⁴⁷ and all that heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

⁴⁸ And when they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said unto him, Son, why hast thou thus dealt with us? behold, thy father and I sought thee sorrowing.

⁴⁹ And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? knew ye not that I must be in my Father’s house?

⁵⁰ And they understood not the saying which he spake unto them.

⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth; and he was subject unto them: and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

⁴⁷ And all that heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

⁴⁷ Everyone who heard what he said was amazed at how much he understood and how well he answered the questions that the teachers asked.

⁴⁸ When his parents saw him, they were very surprised. His mother said to him, “My son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been very worried as we (exc) have been searching for you!”

⁴⁹ He said to them, speaking about the Temple being God his Father's house, “◄I am surprised that you (dl) did not know where to find me!/Why did you not know where to find me?► RHQ ◄You (dl) should have known that it was necessary for me to be in my Father's house!/Did you not know that it was necessary for me to be in my Father's house?► RHQ”

⁵⁰ But they did not understand the meaning of what he said to them.

⁵¹ Then he returned with them down to Nazareth. He always obeyed them. But his mother kept thinking about all those things.

⁴⁷ All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

⁴⁸ When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”

⁴⁹ He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”

⁵⁰ They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

⁴⁸ And when they saw him they were surprised, and his mother said to him, Son, why have you done this to us? see, your father and I have been looking for you with sorrow.

⁴⁹ And he said to them, Why were you looking for me? was it not clear to you that my right place was in my Father's house?

⁵⁰ And his words seemed strange to them.

⁵¹ And he went down with them and came to Nazareth; and did as he was ordered: and his mother kept all these words in her heart.

⁴⁷ And all who heard him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

⁴⁸ And when they saw him they were amazed: and his mother said to him, Child, why hast thou dealt thus with us? behold, thy father and I have sought thee distressed.

⁴⁹ And he said to them, Why is it that ye have sought me? did ye not know that I ought to be occupied in my Father's business?

⁵⁰ And they understood not the thing that he said to them.

⁵¹ And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and he was in subjection to them. And his mother kept all these things in her heart.

⁴⁷ And all that heard him were astonished at his wisdom and his answers.

⁴⁸ And seeing him, they wondered. And his mother said to him: Son, why hast thou done so to us? behold thy father and I have sought thee sorrowing.

⁴⁹ And he said to them: How is it that you sought me? did you not know, that I must be about my father’s business?

⁵⁰ And they understood not the word that he spoke unto them.

⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And his mother kept all these words in her heart.

⁴⁸ And when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Child, why have You treated us this way? Look, Your father and I were seeking You anxiously.”

⁴⁹ And He said to them, “Why is it that you were seeking Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father's business?”

⁵⁰ But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.

⁵¹ Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And His mother kept all these things in her heart.

⁴⁸ So upon seeing Him they were amazed, and His mother said to Him: “Son, why have you treated us like this? Look, your father and I have been searching for you in distress.”

⁴⁹ So He said to them: “Why were you seeking me? Didn't you know that I must be about my Father's concerns?”

⁵⁰ But they did not understand the statement that He made to them.

⁵¹ Then He went down with them and came to Natsareth, and continued subordinating Himself to them; His mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

⁴⁷ All who heard him speak were surprised by his understanding and his answers.

⁴⁸ His parents were totally confused when they saw what he was doing. His mother asked him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I—we've been worried sick! We've been looking everywhere for you!”

⁴⁹ “Why is it that you were looking for me?” Jesus replied. “Didn't you know I should be here in my Father's house?”

⁵⁰ But they didn't understand what he meant.

⁵¹ Then he went back with them to Nazareth, and did what he was told. His mother kept a careful note of everything that happened.

⁴⁷ And all that heard him, were astonied at his vnderstanding and answeres.

⁴⁸ So when they sawe him, they were amased, and his mother said vnto him, Sonne, why hast thou thus dealt with vs? beholde, thy father and I haue sought thee with very heauie hearts.

⁴⁹ Then said he vnto them, Howe is it that ye sought me? knewe ye not that I must goe about my Fathers busines?

⁵⁰ But they vnderstoode not the word that he spake to them.

⁵¹ Then hee went downe with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subiect to them: and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

⁴⁷ All who listened to him marvelled at his intelligence and his answers.

⁴⁸ His parents were amazed when they saw him, and his mother said to him, “My child, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.”

