²⁶ Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by race. And she besought him that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷ And he said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children’s bread and cast it to the dogs.

²⁸ But she answered and saith unto him, Yea, Lord; even the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.

²⁹ And he said unto her, For this saying go thy way; the demon is gone out of thy daughter.

³⁰ And she went away unto her house, and found the child laid upon the bed, and the demon gone out.

³¹ And again he went out from the borders of Tyre, and came through Sidon unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the borders of Decapolis.

³² And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to lay his hand upon him.

³³ And he took him aside from the multitude privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spat, and touched his tongue;

³⁴ and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

³⁵ And his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

²⁶ This woman was not a Jew. Her ancestors came from Greece country, but she was born in the region around Phoenicia town in Syria district. She pleaded with Jesus that he expel the evil spirit from her daughter.

²⁷ But he wanted to see how strongly she believed in him. So, suggesting that he should help the Jews first and not the non-Jews whom some Jews called dogs MET, he spoke to her saying, “First let the children eat all they want, because it is not good for someone to take the food the mother has prepared for the children and then throw it to the little dogs.”

²⁸ But to show that she believed that non-Jews could also receive help from God MET, she replied to him, “Sir, what you say is correct, but even the little dogs, which lie under the table, eat the crumbs that the children drop.”

²⁹ Jesus said to her, “Because of what you have said, you have shown me that you believe in what I can do for you. So I will help you. Now you may go home, because I have caused the evil spirit to leave your daughter.”

³⁰ The woman returned to her house and saw that her child was lying quietly on the bed and that the evil spirit had left.

³¹ Jesus and his disciples left the region around Tyre city and went north through Sidon city, then toward the east through the district of the Ten Towns, and then south to the towns near Lake Galilee.

³² There, people brought to him a man who was deaf and who could hardly talk. They begged Jesus to lay his hands on him in order to heal him.

³³ So Jesus took him away from the crowd in order that the two of them could be alone. Then he put one of his fingers into each of the man's ears. After he spat on his fingers, he touched the man's tongue with his fingers.

³⁴ Then he looked up toward heaven, he sighed because he was concerned for the man, and then in his own language he said to the man's ears, “Ephphatha”, which means, “Be opened {Open up}!”.

³⁵ At once the man could hear plainly MTY. He also began to speak clearly because what was causing him to be unable to speak was healed {Jesus healed what was causing him to be unable to speak}.

³⁶ Jesus told ◄ the people/his friends► not to tell anyone what he had done. But, although he ordered them and others repeatedly not to tell anyone about it, they kept talking about it very much.

²⁷ But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not appropriate to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁸ But she answered him, “Yes, Lord. Yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.”

²⁹ He said to her, “For this saying, go your way. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰ She went away to her house, and found the child having been laid on the bed, with the demon gone out.

²⁷ And he said to her, Let the children first have their food: for it is not right to take the children's bread and give it to the dogs.

²⁸ But she said to him in answer, Yes, Lord: even the dogs under the table take the bits dropped by the children.

²⁹ And he said to her, For this saying go your way; the evil spirit has gone out of your daughter.

³⁰ And she went away to her house, and saw the child on the bed, and the evil spirit gone out.

³¹ And again he went out from Tyre, and came through Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the country of Decapolis.

³² And they came to him with one who had no power of hearing and had trouble in talking; and they made a request to him to put his hands on him.

³³ And he took him on one side from the people privately, and put his fingers into his ears, and he put water from his mouth on the man's tongue with his finger;

³⁴ And looking up to heaven, he took a deep breath, and said to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be open.

³⁵ And his ears became open, and the band of his tongue was made loose, and his words became clear.

³⁶ And he gave them orders not to give news of it to anyone; but the more he made this request, so much the more they made it public.

²⁶ (and the woman was a Greek, Syrophenician by race), and asked him that he would cast the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷ But Jesus said to her, Suffer the children to be first filled; for it is not right to take the children's bread and cast it to the dogs.

²⁸ But she answered and says to him, Yea, Lord; for even the dogs under the table eat of the children's crumbs.

²⁹ And he said to her, Because of this word, go thy way, the demon is gone out of thy daughter.

³⁰ And having gone away to her house she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed.

³¹ And again having left the borders of Tyre and Sidon, he came to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

³² And they bring to him a deaf man who could not speak right, and they beseech him that he might lay his hand on him.

³³ And having taken him away from the crowd apart, he put his fingers to his ears; and having spit, he touched his tongue;

³⁴ and looking up to heaven he groaned, and says to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

³⁵ And immediately his ears were opened, and the band of his tongue was loosed and he spoke right.

