³⁴ And Jesus said unto them, The sons of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

³⁵ but they that are accounted worthy to attain to that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:

³⁶ for neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the place concerning the Bush, when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living: for all live unto him.

³⁹ And certain of the scribes answering said, Teacher, thou hast well said.

⁴⁰ For they durst not any more ask him any question.

⁴¹ And he said unto them, How say they that the Christ is David’s son?

⁴² For David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

⁴³ Till I make thine enemies the footstool of thy feet.

⁴⁴ David therefore calleth him Lord, and how is he his son?

³⁴ Jesus replied to them, “Men who live here in this world take wives, or are given wives by their parents {their parents choose wives for them}.

³⁵ But the men whom God considers worthy of being in heaven after they become alive again will not be married.

³⁶ You need to know also that they cannot die anymore, because they will be immortal SIM like angels. The fact that God has caused them to be alive again will show that they are God's children.

³⁷ But as for people becoming alive again after they die, Moses wrote something about that. In the place where he wrote about the burning bush, he mentions the Lord as being the God whom Abraham worships and the God whom Isaac worships and the God whom Jacob worships.

³⁸ It is not dead people who worship God. It is living people who worship him. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob died long before Moses lived, but God said that they were still worshipping him, so we(inc) know their spirits were still alive! All people whose spirits are alive again after they die continue to live to honor God!”

³⁹ Some of the men who taught the Jewish laws replied, “Teacher, you (sg) have answered very well!”

⁴⁰ After that, they no longer dared to ask him any more questions like that to try to trap him.

⁴¹ Then Jesus said to them, “I will show you (OR, prove to you) that people are wrong who say that the Messiah is merely a descendant of King David! RHQ

⁴² Because David himself wrote about the Messiah in the book of Psalms, God said to my Lord, Sit here beside me on my right, where I will highly honor you(sg) MTY.

⁴³ Sit here while I completely defeat your enemies.

⁴⁴ King David calls the Messiah ‘ my Lord’! So ◄ the Messiah cannot be just someone descended from King David!/how can the Messiah be just someone descended from King David?► RHQ What I just said proves that he is much greater than David, isn't that right?”

³⁴ Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.

³⁶ And death has no more power over them, for they are equal to the angels, and are sons of God, being of those who will come back from the dead.

³⁷ But even Moses made it clear that the dead come back to life, saying, in the story of the burning thorn-tree, The Lord, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.

³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead but of the living: for all men are living to him.

³⁹ And some of the scribes, in answer to this, said, Master, you have said well.

⁴⁰ And they had fear of putting any more questions to him.

⁴¹ And he said to them, Why do they say that the Christ is the son of David?

⁴² For David himself says in the book of Psalms, The Lord said to my Lord, Take your seat at my right hand,

⁴³ Till I put under your feet all those who are against you.

⁴⁴ David then gives him the name of Lord, so how is it possible for him to be his son?

³⁴ And Jesus said to them, The sons of this world marry and are given in marriage,

³⁵ but they who are counted worthy to have part in that world, and the resurrection from among the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;

³⁶ for neither can they die any more, for they are equal to angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

³⁷ But that the dead rise, even Moses shewed in the section of the bush, when he called the Lord the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob;

³⁸ but he is not God of the dead but of the living; for all live for him.

³⁹ And some of the scribes answering said, Teacher, thou hast well spoken.

⁴⁰ For they did not dare any more to ask him anything.

⁴¹ And he said to them, How do they say that the Christ is David's son,

³⁷ Now even Moses revealed that the dead are raised, in the burning bush passage, when he called the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

³⁸ For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all are alive to Him.”

³⁹ Then some of the scribes answered and said, “Teacher, You have spoken well.”

⁴⁰ But after that they dared not question Him anymore.

⁴¹ And He said to them, “How is it that they say the Christ is the Son of David?

⁴² Even David himself said in the Book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand,

⁴³ till I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.” ’

⁴⁴ Therefore David calls Him ‘Lord’; how is He then his Son?”

³⁴ So in answer Jesus said to them: “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage;

³⁵ but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age, to the resurrection from among the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage.

