⁹ And when Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned and said unto the multitude that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

¹⁰ And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole.

¹¹ And it came to pass soon afterwards, that he went to a city called Nain; and his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.

¹² Now when he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, there was carried out one that was dead, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.

¹⁴ And he came nigh and touched the bier: and the bearers stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.

¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he gave him to his mother.

¹⁶ And fear took hold on all: and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet is arisen among us: and, God hath visited his people.

⁹ When the officer's friends arrived and told that to Jesus, he marveled at what the officer had said. Then he turned and said to the crowd that was going with him, “I tell you, I have never before found anyone who trusted in me like this non-Jewish man does. No one from Israel, where I would expect people to believe in me, has trusted in me like he has!”

¹⁰ When those men returned to the officer's house, they found that the slave was well.

¹¹ Soon after that, Jesus went to a town called Nain. His disciples and a large crowd of other people went with him.

¹² As they approached the town gate, the corpse of a young man who had just died was being carried out on a stretcher { people were carrying out on a stretcher the corpse of a young man who had just died}. His mother was a widow, and he was her only son. A large group of people from the town were accompanying them.

¹³ When the Lord saw her, he pitied her. He said to her, “Do not cry!”

¹⁴ Then, ignoring the Jewish laws about not coming near a corpse, he came close and touched the stretcher on which the body was lying. So the men carrying it stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!”

¹⁵ The man sat up and began to talk! Jesus returned him to his mother to care for her.

¹⁶ Then everyone there was amazed/awestruck. They praised God, saying, “A great prophet has come among us!” They also said, “God has come to help his people!”

¹⁷ Then they reported what Jesus had done throughout all of Judea district and other nearby areas.

¹² Now when he came near the door of the town, a dead man was being taken out, the only son of his mother, who was a widow: and a great number of people from the town were with her.

¹³ And when the Lord saw her, he had pity on her and said to her, Be not sad.

¹⁴ And he came near, and put his hand on the stretcher where the dead man was: and those who were moving it came to a stop. And he said, Young man, I say to you, Get up.

¹⁵ And the dead man got up, and words came from his lips. And he gave him to his mother.

¹⁶ And fear came on all, and they gave praise to God, saying, A great prophet is among us: and, God has given thought to his people.

¹⁷ And this story about him went through all Judaea and the places round about.

⁹ And Jesus hearing this wondered at him, and turning to the crowd following him said, I say to you, Not even in Israel have I found so great faith.

¹⁰ And they who had been sent returning to the house found the bondman, who was ill, in good health.

¹¹ And it came to pass afterwards he went into a city called Nain, and many of his disciples and a great crowd went with him.

¹² And as he drew near to the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was carried out, the only son of his mother, and she a widow, and a very considerable crowd of the city was with her.

¹³ And the Lord, seeing her, was moved with compassion for her, and said to her, Weep not;

¹⁴ and coming up he touched the bier, and the bearers stopped. And he said, Youth, I say to thee, Wake up.

¹⁵ And the dead sat up and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.

¹⁶ And fear seized on all, and they glorified God, saying, A great prophet has been raised up amongst us; and God has visited his people.

¹⁷ And this report went out in all Judaea concerning him, and in all the surrounding country.

⁹ Which Jesus hearing, marvelled: and turning about to the multitude that followed him, he said: Amen I say to you, I have not found so great faith, not even in Israel.

⁹ Well upon hearing these things Jesus marveled at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, “I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith!”

¹⁰ When those who were sent returned to the house they found that the slave who had been sick was well.

¹¹ Now it happened on the next day that He went to a town called Nain, and many of His disciples went with Him, also a large crowd.

¹² But as He approached the town gate, mercy, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; a large crowd from the town was with her.

¹³ When the Lord saw her He had compassion on her and said to her, “Don't cry!”

¹⁴ And advancing He took hold of the bier and the bearers stood still. Then He said, “Young man, to you I say, get up!”

