⁹ And he said unto them, Full well do ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses said, Honor thy father and thy mother; and, He that speaketh evil of father or mother, let him die the death:

¹¹ but ye say, If a man shall say to his father or his mother, That wherewith thou mightest have been profited by me is Corban, that is to say, Given to God;

¹² ye no longer suffer him to do aught for his father or his mother;

¹³ making void the word of God by your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things ye do.

¹⁴ And he called to him the multitude again, and said unto them, Hear me all of you, and understand:

¹⁵ there is nothing from without the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

⁹ Jesus also said to them, “ You think IRO that you are clever in refusing to do what God commanded just so that you can obey your own traditions!

¹⁰ For example, our ancestor Moses wrote God's command, ‘Honor your fathers and your mothers’. He also wrote, ‘ The authorities must execute a person who speaks evil about his father or mother.’

¹¹ But you teach people that it is all right that people no longer must help their parents. You teach people that it is all right if people give their things to God instead of giving them to their parents. You allow them to say to their parents, ‘What I was going to give to you to provide for you, I have now promised to give to God. So I cannot any longer help you!’ As a result, you are actually telling people that they no longer have to help their parents!

¹³ And, by doing that, you disregard what God commanded! You teach your own traditions to others and tell them strongly that they should obey them And you do many other things like that.”

¹⁴ Then Jesus again summoned the crowd to come closer. Then he said to them figuratively, “All of you people listen to me! Try to understand DOU what I am about to tell you.

¹⁵ Nothing that people eat causes God to consider them to be unacceptable. On the contrary, it is that which comes from people's ◄inner beings/hearts► that causes God to reject them.”

⁹ He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’

¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban,”’” that is to say, given to God,

¹² “then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,

¹³ making void the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”

¹⁴ He called all the multitude to himself and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.

⁹ And he said to them, Truly you put on one side the law of God, so that you may keep the rules which have been handed down to you.

¹⁰ For Moses said, Give honour to your father and mother, and, He who says evil of father or mother, let him have the punishment of death:

¹¹ But you say, If a man says to his father or his mother, That by which you might have had profit from me is Corban, that is to say, Given to God,

¹² You no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother;

¹³ Making the word of God of no effect by your rule, which you have given: and a number of other such things you do.

¹⁴ And turning to the people again, he said to them, Give ear to me all of you, and let my words be clear to you:

¹⁵ There is nothing outside the man which, going into him, is able to make him unclean: but the things which come out of the man are those which make the man unclean.

⁹ And he said to them, Well do ye set aside the commandment of God, that ye may observe what is delivered by yourselves to keep.

¹⁰ For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, he who speaks ill of father or mother, let him surely die.

¹¹ But ye say, If a man say to his father or his mother, It is corban (that is, gift), whatsoever thou mightest have profit from me by...

¹² And ye no longer suffer him to do anything for his father or his mother;

¹³ making void the word of God by your traditional teaching which ye have delivered; and many such like things ye do.

¹⁴ And having called again the crowd, he said to them, Hear me, all of you, and understand:

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside a man entering into him which can defile him; but the things which go out from him, those it is which defile the man.

⁹ And he said to them: Well do you make void the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses said: Honour thy father and thy mother; and He that shall curse father or mother, dying let him die.

¹¹ But you say: If a man shall say to his father or mother, Corban, (which is a gift,) whatsoever is from me, shall profit thee.

¹² And further you suffer him not to do any thing for his father or mother,

¹³ Making void the word of God by your own tradition, which you have given forth. And many other such like things you do.

¹⁴ And calling again the multitude unto him, he said to them: Hear ye me all, and understand.

¹⁵ There is nothing from without a man that entering into him, can defile him. But the things which come from a man, those are they that defile a man.

⁹ And He said to them, “Well do you set aside the commandment of God, so that you may keep your tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever speaks evil of father or mother, let him surely die.’

¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or to his mother, “Whatever you might be profited by me is Corban” ’—(that is, a gift),

¹² then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,

¹³ thus nullifying the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down. And many similar things you do.”

¹⁴ And having summoned all the crowd, He said to them, “Hear Me, all of you and understand:

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside a man, that entering into him, can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.

⁹ Indeed He said to them: “You are very good at nullifying the commandment of God, so that you may keep your tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death.’

