⁵⁴ And they seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁵ And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.

⁵⁶ And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light of the fire, and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.

⁵⁷ But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.

⁵⁸ And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art one of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.

⁵⁹ And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him; for he is a Galilæan.

⁶⁰ But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.

⁶¹ And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day thou shalt deny me thrice.

⁶² And he went out, and wept bitterly.

⁶³ And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him.

⁶⁴ And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?

⁶⁵ And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.

⁶⁶ And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,

⁵⁴ Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest’s house. And Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁶ But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.

⁵⁶ As the light from the fire shone on his face, a female servant saw him and looked intently at him. She said, “This man was also with the man whom they have arrested!”

⁵⁷ But Peter denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him!”

⁵⁸ A little later someone else saw Peter and said, “You (sg) also are one of those who were with the man they arrested!” But Peter said, “Man, I am not one of them!”

⁵⁹ About an hour later someone else said emphatically about Peter, “ The way that this man speaks shows that he is from Galilee district. Certainly this man was also with the man whom they arrested, who is from Galilee!”

⁶⁰ But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you (sg) are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

⁶¹ The Lord Jesus turned around and looked right at Peter. Then Peter remembered what the Lord had said to him, “This night, before the rooster crows, you (sg) will deny three times that you know me.”

⁶² And Peter went out of the courtyard and cried very sorrowfully.

⁶³ The men who were guarding Jesus made fun of him and beat him.

⁶⁴ They put a blindfold on him and beat him again. Then they said to him, “ Because you(sg) say IRO that you are a prophet, prove it by telling us who it was that struck you!”

⁶⁵ They said many other evil things about him, insulting him.

⁶⁶ At dawn the next morning, many of the Jewish leaders gathered together. The group included the chief priests and the men who taught the Jewish laws. They took Jesus to the Jewish Council. There the men of the Council said to him,

⁵⁴ They seized him and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.

⁵⁵ When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.

⁵⁶ A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”

⁵⁷ He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”

⁵⁸ After a little while someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”

⁵⁹ After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”

⁵⁶ And a certain woman-servant, seeing him in the light of the fire, and looking at him with attention, said, This man was with him.

⁵⁷ But he said, Woman, it is not true; I have no knowledge of him.

⁵⁸ And after a little time, another saw him and said, You are one of them; and he said, Man, I am not.

⁵⁹ And after about an hour, another man said, with decision, Certainly this man was with him, for he is a Galilaean.

⁶⁰ And Peter said, Man, I have no knowledge of these things of which you are talking. And straight away, while he was saying these words, there came the cry of a cock.

⁶¹ And the Lord, turning, gave Peter a look. And the words of the Lord came to Peter's mind, how he had said, This night, before the hour of the cock's cry, you will be false to me three times.

⁶² And he went out, weeping bitterly.

⁶³ And the men in whose hands Jesus was, made sport of him and gave him blows.

⁶⁴ And, covering his eyes, they said to him, Are you prophet enough to say who gave you that blow?

⁶⁵ And they said a number of other evil things against him.

⁶⁶ And when it was day, the rulers of the people came together, with the chief priests and the scribes, and they took him before their Sanhedrin, saying,

⁵⁴ And having laid hold on him, they led him away, and they led him into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁵ And they having lit a fire in the midst of the court and sat down together, Peter sat among them.

⁵⁶ And a certain maid, having seen him sitting by the light, and having fixed her eyes upon him, said, And this man was with him.

⁵⁷ But he denied him, saying, Woman, I do not know him.

⁵⁸ And after a short time another seeing him said, And thou art of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.

⁵⁹ And after the lapse of about one hour another stoutly maintained it, saying, In truth this man also was with him, for also he is a Galilaean.

⁶⁰ And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, the cock crew.

⁶¹ And the Lord, turning round, looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him, Before the cock crow thou shalt deny me thrice.

⁶² And Peter, going forth without, wept bitterly.

⁶³ And the men who held him mocked him, beating him;

⁶⁴ and covering him up, asked him saying, Prophesy, who is it that struck thee?

⁶⁵ And they said many other injurious things to him.

⁶⁶ And when it was day, the elderhood of the people, both the chief priests and scribes, were gathered together, and led him into their council, saying,

⁵⁴ And apprehending him, they led him to the high priest’s house. But Peter followed afar off.

⁵⁵ And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were sitting about it, Peter was in the midst of them.

⁵⁶ Whom when a certain servant maid had seen sitting at the light, and had earnestly beheld him, she said: This man also was with him.

⁵⁷ But he denied him, saying: Woman, I know him not.

⁵⁸ And after a little while, another seeing him, said: Thou also art one of them. But Peter said: O man, I am not.

⁵⁹ And after the space, as it were of one hour, another certain man affirmed, saying: Of a truth, this man was also with him; for he is also a Galilean.

⁶⁰ And Peter said: Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, as he was yet speaking, the cock crew.

⁶¹ And the Lord turning looked on Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, as he had said: Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.

⁵⁷ But he denied Him, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”

⁵⁸ And after a little while another person saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!”

⁵⁹ Then after about one hour had passed, another was firmly insisting, saying, “Surely this fellow also was with Him, for he is a Galilean.”

⁶⁰ But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying!” And immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

⁶¹ And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.”

⁵⁶ As he sat there, a servant girl noticed him in the firelight, and stared directly at him and said,

⁵⁷ “This man was with him.” But Peter denied it. “Woman, I don't know him!” he said.