³⁶ And he charged them that they should speak to no one of it. But so much the more he charged them, so much the more abundantly they proclaimed it;

²⁶ For the woman was a Gentile, a Syrophenician born. And she besought him that he would cast forth the devil out of her daughter.

²⁷ Who said to her: Suffer first the children to be filled: for it is not good to take the bread of the children, and cast it to the dogs.

²⁸ But she answered and said to him: Yea, Lord; for the whelps also eat under the table of the crumbs of the children.

²⁹ And he said to her: For this saying go thy way, the devil is gone out of thy daughter.

³⁰ And when she was come into her house, she found the girl lying upon the bed, and that the devil was gone out.

³¹ And again going out of the coasts of Tyre, he came by Sidon to the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis.

³² And they bring to him one deaf and dumb; and they besought him that he would lay his hand upon him.

³³ And taking him from the multitude apart, he put his fingers into his ears, and spitting, he touched his tongue:

³⁴ And looking up to heaven, he groaned, and said to him: Ephpheta, which is, Be thou opened.

³⁵ And immediately his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke right.

³⁶ And he charged them that they should tell no man. But the more he charged them, so much the more a great deal did they publish it.

²⁶ Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by race, and she was asking Him to cast the demon out from her daughter.

²⁷ But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

²⁸ And she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs underneath the table eat from the crumbs of the children.”

²⁹ Then He said to her, “Because of this saying, go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰ And going away to her house, she found the demon having gone out, and her daughter having been placed on the bed.

³¹ Again, coming out from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He went to the Sea of Galilee, in the midst of the region of Decapolis.

³² Then they brought to Him a deaf man impeded in speech, and they begged Him that He would lay His hand upon him.

³³ And when he had taken him aside from the crowd privately, He put His fingers in his ears, and having spit, He touched his tongue.

³⁴ Then looking up into heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”

³⁵ Immediately his ears were opened, and the bond of his tongue was loosed, and he was speaking correctly.

³⁶ And He ordered them that they should tell no one; but the more He ordered them, the more exceedingly they would proclaim it.

²⁶ Now the woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenecian by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷ But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first; it is not good to take the children's bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

²⁸ So she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children's crumbs.”

²⁹ So He said to her, “Because of this saying you may go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰ She went away to her house and found that the demon was gone and the daughter had been placed on the bed.

³¹ Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, Jesus came to the Sea of Galilee by way of the Decapolis region.

³² Then they brought to Him a deaf man with thick speech and begged Him to place His hand on him.

³³ After taking him aside, away from the crowd, He put His fingers in his ears; He also spat and touched his tongue.

³⁴ Then looking up to heaven He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha!” that is, “Be opened!”

³⁵ Immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he began to speak clearly.

³⁶ Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He would command them, so much the more they would proclaim it.

²⁶ The woman was Greek, born in Syrophoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive out the demon from her daughter.

²⁷ “First let the children eat until they're full,” Jesus replied. “It's not right to take the children's food and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁸ “True, sir,” she said, “but even the dogs under the table eat the scraps the children leave.”

²⁹ Jesus told her, “For such an answer you may go—the demon has left your daughter.”

³⁰ She went home and found the child lying on the bed, the demon gone.

³¹ Leaving the region of Tyre, Jesus passed through Sidon and then on to the Sea of Galilee and the territory of the Ten Cities.

³² There they brought him a deaf man who also could not speak properly. They asked Jesus to touch the man with his hand and heal him.

³³ After Jesus took him aside from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers in the deaf man's ears. Then he touched the man's tongue with spit.

³⁴ Jesus looked up to heaven and with a sigh he said, “Ephphatha,” which means, “Open!”

³⁵ The man's ears were opened, his speech impediment was gone, and he began speaking properly.

³⁶ Jesus gave strict orders not to tell anyone, but the more he said this, the more they spread the news.

²⁶ (And the woman was a Greeke, a Syrophenissian by nation) and she besought him that he would cast out the deuill out of her daughter.

²⁷ But Iesus saide vnto her, Let the children first be fedde: for it is not good to take the childrens bread, and to cast it vnto whelpes.

²⁸ Then shee answered, and saide vnto him, Trueth, Lord: yet in deede the whelpes eate vnder the table of the childrens crommes.

²⁹ Then he said vnto her, For this saying goe thy way: the deuil is gone out of thy daughter.

³⁰ And when shee was come home to her house, shee founde the deuill departed, and her daughter lying on the bed.

³¹ And hee departed againe from the coastes of Tyrus and Sidon, and came vnto the sea of Galile, through the middes of the coastes of Decapolis.

