⁴ And Jesus answered unto him, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone.

⁵ And he led him up, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁶ And the devil said unto him, To thee will I give all this authority, and the glory of them: for it hath been delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

⁷ If thou therefore wilt worship before me, it shall all be thine.

⁸ And Jesus answered and said unto him, It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

⁹ And he led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

¹⁰ for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee, to guard thee:

¹¹ and, On their hands they shall bear thee up, Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone.

¹² And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.

¹³ And when the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him for a season.

¹⁴ And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a fame went out concerning him through all the region round about.

¹⁵ And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

⁴ Jesus replied, “ No, I will not change stones into bread, because it is written { Moses wrote} in the Scriptures that eating food sustains people physically, but it does not sustain them spiritually. They also need food for their spirits.”

⁵ Then the devil took him on top of a high mountain and showed him in an instant all the nations in the world.

⁶ Then he said to Jesus, “I will give you the authority to rule all these areas and will make you famous. I can do this because God has permitted me to control these areas, and I can allow anyone I desire to rule them!

⁷ So if you worship me, I will let you rule them all!”

⁸ But Jesus replied, “ No, I will not worship you, because it is written { the Psalmist wrote} in the Scriptures, ‘It is the Lord, your God, whom you must worship, and you must serve only him!’ ”

⁹ Then the devil took Jesus to Jerusalem. He set him on the highest part of the Temple and said to him, “Because you claim that you ◄ have a relationship with God as a son has with his father MET/are the man who is both God and man►, prove it by jumping down from here.

¹⁰ You will not be hurt, because it is written {the Psalmist wrote} in the Scriptures, ‘God will command his angels to protect you (sg).

¹¹ They will lift you up with their hands when you are falling, so that you will not get hurt. You will not even strike your foot on a stone.’ ”

¹² But Jesus replied, “ No, I will not do that, because it is written { Moses wrote} in the Scriptures: ‘Do not try to test the Lord your God to see if he will prevent something bad from happening to you when you do something foolish’.”

¹³ Then, after the devil had finished trying to tempt Jesus in many ways, he left him. He wanted to try to tempt him later at an appropriate time.

¹⁴ As the Spirit empowered him, Jesus returned to Galilee district. People throughout all that region heard about what he was doing.

¹⁵ He taught people in their ◄synagogues/meeting places►. As a result, he was praised by everyone {everyone praised him}.

⁴ Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”

⁵ The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁶ The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority and their glory, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I want.

⁷ If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”

⁸ Jesus answered him, “Get behind me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve him only.’”

⁴ And Jesus made answer to him, It has been said in the Writings, Bread is not man's only need.

⁵ And he took him up and let him see all the kingdoms of the earth in a minute of time.

⁶ And the Evil One said, I will give you authority over all these, and the glory of them, for it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone at my pleasure.

⁷ If then you will give worship to me, it will all be yours.

⁸ And Jesus in answer said to him, It has been said in the Writings, Give worship to the Lord your God, and be his servant only.

⁹ And he took him to Jerusalem and put him on the highest point of the Temple and said to him, If you are the Son of God, let yourself go down from here; for it is said in the Writings,

¹⁰ He will give his angels orders to take care of you:

¹¹ And, In their hands they will keep you up, so that your foot may not be crushed against a stone.

¹² And Jesus made answer and said to him, It is said in the Writings, You may not put the Lord your God to the test.

¹³ And when all these tests were ended the Evil One went away from him for a time.

¹⁴ And Jesus came back to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and the news of him went through all the country round about.

¹⁵ And he was teaching in their Synagogues and all men gave him praise.

⁴ And Jesus answered unto him saying, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

⁵ And the devil, leading him up into a high mountain, shewed him all the kingdoms of the habitable world in a moment of time.

⁶ And the devil said to him, I will give thee all this power, and their glory; for it is given up to me, and to whomsoever I will I give it.

⁷ If therefore thou wilt do homage before me, all of it shall be thine.

⁸ And Jesus answering him said, It is written, Thou shalt do homage to the Lord thy God, and him alone shalt thou serve.

