²⁶ And he called to him one of the servants, and inquired what these things might be.

²⁷ And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

²⁸ The eldest son got sulky and didn't go to the house to meet his brother, he stayed outside a fair way off. Then his father went out to him, he begged him, ‘Come inside the house.’

²⁸ Then the oldest son got angry, and he said, ‘I’m not happy. I’m not going into the house to join in that party. No way.’ So his father came out and said, ‘Don’t be angry. Come on in, and have a good time with us.’ And the father kept on asking him to come in.
