¹⁹ And he answereth them and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him unto me.

²⁰ And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him grievously; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming.

²¹ And he asked his father, How long time is it since this hath come unto him? And he said, From a child.

²² And oft-times it hath cast him both into the fire and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.

²³ And Jesus said unto him, If thou canst! All things are possible to him that believeth.

²⁴ Straightway the father of the child cried out, and said, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

²⁵ And when Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

²⁶ And having cried out, and torn him much, he came out: and the boy became as one dead; insomuch that the more part said, He is dead.

²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.

²⁸ And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, How is it that we could not cast it out?

²⁹ And he said unto them, This kind can come out by nothing, save by prayer.

³⁰ And they went forth from thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.

³¹ For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered up into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and when he is killed, after three days he shall rise again.

³² But they understood not the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³³ And they came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house he asked them, What were ye reasoning on the way?

³⁴ But they held their peace: for they had disputed one with another on the way, who was the greatest.

³⁵ And he sat down, and called the twelve; and he saith unto them, If any man would be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.

³⁶ And he took a little child, and set him in the midst of them: and taking him in his arms, he said unto them,

³⁷ Whosoever shall receive one of such little children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever receiveth me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

³⁸ John said unto him, Teacher, we saw one casting out demons in thy name; and we forbade him, because he followed not us.

³⁹ But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man who shall do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ For he that is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink, because ye are Christ’s, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

²⁵ When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

²⁶ And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, He is dead.

²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

²⁸ And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?

²⁹ And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

³⁰ And they departed thence, and passed through Galilee; and he would not that any man should know it.

³¹ For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the third day.

³² But they understood not that saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³³ And he came to Capernaum: and being in the house he asked them, What was it that ye disputed among yourselves by the way?

³⁴ But they held their peace: for by the way they had disputed among themselves, who should be the greatest.

³⁵ And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith unto them, If any man desire to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.

³⁶ And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them,

¹⁹ Jesus replied by saying to those people, “◄I am very disappointed that although you have observed how I help people, you do not believe that you are able to do anything!/Why is it that although you have observed how I help people, you do not believe that you are able to do anything?► RHQ ◄I have been with you a long time, and you still cannot do what I do!/How long do I have to be with you before you can do what I do?► RHQ Bring the boy to me!”

²⁰ So they brought the boy to Jesus. As soon as the evil spirit saw Jesus, it shook the boy severely, and the boy fell on the ground. He rolled around, and he foamed at the mouth.

²¹ Jesus asked the boy's father, “How long has he been like this?” He replied, “ This started to happen when he was a child.

²² The spirit does not only do this, but he also often throws him into the fire or into the water in order to kill him. But, pity us and help us, if you can!”

²³ Jesus exclaimed to him, “ Do not say RHQ ‘If you can’, for God/I can do anything for people who believe in him/me!”

²⁴ Immediately the child's father shouted, “I believe that you can help me, but I do not believe strongly. Help me to believe more strongly!”

²⁵ Because Jesus wanted to heal the boy before the crowd got bigger, he rebuked the evil spirit, saying, “You evil spirit, you who are causing this boy to be deaf and unable to talk! I command you to come out of him and never enter him again!”

²⁶ The evil spirit shouted, it shook the boy violently, and then it left the boy. The boy did not move. He seemed like a dead body. So many of the people there said, “He is dead!”

²⁷ However, Jesus took him by the hand and helped him get up. Then the boy stood up. He was healed!

²⁸ Later, when Jesus and his disciples were alone in a house, one of them asked him, “Why were we not able to expel the evil spirit?”

²⁹ He said to them, “You can expel this kind of evil spirit only by your praying that God will give you the power to do it. There is no other way that you can expel them.”

³⁰ After Jesus and his disciples left that district , they traveled through Galilee district . Jesus did not want anyone else to know that he was in their area ; he did not want

³¹ anyone to interrupt him as he taught his disciples. He was telling them, “ Some day my enemies SYN will seize MTY me, the one who came from heaven, and I will be handed over to other men. Those men will kill me. But on the third day after I am killed {after they kill me}, I will become alive again!”

³² But they did not understand what he was telling them. Also, they were afraid to ask him about what he had said.

³³ Jesus and his disciples returned to Capernaum town. When they were in the house, he asked them, “What were you discussing while we were traveling on the road?”

³⁴ But they did not reply. They were ashamed to reply because, while they were traveling, they had been arguing with each other about which one of them would be the most important when Jesus became king.

³⁵ He sat down, he summoned the twelve disciples to come close to him, and then he said to them, “If anyone wants God to consider him to be the most important person of all, he must consider himself to be the least important person of all, and he must serve everyone else.”

³⁶ Then he took a child and placed him among them. He took the child in his arms and then he said to them,

³⁷ “Those who, because they love me, welcome a child like this one, God considers that they are welcoming me. So it is as though they are also welcoming God, who sent me.”

³⁸ John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone who was expelling demons, ◄ claiming he had authority from you to do that/while telling people that you have told him to do it►. So we told him to stop doing it because he was not one of us disciples.”

