Mark 6:22-55 in American Standard Version (1901)

22 and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and them that sat at meat with him; and the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
24 And she went out, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptizer.
25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou forthwith give me on a platter the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was exceeding sorry; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat, he would not reject her.
27 And straightway the king sent forth a soldier of his guard, and commanded to bring his head: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the damsel; and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 And when his disciples heard thereof, they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 And the apostles gather themselves together unto Jesus; and they told him all things, whatsoever they had done, and whatsoever they had taught.
31 And he saith unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while. For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 And they went away in the boat to a desert place apart.
33 And the people saw them going, and many knew them, and they ran together there on foot from all the cities, and outwent them.
34 And he came forth and saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came unto him, and said, The place is desert, and the day is now far spent;
36 send them away, that they may go into the country and villages round about, and buy themselves somewhat to eat.
37 But he answered and said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, Shall we go and buy two hundred shillings’ worth of bread, and give them to eat?
38 And he saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.
39 And he commanded them that all should sit down by companies upon the green grass.
40 And they sat down in ranks, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 And he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake the loaves; and he gave to the disciples to set before them; and the two fishes divided he among them all.
42 And they all ate, and were filled.
43 And they took up broken pieces, twelve basketfuls, and also of the fishes.
44 And they that ate the loaves were five thousand men.
45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to enter into the boat, and to go before him unto the other side to Bethsaida, while he himself sendeth the multitude away.
46 And after he had taken leave of them, he departed into the mountain to pray.
47 And when even was come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.
48 And seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary unto them, about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them:
49 but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;
50 for they all saw him, and were troubled. But he straightway spake with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.
51 And he went up unto them into the boat; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves;
52 for they understood not concerning the loaves, but their heart was hardened.
53 And when they had crossed over, they came to the land unto Gennesaret, and moored to the shore.
54 And when they were come out of the boat, straightway the people knew him,
55 and ran round about that whole region, and began to carry about on their beds those that were sick, where they heard he was.

25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oath’s sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Mark 6:22-55 in Translation for Translators

22 While they were eating, Herodias' daughter came into the room and danced, and that pleased King Herod and his guests. So the king said to her, “Ask me for whatever you desire and I will give it to you!”
23 He said to her, “Whatever you ask, I will give it to you! I will give you up to half of what I own and rule, if you ask for it. May God punish me if I do not do what I have promised!”
24 The girl immediately left the room and went to her mother. She told her what the king had said, and asked her, “What shall I ask for?” Her mother replied, “ Ask the king to give you the head of John the Baptizer!”
25 The girl quickly entered the room again. She went to the king and she requested, “I want you to command someone to cut off the head of John the Baptizer and give it to me at once on a platter, so that my mother can know he is dead!”
26 The king became very distressed when he heard what she asked for, because he knew John was a very righteous man (OR, because he now knew that he should not have made that promise to her). But he could not refuse what she requested because he had promised that he would give her anything she asked for, and because his guests had heard him promise that.
27 So the king at once ordered the man who executes prisoners to go and cut off John's head and bring it to the girl. That man went to the prison and cut off John's head.
28 He put it on a platter, brought it back, and gave it to the girl. The girl took it to her mother.
29 After John's disciples heard what happened, they went to the prison and took John's body and then they buried it in a burial cave.
30 The twelve apostles returned to Jesus from the places to which they had gone. They reported to him what they had done and what they had taught to people.
31 He said to them, “Come with me to a place where no people are living, in order that we can be alone and rest a little while!” He said this because many people were continually coming to them and going away again, with the result that Jesus and his disciples did not have time to eat or do anything else.
32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a place where no people were living.
33 But many people saw them leaving. They also recognized that they were Jesus and the disciples, and they saw where they were going. So they ran ahead on land from all the nearby towns to the place where Jesus and his disciples were going. They actually arrived there before Jesus and the disciples.
34 As Jesus and his disciples got out of the boat, Jesus saw this large crowd. He felt sorry for them because they were confused, like sheep that do not have a shepherd. So he taught them many things.
35 Late in the afternoon, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a place where no people live and it is very late.
36 So send the people away in order that they may go to the surrounding farms and villages in order that they can buy for themselves something to eat!”
37 But he replied, “ No, you yourselves give them something to eat!” They replied, “◄We could not buy enough bread to feed this crowd, even if we had as much money as a man earns by working 200 days!/How could we buy enough bread to feed this mob, even if we had as much money as a man earns by working 200 days?►” RHQ
38 But he replied to them, “How many loaves of bread do you have? Go and find out!” They went and found out and then they told him, “We have only five flat loaves and two cooked fish!”
39 He instructed the disciples to tell all the people to sit down on the green grass.
40 So the people sat in groups. There were 50 people in some groups and 100 people in other groups.
41 Jesus took the five flat loaves and the two fish. He looked up towards heaven and thanked God for them. Then he broke the loaves and fish into pieces and kept giving them to the disciples in order that they would distribute them to the people.
42 Everyone ate this food until they all had enough to eat!
43 The disciples then collected twelve baskets full of pieces of bread and of the fish that were left over.
44 There were approximately five thousand men who ate the bread and fish. They did not even count the women and children.
45 Right away Jesus told his disciples to get into the boat and then go ahead of him to Bethsaida town, which was further around Lake Galilee. He stayed and dismissed the many people who were there.
46 After he said goodbye to the people, he went up into the hills in order to pray.
47 When it was evening, the disciples' boat was in the middle of the lake and Jesus was by himself on the land.
48 He saw that the wind was blowing against them as they rowed. As a result, they were having great difficulty. He approached them early in the morning, when it was still dark, by walking on the water. He intended to walk by them.
49 They saw him walking on the water, but they thought that he was a ghost. They screamed
50 because they all were terrified when they saw him. But he talked to them. He said to them, “Be calm! Do not be afraid, because it is I!”
51 He got into the boat and sat down with them and the wind immediately stopped blowing. They were completely amazed about what he had done.
52 Although they had seen Jesus multiply the bread and the fish, they did not understand from that how powerful he was, as they should have. They did not think clearly about it.
53 After they went further around Lake Galilee in a boat, they came to the shore at Gennesaret town. Then they tied up the boat there.
54 As soon as they got out of the boat, the people there recognized Jesus.
55 So they ran throughout the whole district in order to tell others that Jesus was there. Then the people placed those who were sick on stretchers and carried them to any place where they heard people say that Jesus was.

