Leviticus 4:5-29 in English

⁵ And the anointed priest shall take of the blood of the bullock, and bring it to the tent of meeting:

⁶ and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before Jehovah, before the veil of the sanctuary.

⁷ And the priest shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood of the bullock shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

⁸ And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering he shall take off from it; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away,

¹⁰ as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace-offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of burnt-offering.

¹¹ And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inwards, and its dung,

¹² even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire: where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.

¹³ And if the whole congregation of Israel err, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done any of the things which Jehovah hath commanded not to be done, and are guilty;

¹⁴ when the sin wherein they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bullock for a sin-offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting.

¹⁵ And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before Jehovah; and the bullock shall be killed before Jehovah.

¹⁶ And the anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bullock to the tent of meeting:

¹⁷ and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Jehovah, before the veil.

¹⁸ And he shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before Jehovah, that is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

¹⁹ And all the fat thereof shall he take off from it, and burn it upon the altar.

²⁰ Thus shall he do with the bullock; as he did with the bullock of the sin-offering, so shall he do with this; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and they shall be forgiven.

²² When a ruler sinneth, and doeth unwittingly any one of all the things which Jehovah his God hath commanded not to be done, and is guilty;

²³ if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, be made known to him, he shall bring for his oblation a goat, a male without blemish.

²⁴ And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt-offering before Jehovah: it is a sin-offering.

²⁵ And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering; and the blood thereof shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering.

²⁶ And all the fat thereof shall he burn upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make atonement for him as concerning his sin, and he shall be forgiven.

²⁷ And if any one of the common people sin unwittingly, in doing any of the things which Jehovah hath commanded not to be done, and be guilty;

⁷ And the priest shall put of the blood of the calf on the horns of the altar of the compound incense which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and all the blood of the calf shall he pour out by the foot of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings, which is by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

⁸ And all the fat of the calf of the sin-offering shall he take off from it; the fat that covers the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, that which is on the thighs, and the caul that is on the liver with the kidneys, them shall he take away,

¹⁰ as he takes it away from the calf of the sacrifice of peace-offering, so shall the priest offer it on the altar of burnt-offering.

¹¹ And they shall take the skin of the calf, and all his flesh with the head and the extremities and the belly and the dung,

¹² and they shall carry out the whole calf out of the camp into a clean place, where they pour out the ashes, and they shall consume it there on wood with fire: it shall be burnt on the ashes poured out.

¹³ And if the whole congregation of Israel trespass ignorantly, and a thing should escape the notice of the congregation, and they should do one thing forbidden of any of the commands of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and should transgress:

¹⁴ and the sin wherein they have sinned should become known to them, then shall the congregation bring an unblemished calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and they shall bring it to the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁵ And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the calf before the Lord, and they shall slay the calf before the Lord.

¹⁶ And the anointed priest shall bring in of the blood of the calf into the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁷ And the priest shall dip his finger into some of the blood of the calf, and shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil of the sanctuary.

¹⁸ And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of the incense of composition, which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and he shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings, which is by the door of the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁹ And he shall take away all the fat from it, and shall offer it up on the altar.

²⁰ And he shall do to the calf as he did to the calf of the sin-offering, so shall it be done; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and the trespass shall be forgiven them.

²¹ And they shall carry forth the calf whole without the camp, and they shall burn the calf as they burnt the former calf: it is the sin-offering of the congregation.

²² And if a ruler sin, and break one of all the commands of the Lord his God, doing the thing which ought not to be done, unwillingly, and shall sin and trespass,

²³ and his trespass wherein he has sinned, be known to him,—then shall he offer for his gift a kid of the goats, a male without blemish.

²⁴ And he shall lay his hand on the head of the kid, and they shall kill it in the place where they kill the victims for whole-burnt-offerings before the Lord; it is a sin-offering.

²⁵ And the priest shall put some of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger on the horns of the altar of whole-burnt-offering; and he shall pour out all its blood by the bottom of the altar of whole-burnt-offerings.

²⁶ And he shall offer up all his fat on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

²⁷ And if a soul of the people of the land should sin unwillingly, in doing a thing contrary to any of the commandments of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and shall transgress,

²⁸ and his sin should be known to him, wherein he has sinned, then shall he bring a kid of the goats, a female without blemish shall he bring for his sin, which he has sinned.

²⁹ And he shall lay his hand on the head of his sin-offering, and they shall slay the kid of the sin-offering in the place where they slay the victims for whole-burnt-offerings.

⁵ Then the Supreme Priest must take some of that blood into the Sacred Tent.

⁶ He must dip one of his fingers into the blood and sprinkle it seven times in the presence of Yahweh, in front of the curtain that separates the Holy Place from the Very Holy Place.

⁷ Then he must put some of the blood on the projections at the corners of the altar where fragrant incense is burned in the Sacred Tent in the presence of Yahweh. The remaining part of the bull's blood that is still in the bowl, he must pour out at the base of the altar, where sacrifices are burned, at the entrance to the Sacred Tent.

⁸ From that offering the Supreme Priest must separate these things from the bull that is to be burned: The fat that covers the inner parts of the bull or which is attached to them—

⁹ the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

¹⁰ Then the Supreme Priest must completely burn those things on the altar. That will be just like when the fat is removed from an animal that is sacrificed to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh.