³⁹ Jesus said, “Do not tell him not to do that! For no one will speak evilly about me just after he performs a miracle while saying that I have told him to do it.

⁴⁰ Furthermore, those who are not opposing us are trying to achieve the same goals that we are.

⁴¹ Also think about this: Those who belong to me who help you in any way, even if they just give you a cup of water to drink because you follow me, the Messiah, will certainly be rewarded by God!”

¹⁹ He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

²⁰ They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.

²¹ He asked his father, “How long has it been since this has been happening to him?” He said, “From childhood.

²² Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us and help us.”

²³ Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

²⁴ Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

²⁵ When Jesus saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”

²⁶ After crying out and convulsing him greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead, so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”

²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him up; and he arose.

²⁸ When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

²⁹ He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but by prayer and fasting.”

³⁰ They went out from there and passed through Galilee. He didn’t want anyone to know it,

³¹ for he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”

³² But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³³ He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”

³⁴ But they were silent, for they had disputed with one another on the way about who was the greatest.

³⁵ He sat down and called the twelve; and he said to them, “If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”

³⁶ He took a little child and set him in the middle of them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them,

¹⁹ And he said to them in answer, O generation without faith, how long will I have to be with you? how long will I put up with you? let him come to me.

²⁰ And they took him to him: and when he saw him, the spirit in him straight away became violent; and he went down on the earth, rolling about and streaming at the lips.

²¹ And Jesus questioning the father said, How long has he been like this? And he said, From a child.

²² And frequently it has sent him into the fire and into the water, for his destruction; but if you are able to do anything, have pity on us, and give us help.

²³ And Jesus said to him, If you are able! All things are possible to him who has faith.

²⁴ Straight away the father of the child gave a cry, saying, I have faith; make my feeble faith stronger.

²⁵ And when Jesus saw that the people came running together, he gave orders to the unclean spirit, saying to him, You, spirit, who are the cause of his loss of voice and hearing, I say to you, come out of him, and never again go into him.

²⁶ And after crying out and shaking him violently, it came out: and the child became like one dead; so that most of them said, He is dead.

²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand, lifting him up; and he got up.

²⁸ And when he had gone into the house, his disciples said to him privately, Why were we unable to send it out?

²⁹ And he said to them, Nothing will make this sort come out but prayer.

³⁰ And they went out from there, through Galilee; and it was his desire that no man might have knowledge of it;

³¹ For he was giving his disciples teaching, and saying to them, The Son of man is given up into the hands of men, and they will put him to death; and when he is dead, after three days he will come back from the dead.

³² But the saying was not clear to them, and they were in fear of questioning him about it.

³³ And they came to Capernaum: and when he was in the house, he put the question to them, What were you talking about on the way?

³⁴ But they said nothing: because they had had an argument between themselves on the way, about who was the greatest.

³⁵ And seating himself, he made the twelve come to him; and he said to them, If any man has the desire to be first, he will be last of all and servant of all.

³⁶ And he took a little child, and put him in the middle of them; and taking him in his arms, he said to them,

³⁷ Whoever will give honour to one such little child in my name, gives honour to me: and whoever gives honour to me, gives honour not to me, but to him who sent me.

³⁸ John said to him, Master, we saw one driving out evil spirits in your name: and we said that he might not, because he is not one of us.

³⁹ But Jesus said, Say not so: for there is no man who will do a great work in my name, and be able at the same time to say evil of me.

⁴⁰ He who is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ Whoever gives you a cup of water, because you are Christ's, truly I say to you, he will in no way be without his reward.

¹⁹ But he answering them says, O unbelieving generation! how long shall I be with you? how long shall I bear with you? bring him to me.

²⁰ And they brought him to him. And seeing him the spirit immediately tore him; and falling upon the earth he rolled foaming.

²¹ And he asked his father, How long a time is it that it has been like this with him? And he said, From childhood;

²² and often it has cast him both into fire and into waters that it might destroy him: but if thou couldst do anything, be moved with pity on us, and help us.

²³ And Jesus said to him, The 'if thou couldst' is if thou couldst believe: all things are possible to him that believes.

²⁴ And immediately the father of the young child crying out said with tears, I believe, help mine unbelief.

²⁵ But Jesus, seeing that the crowd was running up together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I command thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

²⁶ And having cried out and torn him much, he came out; and he became as if dead, so that the most said, He is dead.

²⁷ But Jesus, having taken hold of him by the hand, lifted him up, and he arose.

²⁸ And when he was entered into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Wherefore could not we cast him out?

²⁹ And he said to them, This kind can go out by nothing but by prayer and fasting.

³⁰ And going forth from thence they went through Galilee; and he would not that any one knew it;

³⁹ But Jesus said, Forbid him not; for there is no one who shall do a miracle in my name, and be able soon after to speak ill of me;

⁴⁰ for he who is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye are Christ's, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

¹⁹ And they brought him. And when he had seen him, immediately the spirit troubled him; and being thrown down upon the ground, he rolled about foaming.