24 She went out and said to her mother, “What shall I ask?” She said, “The head of John the Baptiser.”
25 She came in immediately with haste to the king and requested, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptiser on a platter.”
26 The king was exceedingly sorry, but for the sake of his oaths and of his dinner guests, he didn’t wish to refuse her.
27 Immediately the king sent out a soldier of his guard and commanded to bring John’s head; and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 and brought his head on a platter, and gave it to the young lady; and the young lady gave it to her mother.
29 When his disciples heard this, they came and took up his corpse and laid it in a tomb.
30 The apostles gathered themselves together to Jesus, and they told him all things, whatever they had done, and whatever they had taught.
31 He said to them, “Come away into a deserted place, and rest awhile.” For there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 They went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
33 They saw them going, and many recognised him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to him.
34 Jesus came out, saw a great multitude, and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
35 When it was late in the day, his disciples came to him and said, “This place is deserted, and it is late in the day.
36 Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.”
37 But he answered them, “You give them something to eat.” They asked him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”
38 He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go see.” When they knew, they said, “Five, and two fish.”
39 He commanded them that everyone should sit down in groups on the green grass.
40 They sat down in ranks, by hundreds and by fifties.
41 He took the five loaves and the two fish; and looking up to heaven, he blessed and broke the loaves, and he gave to his disciples to set before them, and he divided the two fish amongst them all.
42 They all ate and were filled.
43 They took up twelve baskets full of broken pieces and also of the fish.
44 Those who ate the loaves were five thousand men.
45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself sent the multitude away.
46 After he had taken leave of them, he went up the mountain to pray.
47 When evening had come, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on the land.
48 Seeing them distressed in rowing, for the wind was contrary to them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have passed by them,
49 but they, when they saw him walking on the sea, supposed that it was a ghost, and cried out;
50 for they all saw him and were troubled. But he immediately spoke with them and said to them, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
51 He got into the boat with them; and the wind ceased, and they were very amazed amongst themselves, and marvelled;
52 for they hadn’t understood about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.
53 When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.
54 When they had come out of the boat, immediately the people recognised him,
55 and ran around that whole region, and began to bring those who were sick on their mats to where they heard he was.

