Help us?

Luke 13:18-34 in American Standard Version (1901)

18 He said therefore, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I liken it?
19 It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of the heaven lodged in the branches thereof.
20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 It is like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.
22 And he went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and journeying on unto Jerusalem.
23 And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that are saved? And he said unto them,
24 Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are;
26 then shall ye begin to say, We did eat and drink in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets;
27 and he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 There shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves cast forth without.
29 And they shall come from the east and west, and from the north and south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 And behold, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last.
31 In that very hour there came certain Pharisees, saying to him, Get thee out, and go hence: for Herod would fain kill thee.
32 And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third day I am perfected.
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way to-day and to-morrow and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!

18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?

Luke 13:18-34 in Translation for Translators

18 Then Jesus said, “◄I will tell you how the number of people who let God rule MET their lives will increase./Do you know how the number of people who let God rule MET their lives will increase?► RHQ I will tell you what I can compare it to.
19 It is like a tiny mustard seed that a man planted in his field. It grew until it became big, like a tree. It was so big that birds built nests in its branches.”
20 Then he said, “I will tell RHQ you something else, to illustrate how the people who let God rule MET their lives can influence their society more and more.
21 It is like a little bit of yeast that a woman mixed with about fifty pounds of flour. That small amount of yeast made the whole batch of dough swell up.”
22 Jesus continued traveling, along with his disciples, through various towns and villages on the way to Jerusalem. As they went, he was teaching the people.
23 Someone asked him, “Lord, will there be only a few people who are saved {whom God saves}?” He replied to them, “ There will not be many, because the way to heaven MET is like a narrow door.
24 Therefore, try hard to enter that narrow doorway, because I tell you that many people will try to enter heaven by some other way, but they will not be able to get in.
25 God is like the owner of a house. Some day he will lock his door. Then some of you will begin to stand outside that door and knock. You will say, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘ No, I will not open it, because I do not know you, and I do not know where you are from!’
26 Then you will say, ‘◄ You must have forgotten!/Surely you know us, because► RHQ we (exc) ate meals with you (sg), and you taught people in the streets of our towns’!
27 But he will say, ‘ I tell you again, I do not know you, and I do not know where you are from. You are wicked people! Get away from here!’”
28 Then Jesus continued, saying, “ From where God will send you, you will see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the distance. All the prophets who lived long ago will also be there, in the kingdom where God is ruling. But you will be outside, crying and grinding your teeth because you will have severe pain!
29 Furthermore, many non-Jewish people will be inside. There will be ones who have come from lands to the north, east, south, and west. They will be feasting in ◄that place where God is ruling/God's kingdom►.
30 Think about this: Some people whom others do not consider important now, God will make them very important then, and some people whom others consider very important now, God will make to be not important then.”
31 At that very time, some Pharisees came and said to Jesus, “Leave this area, because the ruler Herod Antipas wants to kill you (sg)!”
32 He replied to them, “Herod is MET as cruel as a fox, but also as insignificant as a fox. So I do not worry about him. But to show him that no one can harm me until it is the time and place God has determined, go tell him this message from me: ‘Listen! I am expelling demons and performing miracles today, and I will continue doing it for a short time. After that, I will finish my work.
33 But I must continue my trip to Jerusalem during the coming days, because they killed many other prophets there, and since I am also a prophet, no other place is appropriate for people to kill me.’”
34 Then Jesus said, “O people of MTY Jerusalem APO! You killed the prophets who lived long ago, and you killed others, whom God sent to you, by throwing stones at them. Many times I wanted to gather you together to protect you SIM like a hen gathers her young chicks under her wings. But you did not want me to do that.

18 Then he said, What is the kingdom of God like? what comparison may I make of it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his garden, and it became a tree, and the birds of heaven made their resting-places in its branches.
20 And again he said, What is the kingdom of God like?
21 It is like leaven, which a woman put into three measures of meal, and it was all leavened.
22 And he went on his way, through towns and country places, teaching and journeying to Jerusalem.
23 And someone said to him, Lord, will only a small number have salvation? And he said to them,
24 Do your best to go in by the narrow door, for I say to you, A number will make the attempt to go in, but will not be able to do so.
25 When the master of the house has got up, and the door has been shut, and you, still outside, give blows on the door, saying, Lord, let us in; he will make answer and say, I have no knowledge of where you come from.
26 Then you will say, We have taken food and drink with you, and you were teaching in our streets.
27 But he will say, Truly, I have no knowledge of you or where you come from; go away from me, you workers of evil.
28 There will be weeping and cries of sorrow when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves are shut outside.
29 And they will come from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south, and take their places in the kingdom of God.
30 And the last will be first, and the first will be last.
31 At that time, certain Pharisees came to him and said, Go away from this place, because Herod's purpose is to put you to death.
32 And he said, Go and say to that fox, I send out evil spirits and do works of mercy today and tomorrow, and on the third day my work will be complete.
33 But I have to go on my way today and tomorrow and the third day, for it is not right for a prophet to come to his death outside Jerusalem.
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, putting to death the prophets, and stoning those who were sent to her! again and again would I have taken your children to myself, as a bird takes her young ones under her wings, but you would not!

