Luke 14:3-5 in English

³ And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath, or not?

⁴ But they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go.

⁵ And he said unto them, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a well, and will not straightway draw him up on a sabbath day?

³ And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

⁴ And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

⁵ And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

³ Jesus said to them, “Is it permitted in our(inc) Jewish laws to heal someone ◄on our Jewish rest day/on the Sabbath►, or not?”

⁴ They knew that their laws permitted it, but they thought that healing was work, which they thought was wrong to do ◄on the Sabbath/on the Jewish rest day► (OR, they knew that their laws permitted it, but they did not want to admit it). So they did not reply. Then Jesus put his hands on the man and healed him. Then he told him to go home.

⁵ Then he said to the rest of them, “If you had a son or an ox that fell into a well on a ◄Sabbath/our day of rest►, would you immediately work to pull him out, or would you(sg) let him stay there until the next day?”

³ Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

⁴ But they were silent. He took him, and healed him, and let him go.

³ And Jesus, answering, said to the scribes and Pharisees, Is it right to make people well on the Sabbath or not?

⁴ But they said nothing. And he made him well and sent him away.

⁵ And he said to them, Which of you, whose ox or ass has got into a water-hole, will not straight away get him out on the Sabbath?

³ And Jesus answering spoke unto the doctors of the law and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?

⁴ But they were silent. And taking him he healed him and let him go.

⁵ And answering he said to them, Of which of you shall an ass or ox fall into a well, that he does not straightway pull him up on the sabbath day?

³ And Jesus answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying: Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

⁴ But they were silent. And taking hold of him, He healed him, and let him go.

⁵ Then He answered them, saying, “Which of you, having a son or an ox that has fallen into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?”

³ And Jesus reacted by saying to the lawyers and Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

⁴ But they kept silent. So He took hold of him, healed him, and let him go.

⁵ Then He addressed them saying, “Which of you, if a son or an ox falls into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?”

³ So Jesus asked the experts in religious law and the Pharisees, “Does the law allow healing on the Sabbath, or not?”

⁴ But they kept quiet. Jesus touched the man, healed him, and sent him on his way.

⁵ Then Jesus said to them, “If your son or your ox happened to fall into a well on the Sabbath, wouldn't you go and pull him out immediately?”

³ Then Iesus answering, spake vnto the Lawyers and Pharises, saying, Is it lawfull to heale on the Sabbath day?

⁴ And they held their peace. Then he tooke him, and healed him, and let him goe,

⁵ And answered them, saying, Which of you shall haue an asse, or an oxe fallen into a pit, and wil not straightway pull him out on the Sabbath day?

³ And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?

⁴ And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

⁵ and answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day?

³ And Jesus answering spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to cure on the sabbath, or not?

⁴ But they were silent. And taking hold of him, he cured him, and sent him away.

⁵ And he answered them and said, Who is there of you, who, if his son or his ox fall into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the sabbath-day?

³ “Is it allowable,” said Jesus, addressing the students of the Law and the Pharisees, “to work a cure on the Sabbath, or is it not?”

⁴ They remained silent. Jesus took hold of the man and cured him, and sent him away.

⁵ And he said to them, “Which of you, finding that your son or your ox has fallen into a well, will not immediately pull them out on the Sabbath day?”

³ “Is it allowable,” said Jesus, addressing the students of the Law and the Pharisees, “to work a cure on the Sabbath, or is it not?”

⁴ They remained silent. Jesus took hold of the man and cured him, and sent him away.

⁵ And he said to them, “Which of you, finding that your son or your ox has fallen into a well, will not immediately pull them out on the Sabbath day?”

³ Yeshua Salvation, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees Separated, saying, “Does the Torah ·Teaching· allow healing on the Sabbath ·To cease· or not?”

⁴ But they were silent. He took him, and healed him, and let him go.

⁵ He answered them, “Which of you, if your son or an ox fell into a well, wouldn’t immediately pull him out on a Sabbath ·To cease· day?”

³ Jesus talked to the law teachers and the Pharisees there. He asked them, “Is it all right to make people better on our rest day, or not?”

⁴ They didn’t want to answer him, so they said nothing. Then Jesus touched the sick man, and made him better, and Jesus told him he can go away.

⁵ Then Jesus talked to the law mob there. He said, “Sometimes you work on our rest day, don’t you? If ever you have to do something straight away, like if your little kid falls into a deep hole on a Saturday, you get up quick and pull him out. Or if your cow falls into a hole, you pull it out, even on a Saturday. You do that, don’t you? So it’s all right to do a good thing on a Saturday. Isn’t that right?”

³ And Iesus answered and spake vnto the lawears and pharises sayinge: is it laufull to heale on the saboth daye?

⁴ And they helde their peace. And he toke him and healed him and let him goo:

⁵ and answered the sayinge whiche of you shall have an asse or an oxe fallen into a pitt and will not strayght waye pull him out on the Saboth daye?

³ Jesus asked the experts in the Jewish law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath, or not?”

⁴ But they kept silent. So Jesus took hold of him, healed him, and sent him away.

⁵ He said to them, “Which of you who has a son or an ox that falls into a well on the Sabbath day will not immediately pull him out?”

³ Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”

³ And Jesus answering spake to the wise men of the law, and to the Pharisees, and said, Whether it is leaveful to heal in the sabbath?

⁴ And they held peace. And Jesus took, and healed him, and let him go.

⁵ And he answered to them, and said, Whose ass or ox of you shall fall into a pit, and he shall not anon draw him out in the day of sabbath?

³ And Jesus answering spake to the wise men of the law, and to the Pharisees, and said, Whether it is leaveful to heal in the sabbath? (And Jesus spoke to the men wise in the Law, and to the Pharisees, and asked, Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?)

⁴ And they held (their) peace. And Jesus took (hold of him), and healed him, and let him go.

⁵ And he answered to them, and said, Whose ass or ox of you shall fall into a pit, and he shall not anon draw him out in the day of sabbath? (And he said to them, Whose ass or ox of yours shall fall into a pit, and he shall not at once pull him out on the Sabbath day?)

³ And Jhesus answerynge spak to the wise men of lawe, and to the Farisees, and seide, Whethir it is leeueful to heele in the sabat?

⁴ And thei helden pees. And Jhesus took, and heelide hym, and let hym go.

⁵ And he answeride to hem, and seide, Whos asse or oxe of you schal falle in to a pit, and `he schal not anoon drawe hym out in the dai of the sabat?

³ and Jesus answering spake to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, 'Is it lawful on the sabbath-day to heal?'

⁴ and they were silent, and having taken hold of him, he healed him, and let him go;

⁵ and answering them he said, 'Of which of you shall an ass or ox fall into a pit, and he will not immediately draw it up on the sabbath-day?'