Mark 6:22-55 in Bible in Basic English

22 And when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and did a dance, Herod and those who were at table with him were pleased with her; and the king said to the girl, Make a request for anything and I will give it you.
23 And he took an oath, saying to her, Whatever is your desire I will give it to you, even half of my kingdom.
24 And she went out and said to her mother, What is my request to be? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 And she came in quickly to the king, and said, My desire is that you give me straight away on a plate the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was very sad; but because of his oaths, and those who were with him at table, he would not say 'No' to her.
27 And straight away the king sent out one of his armed men, and gave him an order to come back with the head: and he went and took off John's head in prison,
28 And came back with the head on a plate, and gave it to the girl; and the girl gave it to her mother.
29 And when his disciples had news of it, they came and took up his body, and put it in its last resting-place.
30 And the twelve came together to Jesus; and they gave him an account of all the things they had done, and all they had been teaching.
31 And he said to them, Come away by yourselves to a quiet place, and take a rest for a time. Because there were a great number coming and going, and they had no time even for food.
32 And they went away in the boat to a waste place by themselves.
33 And the people saw them going, and a number of them, having knowledge who they were, went running there together on foot from all the towns, and got there before them.
34 And he got out, and saw a great mass of people, and he had pity on them, because they were like sheep without a keeper: and he gave them teaching about a number of things.
35 And at the end of the day, his disciples came to him and said, This place is waste land, and it is late:
36 Send them away, so that they may go into the country and small towns round about, and get some food for themselves.
37 But he said to them in answer, Give them food yourselves. And they said to him, Are we to go and get bread for two hundred pence, and give it to them?
38 And he said to them, How much bread have you? go and see. And when they had seen, they said, Five cakes of bread and two fishes.
39 And he made them all be seated in groups on the green grass.
40 And they were placed in groups, by hundreds and by fifties.
41 And he took the five cakes of bread and the two fishes and, looking up to heaven, he said words of blessing over them; and when the cakes were broken, he gave them to the disciples to put before the people; and he made division of the two fishes among them all.
42 And they all took of the food and had enough.
43 And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken bits and of the fishes.
44 And those who took of the bread were five thousand men.
45 And straight away he made his disciples get into the boat, and go before him to the other side to Beth-saida, while he himself sent the people away.
46 And after he had sent them away, he went up into a mountain for prayer.
47 And by evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he by himself on the land.
48 And seeing that they had trouble in getting their boat through the water, because the wind was against them, about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea; and he would have gone past them;
49 But they, when they saw him walking on the sea, took him for a spirit, and gave a loud cry:
50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. But straight away he said to them, Take heart, it is I, have no fear.
51 And he went to them into the boat, and the wind went down, and they were full of wonder in themselves;
52 For it was not clear to them about the bread; but their hearts were hard.
53 And when they had gone across, they came to Gennesaret, and got their boat to land.
54 And when they had got out of the boat, the people quickly had news of him,
55 And went running through all the country round about, and took on their beds those who were ill, to where it was said that he was.

43 And they took up of fragments the fillings of twelve hand-baskets, and of the fishes.
44 And those that ate of the loaves were five thousand men.
45 And immediately he compelled his disciples to go on board ship, and to go on before to the other side to Bethsaida, while he sends the crowd away.
46 And, having dismissed them, he departed into the mountain to pray.
47 And when evening was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone upon the land.

50 For all saw him and were troubled. And immediately he spoke with them, and says to them, Be of good courage: it is I; be not afraid.
51 And he went up to them into the ship, and the wind fell. And they were exceedingly beyond measure astonished in themselves and wondered;
52 for they understood not through the loaves: for their heart was hardened.
53 And having passed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret and made the shore.
54 And on their coming out of the ship, immediately recognising him,
55 they ran through that whole country around, and began to carry about those that were ill on couches, where they heard that he was.

38 So He says to them: “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” When they knew they said, “Five, and two fish.”
39 Then He directed them all to recline in groups on the green grass.
40 So they reclined in ‘plots’ of hundreds and of fifties.