27 But he will say: ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
28 “There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, but you yourselves being thrown out.
29 They will even come from the east, the west, the north and the south, and recline in the Kingdom of God.
30 Yes indeed, there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”
31 On that same day some Pharisees approached saying to Him, “Get out of here and go away, because Herod wants to kill you.”
32 He said to them: “Go tell that ‘fox’, ‘Take note, I am casting out demons and performing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third I will be perfected.’
33 Nevertheless I must keep going today and tomorrow and the day following, because it is not credible that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem!
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, she who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!

Luke 13:18-34 in Free Bible Version

18 Then Jesus asked, “So what is the kingdom of God like? What should I compare it to?
19 It's like a mustard seed that a man planted in his garden. It grew into a tree, and the birds came and nested in its branches.”
20 He asked again, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to?
21 It's like yeast that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour which made the whole batch rise.”
22 Jesus went around the towns and villages, teaching on his way to Jerusalem.
23 Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?” Jesus replied,
24 “Try very hard to enter the narrow doorway, because I tell you that many will try to go in, and won't succeed.
25 Once the house owner gets up and closes the door, you'll be standing outside knocking on the door, saying, ‘Master, please open the door for us.’ But he'll reply, ‘I don't know you or where you're from.’
26 Then you'll say, ‘But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets!’
27 He'll reply, ‘I tell you, I don't know you or where you're from. Get away from me, all of you who don't do what's good!’
28 There will be crying and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God but you are thrown out.
29 People will come from the east and the west, the north and the south, and they will sit down to eat in the kingdom of God.
30 For the last shall be first, and the first shall be last.”
31 At that moment some Pharisees came to Jesus and told him, “You should leave here. Herod wants to kill you!”
32 Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox that I will go on driving out demons and healing people for today and tomorrow, and on the third day I'll achieve what I came to do.
33 Well anyway I must continue on my way for today and tomorrow, and the day after. For it wouldn't be right for a prophet to die outside of Jerusalem!
34 Oh Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you kill prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often I have wanted to gather all your children together just like a hen does with her chicks under her wings, but you refused!

32 And he said to them, Go ye and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out demons, and I do cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
33 Nevertheless, I must walk to-day and to-morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet should perish out of Jerusalem.
34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent to thee; how often would I have gathered thy children, as a hen gathereth her brood under her wings, and ye would not!

Luke 13:18-34 in World Messianic Bible

18 He said, “What is God’s Kingdom like? To what shall I compare it?
19 It is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took and put in his own garden. It grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky live in its branches.”
20 Again he said, “To what shall I compare God’s Kingdom?
21 It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures of flour, until it was all leavened.”
22 He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.
23 One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,
24 “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.
25 When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’
26 Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’
27 He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’
28 There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.
29 They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.
30 Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”
31 On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”
32 He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem.’
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!

18 Therefore he said, To what thing is the kingdom of God like? and to what thing shall I guess it to be like?
19 It is like to a corn of sinapi, which a man took, and cast into his garden or into his yard; and it waxed, and was made into a great tree, and fowls of the air rested in the branches thereof.
20 And again he said, To what thing shall I guess the kingdom of God like?

22 And he went by cities and castles, teaching and making journey into Jerusalem.
23 And a man said to him, Lord, if there be few, that be saved? And he said to them,
24 Strive ye to enter by the strait gate; for I say to you, many seek to enter in, and they shall not be able.
25 For when the husbandman is entered, and the door is closed, ye shall begin to stand withoutforth, and knock at the door, and say, Lord, open to us. And he shall answer, and say to you, I know you not, of whence ye be.
26 Then ye shall begin to say, We have eaten before thee and drunk, and in our streets thou hast taught.

18 Therfor he seide, To what thing is the kyngdom of God lijk? and to what thing schal Y gesse it to be lijk?

Luke 13:18-34 in Young's Literal Translation

18 And he said, 'To what is the reign of God like? and to what shall I liken it?
19 It is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, did cast into his garden, and it increased, and came to a great tree, and the fowls of the heavens did rest in its branches.'
20 And again he said, 'To what shall I liken the reign of God?
21 It is like leaven, which a woman, having taken, did hide in three measures of meal, till that all was leavened.'
22 And he was going through cities and villages, teaching, and making progress toward Jerusalem;
23 and a certain one said to him, 'Sir, are those saved few?' and he said unto them,
24 'Be striving to go in through the straight gate, because many, I say to you, will seek to go in, and shall not be able;
25 from the time the master of the house may have risen up, and may have shut the door, and ye may begin without to stand, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, lord, open to us, and he answering shall say to you, I have not known you whence ye are,
26 then ye may begin to say, We did eat before thee, and did drink, and in our broad places thou didst teach;
27 and he shall say, I say to you, I have not known you whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of the unrighteousness.
28 'There shall be there the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth, when ye may see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the reign of God, and yourselves being cast out without;
29 and they shall come from east and west, and from north and south, and shall recline in the reign of God,
30 and lo, there are last who shall be first, and there are first who shall be last.'
31 On that day there came near certain Pharisees, saying to him, 'Go forth, and be going on hence, for Herod doth wish to kill thee;'
32 and he said to them, 'Having gone, say to this fox, Lo, I cast forth demons, and perfect cures to-day and to-morrow, and the third day I am being perfected;
33 but it behoveth me to-day, and to-morrow, and the day following, to go on, because it is not possible for a prophet to perish out of Jerusalem.
34 'Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that is killing the prophets, and stoning those sent unto her, how often did I will to gather together thy children, as a hen her brood under the wings, and ye did not will.