²⁰ And he asked his father: How long time is it since this hath happened unto him? But he said: From his infancy:

²¹ And oftentimes hath he cast him into the fire and into waters to destroy him. But if thou canst do any thing, help us, having compassion on us.

²² And Jesus saith to him: If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

²³ And immediately the father of the boy crying out, with tears said: I do believe, Lord: help my unbelief.

²⁴ And when Jesus saw the multitude running together, he threatened the unclean spirit, saying to him: Deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, go out of him; and enter not any more into him.

²⁵ And crying out, and greatly tearing him, he went out of him, and he became as dead, so that many said: He is dead.

²⁶ But Jesus taking him by the hand, lifted him up; and he arose.

²⁷ And when he was come into the house, his disciples secretly asked him: Why could not we cast him out?

²⁸ And he said to them: This kind can go out by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

²⁹ And departing from thence, they passed through Galilee, and he would not that any man should know it.

³⁰ And he taught his disciple, and said to them: The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise again the third day.

³¹ But they understood not the word, and they were afraid to ask him.

³² And they came to Capharnaum. And when they were in the house, he asked them: What did you treat of in the way?

³³ But they held their peace, for in the way they had disputed among themselves, which of them should be the greatest.

³⁴ And sitting down, he called the twelve, and saith to them: If any man desire to be first, he shall be the last of all, and the minister of all.

³⁵ And taking a child, he set him in the midst of them. Whom when he had embraced, he saith to them:

³⁶ Whosoever shall receive one such child as this in my name, receiveth me. And whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

³⁷ John answered him, saying: Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, who followeth not us, and we forbade him.

³⁸ But Jesus said: Do not forbid him. For there is no man that doth a miracle in my name, and can soon speak ill of me.

³⁹ For he that is not against you, is for you.

⁴⁰ For whosoever shall give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because you belong to Christ: amen I say to you, he shall not lose his reward.

⁴¹ And whosoever shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me; it were better for him that a millstone were hanged around his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

¹⁹ He answered him and said, “O unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me.”

²⁰ Then they brought the boy to Him. And when he saw Him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and having fallen on the ground he was rolling about, foaming at the mouth.

²¹ So He asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.

²² And often it threw him both into the fire and into the waters so that it may destroy him. But if You are able to do anything, help us and have compassion on us.”

²³ Jesus said to him, “If you are able to believe: all things are possible to him that believes.”

²⁴ And immediately crying out, the father of the child said with tears, “I believe, Lord; help my unbelief!”

²⁵ When Jesus saw that a crowd was running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!”

²⁶ Then having cried out and having convulsed him greatly, it came out. And he became as one dead, so that many were saying, “He is dead.”

²⁷ But Jesus, having grasped him by the hand, lifted him up, and he arose.

²⁸ And after He entered into a house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why were we not able to cast it out?”

²⁹ So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

³⁰ And having gone out from there they were passing through Galilee, and He did not wish that anyone should know.

³¹ For He was teaching His disciples and said to them, “The Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And after He is killed, He will rise on the third day.”

³² But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.

³³ Then He came to Capernaum. And being in the house He asked them, “What were you disputing about with one another on the road?”

³⁴ But they were silent, for on the road they had discussed with one another who was the greatest.

³⁵ And having sat down He called the twelve, and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all.”

³⁶ And taking a child, He stood him in their midst. And taking him in His arms, He said to them,

³⁷ “Whoever receives one of these little children in My name receives Me; and whoever receives Me, receives not Me, but Him who sent Me.”

³⁸ Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow with us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.”

²³ Jesus said to him, “It's ‘if you can believe’; all things are possible to the one who believes.”

²⁴ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

²⁵ When Jesus saw that the crowd was running up, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You mute and deaf spirit, I am commanding you, get out of him and never enter him again!”

²⁶ Then it yelled, convulsed him violently, and came out. Well he looked to be dead; so much so that many said, “He's dead.”

²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he stayed on his feet.

²⁸ Well upon His entering a house His disciples asked Him privately, “Why couldn't we cast it out?”

²⁹ He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing except prayer and fasting.”

³⁰ Having gone out from there they were passing through Galilee, and He did not want anyone to know;

³¹ because He was teaching His disciples and saying to them, “The Son of the Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill him; and once killed he will rise on the third day.”

³² But they were not understanding this information, yet were afraid to ask Him.

³³ Then He came to Capernaum; and once in the house He asked them, “What were you debating among yourselves on the road?”

³⁴ But they kept silent, because on the road they had debated among themselves who was greater.

³⁵ So He sat down, called the twelve and said to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he must be last of all and servant of all.”

³⁶ Then He took a child and stood him in their midst, and embracing him said to them,

³⁷ “Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives not only me, but the One who sent me.”

³⁸ So John answered Him saying, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, one who doesn't follow us; and we forbade him, because he doesn't follow us.”

³⁹ But Jesus said: “Do not forbid him, because no one who works a miracle in my name can soon afterward speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ For he who is not against you is for you.

¹⁹ “You unbelieving people!” Jesus responded. “How long must I remain here with you? How long do I have to put up with you? Bring him over here to me!”