Mark 6:22-55 in Free Bible Version

22 Herodias' daughter came in and danced for them. Herod and those eating with him were delighted at her performance, so he told the girl,
23 “Ask me for whatever you like, and I'll give it to you.” He confirmed his promise with an oath, “I'll give you up to half my kingdom.”
24 She went out and asked her mother, “What should I ask for?” “The head of John the Baptist,” she replied.
25 The girl hurried back in and said to the king, “I want you to give me right now the head of John the Baptist on a plate.”
26 The king was very upset, but because of the oaths he'd made in front of his guests, he didn't want to refuse her.
27 So he immediately sent an executioner to bring him John's head. After beheading him in the prison,
28 the executioner brought John's head on a plate and gave it to the girl, and the young girl handed it to her mother.
29 When John's disciples heard what had happened they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.
30 The apostles returned and gathered around Jesus. They told him all they had done and what they had taught.
31 “Come with me, just yourselves. We'll go to a quiet place, and rest for a while,” Jesus told them, because there was so much coming and going that they didn't even have time to eat.
32 So they went by boat to a quiet place to be alone.
33 But people saw them leaving and recognized them. So people from all the surrounding towns ran ahead and got there before them.
34 When Jesus got off the boat he saw a huge crowd, and he felt pity for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began to teach them about many things.
35 It was getting late in the day and Jesus' disciples came to him. They told him, “We're miles from anywhere, and it's really late.
36 You should tell the people to go and buy themselves something to eat in the villages and countryside nearby.”
37 But Jesus replied, “You give them something to eat.” “What? We'd need more than six month's pay to buy bread to feed all these people,” the disciples replied.
38 “Well, how much bread do you have?” Jesus asked. “Go and see.” They went and checked, and told him, “Five loaves, and a couple of fish.”
39 Jesus told everyone to sit down in groups on the green grass.
40 They sat in groups of hundreds and fifties.
41 Then he took the five loaves and the two fish. Looking up to heaven he blessed the food and broke the bread into pieces. Then he handed the bread to the disciples to give to the people, and he divided the fish up between all of them.
42 Everyone ate until they were full.
43 Then they collected up the leftovers of the bread and fish—twelve basketfuls.
44 A total of five thousand men plus their families ate the food.
45 Immediately after this Jesus instructed his disciples to get back into the boat. They were to go on ahead to Bethsaida on the other side of the lake while he sent the people on their way.
46 Once he'd said goodbye to them he went up into the hills to pray.
47 Late that evening the boat was in the middle of the lake while Jesus was alone, still on land.
48 He could see them being buffeted about as they rowed hard because the wind was blowing against them. In the early morning hours Jesus came to them, walking on the water. He would have passed them,
49 but when they saw him walking on the water they thought he was a ghost. They screamed out
50 because they could all see him and were absolutely terrified. Jesus told them right away: “Don't worry, it's me. Don't be afraid!”
51 He went over to them and climbed into the boat, and the wind died down. They were totally shocked,
52 for they hadn't understood the meaning of the feeding miracle due to their stubborn, hard-hearted attitude.
53 After crossing the Sea they arrived at Gennesaret and moored the boat.
54 As they climbed out, the people immediately recognized Jesus.
55 They ran everywhere around the whole area to bring in all the sick on their mats to where they'd heard Jesus was.

51 Then he went vp vnto them into the ship, and the winde ceased, and they were much more amased in them selues, and marueiled.
52 For they had not considered the matter of the loaues, because their hearts were hardened.

22 and when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod and them that sat with him, the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 And he sware unto her, Whatsoever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, unto the half of my kingdom.
24 And she went forth, and said unto her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 And she came in straightway with haste unto the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou give me by and by in a charger the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was exceeding sorry; yet for his oaths’ sake, and for their sakes which sat with him, he would not reject her.
27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,

