³⁵ And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.

³⁶ And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet; and he that hath none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.

³⁷ For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfilment.

³⁸ And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.

³⁵ And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

³⁶ Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

³⁷ For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

³⁵ Then Jesus asked all of them, “After I sent you out to other villages, and you went without taking any money or a traveling bag or extra sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They replied, “ That's right, we(exc) did not lack anything.”

³⁶ Then, to show them that now many people would oppose them, (OR, to show them that they needed to be prepared to protect themselves,) he said to them, “Now things will be different. So whoever among you has some money should take it with him. Likewise, he should take a carrying bag. Whoever does not have a sword should sell his coat and buy a sword.

³⁷ Because, I now tell you, something must happen to me to fulfill these words that a prophet wrote: ‘He was treated {They treated him} as though he were a criminal.’ Do not forget that everything that is {that they have} written about me in the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”

³⁸ One of the disciples said, “Lord, look! We (exc) have two swords!” Realizing that they did not understand the meaning of what he said, he replied to them, “That is enough talk about swords”!

³⁵ He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, bag, and sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”

³⁶ Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a bag. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.

³⁷ For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ For that which concerns me is being fulfilled.”

³⁸ They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough.”

³⁶ And he said to them, But now, he who has a money-bag, or a bag for food, let him take it: and he who has not, let him give his coat for money and get a sword.

³⁷ For I say to you that these words will be put into effect in me, And he was numbered among the evil-doers: for what has been said in the Writings about me has an end.

³⁸ And they said, Lord, here are two swords. And he said, It is enough.

³⁶ He said therefore to them, But now he that has a purse let him take it, in like manner also a scrip, and he that has none let him sell his garment and buy a sword;

³⁷ for I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned with the lawless: for also the things concerning me have an end.

³⁸ And they said, Lord, behold here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough.

³⁶ Then He said to them, “But now, he who has a money bag, let him take it, and likewise also a knapsack; and he who has no sword shall sell his garment and buy one.

³⁷ For I say to you that this which has been written must still be accomplished in Me—the saying, ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For the things concerning Me have a fulfillment.”

³⁸ So they said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.” And He said to them, “It is enough.”

³⁵ Then He said to them, “When I sent you without money bag, knapsack or sandals, did you lack anything?” And they said, “Nothing.”

³⁶ So He said to them: “But now, he who has a money bag should take it, and likewise a knapsack; and he who has no sword must sell his garment and buy one.

³⁷ Because I say to you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘And he was classed with the lawless’; and because the things concerning me have an end.”

³⁸ So they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” And He said to them, “It is enough.”

³⁵ Jesus asked them, “When I sent you out without money, without a bag, and without an extra pair of sandals, did you lack anything?” “No, nothing,” they replied.

³⁶ “But now, if you have money you should take it, as well as a bag, and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.

³⁷ I tell you that this statement in Scripture about me must be fulfilled: ‘He was counted with the wicked.’ What was said about me is now being fulfilled.”

³⁸ “Look, Lord, here are two swords,” they said. “That's enough,” he replied.

³⁵ And he saide vnto them, When I sent you without bagge, and scrip, and shooes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.

³⁶ Then he said to them, But nowe he that hath a bagge, let him take it, and likewise a scrip: and hee that hath none, let him sell his coate, and buy a sworde.

³⁷ For I say vnto you, That yet the same which is written, must be perfourmed in me, Euen with the wicked was he nombred: for doubtlesse those things which are written of me, haue an ende.

³⁸ And they said, Lord, beholde, here are two swordes. And he said vnto them, It is ynough.

³⁶ “Now, however,” he said, “he who has a purse must take it and his bag as well; and he who has not must sell his cloak and buy a sword.

³⁷ For, I tell you, that passage of scripture must be fulfilled in me, which says — ‘He was counted amongst the godless’; indeed all that refers to me is finding its fulfilment.”

³⁸ “Master,” they exclaimed, “look, here are two swords!” “Enough!” said Jesus.

³⁵ Then he said to them all, “When I sent you out as my messengers, without either purse, or bag, or sandals, were you in need of anything?” “No; nothing,” they answered.

³⁶ “Now, however,” he said, “he who has a purse must take it and his bag as well; and he who has not must sell his cloak and buy a sword.

³⁷ For, I tell you, that passage of scripture must be fulfilled in me, which says — ‘He was counted among the godless’; indeed all that refers to me is finding its fulfillment.”

³⁵ Jesus said to his followers, “Remember that time I told you to go to other communities to tell people God’s story, and I told you not to take a bag, or money or extra shoes? Did you get the things you needed anyway, at that time? Or did you go short of something?” They said, “No, we didn’t go short of anything.”

³⁶ Then Jesus said, “But it is different now. Listen, if you have a bag, or money, take it with you. And you will need a long knife to fight with, too. So if you haven’t got one, sell your coat to get some money and buy one.

³⁷ You see, something is going to happen now that is in God’s book. A long time ago God got his men to write this, ‘The people reckoned God’s man was bad, and they treated him the way they treat bad criminals.’ Listen, I’m telling you, they are going to do that now. They are going to do it to me.”

³⁸ They said, “Sir, we’ve got 2 long knives here.” Jesus said, “That’s enough. We can’t talk about it any more.”

³⁵ And he sayde vnto them: when I sent you with out wallet and scripe and shoes? lacked ye eny thinge? And they sayd no.

³⁶ And he sayde to them: but nowe he that hath a wallet let him take it vp and lykewyse his scrippe. And he that hath no swearde let him sell his coote and bye one.

³⁷ For I saye vnto you that yet that which is written must be performed in me: even with the wycked was he nombred. For those thinges which are written of me have an ende.

³⁸ And they sayde: Lorde beholde here are two sweardes. And he sayde vnto them: it is ynough.

³⁵ Then Jesus said to them, “When I sent you out without a purse, a bag of provisions, or shoes, did you lack anything?” They answered, “Nothing.”

³⁶ Then he said to them, “But now, the one who has a purse, let him take it, and also a bag of provisions. The one who does not have a sword should sell his cloak and buy one.

³⁷ For I say to you, what is written about me must be fulfilled, 'He was counted with the lawless ones.' For what is predicted about me is being fulfilled.”

³⁸ Then they said, “Lord, look! Here are two swords.” He said to them, “It is enough.”

³⁶ And thei seiden, No thing. Therfor he seide to hem, But now he that hath a sachel, take also and a scrippe; and he that hath noon, selle his coote, and bigge a swerd.

³⁷ For Y seie to you, that yit it bihoueth that thing that is writun to be fulfillid in me, And he is arettid with wickid men; for tho thingis that ben of me han ende.

³⁸ And thei seiden, Lord, lo! twei swerdis here. And he seide to hem, It is ynowy.

³⁵ And he said to them, 'When I sent you without bag, and scrip, and sandals, did ye lack anything?' and they said, 'Nothing.'

³⁶ Then said he to them, 'But, now, he who is having a bag, let him take it up, and in like manner also a scrip; and he who is not having, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword,

³⁷ for I say to you, that yet this that hath been written it behoveth to be fulfilled in me: And with lawless ones he was reckoned, for also the things concerning me have an end.'

³⁸ And they said, 'Sir, lo, here are two swords;' and he said to them, 'It is sufficient.'