²⁰ So they brought him to Jesus. When the evil spirit saw Jesus it immediately sent the boy into convulsions and threw him on the ground, where he rolled around, foaming at the mouth.

²¹ “How long has he had this?” Jesus asked the boy's father. “Since he was small,” the father replied.

²² “Often it throws him into the fire to burn him to death, or throws him into water to drown him. Please have mercy on us and help, if you can.”

²³ “Why do you say, ‘if you can?’” replied Jesus. “Whoever trusts has every power!”

²⁴ “I do trust in you,” the man shouted out right away. “Help me not to distrust you.”

²⁵ Jesus, seeing that the crowd was closing in, commanded the evil spirit, “Spirit that causes deafness and dumbness, I order you to come out of him and never return.”

²⁶ The spirit screamed and threw the boy into severe convulsions. Then the spirit came out of the boy and left him for dead—to the extent that many of the people said, “He's dead.”

²⁷ But Jesus took the boy by the hand and helped him up, and he got to his feet.

²⁸ Later, when Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him in private, “Why couldn't we drive the evil spirit out?”

²⁹ “This kind can't be driven out except by prayer,” Jesus told them.

³⁰ They left and passed through Galilee. Jesus didn't want anyone to know where he was

³¹ because he was teaching his disciples. “The Son of man will be betrayed to human authorities,” he told them. “They will kill him, but three days later he will rise again.”

³² They didn't understand what he meant and were too afraid to ask him about it.

³³ They arrived at Capernaum, and once they were inside the house where they were staying, Jesus asked them, “What were you talking about on the way?”

³⁴ But they didn't say anything because they had been arguing over who was the most important.

³⁵ Jesus sat down and called the twelve disciples together. “If anyone wants to be first, he has to be the very last, the servant of everyone else,” he told them.

³⁶ He took a small child and had the child stand right in the middle of them. Then he picked up and hugged the child, and told them,

³⁷ “Whoever welcomes a child like this in my name, welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me doesn't welcome me but the one who sent me.”

³⁸ John said to Jesus, “Rabbi, we saw someone driving out demons in your name. We tried to stop him because he wasn't one of us.”

³⁹ “Don't stop him,” Jesus replied. “For no one who is doing miracles in my name can curse me at the same time.

⁴⁰ Anyone who is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ Anyone who gives a cup of water to you in my name, because you belong to Christ, won't lose their reward, believe me.

¹⁹ Then he answered him, and said, O faithlesse generation, how long now shall I be with you! how long now shall I suffer you! Bring him vnto me.

²⁰ So they brought him vnto him: and assoone as the spirit sawe him, hee tare him, and hee fell downe on the ground walowing and foming.

²¹ Then he asked his father, How long time is it since he hath bin thus? And he said, Of a childe.

²² And oft times he casteth him into the fire, and into the water to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, helpe vs, and haue compassion vpon vs.

²³ And Iesus said vnto him, If thou canst beleeue it, al things are possible to him that beleeueth.

²⁴ And straightway the father of the childe crying with teares, saide, Lord, I beleeue: helpe my vnbeliefe.

²⁵ When Iesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the vncleane spirit, saying vnto him, Thou domme and deafe spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

²⁶ Then the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out, and he was as one dead, in so much that many said, He is dead.

²⁷ But Iesus tooke his hande, and lift him vp, and he arose.

²⁸ And when hee was come into the house, his disciples asked him secretly, Why could not we cast him out?

²⁹ And he saide vnto them, This kinde can by no other meanes come foorth, but by prayer and fasting.

³⁷ Whosoeuer shall receiue one of such litle children in my Name, receiueth me: and whosoeuer receiueth mee, receiueth not me, but him that sent me.

³⁸ Then Iohn answered him, saying, Master, we sawe one casting out deuils by thy Name, which followeth not vs, and we forbade him, because he followeth vs not.

¹⁹ Then Jesus said to his men, “You truly have not believed in God. How is it? You are still unbelievers. How long shall I be with you? Shall I teach you for a long time? After that will you believe in God? Bring the child to me.”

²⁰ They brought him to him. As soon as he saw Jesus the spirit grabbed that child, it made him thrash around. At that time the child fell on the ground, trembling he was rolling from side to side. Saliva was coming from his mouth.

²¹ Jesus asked his father, “When did he become like this?” He said to him, “When he was a child.

²² Many times the spirit has thrown him in the fire or in the water, it has been trying to kill him. Have pity on us. Perhaps you will make him well.”

²³ Jesus replied, “Yes, I know how to heal him. Why did you say that word to me, 'Perhaps you will make him well.'? You must believe in God. Then you can ask God for anything. For that particular thing he knows how to do it. It is not a puzzle for God.” Right then the man called out loudly, “I believe in God. Teach me to believe properly!”

²⁵ Jesus saw many people gathering together. Therefore he said sternly to the evil spirit, “You bad spirit, you made this child deaf, you made him unable to speak. Leave. Go away. Do not again control him.”

²⁶ The spirit called out, it was making the child thrash around, it was very bad. Then it left, it went away permanently. That child was like a corpse. Many were saying, “He is truly dead.”