⁹ And he led him to Jerusalem, and set him on the edge of the temple, and said to him, If thou be Son of God, cast thyself down hence;

¹⁰ for it is written, He shall give charge to his angels concerning thee to keep thee;

¹¹ and on their hands shall they bear thee, lest in any wise thou strike thy foot against a stone.

¹² And Jesus answering said to him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

¹³ And the devil, having completed every temptation, departed from him for a time.

¹⁴ And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee; and a rumour went out into the whole surrounding country about him;

¹⁵ and he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

⁴ And Jesus answered him: It is written, that Man liveth not by bread alone, but by every word of God.

⁵ And the devil led him into a high mountain, and shewed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time;

⁶ And he said to him: To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them.

⁷ If thou therefore wilt adore before me, all shall be thine.

⁸ And Jesus answering said to him: It is written: Thou shalt adore the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

⁹ And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and he said to him: If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself from hence.

¹⁰ For it is written, that He hath given his angels charge over thee, that they keep thee.

¹¹ And that in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest perhaps thou dash thy foot against a stone.

¹² And Jesus answering, said to him: It is said: Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

¹³ And all the temptation being ended, the devil departed from him for a time.

¹⁴ And Jesus returned in the power of the spirit, into Galilee, and the fame of him went out through the whole country.

¹⁵ And he taught in their synagogues, and was magnified by all.

⁴ But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’ ”

⁵ Then the devil, leading Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁶ And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; because it has been given to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.

⁷ Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.”

⁵ And taking Him up on a high mountain, the devil showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁶ The devil said to Him: “To you I will give all this authority, and their glory, because it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I want to.

⁷ So you, if you would worship before me, all will be yours.”

⁸ In answer Jesus said to him: “Get behind me, Satan! It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only shall you serve!’ ”

⁹ He also took Him to Jerusalem and set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him: “Since you are Son of God, throw yourself down from here;

¹⁰ because it is written, ‘He will give His angels orders concerning you, to protect you,’

¹¹ and, ‘They will carry you along on their hands, so you do not stub your foot on a stone.’ ”

¹² In answer Jesus said to him: “The statement stands, ‘You shall not test the Lord your God!’ ”

¹³ Having finished every test, the devil departed from Him until an opportune time.

¹⁴ Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee, and news about Him spread throughout the whole surrounding area;

¹⁵ yes, He started teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

⁴ “It is written in Scripture, ‘You shall not live on bread alone,’” Jesus answered.

⁵ The devil led him up to a high place, and in a rapid view showed him all the kingdoms of the world.

⁶ Then the devil said to Jesus, “I will give you authority over all of them, and their glory. This authority has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want.

⁷ Bow down and worship me and you can have it all.”

⁸ “It is written in Scripture, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve only him,’” Jesus replied.

⁹ The devil took Jesus to Jerusalem, set him on the top of the Temple, and told him, “If you are the Son of God, then jump!

¹⁰ For it is written in Scripture, ‘He will order his angels to care for you,

¹¹ holding you up to protect you from stumbling over a stone.’”

¹² “It is written in Scripture, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God,’” Jesus replied.

¹³ When the devil had completed all his temptations, he waited for another opportunity.

¹⁴ Jesus returned to Galilee, full of the Spirit's power. News about him spread everywhere.

¹⁵ Jesus taught in their synagogues, and everyone praised him.

⁴ But Iesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not liue by bread only, but by euery word of God.

⁵ Then the deuill tooke him vp into an high mountaine, and shewed him all the kingdomes of the world, in the twinkeling of an eye.

⁶ And the deuill saide vnto him, All this power will I giue thee, and the glory of those kingdomes: for that is deliuered to mee: and to whomsoeuer I will, I giue it.

⁷ If thou therefore wilt worship mee, they shalbe all thine.

⁸ But Iesus answered him, and saide, Hence from mee, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him alone thou shalt serue.

⁹ Then hee brought him to Hierusalem, and set him on a pinacle of the Temple, and said vnto him, If thou be the Sonne of God, cast thy selfe downe from hence,

¹⁰ For it is written, That hee will giue his Angels charge ouer thee to keepe thee:

¹¹ And with their handes they shall lift thee vp, least at any time thou shouldest dash thy foote against a stone.

¹² And Iesus answered, and said vnto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

¹³ And when the deuil had ended all the tentation, he departed from him for a litle season.