Mark 6:22-55 in Nyangumarta English Bible

30 Later Jesus' mob who had been sent out returned to him. They told him they were making people well, they were sending out evil spirits, they were teaching people about God, in that way, in response to Jesus' word.
31 At that time very many people came to Jesus. They were crowding him from all sides. They did not let Jesus and his men eat. After that Jesus said to his men, “Just we will go to countryside where there are no people. We will rest for a while.”
32 They climbed into a dinghy, they went to where there were no people.
33 Many were watching them, they knew about them, and they knew where Jesus was going. They went quickly around the end of the waterhole to the far side on foot, they were ready waiting for him.
34 When Jesus disembarked he saw many ready waiting for him. When he saw them he felt sorry for them. He said to himself, “These people are truly in a bad way, without a boss. They are lost, like sheep without a carer.” For a long he was teaching them about God.
35 It became late afternoon. They were still listening to his word. His men said to him, “It is late afternoon. The towns are far away.
36 Send these people to the towns so they can get food for themselves.”
37 Jesus replied, “You give them food.” His men said to him, “We cannot give them food. We could only get food for those many people with a lot of money. We have only a little money.”
38 In reply he said to them, “How much damper do you have? Look.” After looking they said to him, “Five dampers and two small fish.”
39 He told his men, “Tell the people to sit down.” They told them to sit down on the grass in groups.
40 They sat down at his word, here 50 were in a group, over there 100 were in a group. All the others were like that, they were in groups everywhere.
41 Jesus picked up their dampers, he looked upwards, he said to God, “You are the one who gave us this food. Thank you! You have helped us! You are good.” When he had said that, he broke the dampers into pieces, he gave them to his men, he said to them, “Give them to these people.” He did the same sort of thing with the two fish also.
42 They all ate till they were full.
43 After that his men picked up the leftovers, they put them in carrying dishes, they filled 12 big carrying dishes.
44 Many people ate. Five thousand men ate that food.
45 After that Jesus told his men, “Get in the dinghy, go to the other side, to Bethsaida. Later I will come to you.” They went ahead in the dinghy. Then Jesus sent all the others to their camps.
46 After that Jesus climbed up a hill to talk to God.
47 It became dark. He was staying there alone. His men were in the dinghy in the middle of the water, they were in a bad way. A big wind was blowing for them.
48 They were still trying in vain to make the dinghy go, in vain they were trying to make it go with oars (lit. 'with wood') because of the big wind. Jesus saw them from a long way off. He came to them before it was day. He was going on top of the water. He kept coming close to them.
49 His men saw him, he was following them from behind on top of the water. They did not recognise him, they were thinking something like an evil spirit was coming. They were afraid of him, they really called out with fear.
50 Jesus told them, “Don't be afraid. It is me coming. Quieten down, stay well.”
51 He climbed in the dinghy with them. Right then the wind abated. His men wondered at him. They were saying to each other, “Yes, look! He was walking on top of the water. As soon as he came right then the wind abated.”
52 They did not understand. Earlier they saw him give food to 5,000 men from a little fish and damper. They didn't keep it in their minds. They were still thinking to themselves, “He is just a person like us.”
53 After that they arrived in that country Gennesaret. They tied the dinghy with a rope at the edge of the waterhole.
54 Jesus got out of the dinghy, those inhabitants of the place saw him, straight away they knew him.
55 They ran everywhere in that country, they were saying to them, “Jesus has come.” After that they were bringing sick ones on blankets.

22 When his daughter — that is, the daughter of Herodias — came in and danced, she delighted Herod and those who were dining with him. “Ask me for whatever you like,” the king said to the girl, “and I will give it to you”;
23 and he swore to her that he would give her whatever she asked him — up to half his kingdom.
24 The girl went out, and said to her mother “What must I ask for?” “The head of John the Baptiser,” answered her mother.
25 So she went in as quickly as possible to the king, and made her request. “I want you,” she said, “to give me at once, on a dish, the head of John the Baptist.”
26 The king was much distressed; yet, because of his oath and of the guests at his table, he did not like to refuse her.
27 He immediately dispatched one of his bodyguard, with orders to bring John's head. The man went and beheaded John in the prison,
28 and, bringing his head on a dish, gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.
29 When John's disciples heard of it, they came and took his body away, and laid it in a tomb.

36 Send the people away, so that they may go to the farms and villages around and buy themselves something to eat.”
37 But Jesus answered, “It is for you to give them something to eat.” “Are we to go and spend almost a year's wages on bread,” they asked, “to give them to eat?”
38 “How many loaves have you?” he asked; “Go, and see.” When they had found out, they told him, “Five, and two fish.”

43 and they picked up enough broken pieces to fill twelve baskets, as well as some of the fish.