¹⁵ So the dead man sat up and began to talk! Yes, He gave him back to his mother.

¹⁶ Fear took hold of all, and they began glorifying God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited His people!”

¹⁷ And this report about Him went throughout Judea, as well as all the surrounding region.

⁹ When Jesus heard this he was astounded. He turned to the crowd that was following him, and said, “I tell you, I haven't found trust like this even in Israel.”

¹⁰ Then the centurion's friends returned to the house and found the servant in good health.

¹¹ Soon after Jesus went to a town called Nain, accompanied by his disciples and a large crowd.

¹² As he approached the town gate a funeral procession was coming the other way. The man who had died was the only son of a widow, and a sizeable crowd from the town was with her.

¹³ When the Lord saw her he was filled with compassion for her. “Don't cry,” he told her.

¹⁴ Jesus went over to the coffin and touched it, and the pall-bearers stopped. Jesus said, “Young man, I tell you, get up.”

¹⁵ The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.

¹⁶ A sense of awe filled everyone there and they praised God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us,” and “God has visited his people.”

¹⁷ News about Jesus spread throughout Judea, and all around.

⁹ When Iesus heard these things, he marueiled at him, and turned him, and said to the people, that followed him, I say vnto you, I haue not found so great faith, no not in Israel.

¹⁰ And when they that were sent, turned backe to the house, they founde the seruant that was sicke, whole.

¹¹ And it came to passe the day after, that he went into a citie called Nain, and many of his disciples went with him, and a great multitude.

¹² Nowe when hee came neere to the gate of the citie, behold, there was a dead man caried out, who was the onely begotten sonne of his mother, which was a widowe, and much people of the citie was with her.

¹³ And when the Lord sawe her, he had compassion on her, and said vnto her, Weepe not.

¹⁴ And he went and touched the coffin (and they that bare him, stoode still) and he said, Yong man, I say vnto thee, Arise.

¹⁵ And he that was dead, sate vp, and began to speake, and he deliuered him to his mother.

¹¹ Jesus and his followers went to a town called Nain. A big mob of other people went with him.

¹² Just before that, a young man in that town died. He was the only son of his mother, and her husband was already dead, so she had nobody left to look after her. That mother, and a big mob of people, were taking him out of the town on a stretcher, to bury him. And at that same time, Jesus was going into the town on the same road.

¹³ Jesus saw the mother, and he felt very sorry for her. He told her, “Don’t cry.”

¹⁴ Then he walked over to the stretcher and touched it, and the men that were carrying it stopped. Jesus said, “Young man, listen to me. Get up.”

¹⁵ Then the dead boy sat up and started to talk. And Jesus told him to go back to his mother.

¹⁶ Everyone that saw this was frightened. They said, “God is really great and powerful. One of his men has come to us to tell us his word and show us his power. God has come to help his people.”

¹⁷ Then went and told lots of other people what they saw, so people everywhere in Judea country heard that story.

⁹ When Iesus herde this he merveyled at him and turned him about and sayd to the people that folowed him: I saye vnto you I have not founde so greate faith noo not in Israel.

¹⁰ And they that were sent turned backe home agayne and founde the servaunt that was sicke whoole.

¹¹ And it fortuned after that that he went into a cite called Naim and many of his disciples went with him and moche people.

¹² When he came nye to the gate of the cite: beholde ther was a deed man caried out which was the only sonne of his mother and she was a widowe and moche people of the cite was with her.

¹³ And when the lorde sawe her he had compassion on her and sayde vnto her: wepe not.

¹⁴ And he went and touched the coffyn and they that bare him stode still. And he sayde: Yonge man I saye vnto the aryse.

¹⁵ And the deed sate vp and beganne to speake. And he delyvered him to his mother.

¹⁶ And ther came a feare on the all. And they glorified god sayinge: a greate prophet is rysen amonge vs and god hath visited his people

¹⁷ And this rumor of him wet forthe throughout all Iurie and thorowout all the regions which lye rounde about.