¹¹ But all the other parts of the animal—its skin/hide and all its other meat, its head and its legs, its inner parts and the intestines,

¹² he must take outside the camp and throw them in a place that is acceptable to Yahweh, where the ashes are thrown, and he must burn them in a fire on the pile of ashes.

¹³ If all the Israeli people sin without intending to sin, doing something that is forbidden in any of Yahweh's commands, they will be guilty, even if they do not realize that they have sinned.

¹⁴ When they realize that they have committed a sin, together they must bring a young bull to be an offering for their sin, to the front of the Sacred Tent.

¹⁵ The elders must lay their hands on the bull's head in the presence of Yahweh and slaughter it and catch some of the blood in a bowl.

¹⁶ Then the Supreme MTY Priest must take some of that blood into the Sacred Tent.

¹⁷ He must dip one of his fingers into the blood and sprinkle it seven times in the presence of Yahweh, in front of the curtain that separates the Holy Place from the Very Holy Place.

¹⁸ Then he must put some of the blood on the projections at the corners of the altar that is in the presence of Yahweh in the Sacred Tent. The remaining part of the bull's blood, he must pour out at the base of the altar where sacrifices are burned, at the entrance of the Sacred Tent.

¹⁹ He must remove all the animal's fat and burn it on the altar.

²⁰ He must do with this bull the same things that he did with the bull that was an offering for his own sins, and they will be forgiven {Yahweh will forgive them}.

²¹ Then the priest must take the other parts of the bull outside the camp and burn them, like he does when he himself has sinned. That will be the offering for the sin that all the people have committed, and they will be forgiven.

²² When one of the leaders sins without intending to sin, doing something that is forbidden in any of the commands of Yahweh his God, he will be guilty.

²³ When he realizes that he has committed a sin, he must bring as his offering a male goat that has no defects.

²⁴ He must lay his hands on the goat's head in the presence of Yahweh and slaughter it at the place where they slaughter {are slaughtered} the animals that will be completely burned on the altar. That will be an offering for his sin.

²⁵ Then the priest must put some of the animal's blood into a bowl and dip one of his fingers in it and put some of the blood on the corners of the projections of the altar. Then he must pour out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar.

²⁶ Then he must burn all the fat on the altar, as was done with the fat of the offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh. As a result of the priest's doing that, the leader will no longer be guilty for his sin and he will be forgiven.

²⁷ If one of the Israeli people who is not a priest sins without intending to sin, and does something that is forbidden in any of the commands of Yahweh his God, he will be guilty.

²⁸ When he realizes that he has committed a sin, he must bring as his offering a female goat that has no defects.

²⁹ He must lay his hands on the goat's head and slaughter it at the place where they slaughter the animals that will be completely burned on the altar, and catch some of the blood in a bowl.

⁵ And the anointed priest who has been consecrated having received of the blood of the calf, shall then bring it into the tabernacle of witness.

⁶ And the priest shall dip his finger into the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, over against the holy veil.

⁷ And the priest shall put of the blood of the calf on the horns of the altar of the compound incense which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and all the blood of the calf shall he pour out by the foot of the altar of whole burnt offerings, which is by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

⁸ and all the fat of the calf of the sin-offering shall he take off from it; the fat that covers the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is on the thighs, and the caul that is on the liver with the kidneys, them shall he take away,

¹⁰ as he takes it away from the calf of the sacrifice of peace-offering, so shall the priest offer it on the altar of burnt offering.

¹¹ And they shall take the skin of the calf, and all his flesh with the head and the extremities and the belly and the dung,

¹² and they shall carry out the whole calf out of the camp into a clean place, where they pour out the ashes, and they shall consume it there on wood with fire: it shall be burnt on the ashes poured out.

¹³ And if the whole congregation of Israel trespass ignorantly, and a thing should escape the notice of the congregation, and they should do one thing forbidden of any of the commands of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and should transgress:

¹⁴ and the sin wherein they have sinned should become known to them, then shall the congregation bring an unblemished calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and they shall bring it to the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁵ And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the calf before the Lord, and they shall kill the calf before the Lord.

¹⁶ And the anointed priest shall bring in of the blood of the calf into the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁷ And the priest shall dip his finger into some of the blood of the calf, and shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil of the sanctuary.

¹⁸ And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of the incense of composition, which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and he shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of whole burnt offerings, which is by the door of the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁹ And he shall take away all the fat from it, and shall offer it up on the altar.

²⁰ And he shall do to the calf as he did to the calf of the sin-offering, so shall it be done; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and the trespass shall be forgiven them.

²¹ And they shall carry forth the calf whole without the camp, and they shall burn the calf as they burnt the former calf: it is the sin-offering of the congregation.

²² And if a ruler sin, and break one of all the commands of the Lord his God, doing the thing which ought not to be done, unwillingly, and shall sin and trespass,

²³ and his trespass wherein he has sinned, be known to him, then shall he offer for his gift a kid of the goats, a male without blemish.

²⁴ And he shall lay his hand on the head of the kid, and they shall kill it in the place where they kill the victims for whole burnt offerings before the Lord; it is a sin-offering.