Mark 6:22-55 in Plain English Version

30 Some time later the 12 close followers of Jesus came back from telling his message to all the communities. They stood around Jesus and told him everything they did and what they taught the people in the communities.
31 While they were talking, lots of other people were coming up to Jesus all the time, so Jesus and his followers didn’t get a chance to eat any food. Jesus was worried for his followers, so he said to them, “Let’s go to a quiet place out bush so that you can rest for a while.”
32 So Jesus and his followers got into a boat and started to go across the lake to a quiet place away from all the people. But lots of people saw them leave.
33 They were from a lot of different communities, but they knew the place that Jesus and his close followers were going to. They ran around the side of the lake and got there first, before the boat.
34 Jesus and his close followers came to that place and got out of the boat. Jesus looked at the mob of people waiting for him and he felt sad inside for them. They didn’t have anyone looking after them. They were like a mob of sheep that had no boss to take care of them. So Jesus started to teach them lots of things.
35 At the end of the day, the close followers of Jesus went to him and said, “It’s nearly time for the sun to go down and we are way out here in the bush.
36 You have to send the people away from here so that they can find some food. They can go to a nearby farm or community to buy some food to eat.”
37 Jesus said to them, “You mob give them some food to eat.” But they said, “What? We haven’t got that much food. Do you want us to go and buy a lot of bread for them? That will cost thousands of dollars.”
38 Jesus said to his followers, “How much food have you got? Go and have a look.” They came back to him and said, “We’ve got 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish.”
39 Jesus told his followers to get the people to sit on the green grass in groups, maybe about 50 people or about 100 people in each group.
41 Then Jesus picked up the bread and the fish, looked up to the sky and said, “Thank you God for this bread and fish.” Then Jesus broke up the bread and fish and gave the pieces to his followers to give to the people.
42 All of the people had a good feed
43 and after that Jesus’s followers picked up the bits of food left over. They filled up 12 big baskets with the food that people didn’t eat.
44 A really big mob of people had a feed that day. There were 5,000 men, as well as women and kids.
45 As soon as they finished eating Jesus told his followers, “Get into your boat and row across the lake to a place called Bethsaida. I will follow you mob some time later.” Then he started telling all the people, “You mob can go home now. Goodbye.”
46 After he said goodbye to them Jesus went up into the hills to pray.
47 Night time came, and Jesus was still on the land all alone, and the boat was half-way across the lake.
48 Later that night Jesus looked out and saw that his followers were having a hard time rowing the boat. The wind was stopping them. Just before daylight Jesus walked on the water toward to the boat and it looked like he was going to keep going past them.
49 The followers of Jesus saw him walking on the water and they thought he was a ghost. They got really frightened and screamed. Straight away Jesus said to them, “It’s all right. It’s me, Jesus. Don’t be frightened.”
51 Then Jesus got into the boat with his followers and straight away the wind stopped blowing. The men in the boat were surprised.
52 They still couldn’t understand about Jesus. They saw what he did with the bread and fish the day before, but they couldn’t work it out. It was like their brains were no good.
53 Then they came to the land again, to the country called Gennesaret, and they tied up the boat.
54 A lot of people saw Jesus getting out of the boat and they knew who he was,
55 so they ran around everywhere to the sick people in that country and carried them on swags to Jesus.

Mark 6:22-55 in Unlocked Literal Bible

22 The daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced for them, and she pleased Herod and his dinner guests. The king said to the girl, “Ask me for anything you want and I will give it to you.”
23 He swore to her saying, “Whatever you ask of me, I will give you, up to half of my kingdom.”
24 She went out and said to her mother, “What should I ask him for?” She said, “The head of John the Baptist.”
25 She immediately hurried back to the king, and she asked, saying, “I want you to give me, right now, the head of John the Baptist on a wooden platter.”
26 Though this deeply grieved the king, he could not refuse her request because of the oath he had made and because of his dinner guests.
27 So the king sent a soldier from his guard and commanded him to bring him John's head. The guard went and beheaded him in the prison.
28 He brought his head on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother.
29 When his disciples heard of this, they came and took his body and placed it in a tomb.
30 The apostles returned to Jesus and told him all that they had done and taught.
31 Then he said to them, “Come away by yourselves into a deserted place and rest a while.” For many were coming and going, and they did not even have time to eat.
32 So they went away in the boat to a deserted place by themselves.
33 But they saw them leaving and many recognized them, and they ran there together on foot from all the towns, and they arrived there before them.
34 When they came ashore, he saw a great crowd and he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began to teach them many things.
35 When the hour was late, his disciples came to him and said, “This is a deserted place and the hour is already late.
36 Send them away so that they may go into the nearby countryside and villages to buy something to eat for themselves.”
37 But he answered and said to them, “You give them something to eat.” They said to him, “Can we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give it to them to eat?”
38 He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.” When they found out, they said, “Five loaves and two fish.”
39 He commanded all the people to sit down in groups upon the green grass.
40 They sat down in groups of hundreds and fifties.
41 He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven he blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.
42 They all ate until they were satisfied.
43 They took up broken pieces of bread, twelve baskets full, and also pieces of the fish.
44 There were five thousand men who ate the loaves.
45 Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he sent the crowd away.
46 When they were gone, he went up the mountain to pray.
47 Evening came, and the boat was now in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on land.
48 He saw that they straining against the oars, for the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea, and he wanted to pass by them.
49 But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought he was a ghost and cried out,
50 because they saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said to them, “Be courageous! It is I! Do not be afraid!”
51 He got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased blowing. They were completely amazed.
52 For they had not understood what the loaves meant. Instead, their hearts were hardened.
53 When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and anchored the boat.
54 When they came out of the boat, the people recognized him immediately,
55 and they ran throughout the whole region and began to bring the sick on their mats to wherever they heard he was.