²⁷ Jesus raised him up by the hand. After that the child stood up. He was well.

²⁸ After Jesus entered the house his men asked him, “Why couldn't we expel that spirit?” In vain we tried to send it away.”

²⁹ Jesus replied, “Only after praying to God will you expel a demon like that.”

³⁰ Jesus and his men left that place, they were going around the country of Galilee. He wanted the people of the area not to recognise him. He was wanting to teach his men about himself, others would kill him. He was telling them, “You know about me, God sent me to people. Some people have been saying God did not send me. They want to kill me. Truly they will grab me, they will take me to other people. Those others will truly kill me. After that, after two nights, truly I will become alive again.” In that way Jesus talked to his men.

³² His men were very ignorant about that talk. They did not want to ask him in response, they were shy.

³³ They went to that town Capernaum. After his men had entered the house Jesus asked them, “As we were coming why were you arguing with each other?”

³⁴ They stayed silent. They didn't answer him. As they were going along they were arguing with each other. In this way they were saying to each other, “Who among us will be boss for us all?”

³⁵ After sitting down Jesus called them to him. He said to them, “Maybe you want to be boss, make yourself small, do good to everyone.”

³⁶ After that he called a child, after leading him he stood him in front of them. After hugging him he said to them,

³⁷ “Maybe you will do good to someone like this child to please me. That good thing you did for the child, that same good thing you also did to me. God sent me. Because of that when you do good to me you will make me happy, you will make God happy also.”

³⁸ John told Jesus, “Teacher, we saw a man, he was expelling demons from people in your name. That man does not belong to our mob. After that we told him not to do like that.”

³⁹ Jesus replied, “Don't prevent him. Truly those who have done a good big thing in my name will not on another day say something bad about me to others.

⁴⁰ Those who are not criticisers of us, they are (our) defenders.

⁴¹ I tell you this word truly, others who learn about you that you belong to me, and because of that will do a small good thing to you, truly in response God will do good to them.”

³⁹ “None of you must prevent the man,” answered Jesus, “for no one will use my name in working a miracle, and yet find it easy to speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ He who is not against us is for us.

³³ They came to Capernaum. When Jesus had gone into the house, he asked them, “What were you discussing on the way?”

³⁴ But they were silent; for on the way they had been arguing with one another which was the greatest.

³⁵ Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wishes to be first, he must be last of all, and servant of all.”

³⁶ Then Jesus took a little child, and placed it in the middle of them. Taking it in his arms, he said to them,

³⁷ “Anyone who, for the sake of my name, welcomes even a little child like this is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming not me, but him who sent me as his messenger.”

³⁸ “Teacher,” said John, “we saw a man driving out demons by using your name, and we tried to prevent him, because he did not follow us.”

³⁹ “None of you must prevent the man,” answered Jesus, “for no one will use my name in working a miracle, and yet find it easy to speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ He who is not against us is for us.

⁴¹ If anyone gives you a cup of water because you belong to Christ, I tell you, he will assuredly not lose his reward.

¹⁹ He answered him, “Unbelieving generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him to me.”

²⁰ They brought him to him, and when he saw him, immediately the spirit convulsed him, and he fell on the ground, wallowing and foaming at the mouth.

²¹ He asked 'Aviv his father, “How long has it been since this has come to him?” He said, “From childhood.

²² Often it has cast him both into the fire and into the water, to destroy him. But if you can do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.”

²³ Yeshua Salvation said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

²⁴ Immediately the Abba father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!”

²⁵ When Yeshua Salvation saw that a multitude came running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to him, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter him again!”

²⁶ Having cried out, and convulsed greatly, it came out of him. The boy became like one dead; so much that most of them said, “He is dead.”

²⁷ But Yeshua Salvation took him by the hand, and raised him up; and he arose.

²⁸ When he had come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

²⁹ He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing, except by prayer and fasting.”

³⁰ They went out from there, and passed through Galilee District, Circuit. He didn’t want anyone to know it.

³¹ For he was teaching his disciples, and said to them, “The Son of Man is being handed over to the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, on the third day he will rise again.”

³² But they didn’t understand the saying, and were afraid to ask him.

³³ He came to Capernaum Village-Comfort, Village-Compassion, and when he was in the house he asked them, “What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”

³⁸ John Yah is gracious said to him, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in your name; and we forbade him, because he does not follow us.”

³⁹ But Yeshua Salvation said, “Don’t forbid him, for there is no one who will do a mighty work in my name, and be able quickly to speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ For whoever is not against us is on our side.

⁴¹ For whoever will give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you are Messiah Anointed one’s, most certainly I tell you, he will in no way lose his reward.

¹⁹ Jesus said, “How come you mob that are alive today can’t believe? Do I have to always stay here and do everything for you? Bring the boy here to me.”

²⁰ The people brought the boy to Jesus. As soon as that bad spirit saw Jesus it shook the boy and pushed him down so that he wriggled around on the ground, and a lot of spit came out of his mouth.

²¹ Jesus asked the boy’s father, “How long has your boy been like this?” The man said, “For a long time, from when he was little kid.