²⁵ And the priest shall put some of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger on the horns of the altar of whole burnt offering; and he shall pour out all its blood by the bottom of the altar of whole burnt offerings.

²⁶ And he shall offer up all his fat on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

²⁷ And if a soul of the people of the land should sin unwillingly, in doing a thing contrary to any of the commandments of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and shall transgress,

²⁸ and his sin should be known to him, wherein he has sinned, then shall he bring a kid of the goats, a female without blemish shall he bring for his sin, which he has sinned.

²⁹ And he shall lay his hand on the head of his sin-offering, and they shall kill the kid of the sin-offering in the place where they kill the victims for whole burnt offerings.

¹⁵ The elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the bull before Yahweh; and the bull shall be killed before Yahweh.

⁷ And the priest is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar on which perfume is burned before the Lord in the Tent of meeting, draining out all the rest of the blood of the ox at the base of the altar of burned offering which is at the door of the Tent of meeting.

⁸ And he is to take away all the fat of the ox of the sin-offering; the fat covering the inside parts and all the fat of the inside parts,

⁹ And the two kidneys, with the fat on them, which is by the top part of the legs, and the fat joining the liver and the kidneys, he is to take away,

¹⁰ As it is taken from the ox of the peace-offering; and it is to be burned by the priest on the altar of burned offerings.

¹¹ And the skin of the ox and all its flesh, with its head and its legs and its inside parts and its waste,

¹² All the ox, he is to take away outside the circle of the tents into a clean place where the burned waste is put, and there it is to be burned on wood with fire.

¹³ And if all the people of Israel do wrong, without anyone's knowledge; if they have done any of the things which by the Lord's order are not to be done, causing sin to come on them;

¹⁴ When the sin which they have done comes to light, then let all the people give an ox for a sin-offering, and take it before the Tent of meeting.

¹⁵ And let the chiefs of the people put their hands on its head before the Lord, and put the ox to death before the Lord.

¹⁶ And the priest is to take some of its blood to the Tent of meeting;

¹⁷ And put his finger in the blood, shaking drops of the blood seven times before the Lord in front of the veil.

¹⁸ And he is to put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the Lord in the Tent of meeting; and all the rest of the blood is to be drained out at the base of the altar of burned offering at the door of the Tent of meeting.

¹⁹ And he is to take off all its fat, burning it on the altar.

²⁰ Let him do with the ox as he did with the ox of the sin-offering; and the priest will take away their sin and they will have forgiveness.

²¹ Then let the ox be taken away outside the tent-circle, that it may be burned as the other ox was burned; it is the sin-offering for all the people.

²³ When the sin which he has done is made clear to him, let him give for his offering a goat, a male without any mark.

⁷ and the priest shall put of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense, which is in the tent of meeting, before Jehovah; and he shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

⁸ And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering shall he take off from it; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is on the inwards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the net above the liver which he shall take away as far as the kidneys,

¹⁰ as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace-offering; and the priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt-offering.

¹¹ And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inwards, and its dung,

¹² even the whole bullock shall he carry forth outside the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire; where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.

¹³ And if the whole assembly of Israel sin inadvertently, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the congregation, and they do somewhat against any of all the commandments of Jehovah in things which should not be done, and are guilty;

¹⁴ and the sin wherewith they have sinned against it have become known; then the congregation shall present a young bullock for the sin-offering, and shall bring it before the tent of meeting;

¹⁵ and the elders of the assembly shall lay their hands on the head of the bullock before Jehovah; and one shall slaughter the bullock before Jehovah.

¹⁶ And the priest that is anointed shall bring of the bullock's blood into the tent of meeting;

¹⁷ and the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Jehovah, before the veil;

¹⁸ and he shall put of the blood on the horns of the altar that is before Jehovah which is in the tent of meeting; and he shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

¹⁹ And all its fat shall he take off from it and burn on the altar.

²³ if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge, he shall bring his offering, a buck of the goats, a male without blemish.

²⁴ And he shall lay his hand on the head of the goat, and slaughter it at the place where they slaughter the burnt-offering before Jehovah: it is a sin-offering.

²⁵ And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, and shall pour out its blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt-offering.

²⁶ And he shall burn all its fat on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him to cleanse him from his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

²⁷ And if any one of the people of the land sin through inadvertence, that he do somewhat against any of the commandments of Jehovah in things which should not be done, and be guilty;

²⁸ if his sin, which he hath sinned, come to his knowledge, then he shall bring his offering, a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath sinned.

²⁹ And he shall lay his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and slaughter the sin-offering at the place of the burnt-offering.

⁸ And he shall take off the fat of the calf for the sin offering, as well that which covereth the entrails, as all the inwards:

⁹ The two little kidneys, and the caul that is upon them, which is by the hanks, and the fat of the liver with the little kidneys,

¹⁰ As it is taken off from the calf of the sacrifice of peace offerings, and he shall burn them upon the altar of holocaust.

¹¹ But the skin and all the flesh with the head and the feet and the bowels and the dung,

¹² And the rest of the body he shall carry forth without the camp into a clean place where the ashes are wont to be poured out, and he shall burn them upon a pile of wood, they shall be burnt in the place where the ashes are poured out.