⁴ And Jesus answered him, “Scripture says — ‘It is not on bread alone that a person is to live.’”

⁵ And the devil led Jesus up, and showing him in a single moment all the kingdoms of the earth, said to him,

⁶ “I will give you all this power, and the splendour of them; for it has been given into my hands and I give it to whom I wish.

⁷ If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

⁸ And Jesus answered him, “Scripture says — ‘You should worship the Lord your God, and worship him only.’”

⁹ The devil next led him into Jerusalem, and, placing him on the parapet of the Temple, said, “If you are God's Son throw yourself down from here,

¹⁰ for scripture says — ‘He will give his angels commands about you, to guard you safely,’

¹¹ And ‘On their hands they will lift you up, otherwise you might strike your foot against a stone.’”

¹² But Jesus answered him, “It is said — ‘You must not tempt the Lord your God.’”

¹³ When he had tried every kind of temptation, the devil left Jesus, until another opportunity.

¹⁴ Moved by the power of the Spirit, Jesus returned to Galilee. Reports about him spread through all that region;

¹⁵ and he began to teach in their synagogues, and was honoured by everyone.

⁴ And Jesus answered him, “Scripture says — ‘It is not on bread alone that a person is to live.’”

⁵ And the devil led Jesus up, and showing him in a single moment all the kingdoms of the earth, said to him,

⁶ “I will give you all this power, and the splendor of them; for it has been given into my hands and I give it to whom I wish.

⁷ If you worship me, it will all be yours.”

⁸ And Jesus answered him, “Scripture says — ‘You should worship the Lord your God, and worship him only.’”

⁹ The devil next led him into Jerusalem, and, placing him on the parapet of the Temple, said, “If you are God's Son throw yourself down from here,

¹³ When he had tried every kind of temptation, the devil left Jesus, until another opportunity.

¹⁴ Moved by the power of the Spirit, Jesus returned to Galilee. Reports about him spread through all that region;

¹⁵ and he began to teach in their synagogues, and was honored by everyone.

⁴ Yeshua Salvation answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every d'var Elohim ·word of God·.’”

⁵ The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

⁶ The devil said to him, “I will give you all this authority, and their glory, for it has been delivered to me; and I give it to whomever I want.

⁷ If you therefore will worship before me, it will all be yours.”

⁸ Yeshua Salvation answered him, “Get behind me Satan Adversary! For it is written, ‘You shall worship MarYah Master Yahweh your God, and you shall serve him only.’”

⁹ He led him to Jerusalem City of peace, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Ben-Elohim ·Son of Elohim God·, cast yourself down from here,

¹⁰ for it is written, ‘He will enjoin his angels concerning you, to guard you;’

¹¹ and, ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest perhaps you dash your foot against a stone.’”

¹² Yeshua Salvation answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt Yahweh your God.’”

¹³ When the devil had completed every temptation, he departed from him until another time.

¹⁴ Yeshua Salvation teshuvah ·completely returned· in the power of haRuach the Spirit into Galilee District, Circuit, and news about him spread through all the surrounding area.

¹⁵ He taught in their synagogues, being glorified by all.

¹⁴ The Holy Spirit made Jesus very powerful, and he went back to Galilee country. The people that saw him kept telling other people about him, and they told other people, so that soon everyone there heard the news about him.

¹⁵ He went to the Jewish meeting houses ever week and taught people about God. They were all happy with him.

⁴ And Iesus answered hym sayinge: It is written: man shall not live by breed only but by every worde of God.

⁵ And the devyll toke him vp into an hye moutayne and shewed him all the kyngdoms of the worlde even in the twincklinge of an eye.

⁶ And the devyll sayde vnto him: all this power will I geve the every whit and the glory of them: for that is delyvered to me and to whosoever I will I geve it.

⁷ Yf thou therfore wilt worshippe me they shalbe all thyne.

⁸ Iesus answered him and sayde: hence from me Sathan. For it is written: Thou shalt honour the Lorde thy God and him only serve.

⁹ And he caryed him to Ierusalem and set him on a pynacle of the temple and sayd vnto him: Yf thou be the sonne of God cast thy silfe doune from hens.