³⁶ Because they cannot die anymore, being like angels—they are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, Moses indeed revealed about the Bush when he recorded: ‘The Lord, the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.’

³⁸ So He is not the God of the dead, but of the living—to Him all are alive.”

³⁹ Then some of the scribes answered and said, “Teacher, you spoke well.”

⁴⁰ And they no longer dared to question Him further.

⁴¹ Then He said to them: “How is it that they say that the Messiah is David's Son?

⁴² Why David himself affirms in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord: sit at my right hand

⁴³ until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.’

⁴⁴ Since David calls Him ‘Lord’, how then is He his Son?”

³⁴ “Here in this age people marry and are given in marriage,” Jesus explained.

³⁵ “But those who are considered worthy to share in the age to come and the resurrection from the dead don't marry or are given in marriage.

³⁶ They can't die any longer; they're like the angels and are children of God since they're children of the resurrection.

³⁷ But on the question of whether the dead are raised, even Moses proved this when he wrote about the burning bush, when he calls the Lord, ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

³⁸ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for to him they all are alive.”

³⁹ Some of the religious teachers responded, “That was a good answer, Teacher.”

⁴⁰ After this no one dared to ask him any more questions.

⁴¹ Then Jesus asked them, “Why is it said that Christ is the son of David?

⁴² For David himself says in the book of Psalms: The Lord said to my Lord, ‘Sit at my right hand

⁴³ until I make all your enemies a footstool for your feet.’

⁴⁴ David calls him ‘Lord,’ so how can he be David's son?”

³⁴ Then Iesus answered, and sayd vnto them, The children of this world marry wiues, and are married.

³⁵ But they which shalbe counted worthy to enioy that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry wiues, neither are married.

³⁶ For they can die no more, forasmuch as they are equall vnto the Angels, and are the sonnes of God, since they are the children of the resurrection.

³⁷ And that the dead shall rise againe, euen Moses shewed it besides the bush, when he said, The Lord is the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob.

³⁸ For he is not the God of the dead, but of them which liue: for all liue vnto him.

³⁹ Then certaine of the Scribes answered, and sayd, Master, thou hast well sayd.

⁴⁰ And after that, durst they not aske him any thing at all.

⁴¹ Then sayd he vnto them, Howe say they that Christ is Dauids sonne?

⁴² And Dauid himselfe sayth in the booke of the Psalmes, The Lord sayd vnto my Lord, Sit at my right hand,

⁴³ Till I shall make thine enemies thy footestoole.

⁴⁴ Seeing Dauid called him Lord, howe is he then his sonne?

³⁴ And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage:

³⁴ Yeshua Salvation said to them, “The children of this age marry, and are given in marriage.

³⁵ But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage.

³⁶ For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels, and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, even Moses Drawn out showed at the bush, when Yahweh said ‘The God of Abraham Father of a multitude, the God of Isaac Laughter, and the God of Jacob Supplanter.’

³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”

³⁹ Some of the Torah-Teachers answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”

⁴⁰ They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.

⁴¹ He said to them, “Why do they say that the Messiah Anointed one is David Beloved’s son?

⁴² For David Beloved himself says in the book of Psalms,

⁴³ ‘Yahweh said to adoni my Lord, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’

⁴⁴ “David Beloved therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”

³⁴ Iesus answered and sayde vnto them. The chyldre of this worlde mary wyves and are maryed

³⁵ but they which shalbe made worthy to enioye that worlde and the resurreccion from deeth nether mary wyves nether are maryed

³⁶ nor yet can dye eny moare. For they are equall vnto the angels: and are the sonnes of God in as moche as they are the chyldre of the resurreccion.

³⁷ And that the deed shall ryse agayne even Moses signified besydes the busshe when he sayde: the Lorde God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Iacob.

³⁸ For he is not the God of the deed but of them which live. For all live in him.

³⁹ Then certayne of the Pharises answered and sayde: Master thou hast well sayde.

⁴⁰ And after that durst they not axe him eny question at all.

⁴¹ Then sayde he vnto them: how saye they that Christ is Davids sonne?