¹³ And if all the multitude of Israel shall be ignorant, and through ignorance shall do that which is against the commandment of the Lord,

¹⁴ And afterwards shall understand their sin, they shall offer for their sin a calf, and shall bring it to the door of the tabernacle.

¹⁵ And the ancients of the people shall put their hands upon the head thereof before the Lord. And the calf being immolated in the sight of the Lord,

¹⁶ The priest that is anointed shall carry of the blood into the tabernacle of the testimony.

¹⁷ And shall dip his finger in it and sprinkle it seven times before the veil.

¹⁸ And he shall put of the same blood on the horns of the altar that is before the Lord, in the tabernacle of the testimony: and the rest of the blood he shall pour at the foot of the altar of holocaust, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony.

¹⁹ And all the fat thereof he shall take off, and shall burn it upon the altar:

²⁰ Doing so with this calf, as he did also with that before: and the priest praying for them, the Lord will be merciful unto them.

²¹ But the calf itself he shall carry forth without the camp, and shall burn it as he did the former calf: because it is for the sin of the multitude.

²² If a prince shall sin, and through ignorance do any one of the things that the law of the Lord forbiddeth,

²³ And afterwards shall come to know his sin, he shall offer a buck goat without blemish, a sacrifice to the Lord.

²⁴ And he shall put his hand upon the head thereof: and when he hath immolated it in the place where the holocaust is wont to be slain before the Lord, because it is for sin,

²⁵ The priest shall dip his finger in the blood of the victim for sin, touching therewith the horns of the altar of holocaust, and pouring out the rest at the foot thereof.

²⁶ But the fat he shall burn upon it, as is wont to be done with the victims of peace offerings: and the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

²⁷ And if any one of the people of the land shall sin through ignorance, doing any of those things that by the law of the Lord are forbidden, and offending,

²⁸ And shall come to know his sin, he shall offer a she goat without blemish.

²⁹ And he shall put his hand upon the head of the victim that is for sin, and shall immolate it in the place of the holocaust.

⁵ Then the high priest shall take some of the bull's blood into the Tent of Meeting.

⁶ The high priest shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle some of it seven times before the Lord in front of the veil of the sanctuary.

⁷ The priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of aromatic incense that stands before the Lord in the Tent of Meeting. The rest of the bull's blood he is to pour out at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

⁸ Then he shall remove all the fat from the bull of the sin offering: all the fat that covers the insides,

⁹ both kidneys with the fat on them by the loins, and the best part of the liver, which he is to remove together with the kidneys

¹⁰ in the same way as the fat is removed from the bull of the peace offering. Then the priest shall then burn this on the altar of burnt offering.

¹¹ But the skin of the bull, all its flesh, head, legs, insides and waste—

¹² all the rest of it—he has to take outside the camp to a place that is ceremonially clean, where the ashes are dumped, and he must burn it on a wood fire there on the ash heap.

¹³ If the whole Israelite community goes astray unintentionally, and even though they are unaware of doing what is not permitted by any of the Lord's commandments, they are all still guilty.

¹⁵ The elders of Israel are to put their hands on its head and kill it before the Lord.

¹⁶ Then the high priest shall take some of the bull's blood into the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁷ He shall dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle it seven times before the Lord in front of the veil.

¹⁸ He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that stands before the Lord in the Tent of Meeting. Then he is to pour out the rest of the bull's blood at the bottom of the altar of burnt offering at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁹ Then he shall remove all the fat from the bull and burn it on the altar.

²⁰ He shall offer this bull in the same way he did for the sin offering. This is how the priest will make them right, and they will be forgiven.

²¹ Then he shall take the bull outside the camp and burn it, just as he burned the bull previously mentioned. It is the sin offering for the whole community.

²² If a leader sins unintentionally and does what is not permitted by any of the commandments of the Lord his God, he is guilty.

²³ When he realizes his sin, he must bring a male goat without defects as his offering.

²⁴ He must put his hand on the head of the goat and kill it at the place where the burnt offering is killed before the Lord. It is a sin offering.

²⁵ Then the priest is to take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger and put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour out the rest of the blood at the bottom of the altar.

²⁶ He shall burn all its fat on the altar like the fat of the peace offerings. In this way the priest will make the man's sin right, and he will be forgiven.

²⁷ If any other Israelite sins unintentionally and does what is not permitted by any of the commandments of the Lord his God, he is guilty.

²⁸ When he realizes his sin, he must bring a female goat without defects as his offering for that sin.

²⁹ He must put his hand on the head of the sin offering and kill it at the place at the place of the burnt offering.

⁵ And the Priest that is anointed shall take of the bullocks blood, and bring it into the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

⁶ Then the Priest shall dippe his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seuen times before the Lord, before the vaile of the Sanctuarie.

⁷ The Priest also shall put some of the blood before the Lord, vpon the hornes of the altar of sweete incense, which is in the Tabernacle of the Congregation, then shall hee powre all the rest of the blood of the bullocke at the foote of the altar of burnt offring, which is at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation.

⁸ And hee shall take away all the fat of the bullocke for the sinne offring: to wit, the fat that couereth the inwardes, and all the fatte that is about the inwardes.