¹¹ and with there hondis they shall stey the vp that thou dasshe not thy fote agaynst a stone.

¹² Iesus answered and sayde to him it is sayd: thou shalt not tempte the Lorde thy God.

¹³ Assone as the devyll had ended all his temptacions he departed from him for a season.

¹⁴ And Iesus retourned by the power of the sprete in to Galile and there went a fame of him thorowe oute all the region roude aboute.

¹⁵ And he taught in their synagoges and was commended of all men.

⁴ Jesus answered him, “It is written, 'Man does not live on bread alone.'”

⁵ Then the devil led Jesus up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in an instant of time.

⁶ The devil said to him, “I will give to you all this authority and all their splendor, for they have been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want.

⁷ So then, if you will bow down and worship me, it will be yours.”

⁸ But Jesus answered and said to him, “It is written, 'You will worship the Lord your God, and you will serve only him.'”

⁹ Then the devil led Jesus to Jerusalem and put him on the very highest point of the temple building, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here.

¹⁰ For it is written, 'He will give orders to his angels regarding you, to protect you,'

¹¹ and, 'They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'”

¹² Answering him, Jesus said, “It is said, 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'”

¹³ When the devil had finished testing Jesus, he went away and left him until another time.

¹⁴ Then Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread throughout the entire surrounding region.

¹⁵ Then he began to teach in their synagogues and he was praised by all.

⁴ Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’”

⁵ The devil, leading him up on a high mountain, showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

¹⁴ And Jesus turned again in the virtue of the Spirit into Galilee, and the fame went forth of him through all the country.

¹⁵ And he taught in the synagogues of them, and was magnified of all men.

⁴ And Jesus answered to him, It is written, That a man liveth not in bread alone, but in every word of God. (And Jesus answered him, It is written, A man liveth not by bread alone, but by every word from God.)

¹³ And when every temptation was ended, the fiend or the devil went away from him for a time. (And when every test was ended, the Devil went away from him for a while.)

¹⁴ And Jesus turned again in the virtue of the Spirit into Galilee, and the fame went forth of him through all the country. (And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and the story about him went forth throughout all the land.)

¹⁵ And he taught in the synagogues of them, and was magnified of all men. (And he taught in their synagogues, and was praised by everyone.)

⁴ And Jhesus answeride to hym, It is writun, That a man lyueth not in breed aloone, but in euery word of God.

⁵ And the deuel ladde hym in to an hiy hil, and schewide to hym alle the rewmes of the world in a moment of tyme;

⁶ and seide to hym, Y schal yyue to thee al this power, and the glorie of hem, for to me thei ben youun, and to whom Y wole, Y yyue hem;

⁷ therfor if thou falle doun, and worschipe bifore me, alle thingis schulen be thine.

⁸ And Jhesus answeride, and seide to hym, It is writun, Thou schalt worschipe thi Lord God, and to hym aloone thou schalt serue.

⁹ And he ledde hym in to Jerusalem, and sette hym on the pynacle of the temple, and seide to hym, If thou art Goddis sone, sende thi silf fro hennes doun;

¹⁰ for it is writun, For he hath comaundide to hise aungels of thee, that thei kepe thee in alle thi weies,

¹¹ and that thei schulen take thee in hondis, lest perauenture thou hirte thi foote at a stoon.

¹³ And whanne euery temptacioun was endid, the feend wente a wei fro hym for a tyme.

¹⁴ And Jhesus turnede ayen in the vertu of the spirit in to Galilee, and the fame wente forth of hym thorou al the cuntre.

¹⁵ And he tauyte in the synagogis of hem, and was magnyfied of alle men.

⁴ And Jesus answered him, saying, 'It hath been written, that, not on bread only shall man live, but on every saying of God.'

¹⁰ for it hath been written — To His messengers He will give charge concerning thee, to guard over thee,

¹¹ and — On hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou mayest dash against a stone thy foot.'

¹² And Jesus answering said to him — 'It hath been said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.'

¹³ And having ended all temptation, the Devil departed from him till a convenient season.

¹⁴ And Jesus turned back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and a fame went forth through all the region round about concerning him,

¹⁵ and he was teaching in their synagogues, being glorified by all.