⁴⁹ “What made you search for me?” he answered. “Didn't you know that I must be in my Father's house?”

⁵⁰ His parents did not understand what he meant.

⁵¹ However he went down with them to Nazareth, and submitted himself to their control; and his mother treasured all that was said in her heart.

⁴⁷ All who listened to him marveled at his intelligence and his answers.

⁴⁸ His parents were amazed when they saw him, and his mother said to him, “My child, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been searching for you in great distress.”

⁴⁹ “What made you search for me?” he answered. “Didn't you know that I must be in my Father's house?”

⁵⁰ His parents did not understand what he meant.

⁵¹ However he went down with them to Nazareth, and submitted himself to their control; and his mother treasured all that was said in her heart.

⁴⁷ All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.

⁴⁸ When they saw him, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your 'Avikah ·your Father· and I were anxiously looking for you.”

⁴⁹ He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in 'Avi ·my Father·’s house?”

⁵⁰ They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.

⁵¹ And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth Branch, Separated one. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.

⁴⁷ The people there listened to Jesus too, and they were very surprised at the things he said. He understood so many things, and he knew the answers to all their questions.

⁴⁸ His father and mother were shocked, and Mary said, “My son, why did you do this to us? Me and your father have been worried about you. We have been looking everywhere for you for 3 days.”

⁴⁹ Jesus said, “Why did you look everywhere for me? Didn’t you know that I have to be in my father’s house?”

⁵⁰ But they didn’t understand what he meant by those words.

⁵¹ Then Jesus went with them back to Nazareth, and he always did what his mother and father told him to do. And his mother always remembered these things and thought about them.

⁴⁷ And all that hearde him mervelled at his wit and answers.

⁴⁸ And when they sawe him they were astonyed. And his mother sayde vnto him: sonne why hast thou thus dealte with vs? Beholde thy father and I have sought the sorowenge.

⁴⁹ And he sayde vnto the: how is it that ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must goo aboute my fathers busines?

⁵⁰ And they vnderstode not the sayinge that he spake to them.

⁵¹ And he went with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to the. But his mother kept all these thinges in her hert.

⁴⁸ When they saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Listen, your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”

⁴⁹ He said to them, “Why were you searching for me? Did you not know that I had to be about my Father's business?

⁵⁰ But they did not understand what he meant by those words.

⁵¹ Then he went back home with them to Nazareth and was obedient to them. His mother treasured all these things in her heart.

⁵⁰ And they understood not the word, which he spake to them.

⁵¹ And he came down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And his mother kept together all these words, and bare them in her heart.

⁴⁷ And all men that heard him, wondered on the prudence and the answers of him.

⁴⁸ And they saw (him), and wondered. And his mother said to him, Son, what hast thou done to us thus? (or Son, why hast thou done this to us?) Lo! thy father and I sorrowing have sought thee.

⁴⁹ And he said to them, What is it that ye sought me? (or Why is it that ye have searched for me?) knew ye not, that in those things that be of my Father, or knew ye not, that in those things that be my Father’s, it behooveth me to be?

⁵⁰ And they understood not the word, which he spake to them.

⁵¹ And he came down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. And his mother kept together all these words, and bare them in her heart.

⁴⁷ And alle men that herden hym, wondriden on the prudence and the answeris of hym.

⁴⁸ And thei seyn, and wondriden. And his modir seide to hym, Sone, what hast thou do to vs thus? Lo! thi fadir and Y sorewynge han souyte thee.

⁴⁹ And he seide to hem, What is it that ye souyten me? wisten ye not that in tho thingis that ben of my fadir, it behoueth me to be?

⁵⁰ And thei vndurstoden not the word, which he spak to hem.

⁵¹ And he cam doun with hem, and cam to Nazareth, and was suget to hem. And his moder kepte togidir alle these wordis, and bare hem in hir herte.

⁴⁷ and all those hearing him were astonished at his understanding and answers.

⁴⁸ And, having seen him, they were amazed, and his mother said unto him, 'Child, why didst thou thus to us? lo, thy father and I, sorrowing, were seeking thee.'

⁴⁹ And he said unto them, 'Why is it that ye were seeking me? did ye not know that in the things of my Father it behoveth me to be?'

⁵⁰ and they did not understand the saying that he spake to them,

⁵¹ and he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and he was subject to them, and his mother was keeping all these sayings in her heart,