⁴² And David him selfe sayth in the boke of the Psalmes: The Lorde sayde vnto my Lorde syt on my right honde

⁴³ tyll I make thine enemys thy fothe stole.

⁴⁴ Seinge David calleth him Lorde: How is he then his sonne.

³⁴ Jesus said to them, “The sons of this world marry and are given in marriage.

³⁵ But those who are regarded as worthy in that age to receive the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage.

³⁶ Neither can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

³⁵ But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage.

³⁶ For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.

³⁷ But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

³⁸ Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”

³⁹ Some of the scribes answered, “Rabbi, you speak well.”

⁴⁰ They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.

⁴¹ He said to them, “Why do they say that the Messiah is David’s son?

⁴² David himself says in the scroll of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,

⁴³ until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’

⁴⁴ “David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”

³⁴ Yeshua said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage.

⁴⁴ Therefore David calleth him Lord, and how is he his son?

³⁴ And Jesus said to them, Sons of this world wed, and be given to weddings;

³⁵ but they that shall be had worthy of that world, and of the rising again from death (or and of the resurrection from the dead), neither be wedded, nor wed wives,

³⁶ neither they shall be able to die more; for they be even with (the) angels, and be the sons of God, since they be the sons of the rising again from death. (nor shall they be able to die any longer; for they be equal with the angels, and be the children of God, since they be the children of the resurrection.)

³⁹ And some of the scribes answering, said, Master, thou hast well said, (or Teacher, thou hast answered well).

⁴⁰ And they durst no more ask him anything. (And they did not dare to ask him anything more.)

⁴¹ But he said to them, How say men, Christ to be the son of David, Forsooth he said to them, How say men, that Christ is the son of David, (And he said to them, How can men say, that the Messiah is the Son of David?)

⁴² and David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right half, (For David himself said in the Book of Psalms, The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, or on my right side,)

⁴³ till I put thine enemies a stool of thy feet? (until I make thine enemies thy footstool.)

⁴⁴ Therefore David calleth him Lord, and how is he his son? (And so if David calleth him Lord, then how is he his son?)

³⁴ And Jhesus seide to hem, Sones of this world wedden, and ben youun to weddyngis;

³⁵ but thei that schulen be had worthi of that world, and of the `risyng ayen fro deeth, nethir ben wedded,

³⁶ nethir wedden wyues, nethir schulen mowe die more; for thei ben euen with aungels, and ben the sones of God, sithen thei ben the sones of `risyng ayen fro deeth.

³⁷ And that deed men risen ayen, also Moises schewide bisidis the busch, as he seith, The Lord God of Abraham, and God of Ysaac, and God of Jacob.

³⁸ And God is not of deed men, but of lyuynge men; for alle men lyuen to hym.

³⁹ And summe of scribis answeringe, seiden, Maistir, thou hast wel seid.

⁴⁰ And thei dursten no more axe hym ony thing.

⁴¹ But he seide to hem, How seien men, Crist to be the sone of Dauid,

⁴² and Dauid hym silf seith in the book of Salmes, The Lord seide to my lord, Sitte thou on my riythalf,

⁴³ til that Y putte thin enemyes a stool of thi feet?

⁴⁴ Therfor Dauid clepith hym lord, and hou is he his sone?

³⁴ And Jesus answering said to them, 'The sons of this age do marry and are given in marriage,

³⁵ but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the rising again that is out of the dead, neither marry, nor are they given in marriage;

³⁶ for neither are they able to die any more — for they are like messengers — and they are sons of God, being sons of the rising again.

³⁷ 'And that the dead are raised, even Moses shewed at the Bush, since he doth call the Lord, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob;

³⁸ and He is not a God of dead men, but of living, for all live to Him.'

³⁹ And certain of the scribes answering said, 'Teacher, thou didst say well;'

⁴⁰ and no more durst they question him anything.

⁴¹ And he said unto them, 'How do they say the Christ to be son of David,

⁴² and David himself saith in the Book of Psalms, The Lord said to my lord, Sit thou on my right hand,

⁴³ till I shall make thine enemies thy footstool;

⁴⁴ David, then, doth call him lord, and how is he his son?'
