Luke 24:3-9 in English

³ And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it came to pass, while they were perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel:

⁵ and as they were affrighted and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

⁷ saying that the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

⁸ And they remembered his words,

⁹ and returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.

³ And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

³ They went in the tomb, but the body of the Lord Jesus was not there!

⁴ They did not know what to think about that. Then suddenly two men wearing bright shining clothes stood by them!

⁵ The women were frightened. As they prostrated themselves on the ground, the two men said to them, “◄You should not be seeking someone who is alive in a place where they bury dead people!/Why are you seeking in a place where they bury dead people someone who is alive?► RHQ

⁶ He is not here; he has ◄become alive again/risen from the dead►! Remember that while he was still with you in Galilee district he said to you,

⁷ ‘ Even though I am the one who came from heaven, someone will enable sinful men to seize MTY me. They will kill me by nailing me to a cross. But on the third day after that, I will become alive again.’ ”

⁸ The women remembered that he had said that.

⁹ So they left the tomb and went to the eleven apostles and his other disciples and told them those things.

³ They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

⁴ While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.

⁵ Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. The men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

⁶ He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

⁷ saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”

⁸ They remembered his words,

⁴ And while they were in doubt about it, they saw two men in shining clothing by them:

⁵ And while their faces were bent down to the earth in fear, these said to them, Why are you looking for the living among the dead?

⁶ He is not here, he has come back to life: have in mind what he said to you when he was still in Galilee, saying,

⁷ The Son of man will be given up into the hands of evil-doers, and be put to death on the cross, and on the third day he will come back to life.

⁸ And his words came back into their minds,

⁹ And they went away from that place and gave an account of all these things to the eleven disciples and all the others.

³ And when they had entered they found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it came to pass as they were in perplexity about it, that behold, two men suddenly stood by them in shining raiment.

⁵ And as they were filled with fear and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, Why seek ye the living one among the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spoke to you, being yet in Galilee,

⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinners, and be crucified, and rise the third day.

⁸ And they remembered his words;

⁹ and, returning from the sepulchre, related all these things to the eleven and to all the rest.

³ And going in, they found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it came to pass, as they were astonished in their mind at this, behold, two men stood by them, in shining apparel.

⁵ And as they were afraid, and bowed down their countenance towards the ground, they said unto them: Why seek you the living with the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but is risen. Remember how he spoke unto you, when he was in Galilee,

⁷ Saying: The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

⁸ And they remembered his words.

⁹ And going back from the sepulchre, they told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.

³ And going in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel.

⁵ Then, as they became afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

³ but upon entering they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that wow, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing!

⁵ Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the ground, they said to them: “Why do you seek the living One among the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He told you while still in Galilee,

⁷ saying, ‘The Son of the Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”

⁸ And they remembered His words.

⁹ Then they returned from the tomb and reported all these things to the Eleven, and to all the rest.

³ but when they went in they didn't find the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ While they were wondering what was going on, two men suddenly appeared dressed in clothes that shone brilliantly.

⁵ The women were terrified and bowed down, their faces on the ground. They said to the women, “Why are you looking for someone who is alive among the dead?

⁶ He's not here; he's risen from the dead! Remember what he told you while you were still in Galilee:

⁷ ‘The Son of man must be betrayed into the hands of evil men, be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’”

⁸ Then they remembered what he'd said.

⁹ When they returned from the tomb they reported all that had happened to the eleven disciples and to all the others.

³ And went in, but found not the body of the Lord Iesus.

⁴ And it came to passe, that as they were amased thereat, beholde, two men suddenly stood by them in shining vestures.

⁵ And as they were afraide, and bowed downe their faces to the earth, they sayd to them, Why seeke ye him that liueth, among the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake vnto you, when he was yet in Galile,

⁷ Saying, that the sonne of man must be deliuered into the hands of sinfull men, and be crucified, and the third day rise againe.

⁸ And they remembred his wordes,

⁹ And returned from the sepulchre, and tolde all these things vnto the eleuen, and to all the remnant.

³ And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinners, and be crucified, and rise again on the third day.

⁸ And they remembered his words.

⁹ And returning from the tomb, they told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.

³ and, on going into it, they could not find the body.

⁴ While they were at a loss to account for this, all at once two men stood beside them, in dazzling clothing.

⁵ But, when in their fear the women bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why are you looking amongst the dead for him who is living?

⁶ Remember how he spoke to you before he left Galilee —

⁷ How he said that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of wicked men, and be crucified, and rise again on the third day.”

