Luke 11:10-13 in English

¹⁰ For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

¹¹ And of which of you that is a father shall his son ask a loaf, and he give him a stone? or a fish, and he for a fish give him a serpent?

¹² Or if he shall ask an egg, will he give him a scorpion?

¹³ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

¹⁰ For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

¹¹ If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?

¹² Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?

¹³ If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

¹⁰ Remember that God will give things to everyone who continues to ask him for them. He will give things to whoever confidently keeps asking. He will open the way for people to get the things that they keep urgently praying for.

¹¹ If one of you had a son who asked you (sg) for a fish to eat, ◄you (sg) certainly would not give him a poisonous snake instead!/would you give him a poisonous snake instead?► RHQ

¹² If he asked you for an egg, ◄you (sg) certainly would not give him a scorpion!/would you give him a scorpion?► RHQ

¹³ Even though you people are evil, you know how to give good things to your children. So your Father in heaven will certainly give good things to those who ask him, including giving the Holy Spirit, who is the best gift.”

¹³ If, then, you who are evil are able to give good things to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who make request to him?

¹¹ If a sonne shall aske bread of any of you that is a father, will he giue him a stone? or if hee aske a fish, will he for a fish giue him a serpent?

¹² Or if hee aske an egge, will hee giue him a scorpion?

¹³ If yee then which are euill, can giue good giftes vnto your children, howe much more shall your heauenly Father giue the holy Ghost to them, that desire him?

¹¹ What father amongst you, if his son asks him for a fish, will give him a snake instead,

¹² or, if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

¹³ If you, then, naturally wicked though you are, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

¹⁰ For the person who asks receives, everyone who searches finds, and to the person who knocks the door will be opened.

¹¹ What father among you, if his son asks him for a fish, will give him a snake instead,

¹² or, if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?

¹³ If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give Ruach haKodesh Spirit of the Holiness to those who ask him?”

¹⁰ You see, everyone that asks God for something will get it. Everyone that looks for something will find it. God will open the door for everyone that knocks on it.

¹¹ Some of you are fathers. If your kid asks you for a fish to eat, will you give him a cheeky snake instead? No, of course not.

¹² Or if your kid asks you for an egg, will you give him a cheeky scorpion instead? No, of course not.

¹³ You see, you might be bad, but you always give good things to your kids. Well, your Father in heaven is a lot better than you, so he is always sure to give you good things. He will send the Holy Spirit to everyone that asks him.”

¹⁰ For every one that axeth receaveth: and he that seketh fyndeth: and to him that knocketh shall it be openned.

¹¹ Yf the sonne shall axe breed of eny of you that is a father: wyll he geve him a stone? Or yf he axe fisshe wyll he for a fysshe geve him a serpent?

¹² Or yf he axe an egge: wyll he offer him a scorpion?

¹³ Yf ye then which are evyll canne geve good giftes vnto youre chyldren how moche more shall the father of heaven geve an holy sprete to them that desyre it of him?

¹⁰ For every asking person receives; and the seeking person finds; and to the person who knocks, it will be opened.

¹¹ Which father among you, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish?

¹² Or if he asks for an egg, will you give a scorpion to him?

¹³ Therefore, if you who are evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”

¹¹ Therfor who of you axith his fadir breed, whether he schal yyue hym a stoon? or if he axith fisch, whether he schal yyue hym a serpent for the fisch?

¹² or if he axe an eye, whether he schal a reche hym a scorpioun?

¹³ Therfor if ye, whanne ye ben yuel, kunnen yyue good yiftis to youre children, hou myche more youre fadir of heuene schal yyue a good spirit to men that axith him.

¹⁰ for every one who is asking doth receive; and he who is seeking doth find; and to him who is knocking it shall be opened.

¹¹ 'And of which of you — the father — if the son shall ask a loaf, a stone will he present to him? and if a fish, will he instead of a fish, a serpent present to him?

¹² and if he may ask an egg, will he present to him a scorpion?

¹³ If, then, ye, being evil, have known good gifts to be giving to your children, how much more shall the Father who is from heaven give the Holy Spirit to those asking Him!'
