather unto thee to the door of the tabernacle of the covenant.

⁴ If thou sound but once, the princes and the heads of the multitude of Israel shall come to thee.

⁵ But if the sound of the trumpets be longer, and with interruptions, they that are on the east side, shall first go forward.

⁶ And at the second sounding and like noise of the trumpet, they who lie on the south side shall take up their tents. And after this manner shall the rest do, when the trumpets shall sound for a march.

¹ The Lord told Moses,

² “Make two trumpets out of hammered silver. They are to be used for summoning the Israelites and to have the camp move out.

³ When both trumpets are blown, all the Israelites are to gather before you at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

⁴ But if only one is blown, then only the tribal leaders are to gather before you.

⁵ When you blow the trumpet loudly, which is the alarm signal to move out, the camps on the east side are to march out first.

⁶ When you blow the trumpet loudly the second time, the camps on the south side are to march out. That's their signal to start moving.

¹ And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

² Make thee two trumpets of siluer: of an whole piece shalt thou make the, that thou mayest vse them for the assembling of the Congregation, and for the departure of the campe.

³ And when they shall blowe with them, all the Congregation shall assemble to thee before the doore of the Tabernacle of the Cogregation.

⁴ But if they blowe with one, then the princes, or heades ouer the thousandes of Israel shall come vnto thee.

⁵ But if ye blow an alarme, then the campe of the that pitch on the East part, shall go forward.

⁶ If ye blowe an alarme the second time, then the hoste of them that lie on the Southside shall march: for they shall blowe an alarme when they remoue.

² 'Make thee two trumpets of silver; of beaten work shalt thou make them; and they shall be unto thee for the calling of the congregation, and for causing the camps to set forward.

³ And when they shall blow with them, all the congregation shall gather themselves unto thee at the door of the tent of meeting.

⁴ And if they blow but with one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel, shall gather themselves unto thee.

⁵ And when ye blow an alarm, the camps that lie on the east side shall take their journey.

⁶ And when ye blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall set forward; they shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

³ And when they shall blow with both, all the congregation shall assemble themselves unto thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

⁴ And if they blow with but one, then shall assemble themselves unto thee the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel.

⁵ And when ye blow an alarm, then shall set forward the camps that encamp on the east side.

⁶ And when ye blow an alarm the second time, then shall set forward the camps that encamp on the south side: an alarm shall they blow for their setting forward.

¹ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

² Make thee two trumpets of silver, beaten shalt thou make them, and they shall be for thee to convoke the assembly, and to move forward the host.

³ And they shall blow with them, and bring all the congregation together unto thee, at the door of the tabernacle of ordinance.

⁴ And if they blow with but one, the chiefs, the heads of thousands of Israel, shall gather together to thee.

⁵ When you blow with a full note, (or alarm,) the host that encampeth eastward shall go forward,

⁶ and when you blow with the second alarm, the hosts that encamp southward shall go on; an alarm shall they blow for their journeys.

¹ Adonai spoke to Moses Drawn out, saying,

² “Make two trumpets of silver. You shall make them of beaten work. You shall use them for the calling of the congregation, and for the journeying of the camps.

³ When they blow them, all the congregation shall gather themselves to you at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

⁴ If they blow just one, then the princes, the heads of the thousands of Israel God prevails, shall gather themselves to you.

⁶ When you blow an alarm the second time, the camps that lie on the south side shall go forward. They shall blow an alarm for their journeys.

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses. He said,

² “Make two silver trumpets. Hammer the silver to make them. You must use the trumpets to call the community together and to call the community to move their camps.

³ The priests must blow the trumpets to call all the community together in front of you at the entrance to the tent of meeting.

⁴ If the priests blow only one trumpet, then the leaders, the heads of the clans of Israel, must gather to you.

⁵ When you blow a loud signal, the camps on the east side must begin their journey.

⁶ When you blow a loud signal the second time, the camps on the south side must begin their journey. They must blow a loud signal for their journeys.

⁴ If thou shalt trump with one trump, the princes and the chief men of the multitude of Israel shall come to thee;

⁵ but if a longer, and a parted trumping of two trumps shall sound, they that be at the east coast shall move their tents first.

⁶ Forsooth in the second sounding, and in like noise of the trump, they that dwell at the south coast shall raze their tents; and by this manner, other men shall do, when the trumps shall sound into going forth.

¹ And the Lord spake to Moses, and said,

² Make to thee two silver trumps (or Make for thyself two silver trumpets), beaten out with hammers, by which thou mayest call together the multitude, when the tents shall be moved.

³ And when thou shalt sound with trumps, all the company shall be gathered to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the bond of peace. (And when thou shalt sound with the trumpets, all the multitude shall be gathered to thee at the entrance to the Tabernacle of the Covenant.)

⁴ If thou shalt trump with one trump, the princes and the chief men of the multitude of Israel shall come to thee; (If thou shalt sound with one trumpet, the leaders who be the chief men of the multitude of Israel shall come to thee;)

⁵ but if a longer, and a parted trumping of two trumps shall sound, they that be at the east coast shall move their tents first (or then they who be on the east side shall move their tents first).

⁶ Forsooth in the second sounding, and in like noise of the trump, they that dwell at the south coast shall raze their tents (or they who live on the south side shall take down their tents); and by this manner, (the) other men shall (also) do (so), when the trumps shall sound into going forth.

¹ And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide,

² Make to thee twei siluerne trumpis betun out with hameris, bi whiche thou maist clepe togidere the multitude, whanne the tentis schulen be moued.

³ And whanne thou schalt sowne with trumpis, al the cumpeny schal be gaderid to thee at the dore of the tabernacle of the boond of pees.

⁴ If thou schalt sowne onys, the princes and the heedis of the multitude of Israel schulen come to thee;

⁵ but if a lengere and departid trumpyng schal sowne, thei that ben at the eest coost schulen moue tentis first.

⁶ Forsothe in the secounde sown and lijk noise of the trumpe thei that dwellen at the south schulen reise tentis; and bi this maner othere men schulen do, whanne the trumpis schulen sowne in to goyng forth.

³ and they have blown with them, and all the company have met together unto thee, unto the opening of the tent of meeting.

⁴ And if with one they blow, then have the princes, heads of the thousands of Israel, met together unto thee;

⁵ 'And ye have blown — a shout, and the camps which are encamping eastward have journeyed.

⁶ 'And ye have blown — a second shout, and the camps which are encamping southward have journeyed; a shout they blow for their journeys.