⁹ He shall take away also the two kidneis, and the fat that is vpon them, and vpon the flankes, and the kall vpon the liuer with the kidneis,

¹⁰ As it was taken away from the bullock of the peace offrings, and the Priest shall burne them vpon the altar of burnt offring.

¹¹ But the skinne of the bullocke, and all his flesh, with his heade, and his legs, and his inwardes, and his dung shall he beare out.

¹² So he shall cary the whole bullocke out of the host vnto a cleane place, where the ashes are powred, and shall burne him on ye wood in the fire: where ye ashes are cast out, shall he be burnt.

¹³ And if the whole Congregation of Israel shall sinne through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the multitude, and haue done against any of the commandements of the Lord which should not be done, and haue offended:

¹⁴ When the sinne which they haue committed shalbe knowen, then the Congregation shall offer a yong bullocke for the sinne, and bring him before the Tabernacle of the Congregation,

¹⁵ And the Elders of the Congregation shall put their handes vpon the head of the bullocke before the Lord, and he shall kill the bullocke before the Lord.

¹⁶ Then the Priest that is anointed, shall bring of the bullockes blood into the Tabernacle of the Congregation,

¹⁷ And the Priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seuen times before the Lord, euen before the vaile.

¹⁸ Also he shall put some of ye blood vpon the hornes of the altar, which is before the Lord, that is in the Tabernacle of the Congregation: then shall he powre all the rest, of the blood at ye foote of the altar of burnt offring, which is at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation,

¹⁹ And he shall take all his fat from him, and burne it vpon the altar.

²⁰ And the Priest shall doe with this bullocke, as he did with the bullocke for his sinne: so shall he do with this: so the Priest shall make an atonement for them, and it shalbe forgiuen them.

²² When a ruler shall sinne, and do through ignorance against any of the commandements of the Lord his God, which should not be done, and shall offend,

²³ If one shewe vnto him his sinne, which he hath committed, the shall he bring for his offring an hee goat without blemish,

²⁴ And shall lay his hand vpon the heade of the he goate, and kill it in the place where he should kill the burnt offring before the Lord: for it is a sinne offring.

²⁵ Then the Priest shall take of the blood of the sinne offring with his finger, and put it vpon the hornes of the burnt offring altar, and shall powre the rest of his blood at the foote of the burnt offring altar,

²⁷ Likewise if any of the people of ye lande shall sinne through ignoraunce in doing against any of the commandements of the Lord, which should not be done, and shall offend,

⁸ And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering he shall take off from it; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the lobe above the liver, which he shall take away by the kidneys,

¹⁰ as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace-offerings; and the priest shall make them smoke upon the altar of burnt-offering.

¹¹ But the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, with its head, and with its legs, and its inwards, and its dung,

¹² even the whole bullock shall he carry forth without the camp unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire; where the ashes are poured out shall it be burnt.

¹³ And if the whole congregation of Israel shall err, the thing being hid from the eyes of the assembly, and do any of the things which the LORD hath commanded not to be done, and are guilty:

¹⁴ when the sin wherein they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bullock for a sin-offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting.

¹⁵ And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock before the LORD; and the bullock shall be killed before the LORD.

¹⁶ And the anointed priest shall bring of the blood of the bullock to the tent of meeting.

¹⁷ And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before the LORD, in front of the veil.

¹⁸ And he shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before the LORD, that is in the tent of meeting, and all the remaining blood shall he pour out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

⁹ And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is on the flanks, and the midriff above the liver, with the kidneys, shall he remove it;

¹⁰ As it is taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace-offering; and the priest shall burn the same upon the altar of burnt-offering.

¹¹ And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,

¹² Even the whole bullock, shall he carry forth without the camp, unto a clean place, to where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fire; upon where the ashes are poured out shall he be burnt.

¹³ And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and a thing be hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they do any one of all the prohibitions of the Lord which ought not to be done, and they become guilty;

¹⁴ When now the sin becometh known, through which they have sinned: then shall the congregation offer a young bullock for a sin-offering, and shall bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.

²⁷ And if any person of the common people should sin through ignorance, by his doing any one of the prohibitions of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and become guilty;

²⁸ If now his sin, which he hath committed, come to his knowledge: then shall he bring as his offering, a goat, a female, without blemish, for his sin which he hath committed;

²⁹ And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin-offering, and slay the sin-offering on the place of the burnt-offering.

⁵ And the anointed priest who has been consecrated having received of the blood of the calf, shall then bring it into the tabernacle of witness.

⁶ And the priest shall dip his finger into the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lord, over against the holy veil.

⁷ And the priest shall put of the blood of the calf on the horns of the altar of the compound incense which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and all the blood of the calf shall he pour out by the foot of the altar of whole burnt offerings, which is by the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

⁸ And all the fat of the calf of the sin offering shall he take off from it; the fat that covers the innards, and all the fat that is on the innards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is on the thighs, and the caul that is on the liver with the kidneys, them shall he take away,

¹⁰ as he takes it away from the calf of the sacrifice of peace offering, so shall the priest offer it on the altar of burnt offering.

¹¹ And they shall take the skin of the calf, and all his flesh with the head and the extremities and the belly and the dung,

¹² and they shall carry out the whole calf out of the camp into a clean place, where they pour out the ashes, and they shall consume it there on wood with fire: it shall be burned on the ashes poured out.