22 And when the daughter of the said Herodias came in, and danced, and pleased Herod, and them that sat with him, the king said to the damsel, Ask of me whatever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
23 And he swore to her, Whatever thou shalt ask of me, I will give it thee, to the half of my kingdom.
24 And she went forth, and said to her mother, What shall I ask? and she said, The head of John the Baptist.
25 And she came in forthwith with haste to the king, and asked, saying, I will that thou shouldst give me, immediately, in a dish, the head of John the Baptist.
26 And the king was exceeding sorry: yet for his oath's sake, and for their sakes who sat with him, he would not reject her.
27 And immediately the king sent an executioner, and commanded his head to be brought: and he went and beheaded him in the prison,
28 And brought his head in a dish, and gave it to the damsel: and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 And when his disciples heard of it , they came and took up his corpse, and laid it in a tomb.
30 And the apostles assembled themselves to Jesus, and told him all things, both what they had done, and what they had taught.
31 And he said to them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat.
32 And they departed into a desert place in a boat privately.
33 And the people saw them departing, and many knew him, and ran on foot thither out of all cities, and out went them, and came together to him.
34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw many people, and was moved with compassion towards them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
35 And when the day was now far spent, his disciples came to him, and said, This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed:
36 Send them away, that they may go into the country around, and into the villages, and buy themselves bread: for they have nothing to eat.
37 He answered and said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they say to him, Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
38 He saith to them, How many loaves have ye? go and see. And when they knew, they say, Five, and two fishes.

50 (For they all saw him, and were troubled.) And immediately he talked with them, and saith to them, Be of good cheer: It is I; be not afraid.
51 And he went up to them into the boat; and the wind ceased: and they were greatly amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.
52 For they considered not the miracle of the loaves; for their heart was hardened.
53 And when they had passed over, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore.
54 And when they had come out of the boat forthwith they knew him,

27 but he sent a man-queller and commanded, that John’s head were brought in a dish. And he beheaded him in the prison,
28 and brought his head in a dish, and gave it to the damsel, and the damsel gave it to her mother.
29 And when this thing was heard, his disciples came, and took his body, and laid it in a burial.
30 And the apostles came together to Jesus, and told to him all things, that they had done, and taught.
31 And he said to them, Come ye by yourselves into a desert place; and rest ye a little. For there were many that came, and went again, and they had not space for to eat.
32 And they went into a boat, and went into a desert place by them-selves.
33 And they saw them go away, and many knew, and they went afoot from all cities, and ran together thither, and came before them.
34 And Jesus went out, and saw much people, and had ruth or mercy on them, for they were as sheep not having a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.
35 And when it was late in the day, his disciples came to him, and said, This is a desert place, and the time is now passed;
36 let them go into the next towns and villages, to buy them meat to eat.
37 And he answered, and said to them, Give ye to them for to eat. And they said to him, Go we, and buy we loaves with two hundred pence, and we shall give to them for to eat.
38 And he saith to them, How many loaves have ye? Go ye, and see. And when they had known, they say, Five, and two fishes.
39 And he commanded to them, that they should make all men sit to meat by companies, on the green hay.
40 And they sat down by parts or by parties, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 And when he had taken the five loaves, and two fishes, he beheld into heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves, and gave to his disciples, that they should set before them. And he parted two fishes to all;
42 and all ate, and were full-filled or fulfilled.
43 And they took the remnants of broken meats, twelve coffins full, and of the fishes.
44 And they that ate, were five thousand of men.
45 And anon he made his disciples to go up into a boat, to pass before him over the sea to Bethsaida, while he let the people go.
46 And when he had left them, he went into an high hill, to pray.
47 And when it was even, the boat was in the middle or in the midst of the sea, and he alone in the land;
48 and he saw them travailing in rowing; for the wind was contrary to them. And about the fourth waking of the night, he wandering on the sea, came to them, and would pass them.
49 And as they saw him wandering on the sea, they guessed that it were a phantom, and cried out;
50 for all saw him, and they were afraid, or they were troubled, or disturbed. And anon he spake with them, and said to them, Trust ye, I am; do not ye dread.
51 And he came up to them into the boat, and the wind ceased. And they wondered more within themselves;
52 for they understood not of the loaves; for their heart was blinded.
53 And when they were passed over the sea, they came into the land of Gennesaret, and setted to land.
54 And when they were gone out of the boat, anon they knew him.
55 And they ran through all that country, and began to bring sick men in beds on each side, where they heard that he was.