¹⁴ And he came and touched the bier: And they that bore him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, Arise.

¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak, and he delivered him to his mother.

¹⁶ And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet hath risen among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

¹⁷ And this rumor of him went forth throughout all Judea, and throughout all the neighboring region.

⁹ When Yeshua heard these things, he marveled at him, and turned and said to the multitude who followed him, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith, no, not in Israel.”

¹⁰ Those who were sent, returning to the house, found that the servant who had been sick was well.

¹¹ Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him.

¹² Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.

¹³ When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.”

¹⁴ He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!”

¹⁶ Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!”

¹² And when he came nigh to the gate of the city, lo! the son of a woman that had no more children or an only son of his mother, was borne out dead; and this was a widow; and much people of the city was with her.

¹³ And when the Lord Jesus had seen her, he had ruth or he moved by mercy on her, and said to her, Do not thou weep.

¹⁴ And he came nigh, and touched the bier; and they that bare the bier stood. And he said, Young man, I say to thee, rise up.

¹⁵ And he that was dead sat up again or sat up, and began to speak; and he gave him to his mother.

¹⁶ And dread took all men, and they magnified God, and said, For a great prophet is risen among us, and, For God hath visited his people.

¹⁷ And this word went out of him into all Judea, and into all the country about.

⁹ And when this thing was heard, Jesus wondered; and he turned, and said to the people (pur)suing him, Truly I say to you, neither in Israel (have) I found so great faith, or not in Israel (have) I found so great faith, (or and he turned, and said to the people following him, I tell you the truth, I have not found such great faith in Israel).

¹⁰ And they that were sent, turned again home, and found the servant whole, that was sick. (And they who were sent, returned home, and found the servant healed, who was sick.)

⁹ And whanne this thing was herd, Jhesus wondride; and seide to the puple suynge hym, Treuli Y seie to you, nether in Israel Y foond so greet feith.

¹⁰ And thei that weren sent, turneden ayen home, and founden the seruaunt hool, which was sijk.

¹¹ And it was don aftirward, Jhesus wente in to a citee, that is clepid Naym, and hise disciplis; and ful greet puple wente with hym.

¹² And whanne he cam nyy to the yate of the citee, lo! the sone of a womman that hadde no mo children, was borun out deed; and this was a widowe; and myche puple of the citee with hir.

¹³ And whanne the Lord Jhesu hadde seyn hir, he hadde reuthe on hir, and seide to hir, Nyle thou wepe.

¹⁴ And he cam nyy, and touchide the beere; and thei that baren stoden. And he seide, Yonge man, Y seie to thee, rise vp.

¹⁵ And he that was deed sat vp ayen, and bigan to speke; and he yaf hym to his modir.

¹⁶ And drede took alle men, and thei magnyfieden God, and seiden, For a grete profete is rysun among vs, and, For God hath visitid his puple.

¹⁷ And this word wente out of hym in to al Judee, and in to al the cuntre aboute.

⁹ And having heard these things Jesus wondered at him, and having turned to the multitude following him, he said, 'I say to you, not even in Israel so much faith did I find;'

¹⁰ and those sent, having turned back to the house, found the ailing servant in health.

¹¹ And it came to pass, on the morrow, he was going on to a city called Nain, and there were going with him many of his disciples, and a great multitude,

¹² and as he came nigh to the gate of the city, then, lo, one dead was being carried forth, an only son of his mother, and she a widow, and a great multitude of the city was with her.

¹³ And the Lord having seen her, was moved with compassion towards her, and said to her, 'Be not weeping;'

¹⁴ and having come near, he touched the bier, and those bearing it stood still, and he said, 'Young man, to thee I say, Arise;'

¹⁵ and the dead sat up, and began to speak, and he gave him to his mother;

¹⁶ and fear took hold of all, and they were glorifying God, saying — 'A great prophet hath risen among us,' and — 'God did look upon His people.'

¹⁷ And the account of this went forth in all Judea about him, and in all the region around.