¹³ And if the whole congregation of Israel trespass ignorantly, and a thing should escape the notice of the congregation, and they should do one thing forbidden of any of the commands of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and should transgress:

¹⁴ and the sin wherein they have sinned should become known to them, then shall the congregation bring an unblemished calf of the herd for a sin offering, and they shall bring it to the doors of the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁵ And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands on the head of the calf before the Lord, and they shall slay the calf before the Lord.

¹⁶ And the anointed priest shall bring in of the blood of the calf into the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁷ And the priest shall dip his finger into some of the blood of the calf, and shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, in front of the veil of the sanctuary.

¹⁸ And the priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of the incense of composition, which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of witness; and he shall pour out all the blood at the bottom of the altar of whole burnt offerings, which is by the door of the tabernacle of witness.

¹⁹ And he shall take away all the fat from it, and shall offer it up on the altar.

²⁰ And he shall do to the calf as he did to the calf of the sin offering, so shall it be done; and the priest shall make atonement for them, and the trespass shall be forgiven them.

²¹ And they shall carry forth the calf whole without the camp, and they shall burn the calf as they burned the former calf: it is the sin offering of the congregation.

²² And if a ruler sin, and break one of all the commands of the Lord his God, doing the thing which ought not to be done, unwillingly, and shall sin and trespass,

²³ and his trespass wherein he has sinned, be known to him—then shall he offer for his gift a kid of the goats, a male without blemish.

²⁴ And he shall lay his hand on the head of the kid, and they shall kill it in the place where they kill the victims for whole burnt offerings before the Lord; it is a sin offering.

²⁵ And the priest shall put some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger on the horns of the altar of whole burnt offering; and he shall pour out all its blood by the bottom of the altar of whole burnt offerings.

²⁶ And he shall offer up all his fat on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

²⁷ And if a soul of the people of the land should sin unwillingly, in doing a thing contrary to any of the commandments of the Lord, which ought not to be done, and shall transgress,

²⁸ and his sin should be known to him, wherein he has sinned, then shall he bring a kid of the goats, a female without blemish shall he bring for his sin, which he has sinned.

²⁹ And he shall lay his hand on the head of his sin offering, and they shall slay the kid of the sin offering in the place where they slay the victims for whole burnt offerings.

⁶ And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle (some) of the blood seven times in the presence of the Lord before the veil of the sanctuary.

⁷ And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord in the tabernacle of ordinance, and all the (remaining) blood of the bullock he shall pour out at the foundation of the altar of burnt sacrifice which is at the door of the tabernacle of ordinance.

⁸ And all the fat of the bullock of the sin offering he shall separate from it; the fat which covereth the inwards, and all the fat which is upon the inwards,

⁹ And the two kidneys, and the fat which is upon them that is by the flanks; and the caul that is upon the liver, together with the kidneys, he shall remove,

¹⁰ as it was separated from the bullock of the consecrated victims, and the priest shall offer it upon the altar of burnt sacrifice.

¹¹ But the skin of the bullock and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his food,

¹² he shall carry forth, even the whole bullock, without the camp unto a clean place, to a place for the pouring out of ashes, and burn him upon wood in the fire; at the place for the pouring out of ashes shall he be burned.

¹³ And if the whole congregation (kenishta) of Israel shall mistake, and the thing be hid form the eyes of the assembly, (kehala), and they shall have done (somewhat against) one of all the commandments of the Lord which it is not right to do, and have become guilty;

¹⁴ When the sin that they have sinned is known, the assembly shall offer a young bullock for a sin offering, and bring him before the tabernacle of ordinance.

¹⁵ And the elders of the congregation shall lay their hands upon the head of the bullock in the presence of the Lord, and kill the bullock before the Lord.

²² Should a ruler sin and do (contrary to) any of the commandments of the Lord his God what is not right to do, through ignorance, and be guilty;

²³ When his sin becomes known to him in what he hath transgressed, he shall bring his oblation, a kid of the goats, a male, unblemished;

²⁴ And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill him at the place where the burnt sacrifice is slain before the Lord; it is a sin offering.

²⁵ And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt sacrifice, and pour out the blood at the foundation of the altar of burnt sacrifice.

²⁶ And he shall burn all the fat at the altar, as the fat of the sanctified oblation (is burned); and the priest shall atone on his behalf for his sin, and it shall be forgiven him.

²⁷ And if one of the people of the land inadvertently sin in doing contrary to any of the commandments of the Lord what is not right to do, and become guilty;

²⁸ When his sin is known to him, in what he hath sinned, he shall bring his oblation, a female kid of the goats, unblemished, for the sin that he hath sinned.

²⁹ And he shall lay his hand on the lead of the sin offering, and kill the sin offering at the place of burnt sacrifice;

⁵ The anointed priest shall take some of the blood of the bull, and bring it to the Tent of Meeting.

⁷ The priest shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Adonai , which is in the Tent of Meeting; and he shall pour out all of rest of the blood of the bull at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

⁸ He shall take all the fat of the bull of the sin offering off of it; the fat that covers the innards, and all the fat that is on the innards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall take away,

¹⁰ as it is taken off of the bull of the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar of burnt offering.