⁵⁸ A little later someone else looked at him and said, “You're also one of them.” “No, I'm not!” Peter replied.

⁵⁹ About an hour later, another person insisted, “I'm sure he was with him too—he's a Galilean.”

⁶⁰ “I've no idea what you're talking about!” Peter replied. Right then, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed. The Lord turned and looked at Peter.

⁶¹ And Peter remembered what the Lord had said, how he'd told him: “Before the cock crows today, you'll deny me three times.”

⁶² Peter went out and wept bitterly.

⁶³ The men guarding Jesus began to mock him and beat him.

⁶⁴ They put a blindfold on him, and then asked him, “If you can prophesy, tell us who hit you that time!”

⁶⁵ and shouted many other insults at him.

⁶⁶ Early in the morning the council of elders gathered together with the chief priests and religious teachers. Jesus was led before the council.

⁵⁴ Then tooke they him, and led him, and brought him to the hie Priestes house. And Peter followed afarre off.

⁵⁵ And when they had kindled a fire in the middes of the hall, and were set downe together, Peter also sate downe among them.

⁵⁶ And a certaine mayde behelde him as hee sate by the fire, and hauing well looked on him, said, This man was also with him.

⁵⁷ But he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.

⁵⁸ And after a little while, another man sawe him, and saide, Thou art also of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.

⁵⁹ And about the space of an houre after, a certaine other affirmed, saying. Verely euen this man was with him: for he is also a Galilean.

⁶⁰ And Peter saide, Man, I knowe not what thou sayest. And immediatly while hee yet spake, the cocke crewe.

⁶¹ Then the Lord turned backe, and looked vpon Peter: and Peter remembred the worde of the Lord, how he had said vnto him, Before the cocke crowe, thou shalt denie me thrise.

⁶³ And the men that helde Iesus, mocked him, and strooke him.

⁶⁴ And when they had blindfolded him, they smote him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophecie who it is that smote thee.

⁵⁶ Presently a maidservant saw him sitting near the blaze of the fire. She looked carefully at him and said, “Why, this man was one of his companions!”

⁵⁷ But Peter denied it. “I do not know him,” he replied.

⁵⁸ A little while afterward someone else — a man — saw him and said, “Why, you are one of them!” “No,” Peter said, “I am not.”

⁵⁹ About an hour later another man declared positively, “This man also was certainly with him. Why, he is a Galilean!”

⁶⁰ But Peter said, “I do not know what you are speaking about.” Instantly, while he was still speaking, a cock crowed.

⁶¹ And the Master turned and looked at Peter; and Peter remembered the words that the Master had said to him — “Before a cock has crowed today, you will disown me three times”;

⁶² and he went outside and wept bitterly.

⁶³ The men who held Jesus kept making sport of him and beating him.

⁶⁴ They blindfolded him and then questioned him. “Now play the prophet,” they said; “who was it that struck you?”

⁶⁵ And they heaped many other insults on him.

⁶⁶ At daybreak the the assembly of the elders of the people met — both the chief priests and the teachers of the Law — and took Jesus before their High Council.

⁵⁴ Those who had taken Jesus prisoner took him away into the house of the high priest. Peter followed at a distance.

⁶⁶ At daybreak the the assembly of the elders of the people met — both the chief priests and the teachers of the Law — and took Jesus before their High Council.

⁵⁴ They seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter Rock followed from a distance.

⁵⁵ When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and had sat down together, Peter Rock sat among them.

⁵⁶ A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”

⁵⁷ He denied Yeshua Salvation, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”

⁵⁸ After a little while someone else saw him, and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter Rock answered, “Man, I am not!”

⁵⁹ After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”

⁶⁰ But Peter Rock said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

⁵⁹ After about an hour another man insisted and said, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean.”

⁶⁰ But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying.” Immediately, while he was speaking, a rooster crowed.

⁶¹ Turning, the Lord looked at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, when he said to him, “Before a rooster crows today you will deny me three times.”

⁵⁹ And when a space was made as of one hour, another affirmed, and said, Truly this was with him; for also he is of Galilee.

⁵⁵ And when a fire was kindled in the middle of the great house, and they sat about, Peter was in the middle of them. (And when a fire was kindled in the middle of the courtyard, they sat around it, and Peter was in their midst.)

⁵⁷ and he disowned him, saying, 'Woman, I have not known him.'

⁵⁸ And after a little, another having seen him, said, 'And thou art of them!' and Peter said, 'Man, I am not.'

⁵⁹ And one hour, as it were, having intervened, a certain other was confidently affirming, saying, 'Of a truth this one also was with him, for he is also a Galilean;'

⁶⁰ and Peter said, 'Man, I have not known what thou sayest;' and presently, while he is speaking, a cock crew.

⁶¹ And the Lord having turned did look on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him — 'Before a cock shall crow, thou mayest disown me thrice;'

⁶² and Peter having gone without, wept bitterly.

⁶³ And the men who were holding Jesus were mocking him, beating him;

⁶⁴ and having blindfolded him, they were striking him on the face, and were questioning him, saying, 'Prophesy who he is who smote thee?'

⁶⁵ and many other things, speaking evilly, they spake in regard to him.

⁶⁶ And when it became day there was gathered together the eldership of the people, chief priests also, and scribes, and they led him up to their own sanhedrim,
