Luke 15:3-6 in English

³ And he spake unto them this parable, saying,

⁴ What man of you, having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

⁵ And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁶ And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and his neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.

³ And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

⁴ What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

⁵ And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁶ And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

³ So Jesus told them this parable:

⁴ “Suppose that one of you had a hundred sheep. If one of them were lost, ◄you (sg) would certainly leave the ninety-nine sheep in the pasture, and go and search for the one lost sheep until you found it./would you not leave the ninety-nine sheep in the pasture, and go and search for the one lost sheep until you found it?► RHQ

⁵ When you (sg) found it, you would put it on your shoulders and be happy.

⁶ When you brought it home, you would call together your friends and neighbors and say to them, ‘Be happy with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost!’

³ He told them this parable:

⁴ “Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?

⁵ When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁵ And when he has got it again, he takes it in his arms with joy.

⁶ And when he gets back to his house, he sends for his neighbours and friends, saying to them, Be glad with me, for I have got back my sheep which had gone away.

³ And he spoke to them this parable, saying,

⁴ What man of you having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

⁵ and having found it, he lays it upon his own shoulders, rejoicing;

⁶ and being come to the house, calls together the friends and the neighbours, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep.

³ And he spoke to them this parable, saying:

⁴ What man of you that hath an hundred sheep: and if he shall lose one of them, doth he not leave the ninety-nine in the desert, and go after that which was lost, until he find it?

⁵ And when he hath found it, lay it upon his shoulders, rejoicing:

⁶ And coming home, call together his friends and neighbours, saying to them: Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost?

³ And He told them this parable, saying,

⁴ “What man among you, having a hundred sheep, and loses one of them, does not leave behind the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and goes after the one which is lost until he finds it?

⁵ And having found it, he puts it on his own shoulders, rejoicing.

⁶ And coming into the house, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’

³ So He told them this parable, saying:

⁴ “What man among you, having a hundred sheep and losing one of them, does not abandon the ninety-nine in the wild and go after the lost one until he finds it?

⁵ And upon finding it he joyfully puts it on his shoulders.

⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost!’

³ So Jesus told them this story as an illustration.

⁴ “Imagine a man who had a hundred sheep lost one of them. Wouldn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open pasture, and search for the one that's lost until he finds it?

⁵ When he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders.

⁶ Once he gets home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Come and celebrate with me! I've found my lost sheep!’

³ Then spake hee this parable to them, saying,

⁴ What man of you hauing an hundreth sheepe, if hee lose one of them, doeth not leaue ninetie and nine in the wildernesse, and goe after that which is lost, vntill he finde it?

⁵ And when he hath found it, he laieth it on his shoulders with ioye.

⁶ And when he commeth home, he calleth together his friendes and neighbours, saying vnto them, Reioyce with mee: for I haue founde my sheepe which was lost.

³ And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

⁴ What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

⁵ And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁶ And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

³ Jesus knew about them what they were saying to each other. Therefore he told them this story to teach them.

⁴ “Listen to this! Maybe one of you may have 100 sheep way out in the bush. Then perhaps one sheep may wander off and get lost. What will you do? You will leave the other 99 sheep in the bush. Then you will search carefully for the one sheep that ran away.

⁵ When you find the one that got lost, you will become very happy. You will pick up that one sheep that ran away. Then you will carry it on your shoulders, you will return to your camp.

⁶ Then you will call out to all your people, “Come here! This sheep of mine ran away into the bush. Truly I have found it. Now I am very happy. Let us all be happy.”

³ And he spoke to them this parable, saying,

⁴ What man of you having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he findeth it?

⁵ And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

⁶ And when he hath come home, he calleth together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.

³ So Jesus told them this parable —

⁴ “Who amongst you who has a hundred sheep, and has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine out in the open country, and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

⁵ And, when he has found it, he puts in on his shoulders rejoicing;

⁶ and, on reaching home, he calls his friends and his neighbours together, and says ‘Come and rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.’

³ So Jesus told them this parable —

³ So Jesus told the people this picture story. He said,

⁴ “Suppose there is a man that has 100 sheep, but one of them wanders away and gets lost. What do you think that man will do? He will leave all the sheep and go out into the bush and look for the one that got lost. He will keep on looking for it until he finds it.

⁵ Then, after he finds it, he will pick it up and carry it back home on his shoulders. He will be really happy.

⁶ After he gets home he will call out to all his friends. He will say, ‘Hey, I’ve found my lost sheep. We can all be happy together now.’

³ Then put he forthe this similitude to the sayinge:

⁴ What man of you havynge an hundred shepe yf he loose one of thee doth not leve nynty and nyne in the wyldernes and goo after that which is loost vntyll he fynde him?

⁵ And when he hath founde him he putteth him on his shulders with ioye:

⁶ And assone as he cometh home he calleth to gedder his lovers and neghbours sayinge vnto them: reioyse with me for I have founde my shepe which was loost.

³ Jesus spoke this parable to them, saying,

⁴ “Which one of you, if he has a hundred sheep and then loses one of them, will not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the lost one until he finds it?

⁵ Then when he has found it, he lays it across his shoulders and rejoices.

⁶ When he comes to the house, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep.'

⁶ and he cometh home, and calleth together his friends and neighbours, and saith to them, Be ye glad with me, for I have found my sheep, that had perished or I had lost.

³ And he spake to them this parable, and said,

⁴ What man of you that hath an hundred sheep, and if he hath lost one of them, whether he leaveth not ninety and nine in (the) desert, and goeth to it that perished, till he find it? (or and goeth after that which is lost, until he find it?)

⁵ And when he hath found it, he joyeth, and layeth or putteth it on his shoulders;

⁶ and he cometh home, and calleth together his friends and neighbours, and saith to them, Be ye glad with me, for I have found my sheep, that had perished or that I had lost.

³ And he spak to hem this parable,

⁴ and seide, What man of you that hath an hundrith scheep, and if he hath lost oon of hem, whethir he leeueth not nynti and nyne in desert, and goith to it that perischide, til he fynde it?

⁵ And whanne he hath foundun it, he ioieth, and leyith it on hise schuldris; and he cometh hoom,

⁶ and clepith togidir hise freendis and neiyboris, and seith to hem, Be ye glad with me, for Y haue founde my scheep, that hadde perischid.

³ And he spake unto them this simile, saying,

⁴ 'What man of you having a hundred sheep, and having lost one out of them, doth not leave behind the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go on after the lost one, till he may find it?

⁵ and having found, he doth lay it on his shoulders rejoicing,

⁶ and having come to the house, he doth call together the friends and the neighbours, saying to them, Rejoice with me, because I found my sheep — the lost one.