¹¹ The bull’s skin, all its meat, with its head, and with its legs, its innards, and its dung,

¹² he shall carry the whole bull outside of the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. Where the ashes are poured out, it shall be burned.

¹³ “‘If the whole congregation of Israel God prevails sins, and the thing is hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done something against any the mitzvot ·instructions· of Adonai concerning things which should not be done, they are guilty.

¹⁴ When the sin in which they have sinned is known, then the assembly shall offer a young bull for a sin offering, and bring it before the Tent of Meeting.

¹⁸ He shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before Adonai , that is in the Tent of Meeting; and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tent of Meeting.

⁸ He will cut away all the fat of the bull of the sin offering; the fat that covers the inner parts, all the fat that is attached to the inner parts,

⁹ the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the lobe of the liver, with the kidneys—he will cut away all this.

¹⁰ He will cut it all away, just as he cuts it off from the bull of the sacrifice of peace offerings. Then the priest will burn these parts on the altar for burnt offerings.

¹¹ The skin of the bull and any remaining meat, with its head and with its legs and its inner parts and its dung,

¹² all the rest of the parts of the bull—he will carry all these parts outside the camp to a place that they have cleansed for me, where they pour out the ashes; they will burn those parts there on wood. They must burn those parts where they pour out the ashes.

¹³ If the whole assembly of Israel sins without wanting to sin, and the assembly is unaware that they have sinned and done any of the things which Yahweh has commanded not to be done, and if they are guilty,

¹⁴ then, when the sin they have committed becomes known, then the assembly must offer a young bull for a sin offering and bring it before the tent of meeting.

¹⁰ As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace-offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt-offering.

¹¹ And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,

⁷ And he shall put of the same blood on the corners of the altar of incense most acceptable to the Lord, which altar is in the tabernacle of witnessing; soothly he shall pour all the tother blood into the foundament of the altar of burnt sacrifice in the entering of the tabernacle.

⁸ And he shall offer for his sin the inner fatness of the calf, as well it that covereth the entrails, as all things that be within,

⁹ two little reins, and the caul, which is on them, beside the ileum, and the fatness of the maw, with the little reins,

¹⁰ as it is offered of the calf of the sacrifice of peaceable things; and the priest shall burn those things on the altar of burnt sacrifice.

¹¹ Soothly the priest shall bear out of the tents, the skin, and all the flesh, with the head, and the feet, and the entrails, and the dung,

¹² and the body that is left, into a clean place, where the ashes be wont to be poured out; and he shall burn those things upon the heap of wood, the which shall be burnt in the place of ashes poured out.

¹³ That if all the company of the sons of Israel knoweth not, and doeth by unknowing that that is against the commandment of the Lord,

¹⁴ and afterward understandeth his sin, he shall offer a calf for that sin, and he shall bring the calf to the door of the tabernacle.

¹⁵ And the elder men of the people shall set or put hands on the head thereof before the Lord; and when the calf is offered in the sight of the Lord,

¹⁶ the priest that is anointed shall bear in of his blood into the tabernacle of witnessing;

¹⁷ and when he hath dipped his finger, he shall sprinkle the blood seven times against the veil.

¹⁸ And he shall put of the same blood in the horns of the altar, which is before the Lord in the tabernacle of witnessing; soothly he shall pour the blood that leaveth beside the foundament of the altar of burnt sacrifice, which is in the door of the tabernacle of witnessing.

¹⁹ And he shall take all the fatness thereof, and shall burn it on the altar;

²⁰ and he shall do also of this calf, as he did before of the tother; and when the priest shall pray for them, the Lord shall be merciful.

²¹ Forsooth he shall bear out of the tents that calf, and he shall burn it, as he did also the former calf, for it is for the sin of the multitude.

²² If a prince sinneth, and doeth by ignorance one thing of many, which is forbidden in the law of the Lord,

²³ and afterward understandeth his sin, he shall offer to the Lord a sacrifice, a goat buck, without wem;

²⁶ Soothly the priest shall burn the inner fatness above the altar, as it is wont to be done in the sacrifice of peaceable things, and the priest shall pray for him, and for his sin, and it shall be forgiven to him.

²⁷ That if a soul, that is, a singular man, of the people of the land sinneth by ignorance, that he do anything of these things that be forbidden in the law of the Lord, and trespasseth,

²⁸ and knoweth his sin, he shall offer a she-goat without wem;

²⁹ and he shall set his hand upon the head of the sacrifice which is for the sin, and he shall offer it in the place of the burnt sacrifice.

⁵ And he shall take up of the blood of the calf, and shall bring it into the tabernacle of witnessing. (And he shall take some of the calf’s blood, and shall bring it into the Tabernacle of the Witnessing.)

⁶ And when he hath dipped his finger into the blood, he shall sprinkle it seven times before the Lord, against the veil of the saintuary (or in front of the Veil of the sanctuary).

⁷ And he shall put of the same blood on the corners of the altar of incense most acceptable to the Lord, which altar is in the tabernacle of witnessing; soothly he shall shed all the tother blood into the foundament of the altar of burnt sacrifice in the entering of the tabernacle. (And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense to the Lord, which altar is in the Tabernacle of the Witnessing; and he shall pour out all the other blood at the foundation, or at the base, of the altar of burnt sacrifice at the entrance to the Tabernacle.)

