²⁰ Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor thy father and mother.

²¹ And he said, All these things have I observed from my youth up.

²² And when Jesus heard it, he said unto him, One thing thou lackest yet: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

²³ But when he heard these things, he became exceeding sorrowful; for he was very rich.

²⁴ And Jesus seeing him said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to enter in through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ And they that heard it said, Then who can be saved?

²⁷ But he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

²⁸ And Peter said, Lo, we have left our own, and followed thee.

²⁹ And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or wife, or brethren, or parents, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,

³⁰ who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the world to come eternal life.

³² For he shall be delivered up unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon:

³⁴ And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hid from them, and they perceived not the things that were said.

³⁵ And it came to pass, as he drew nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:

²⁰ But to answer your question, you (sg) know the commandments that God gave Moses. He commanded such things as ‘do not commit adultery, do not commit murder, do not steal, do not testify falsely about what you have seen or heard, honor your father and mother.’”

²¹ The man said, “I have obeyed all those commandments ever since I was young. So ◄ there must be something else I have not done./is that enough?►”

²² When Jesus heard him say that, he replied to him, “There is one thing that you (sg) have not done yet. Sell all that you own. Then give the money to poor people. The result will be that you will have spiritual riches in heaven. Then come and be my disciple!”

²³ The man became sad when he heard that, because he was very rich and he did not want to give everything away.

²⁴ Jesus looked at the man as he left, and said, “It is very difficult for those who are wealthy to decide to let God rule MET their lives.

²⁵ You would say that it is impossible for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. It is almost as difficult HYP for rich people to decide to let God rule their lives.”

²⁶ The Jews thought that God favored rich people, so they thought that if God did not save rich people, he would not save others, either. So one of the disciples who heard him say that replied, “If that is so, it seems that no one will be saved { that God will not save anyone} RHQ!”

²⁷ But Jesus said, “It is impossible for people to save themselves. But God can save them, because God can do anything!”

²⁸ Then Peter said, “ You know that we(exc) have left everything we had and have become your disciples RHQ. So what about us? (OR, So will God accept/save us?”)

²⁹ He said to them, “Keep this in mind: Those who have left their homes, their wives, their brothers, their parents, their children, or any other family members, to tell others about how God wants to rule MET people's lives,

³⁰ will receive in this life many times as much as they left. And in the future age they will ◄ live eternally with God/ have eternal life►.”

³¹ Jesus took the twelve disciples to a place by themselves and said to them, “Listen carefully! We (inc) are now going up to Jerusalem. While we are there, everything that has been written by the prophets {that the prophets have written} about me, the one who came from heaven, will be fulfilled {will occur}.

³² I will be put into the hands of { My enemies will hand me over to} non-Jews. The non-Jews will make fun of me and mistreat me and spit on me.

³³ They will whip me, and then they will kill me. But on the third day after that I will become alive again.”

³⁴ But the disciples did not understand any of those things that he said. They were prevented { Something prevented them} from understanding the meaning of what he was telling them.

³⁵ As Jesus and his disciples came near to Jericho city, a blind man was sitting beside the road. He was begging for money.

²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘Don’t commit adultery,’ ‘Don’t murder,’ ‘Don’t steal,’ ‘Don’t give false testimony,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’”

²⁰ You have knowledge of what the law says: Do not be untrue to your wife, Do not put anyone to death, Do not take what is not yours, Do not give false witness, Give honour to your father and mother.

²¹ And he said, All these things I have done from the time when I was a boy.

²² And Jesus, hearing it, said to him, One thing you still have need of; get money for your goods, and give it away to the poor, and you will have wealth in heaven; and come after me.

²³ But at these words he became very sad, for he had great wealth.

²⁴ And Jesus, looking at him, said, How hard it is for those who have wealth to get into the kingdom of God!

²⁵ It is simpler for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a man who has much money to come into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ And those who were present said, Then who may have salvation?

²⁷ But he said, Things which are not possible with man are possible with God.

²⁸ And Peter said, See, we have given up what is ours to come after you.

²⁹ And he said to them, Truly I say to you, There is no man who has given up house or wife or brothers or father or mother or children, because of the kingdom of God,

³⁰ Who will not get much more in this time, and in the world to come, eternal life.

³¹ And he took with him the twelve and said to them, Now we are going up to Jerusalem, and all the things which were said by the prophets will be done to the Son of man.

³² For he will be given up to the Gentiles, and will be made sport of and put to shame:

³³ And he will be given cruel blows and put to death, and on the third day he will come back to life.

³⁴ But they did not take in the sense of any of these words, and what he said was not clear to them, and their minds were not able to see it.

³⁵ And it came about that when he got near Jericho, a certain blind man was seated by the side of the road, making requests for money from those who went by.

³⁵ And it came to pass when he came into the neighbourhood of Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the wayside begging.

³² For He will be betrayed to the Gentiles, and will be mocked and insulted and spit upon,

³³ and having scourged Him, they will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.”