²² Lots of times the bad spirit pushes him into fires and into water. That bad spirit is trying to kill him. Please feel sorry for us and help him if you can.”

²³ Jesus said, “You said to me, ‘If you can.’ Don’t you know that God is strong enough to do anything if you trust him to do it?”

²⁴ That boy’s father yelled out, “I believe God can do it. But please help me believe more.”

²⁵ Jesus looked around and saw a big mob of people coming to watch, so he growled at the bad spirit. He said, “Hey. You bad spirit that stops people from talking and hearing, I’m telling you now, come out of this little boy, and stay out of him. You can never go back into him.”

²⁶ Then the bad spirit screamed and forced the boy to take another bad fit and fall down on the ground, then it went out of the boy. The boy looked like he was dead, and a lot of people said, “Poor boy, he is finished.”

²⁷ But Jesus just got hold of the boy’s hand and helped him stand up. Then his father took the boy home.

²⁸ After that Jesus and his followers went into a house, and his followers asked him quietly, “Why couldn’t we force that bad spirit out of the boy?”

²⁹ Jesus told them, “The only way you can force that kind of bad spirit out of anyone is to pray and get God to force it out.”

³⁰ Later Jesus and his followers left that place and went through Galilee country. As they walked along he was teaching his followers. He didn’t want everyone to know where he was going, so they went along secretly and quietly. He told them about what was going to happen to him. He said, “I’m God’s special man from heaven, but bad men will grab me, and they will kill me. But after 3 days I will come alive again.”

³² The followers of Jesus couldn’t understand what he was talking about, but they felt too ashamed to ask him any more questions.

³³ While they walked along the road Jesus’s followers argued with each other about which one of them was the most important. After they got to Capernaum they went into the house that they were going to camp in, and Jesus asked them what they were arguing about on the road. His followers were ashamed and said nothing.

³⁵ Jesus sat down and said, “If anyone wants to be the leader, that person has to think to himself, ‘I’m not important at all.’ And he has to be a workman for everybody else.”

³⁶ There was a young kid in that house and Jesus picked him up and said, “Look at this little kid. If you follow me and you are friendly to little kids like this one and you help them, well really, you are friendly to me too. And if you are friendly to me, well really, you are friendly to my Father in heaven too. He is the one that sent me here.”

³⁸ John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw a man using your power by saying your name to send bad spirits out of people. He’s not one of our mob, so we told him to stop.”

³⁹ But Jesus said, “No. Don’t stop him. If somebody uses my power by saying my name to do good and powerful things for people, he can’t soon turn around and say bad things about me.

⁴⁰ You see, if somebody is not trying to block us, well really, he is on our side.

⁴¹ And if somebody knows you are my follower, and so he tries to help you, even if he just gives you a drink of water, God will be sure to pay him with something good for that good thing he did.

¹⁹ He answered him and sayd: O generacion with out faith how longe shall I be with you? How longe shall I suffre you? Bringe him vnto me.

²⁰ And they brought him vnto him. And assone as the sprete sawe him he tare him. And he fell doune on the grounde walowinge and fomynge.

²¹ And he axed his father: how longe is it a goo sens this hath happened him? And he sayde of a chylde:

²² and ofte tymes casteth him into the fyre and also into the water to destroye him. But yf thou canste do eny thinge have mercy on vs and helpe vs.

²³ And Iesus sayde vnto him: ye yf thou couldest beleve all thinges are possible to him that belevith.

²⁴ And streygth waye the father of the chylde cryed with teares sayinge: Lorde I beleve helpe myne vnbelefe.

²⁵ When Iesus sawe that the people came runnynge togedder vnto him he rebuked the foule sprete sayinge vnto him: Thou domme and deffe sprete I charge the come out of him and entre no more into him.

²⁶ And the sprete cryed and rent him sore and came out: And he was as one that had bene deed in so moche that many sayde he is deed.

²⁷ But Iesus caught his honde and lyfte him vp: and he roose.

²⁸ And when he was come into the housse his disciples axed him secretly: why coulde not we caste him out?

²⁹ And he sayde vnto them: this kynde can by no nother meanes come forth but by prayer and fastynge.

³⁰ And they departed thens and toke their iorney thorow Galile and he wolde not that eny man shuld have knowen it.

³¹ For he taught his disciples and sayde vnto them: The sonne of man shalbe delyvered into the hondes of men and they shall kyll him and after that he is kylled he shall aryse agayne the thryd daye.

³² But they wiste not what that sayinge meat and were affrayed to axe him.

³³ And he came to Capernaum. And when he was come to housse he axed the: what was it that ye disputed bytwene you by the waye?

³⁴ And they helde their peace: for by the waye they reasoned amonge the selves who shuld be the chefest.

³⁷ Whosoever receave eny soche a chylde in my name receaveth me. And whosoever receaveth me receaveth not me but him that sent me.

³⁸ Iohn answered him sayinge: Master we sawe one castynge out devyls in thy name which foloweth not vs and we forbade him because he foloweth vs not.