³² And they brought vnto him one that was deafe and stambered in his speache, and prayed him to put his hand vpon him.

³³ Then hee tooke him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers in his eares, and did spit, and touched his tongue.

³⁴ And looking vp to heauen, hee sighed, and said vnto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened.

³⁵ And straightway his eares were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and hee spake plaine.

³⁶ And he commanded them, that they should tell no man: but howe much soeuer hee forbad them, the more a great deale they published it,

²⁷ Jesus replied kindly to her, “Children should eat food, then you will give food to the little dogs. Don't take the children's food to throw to the little dogs.” With that word Jesus told the woman, “I will do good for the Jewish people, not now will I do good for people from other countries. That is for later.”

²⁸ The woman replied, “Yes, boss! That word is a true. The children should eat the food. After that the little dogs will eat. Truly the child eat food, The little dogs eat the left-overs that have fallen from the hands of the children.”

²⁹ Jesus said to her, “You spoke well. For that word I will make your child well. You can go. Already the spirit has left your child.”

³⁰ At his word the woman went, she went to her camp, she saw her child. She was sleeping on her blanket well. The spirit had already gone from her.

³¹ After that Jesus again went northwards to Sidon. He went eastwwards, southwards to the 10 Towns, after that he return to the waterhole Galilee.

³² They brought to him a deaf man, his tongue was weak, he had difficulty talking. They said to Jesus, “Touch this man with your hand, make him well.”

³³ Jesus took the man away so they wouldn't be seen. He put his two hands on the man's ears. After that he spat on his own hand, he put it on the tongue of the man.

³⁴ Then Jesus looked up, he took a very big breath. Then he said to the man, “Ears open!”

³⁵ At his word right then the man's two ears opened, his tongue became good. Then that spoke well.

³⁶ Jesus told the people of the area, “Don't tell others I healed the ears and tongue of that man.” They ignored Jesus' word. They continued telling everybody Jesus had done like that for that man.

²⁶ the woman was a foreigner, from Syrian Phoenicia — and she begged him to drive the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷ “Let the children be satisfied first,” answered Jesus. “For it is not fair to take the children's food, and throw it to dogs.”

²⁸ “Yes, Master,” she replied; “even the dogs under the table do feed on the children's crumbs.”

²⁹ “For saying that,” he answered, “you may go. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰ The woman went home, and found the child lying on her bed, and the demon gone.

³¹ On returning from the district of Tyre, Jesus went, by way of Sidon, to the Sea of Galilee, across the district of the Ten Towns.

³² Some people brought to him a man who was deaf and almost dumb, and they begged Jesus to place his hand on him.

³³ Jesus took him aside from the crowd quietly, put his fingers into the man's ears, and touched his tongue with saliva.

³⁴ Then, looking up to heaven, he sighed, and said to the man, “Ephphatha!” which means ‘Be opened.’

³⁵ The man's ears were opened, the string of his tongue was freed, and he began to talk plainly.

³⁶ Jesus insisted on their not telling anyone; but the more he insisted, the more perseveringly they made it known,

²⁶ the woman was a foreigner, from Syrian Phoenicia — and she begged him to drive the demon out of her daughter.

²⁷ “Let the children be satisfied first,” answered Jesus. “For it is not fair to take the children's food, and throw it to dogs.”

²⁸ “Yes, Master,” she replied; “even the dogs under the table do feed on the children's crumbs.”

²⁹ “For saying that,” he answered, “you may go. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁵ Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was released, and he spoke clearly.

³⁶ He commanded them that they should tell no one, but the more he commanded them, so much the more widely they proclaimed it.

²⁷ Jesus said to her, “I belong to the Jewish tribe. I have to look after my own people first, not you people that are not Jewish. A man feeds his own kids first. He will not take their food and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁸ The woman said, “Yes teacher, you are right about that, but while those kids are eating they drop a few little bits of food, and the dogs under the table can eat those little bits of food. I’m not Jewish but you can still do a little bit for me.”

²⁹ Jesus said, “That is a good answer. It shows me that you trust me. You can go home now. I made that bad spirit go out from your daughter just now.”

³⁰ Then the woman went home and found her daughter lying down quietly on a bed. The bad spirit was gone.

³¹ Then Jesus left Tyre and walked back through another town called Sidon, and then he went around the north of Lake Galilee to the country everyone called Ten Towns.

³² Some people brought a man to Jesus. This man was deaf and he couldn’t talk properly. The man’s friends asked Jesus strongly to put his hand on their friend and make him better.