³⁴ But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what was being said.

³⁵ Now it came to pass, as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat alongside the road begging.

²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and your mother.’ ”

²² Well upon hearing these things Jesus said to him, “You still lack one thing: sell all you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

²³ But when he heard this he became very sad, because he was extremely rich.

²⁴ When Jesus saw that he became sad, He said: “How difficult it is for those who have riches to enter the Kingdom of God!

²⁵ It is actually easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God!”

²⁶ So the hearers said, “Who then can be saved?”

²⁷ And He said, “The things that are impossible with men are possible with God.”

²⁸ Then Peter said, “Notice that we have left all and followed you!”

²⁹ So He said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God,

³⁰ who will not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.”

²⁰ You know the commandments: do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother.”

²¹ “I've kept all these commandments since I was young,” the man replied.

²² When Jesus heard this he told the man, “You still lack one thing. Go and sell all you have, give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me!”

²³ But when the man heard this he became very sad, for he was very wealthy.

²⁴ When he saw his reaction, Jesus said, “How difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!

²⁵ It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.”

²⁶ Those who heard this wondered, “Who can be saved then?”

²⁷ Jesus replied, “What is impossible in human terms is possible for God.”

²⁸ Peter said, “We left everything to follow you!”

²⁹ “I tell you the truth,” Jesus told them, “anybody who leaves behind their home, wife, brothers, parents, or children for the sake of God's kingdom

³⁰ will receive so much more in this life, and eternal life in the world to come.”

³¹ Jesus took the twelve disciples aside, and told them, “We're going to Jerusalem, and all that the prophets wrote about the Son of man will be fulfilled.

³² He will be handed over to the foreigners he will be mocked, insulted, and spat upon.

³³ They will flog him and kill him, but on the third day he will rise again.”

³⁴ But they didn't understand anything Jesus told them. The meaning was hidden from them and they didn't grasp what he was talking about.

³⁵ As Jesus approached Jericho a blind man was sitting beside the road begging.

²⁰ Thou knowest the comandements, Thou shalt not commit adulterie: Thou shalt not kill: Thou shalt not steale: Thou shalt not beare false witnes: Honour thy father and thy mother.

²¹ And hee saide, All these haue I kept from my youth.

²² Nowe when Iesus heard that, he saide vnto him, Yet lackest thou one thing. Sell all that euer thou hast, and distribute vnto the poore, and thou shalt haue treasure in heauen, and come follow mee.

²³ But when he heard those things, he was very heauie: for he was marueilous riche.

²⁴ And when Iesus sawe him very sorowfull, he said, With what difficultie shall they that haue riches, enter into the kingdome of God!

²⁵ Surely it is easier for a camel to go through a needles eye, then for a riche man to enter into the kingdome of God.

²⁶ Then said they that heard it, And who then can be saued?

²⁷ And he said, The things which are vnpossible with men, are possible with God.

²⁸ Then Peter said, Loe, we haue left all, and haue followed thee.

²⁹ And he said vnto them, Verely I say vnto you, there is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children for the kingdome of Gods sake,

³⁰ Which shall not receiue much more in this world, and in the world to come life euerlasting.

³¹ Then Iesus tooke vnto him ye twelue, and said vnto them, Beholde, we goe vp to Hierusalem, and all things shalbe fulfilled to the Sonne of man, that are writttn by the Prophets.

³² For he shall be deliuered vnto the Gentiles, and shalbe mocked, and shalbe spitefully entreated, and shalbe spitted on.

³³ And when they haue scourged him, they will put him to death: but the thirde day hee shall rise againe.

³⁴ But they vnderstood none of these things, and this saying was hidde from them, neither perceiued they the things, which were spoken.

³⁵ And it came to passe, that as he was come neere vnto Iericho, a certaine blinde man sate by the way side, begging.

²² Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

³⁴ And thei vndurstoden no thing of these; and this word was hid fro hem, and thei vndurstoden not tho thingis that weren seid.

³⁵ But it was don, whanne Jhesus cam nyy to Jerico, a blynde man sat bisidis the weie, and beggide.

²⁰ the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.'

²¹ And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'

²² and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'

²³ and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.

²⁴ And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!

²⁵ for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'

²⁶ And those who heard, said, 'And who is able to be saved?'

²⁷ and he said, 'The things impossible with men are possible with God.'

²⁸ And Peter said, 'Lo, we left all, and did follow thee;'

²⁹ and he said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that there is not one who left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the reign of God,

³⁰ who may not receive back manifold more in this time, and in the coming age, life age-during.'

³¹ And having taken the twelve aside, he said unto them, 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be completed — that have been written through the prophets — to the Son of Man,

³² for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,

³³ and having scourged they shall put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again.'

³⁴ And they none of these things understood, and this saying was hid from them, and they were not knowing the things said.

³⁵ And it came to pass, in his coming nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the way begging,