Mark 6 in Wycliffe Bible

Mark 6:22-55 in Young's Literal Translation

22 and the daughter of that Herodias having come in, and having danced, and having pleased Herod and those reclining (at meat) with him, the king said to the damsel, 'Ask of me whatever thou wilt, and I will give to thee,'
23 and he sware to her — 'Whatever thou mayest ask me, I will give to thee — unto the half of my kingdom.'
24 And she, having gone forth, said to her mother, 'What shall I ask for myself?' and she said, 'The head of John the Baptist;'
25 and having come in immediately with haste unto the king, she asked, saying, 'I will that thou mayest give me presently, upon a plate, the head of John the Baptist.'
26 And the king — made very sorrowful — because of the oaths and of those reclining (at meat) with him, would not put her away,
27 and immediately the king having sent a guardsman, did command his head to be brought,
28 and he having gone, beheaded him in the prison, and brought his head upon a plate, and did give it to the damsel, and the damsel did give it to her mother;
29 and having heard, his disciples came and took up his corpse, and laid it in the tomb.
30 And the apostles are gathered together unto Jesus, and they told him all, and how many things they did, and how many things they taught,
31 and he said to them, 'Come ye yourselves apart to a desert place, and rest a little,' for those coming and those going were many, and not even to eat had they opportunity,
32 and they went away to a desert place, in the boat, by themselves.
33 And the multitudes saw them going away, and many recognised him, and by land from all the cities they ran thither, and went before them, and came together to him,
34 and having come forth, Jesus saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion on them, that they were as sheep not having a shepherd, and he began to teach many things.
35 And now the hour being advanced, his disciples having come near to him, say, — 'The place is desolate, and the hour is now advanced,
36 let them away, that, having gone away to the surrounding fields and villages, they may buy to themselves loaves, for what they may eat they have not.'
37 And he answering said to them, 'Give ye them to eat,' and they say to him, 'Having gone away, may we buy two hundred denaries' worth of loaves, and give to them to eat?'
38 And he saith to them, 'How many loaves have ye? go and see;' and having known, they say, 'Five, and two fishes.'
39 And he commanded them to make all recline in companies upon the green grass,
40 and they sat down in squares, by hundreds, and by fifties.
41 And having taken the five loaves and the two fishes, having looked up to the heaven, he blessed, and brake the loaves, and was giving to his disciples, that they may set before them, and the two fishes divided he to all,
42 and they did all eat, and were filled,
43 and they took up of broken pieces twelve hand-baskets full, and of the fishes,
44 and those eating of the loaves were about five thousand men.
45 And immediately he constrained his disciples to go into the boat, and to go before to the other side, unto Bethsaida, till he may let the multitude away,
46 and having taken leave of them, he went away to the mountain to pray.
47 And evening having come, the boat was in the midst of the sea, and he alone upon the land;
48 and he saw them harassed in the rowing, for the wind was against them, and about the fourth watch of the night he doth come to them walking on the sea, and wished to pass by them.
49 And they having seen him walking on the sea, thought it to be an apparition, and cried out,
50 for they all saw him, and were troubled, and immediately he spake with them, and saith to them, 'Take courage, I am he, be not afraid.'
51 And he went up unto them to the boat, and the wind lulled, and greatly out of measure were they amazed in themselves, and were wondering,
52 for they understood not concerning the loaves, for their heart hath been hard.
53 And having passed over, they came upon the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore,
54 and they having come forth out of the boat, immediately having recognised him,
55 having run about through all that region round about, they began upon the couches to carry about those ill, where they were hearing that he is,