³⁹ But Iesus sayde forbid him not. For ther is no man that shall do a miracle in my name that can lightlyge speake evyll of me.

⁴⁰ Whosoever is not agaynste you is on youre parte.

⁴¹ And whosoever shall geve you a cuppe of water to drinke for my names sake because ye belonge to Christe verely I saye vnto you he shall not loose his rewarde.

²² It has often thrown him into the fire or into the waters and tried to destroy him. If you are able to do anything, have pity on us and help us.”

²³ Jesus said to him, “'If you are able'? All things are possible for the one who believes.”

²⁴ Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe! Help my unbelief!”

²⁵ When Jesus saw the crowd running to them, he rebuked the unclean spirit and said, “You mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and never enter into him again.”

²⁶ It cried out and convulsed the boy greatly and then came out. The boy looked like one who was dead, so that many said, “He is dead.”

²⁷ But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and the boy stood up.

²⁸ When Jesus came into the house, his disciples asked him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?”

²⁹ He said to them, “This kind cannot be cast out except by prayer.”

³⁰ They went out from there and passed through Galilee. He did not want anyone to know where they were,

³¹ for he was teaching his disciples. He said to them, “The Son of Man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will put him to death. When he has been put to death, after three days he will rise again.”

³² But they did not understand this statement, and they were afraid to ask him.

²⁸ And when he had entered into an house, his disciples asked him privily, Why might not we cast him out?

²⁹ And he said to them, This kind in nothing may go out or This kind may not go out in anything, but in prayer and fasting.

³⁰ And they went from thence, and went forth into Galilee; and they would not, that any man knew, or and he would not, that any man know.

³¹ And he taught his disciples, and said to them, For man’s Son shall be betrayed into the hands of men, and they shall slay him, and he slain shall rise again on the third day.

³² And they knew not the word, and dreaded to ask him.

³³ And they came to Capernaum. And when they were in the house, he asked them, What treated ye in the way?

³⁴ And they were still; for they disputed among themselves in the way, who of them should be the greatest.

³⁵ And he sat, and called the twelve, and said to them, If any man will be the first among you, he shall be the last of all, and the minister or the servant of all.

³⁶ And he took a child, and set him in the middle or in the midst of them; and when he had embraced him, he said to them,

³⁷ Whoever receiveth one of such children in my name, he receiveth me; and whoever receiveth me, he receiveth not me alone, but him that sent me.

³⁸ John answered to him, and said, Master, we saw one casting out fiends in thy name, which pursueth not us, and we have forbidden him.

³⁹ And Jesus said, Do not ye forbid him; for there is no man that doeth virtue in my name, and may soon speak evil of me.

⁴⁰ He that is not against us, is for us.

⁴¹ And whoever giveth to you a cup of cold water to drink in my name, for ye be of Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his meed.

¹⁹ And he answered to them, and said, A! thou generation out of belief, or O! thou generation unbelieveful, (or O thou unbelieving, or unfaithful, generation!), how long shall I be among you, how long shall I suffer you? Bring ye him to me.

²⁰ And they brought him. And when he had seen him, anon the spirit troubled him (or at once the spirit troubled him); and he was thrown down to the ground, and wallowed, and foamed.

²¹ And he asked his father, How long is it, since this hath befallen to him? And he said, From childhood;

²² and oft he hath put him into the fire, and into water, to lose him (or to destroy him); but if thou mayest (do) anything, help us, and have mercy on us.

²³ And Jesus said to him, If thou mayest believe (or If thou can believe), all things be possible to a man that believeth.

²⁴ And anon (or And at once) the father of the child cried with tears, and said, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

²⁵ And when Jesus had seen the people running together, he menaced the unclean spirit (or he threatened the unclean spirit), and said to him, Thou deaf and dumb spirit, I command thee, go out from him, and enter no more into him.

²⁶ And he crying, and much wrenching him, went out from him; and he was made as dead, so that many said, that he was dead.

²⁷ And Jesus held his hand, and lifted him up; and he rose.

³⁹ And Jesus said, Do not ye forbid him; for there is no man that doeth virtue in my name, and may soon speak evil of me. (And Jesus said, Do not forbid him; for there is no one who doeth a work of power, or a miracle, in my name, and can soon after speak evil about me.)

⁴⁰ He that is not against us, is for us.

⁴¹ And whoever giveth to you (even) a cup of cold water to drink in my name, for ye be of Christ, truly I say to you, he shall not lose his meed. (And whoever giveth to you even just a cup of cold water to drink in my name, for ye belong to the Messiah, I tell you the truth, he shall not lose his reward.)

¹⁹ And thei brouyten hym. And whanne he had seyn him, anoon the spirit troublide him; and was throw doun to grounde, and walewide, and fomede.

²⁰ And he axide his fadir, Hou longe `is it, sith this `hath falle to hym? And he seide, Fro childhode;

²¹ and ofte he hath put hym in to fier, and in to watir, to leese hym; but if thou maiste ony thing, helpe vs, and haue merci on vs.

²² And Jhesus seide to hym, If thou maiste bileue, alle thingis ben possible to man that bileueth.