³³ Jesus took the man away from the other people and put his fingers in the man’s ears. He spat and touched the man’s tongue.

³⁴ Then Jesus looked up into the sky and prayed for the man. He talked in their language, he said, “Ephpatha,” which means Open up.

³⁵ And straight away that man could hear properly, and his tongue was better so he could talk properly.

³⁶ Jesus went back and told the people strongly, “Don’t tell anyone about the great thing I just did.” But they didn’t listen to Jesus. More and more he asked them to stay quiet but more and more they told other people, “Jesus made that man better.”

²⁶ The woman was a Greke oute of Syrophenicia and she besought him that he wolde caste out the devyll oute of her doughter.

²⁷ And Iesus sayde vnto her: let the chyldren fyrst be feed. For it is not mete to take the chyldres breed and to caste it vnto whelppes.

²⁸ She answered and sayde vnto him: even soo master neverthelesse the whelppes also eate vnder the table of the chyldrens cromes.

²⁹ And he sayde vnto her: for this sayinge goo thy waye the devyll is gone out of thy doughter.

³⁰ And when she was come home to her housse she founde the devyll departed and her doughter lyinge on the beed.

³¹ And he departed agayne from the coostes of Tyre and Sidon and came vnto the see of Galile thorowe the middes of the coostos of the .x. cities.

³² And they brought vnto him one that was deffe and stambred in his speche and prayde him to laye his honde apon him.

³³ And he toke him asyde from the people and put his fyngers in his eares and dyd spyt and touched his tounge

³⁴ and loked vp to heven and sygthed and sayde vnto him: ephatha that is to saye be openned.

³⁵ And streyght waye his eares were openned and the stringe of his tounge was loosed and he spake playne.

³⁶ And he commaunded them that they shuld tell no man. But the more he forbad them soo moche the more a greate deale they publesshed it:

²⁶ Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by descent. She begged him to cast out the demon from her daughter.

²⁷ He said to her, “Let the children first be fed. For it is not right to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs.”

²⁸ But she answered and said to him, “Yes, Lord, even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs.”

²⁹ He said to her, “Because you have said this, you are free to go. The demon has gone out of your daughter.”

³⁰ She went back to her house and found the child lying on the bed, and the demon was gone.

³¹ Then he went out again from the region of Tyre, and went through Sidon to the Sea of Galilee up into the region of the Decapolis.

³² They brought to him someone who was deaf and had difficulty speaking, and they begged him to lay his hand on him.

³³ He took him aside from the crowd privately, and he put his fingers into his ears, and after spitting, he touched his tongue.

³⁴ He looked up to heaven, he sighed and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is to say, “Open!”

³⁵ At once his ears were opened, his tongue was released, and he began to speak plainly.

³⁶ Jesus ordered them to tell no one. But the more he ordered them, the more abundantly they proclaimed it.

²⁹ And Jesus said to her, Go thou, for this word the fiend went out of thy daughter.

³⁰ And when she was gone into her house home, or when she had gone home, or she had gone into her house, she found the damsel lying on the bed, and the devil gone out from her.

³³ And he took him aside from the people, and put his fingers into his ears; and he spat, and touched his tongue.

³⁴ And he beheld into heaven, and sorrowed within, and said to him, Ephphatha, that is, Be thou opened.

³⁵ And anon his ears were opened, and the band of his tongue was unbound, and he spake rightly.

³⁶ And he commanded to them, that they should say to no man; but how much he commanded to them, so much the more they preached,

²⁶ And the woman was (a) heathen, of the generation of Syrophenician. And she prayed him, that he would cast out a devil from her daughter, (or And she beseeched him, that he would throw a demon out of her daughter).

²⁷ And he said to her, Suffer thou (or Allow) that the children be fulfilled first or Suffer thou that the sons be filled first; for it is not good to take the bread of children, and give it to hounds.

²⁸ And she answered, and said to him, Yes, Lord; for little whelps eat under the board of the crumbs of (the) children. (And she answered him, Yes, Lord; but even little pups can eat the crumbs of the children under the table.)

³¹ And eftsoones Jhesus yede out fro the coostis of Tire, and cam thorou Sidon to the see of Galilee, bitwixe the myddil of the coostis of Decapoleos.

³¹ And again, having gone forth from the coasts of Tyre and Sidon, he came unto the sea of Galilee, through the midst of the coasts of Decapolis,

³² and they bring to him a deaf, stuttering man, and they call on him that he may put the hand on him.

³³ And having taken him away from the multitude by himself, he put his fingers to his ears, and having spit, he touched his tongue,