¹¹ But you say that if a man should say to father or mother, ‘Whatever profit you might have received from me is Korban’ (that is, a gift to God),

¹² you don't even allow him to do anything for his father or his mother any more,

¹³ making the Word of God of no effect by your tradition that you have handed down. Yes, you do many such things.”

¹⁴ Upon summoning the larger crowd He said to them: “Hear me, everyone, and understand:

¹⁵ There is nothing outside a man that can defile him by going into him; rather, the things that come out of him, those are the ones that defile him.

⁹ “How cleverly you set aside God's law so you can support your traditions!

¹⁰ Moses said, ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Whoever curses their father or mother should die.’

¹¹ But you say that if someone tells their father or mother, ‘Anything you might have received from me is now Corban,’ (that means dedicated to God),

¹² then you don't permit them to do anything further for their mother or father.

¹³ By means of this tradition of yours that you pass down, you make God's word null and void. You do many other things like this.”

¹⁴ Jesus called the crowd to him again and told them, “Please, everyone listen to me and understand.

¹⁵ It's not what's on the outside and goes into you that makes you unclean. It's what comes out that makes you unclean.”

⁹ And he sayd vnto them, Well, ye reiect the commandement of God, that ye may obserue your owne tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses sayd, Honour thy father and thy mother: and Whosoeuer shall speake euill of father or mother, let him die the death.

¹¹ But yee say, If a man say to father or mother, Corban, that is, By the gift that is offered by mee, thou mayest haue profite, hee shall be free.

¹² So ye suffer him no more to doe any thing for his father, or his mother,

¹³ Making the worde of God of none authoritie, by your tradition which ye haue ordeined: and ye doe many such like things.

¹⁴ Then he called the whole multitude vnto him, and sayd vnto them, Hearken you all vnto me, and vnderstand.

¹⁵ There is nothing without a man, that can defile him, when it entreth into him: but the things which proceede out of him, are they which defile the man.

¹² ye suffer him no longer to do anything for his father or his mother;

¹³ making void the word of God by your tradition, which ye have handed down; and many such things ye do.

¹⁴ And again calling the multitude to him, he said to them, Hearken to me all of you, and understand.

¹⁵ Nothing that entereth into a man from without can defile him; but the things that come out of him are what defile a man.

⁹ Wisely do you set aside God's commandments,” he exclaimed, “to keep your own traditions!

¹⁰ For while Moses said ‘Honour your father and your mother,’ and ‘Let anyone who abuses their father or mother suffer death,’

¹¹ you say ‘If a person says to their father or mother “Whatever of mine might have been of service to you is Corban”’ (which means ‘Set apart for God’) —

¹² why, then you do not allow them to do anything further for their father or mother!

¹³ In this way you nullify the words of God by your traditions, which you hand down; and you do many similar things.”

¹⁴ Then Jesus called the people to him again, and said, “Listen to me, all of you, and mark my words.

¹⁵ There is nothing external to a person, which by going into them can defile them; but the things that come out of a person are the things that defile them.”

⁹ Wisely do you set aside God's commandments,” he exclaimed, “to keep your own traditions!

¹⁰ For while Moses said ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and ‘Let anyone who abuses their father or mother suffer death,’

¹¹ you say ‘If a person says to their father or mother “Whatever of mine might have been of service to you is Corban”’ (which means ‘Set apart for God’) —

¹² why, then you do not allow them to do anything further for their father or mother!

¹³ In this way you nullify the words of God by your traditions, which you hand down; and you do many similar things.”

¹⁴ Then Jesus called the people to him again, and said, “Listen to me, all of you, and mark my words.

¹⁵ There is nothing external to a person, which by going into them can defile them; but the things that come out of a person are the things that defile them.”

⁹ He said to them, “Full well do you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses Drawn out said, ‘Honor your father and your mother;’ and, ‘He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.’

¹¹ But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban, that is to say, given to God”’;

¹² then you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother,

¹³ making void ha D'var Elohim · the Word of God· by your tradition, which you have handed down. You do many things like this.”

¹⁴ He called all the multitude to himself, and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand.

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside of the man, that going into him can defile him; but the things which proceed out of the man are those that defile the man.

⁹ And Jesus kept talking to them, he said, “You mob are tricky in the way you turn your back on God’s law and follow your own rules.

¹⁰ You see, God told Moses to tell people to look after their old people. Moses wrote this law, ‘You have to respect your father and mother.’ And it says, ‘If anyone rubbishes their father or mother, you have to kill that person.’

