Luke 18:21-25 in English

²¹ And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.

²² And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

²³ But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.

²⁴ And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²¹ And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

²¹ The man said, “I have obeyed all those commandments ever since I was young. So ◄ there must be something else I have not done./is that enough?►”

²² When Jesus heard him say that, he replied to him, “There is one thing that you (sg) have not done yet. Sell all that you own. Then give the money to poor people. The result will be that you will have spiritual riches in heaven. Then come and be my disciple!”

²³ The man became sad when he heard that, because he was very rich and he did not want to give everything away.

²⁴ Jesus looked at the man as he left, and said, “It is very difficult for those who are wealthy to decide to let God rule MET their lives.

²⁵ You would say that it is impossible for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. It is almost as difficult HYP for rich people to decide to let God rule their lives.”

²¹ He said, “I have observed all these things from my youth up.”

²² When Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”

²³ But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.

²⁴ Jesus, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”

²³ But at these words he became very sad, for he had great wealth.

²⁴ And Jesus, looking at him, said, How hard it is for those who have wealth to get into the kingdom of God!

²⁵ It is simpler for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a man who has much money to come into the kingdom of God.

²¹ And he said, All these things have I kept from my youth.

²⁴ When Jesus saw that he became sad, He said: “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter the Kingdom of God!

²⁵ It is actually easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God!”

²¹ “I've kept all these commandments since I was young,” the man replied.

²² When Jesus heard this he told the man, “You still lack one thing. Go and sell all you have, give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me!”

²³ But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was very wealthy.

²⁴ When he saw his reaction, Jesus said, “How difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

²⁵ It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

²¹ And hee saide, All these haue I kept from my youth.

²² Nowe when Iesus heard that, he saide vnto him, Yet lackest thou one thing. Sell all that euer thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come follow mee.

²³ But when he heard those things, he was very heauie: for he was marueilous riche.

²⁴ And when Iesus sawe him very sorowfull, he said, With what difficultie shall they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!

²⁵ Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.

²¹ And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.

²⁴ Seeing this, Jesus said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!

²⁵ It is easier, indeed, for a camel to get through a needle's eye than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God!”

²¹ “I have observed all these,” he replied, “from childhood.”

²² Hearing this, Jesus said to him, “There is one thing still lacking in you; sell everything that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven; then come and follow me.”

²² When Yeshua Salvation heard these things, he said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have, and distribute it to the poor. You will have treasure in heaven. Come, follow me.”

²³ But when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was very rich.

²⁴ Yeshua Salvation, seeing that he became very sad, said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter into God’s Kingdom!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into God’s Kingdom.”

²¹ And he sayde: all these have I kept from my youthe.

²² When Iesus hearde that he sayde vnto him: Yet lackest thou one thinge. Sell all that thou hast and distribute it vnto the poore and thou shalt have treasure in heven and come and folowe me.

²³ When he heard that he was hevy: for he was very ryche.

²⁴ When Iesus sawe him morne he sayde: with what difficulte shall they that have ryches enter into the kyngdome of God:

²⁵ it is easyer for a camell to goo thorow a nedles eye then for a ryche man to enter into the kyngdome of God.

²¹ The ruler said, “All these things I have obeyed from the time I was a youth.”

²² When Jesus heard that, he said to him, “One thing you still lack. You must sell all that you have and distribute it to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven—and come, follow me.”

²³ But when the ruler heard these things, he became extremely sad, for he was very rich.

²⁴ Then Jesus, seeing him, became very sad and said, “How difficult it is for those who are rich to enter the kingdom of God!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

²⁴ And Jesus seeing him made sorry or made sorrowful said, How hard they that have money or riches shall enter into the kingdom of God;

²⁵ for it is lighter or easier, a camel to pass through a needle’s eye, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²¹ Which said (or And he replied), I have kept all these things from my youth.

²² And when this thing was heard, Jesus said to him, Yet one thing faileth to thee; sell thou all (the) things that thou hast, and give to poor men, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, and (pur)sue thou me, or and come, and (pur)sue me, (or and come, and follow me).

²³ And when these things were heard, he was sorrowful, for he was full rich.

²⁴ And Jesus seeing him made sorry or made sorrowful said, How hard they that have money or riches shall enter into the kingdom of God;

²⁵ for it is lighter or forsooth it is easier, (for) a camel to pass through a needle’s eye, than (for) a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²¹ Which seide, Y haue kept alle these thingis fro my yongthe.

²² And whanne this thing was herd, Jhesus seide to hym, Yit o thing failith `to thee; sille thou alle thingis that thou hast, and yyue to pore men, and thou schalt haue tresour in heuene; and come, and sue thou me.

²³ Whanne these thingis weren herd, he was soreful, for he was ful ryche.

²⁴ And Jhesus seynge hym maad sorie, seide, How hard thei that han money schulen entre in to the kyngdom of God;

²⁵ for it is liyter a camel to passe thorou a nedlis iye, than a riche man to entre in to the kyngdom of God.

²¹ And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'

²² and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'

²³ and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.

²⁴ And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!

²⁵ for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'