⁸ Then they remembered the words of Jesus,

⁹ and, on returning from the tomb, they told all this to the Eleven and to all the rest.

³ and, on going into it, they could not find the body.

⁴ While they were at a loss to account for this, all at once two men stood beside them, in dazzling clothing.

⁵ But, when in their fear the women bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why are you looking among the dead for him who is living?

⁶ Remember how he spoke to you before he left Galilee —

⁷ How he said that the Son of Man must be betrayed into the hands of wicked men, and be crucified, and rise again on the third day.”

⁸ Then they remembered the words of Jesus,

⁹ and, on returning from the tomb, they told all this to the Eleven and to all the rest.

³ They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Yeshua Salvation's body.

⁴ While they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.

⁵ Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee District, Circuit,

⁷ saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be executed on the stake, and the third day rise again?”

⁸ They remembered his words,

⁹ teshuvah ·completely returned· from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.

³ and went in: but founde not the body of the Lorde Iesu.

⁴ And it happened as they were amased therat: Beholde two men stode by them in shynynge vestures.

⁵ And as they were a frayde and bowed doune their faces to the erth: they sayd to them: why seke ye the lyvinge amonge the deed?

⁶ He is not here: but is rysen. Remember how he spake vnto you when he was yet with you in Galile

⁷ sayinge: that the sonne of man must be delyvered into the hondes of synfull men and be crucified and the thyrde daye ryse agayne.

⁸ And they remembred his wordes

⁹ and returned from the sepulcre and tolde all these thinges vnto the eleven and to all the remanaunt.

³ They entered in, but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ It happened that, while they were confused about this, suddenly, two men stood by them in bright shining robes.

⁵ As the women were filled with fear and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said to the women, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but has been raised! Remember how he spoke to you when he was still in Galilee,

⁷ saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.”

⁵ And when they dreaded, and bowed their semblance into the earth, they said to them, What seek ye him that liveth with dead men? or What seek ye the living with the dead?

⁶ He is not here, but is risen. Have ye mind, how he spake to you, when he was yet in Galilee,

⁷ and said, For it behooveth man’s Son to be betaken into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.

⁸ And they bethought on his words.

⁹ And they went again from the grave, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the others.

³ And they went in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it was done, the while they were astonied in thought of this thing, lo! two men stood beside them in shining cloth or lo! two men stood beside them in shining clothing. (And it was done, while they were astonished in their thoughts over this, behold! two men stood beside them in shining cloaks.)

⁵ And when they dreaded, and bowed their semblance into the earth, they said to them, What seek ye him that liveth with dead men? or What seek ye the living with the dead? (And they had fear, or they were afraid, and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, Why search for him who liveth among the dead?)

⁶ He is not here, but is risen. Have ye mind, how he spake to you, when he was yet in Galilee, (or Remember, how he spoke with you, when he was still in Galilee),

⁷ and said, For it behooveth man’s Son to be betaken into the hands of sinful men, (or and said, For it behooveth man’s Son to be delivered into the hands of sinners), and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.

⁸ And they bethought on his words. (And they remembered, and thought on his words.)

⁹ And they went again from the grave (or And they went away from the tomb), and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the others.

³ And thei yeden in, and founden not the bodi of the Lord Jhesu.

⁴ And it was don, the while thei weren astonyed in thouyt of this thing, lo! twei men stoden bisidis hem in schynynge cloth.

⁵ And whanne thei dredden, and boweden her semblaunt in to the erthe, thei seiden to hem, What seken ye hym that lyueth with deed men?

⁶ He is not here, but is risun. Haue ye mynde, hou he spak to you, whanne he was yit in Galile,

⁷ and seide, For it bihoueth mannys sone to be bitakun in to the hondis of synful men, and to be crucified, and the thridde dai to rise ayen.

⁸ And thei bithouyten on hise wordis.

⁹ And thei yeden ayen fro the graue, and telden alle these thingis to the enleuene, and to alle othir.

³ and having gone in, they found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

⁴ And it came to pass, while they are perplexed about this, that lo, two men stood by them in glittering apparel,

⁵ and on their having become afraid, and having inclined the face to the earth, they said to them, 'Why do ye seek the living with the dead?

⁶ he is not here, but was raised; remember how he spake to you, being yet in Galilee,

⁷ saying — It behoveth the Son of Man to be delivered up to the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.'

⁸ And they remembered his sayings,

⁹ and having turned back from the tomb told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.