¹¹ But you mob reckon that a man can tell his father or mother, ‘I want to help you old people, but sorry, I promised to give that thing to God, so I can’t give you that thing that you need.’

¹² You mob reckon that if he says that to his father and mother, he doesn’t have to help them and he can keep that thing for himself.

¹³ In that way you take God’s word away from people so that they will just follow the rules that you made up. You do all sorts of things like that all the time.”

¹⁴ Then Jesus called out to all the people to come and listen to him. He said, “Listen to me, everyone, and try to understand what I’m saying.

¹⁵ Don’t worry about what goes into your mouth but worry about what comes out of it. If God hears bad things come out of your mouth he will say that you are no good inside.”

⁹ And he sayde vnto them: well ye cast asyde the comaundement of God to mayntayne youre owne tradicions.

¹⁰ For Moses sayde: Honoure thy father and thy mother: and whosoever cursseth father or mother let him dye for it.

¹¹ But ye saye: a man shall saye to father or mother Corban: which is: that thou desyrest of me to helpe the with is geven God.

¹² And so ye soffre him no more to do ought for his father or his mother

¹³ makinge the worde of God of none effecte through youre awne tradicions which ye have ordeyned. And many soche thinges ye do.

¹⁴ And he called all the people vnto him and sayde vnto them: Herken vnto me every one of you and vnderstonde.

¹⁵ There is no thinge with out a man that can defyle him when it entreth into him: but thoo thinges which procede out of him are those which defyle the man.

⁹ He also said to them, “How well you reject the commandment of God so you may keep your tradition!

¹⁰ For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of his father or mother will surely die.'

¹¹ But you say, 'If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever help you would have received from me is Corban”' (that is to say, 'Given to God'),

¹² then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or his mother.

¹³ You are making the commandment of God void by your tradition which you have handed down. And many similar things you do.”

¹⁴ He called the crowd again and said to them, “Listen to me, all of you, and understand.

¹⁵ There is nothing from outside of a person that can defile him when it enters into him. It is what comes out of the person that defiles him.”

⁹ And he said to them, Well ye have made the commandment of God void (or empty and useless), to keep your tradition.

¹⁰ For Moses said, Worship thy father and thy mother or Honour thou thy father and thy mother; and he that curseth father or mother, die he by death.

¹¹ But ye say, If a man say to (his) father or mother, Corban, that is, Whatever gift is of me, it shall profit to thee, (or Whatever gift is for me, it shall also profit thee);

¹² and over or further(more) ye suffer not him to do anything to (his) father or mother, (and more than this, ye do not allow him to do anything for his father or mother,)

¹³ and ye break the word of God by your tradition, that ye have given; and ye do many other such things.

¹⁴ And he again called the people, and said to them, Ye all hear me, and understand.

¹⁵ Nothing that is without a man, that entereth into him, may defoul him (or can defile him); but those things that come forth of a man, those it be that defoul a man.

⁹ And he seide to hem, Wel ye han maad the maundement of God voide, `to kepe youre tradicioun.

¹⁰ For Moyses seide, Worschipe thi fadir and thi modir; and he that cursith fadir or modir, die he by deeth.

¹¹ But ye seien, If a man seie to fadir or modir, Corban, that is, What euer yifte is of me, it schal profite to thee;

¹² and ouer ye suffren not hym do ony thing to fadir or modir,

¹³ and ye breken the word of God bi youre tradicioun, that ye han youun; and ye don many suche thingis.

¹⁴ And he eftsoone clepide the puple, and seide to hem, Ye alle here me, and vndurstonde.

¹⁵ No thing that is withouten a man, that entrith in to hym, may defoule him; but tho thingis that comen forth of a man, tho it ben that defoulen a man.

⁹ And he said to them, 'Well do ye put away the command of God that your tradition ye may keep;

¹⁰ for Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother — let him die the death;

¹¹ and ye say, If a man may say to father or to mother, Korban (that is, a gift), is whatever thou mayest be profited out of mine,

¹² and no more do ye suffer him to do anything for his father or for his mother,

¹³ setting aside the word of God for your tradition that ye delivered; and many such like things ye do.'

¹⁴ And having called near all the multitude, he said to them, 'Hearken to me, ye all, and understand;

¹⁵ there is nothing from without the man entering into him that is able to defile him, but the things coming out from him, those are the things defiling the man.