²³ And anoon the fadir of the child criede with teeris, and seide, Lord, Y bileue; Lord, helpe thou myn vnbileue.

²⁴ And whanne Jhesus hadde seyn the puple rennynge togidere, he manasside the vnclene spirit, and seide to hym, Thou deef and doumbe spirit, Y comaunde thee, go out fro hym, and entre no more in to hym.

²⁵ And he criynge, and myche to breidynge him, wente out fro hym; and he was maad as deed, so that many seiden, that he was deed.

²⁶ And Jhesus helde his hoond, and lifte hym vp; and he roos.

²⁷ And whanne he hadde entrid in to an hous, hise disciplis axiden hym priueli, Whi myyten not we caste hym out?

²⁸ And he seide to hem, This kynde in no thing may go out, but in preier and fastyng.

²⁹ And thei yeden fro thennus, and wente forth in to Galile; and thei wolden not, that ony man wiste.

³⁰ And he tauyte hise disciplis, and seide to hem, For mannus sone schal be bitrayed in to the hondis of men, and thei schulen sle hym, and he slayn schal ryse ayen on the thridde day.

³¹ And thei knewen not the word, and dredden to axe hym.

³² And thei camen to Cafarnaum. And whanne thei weren in the hous, he axide hem, What tretiden ye in the weie?

³³ And thei weren stille; for thei disputiden among hem in the weie, who of hem schulde be grettest.

³⁴ And he sat, and clepide the twelue, and seide to hem, If ony man wole be the firste among you, he schal be the laste of alle, and the mynyster of alle.

³⁵ And he took a child, and sette hym in the myddil of hem; and whanne he hadde biclippid hym, he seide to hem,

³⁶ Who euer resseyueth oon of such children in my name, he resseyueth me; and who euer resseyueth me, he resseyueth not me aloone, but hym that sente me.

³⁷ Joon answeride to hym, and seide, Maister, we sayn oon castynge out feendis in thi name, which sueth not vs, and we han forbodun hym.

³⁸ And Jhesus seide, Nyle ye forbede him; for ther is no man that doith vertu in my name, and may soone speke yuel of me.

³⁹ He that is not ayens vs, is for vs.

⁴⁰ And who euer yyueth you a cuppe of coold water to drynke in my name, for ye ben of Crist, treuli Y seie to you, he schal not leese his mede.

⁴¹ And who euer schal sclaundre oon of these litle that bileuen in me, it were betere to hym that a mylne stoon `of assis were don aboute his necke, and he were cast in to the see.

¹⁹ And he answering him, said, 'O generation unbelieving, till when shall I be with you? till when shall I suffer you? bring him unto me;'

²⁰ and they brought him unto him, and he having seen him, immediately the spirit tare him, and he, having fallen upon the earth, was wallowing — foaming.

²¹ And he questioned his father, 'How long time is it since this came to him?' and he said, 'From childhood,

²² and many times also it cast him into fire, and into water, that it might destroy him; but if thou art able to do anything, help us, having compassion on us.'

²³ And Jesus said to him, 'If thou art able to believe! all things are possible to the one that is believing;'

²⁴ and immediately the father of the child, having cried out, with tears said, 'I believe, sir; be helping mine unbelief.'

²⁵ Jesus having seen that a multitude doth run together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, 'Spirit — dumb and deaf — I charge thee, come forth out of him, and no more thou mayest enter into him;'

²⁶ and having cried, and rent him much, it came forth, and he became as dead, so that many said that he was dead,

²⁷ but Jesus, having taken him by the hand, lifted him up, and he arose.

²⁸ And he having come into the house, his disciples were questioning him by himself — 'Why were we not able to cast it forth?'

²⁹ And he said to them, 'This kind is able to come forth with nothing except with prayer and fasting.'

³⁰ And having gone forth thence, they were passing through Galilee, and he did not wish that any may know,

³¹ for he was teaching his disciples, and he said to them, 'The Son of Man is being delivered to the hands of men, and they shall kill him, and having been killed the third day he shall rise,'

³² but they were not understanding the saying, and they were afraid to question him.

³³ And he came to Capernaum, and being in the house, he was questioning them, 'What were ye reasoning in the way among yourselves?'

³⁴ and they were silent, for with one another they did reason in the way who is greater;

³⁵ and having sat down he called the twelve, and he saith to them, 'If any doth will to be first, he shall be last of all, and minister of all.'

³⁶ And having taken a child, he set him in the midst of them, and having taken him in his arms, said to them,

³⁷ 'Whoever may receive one of such children in my name, doth receive me, and whoever may receive me, doth not receive me, but Him who sent me.'

³⁸ And John did answer him, saying, 'Teacher, we saw a certain one in thy name casting out demons, who doth not follow us, and we forbade him, because he doth not follow us.'

³⁹ And Jesus said, 'Forbid him not, for there is no one who shall do a mighty work in my name, and shall be able readily to speak evil of me:

⁴⁰ for he who is not against us is for us;

⁴¹ for whoever may give you to drink a cup of water in my name, because ye are Christ's, verily I say to you, he may not lose his reward;