⁸ And he shall offer for his sin the inner fatness of the calf, as well it that covereth the entrails, as all things that be within, (And for his sin offering, he shall offer the inner fat of the calf, which covereth the innards, as well as all the things that be within,)

⁹ (and the) two little reins, and the caul, which is on them, beside the ileum, and the fatness of the maw, with the little reins,

¹⁰ as it is offered of the calf of the sacrifice of peaceable things (or as it is offered from the calf for the peace offering); and the priest shall burn those things on the altar of (the) burnt sacrifice.

¹¹ Soothly the priest shall bear out of the tents (or And the priest shall carry away from the tents, or from the camp), the skin, and all the flesh, with the head, and the feet, and the entrails, and the dung,

¹² and the body that is left, into a clean place, where the ashes be wont to be poured out; and he shall burn those things upon the heap of wood, the which shall be burnt in the place of ashes poured out (or which shall be burned in the place where the ashes be poured out).

¹³ That if all the company of the sons of Israel knoweth not (or And if all the congregation of the Israelites knoweth not), and doeth by unknowing that that is against the commandment of the Lord,

¹⁴ and afterward understandeth his sin, he shall offer a calf for that sin, and he shall bring the calf to the door of the tabernacle. (and afterward understand their sin, they shall offer a calf for a sin offering, and they shall bring the calf to the entrance, or to the front, of the Tabernacle.)

¹⁵ And the elder men of the people shall set hands on the head thereof before the Lord; and when the calf is offered in the sight of the Lord, (And the elders of the people shall put their hands on its head before the Lord; and when the calf is killed before the Lord,)

¹⁶ the priest that is anointed shall bear in of his blood into the tabernacle of witnessing; (the anointed priest shall bring some of its blood into the Tabernacle of the Witnessing;)

¹⁷ and when he hath dipped his finger, he shall sprinkle the blood seven times against the veil. (and when he hath dipped his finger in it, he shall sprinkle the blood in front of the Veil seven times before the Lord.)

¹⁸ And he shall put of the same blood in the horns of the altar, which is before the Lord in the tabernacle of witnessing; soothly he shall pour the blood that leaveth, (or the residue blood), beside the foundament of the altar of burnt sacrifice, which is in the door of the tabernacle of witnessing. (And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar, which is before the Lord in the Tabernacle of the Witnessing; and he shall pour out the blood that is left at the foundation, or at the base, of the altar of burnt sacrifice, which is at the entrance to the Tabernacle of the Witnessing.)

¹⁹ And he shall take all the fatness thereof, and shall burn it on the altar;

²⁰ and he shall do also of this calf, as he did before of the tother, (or and so he shall do with this calf, as he did before with the other one); and when the priest shall pray for them, the Lord shall be merciful.

²¹ Forsooth he shall bear out of the tents that calf, and he shall burn it, as he did also the former calf, for it is for the sin of the multitude. (And he shall carry that calf out away from the tents, and he shall burn it, as he burned the other calf, for it is a sin offering for the multitude.)

²² If a prince sinneth, and doeth by ignorance one thing of many, which is forbidden in the law of the Lord,

²³ and afterward understandeth his sin, he shall offer to the Lord a sacrifice, a goat buck, without wem, (or without blemish, or fault);

²⁴ and he shall set his hand on the head thereof. And when he hath offered it in the place, where the burnt sacrifice is wont to be slain, before the Lord, for it is for sin (or for it is a sin offering);

²⁵ the priest shall dip his finger in the blood of the sacrifice for sin, and he shall touch with his bloody finger the corners of the altar of burnt sacrifice, and he shall pour the blood that leaveth, (or the residue blood), at the foundament thereof. (the priest shall dip his finger in the blood of the sin offering, and he shall touch with his bloody finger the horns of the altar of burnt sacrifice, and he shall pour out the blood that is left at the foundation, or at the base, of the altar.)

⁶ And whanne he hath dippid the fyngir in to the blood, he schal sprenge it seuen sithis bifor the Lord, ayens the veil of the seyntuarie.

⁷ And he schal putte of the same blood on the corners of the auter of encense moost acceptable to the Lord, which auter is in the tabernacle of witnessyng; sotheli he schal schede al the `tother blood in to the foundement of the auter of brent sacrifice in the entryng of the tabernacle.

⁸ And he schal offre for synne the ynnere fatnesse of the calf, as well it that hilith the entrails, as alle thingis that ben with ynne,

⁹ twei litle reynes, and the calle, which is on tho bisidis ilion, and the fatnesse of the mawe,

¹⁰ with the litle reines, as it is offrid of the calf of the sacrifice of pesible thingis; and he schal brenne tho on the auter of brent sacrifice.

¹¹ Sotheli he schal bere out of the castels the skyn, and alle the fleischis, with the heed, and feet, and entrails,

¹² and dung, and the `residue bodi in to a clene place, where aischis ben wont to be sched out; and he schal brenne tho on the heep of trees, whiche schulen be brent in the place of aischis sched out.

¹³ That if al the cumpeny of the sones of Israel knowith not, and doith by vnkunnyng that that is ayens the comaundement of the Lord,

¹⁴ and aftirward vndirstondith his synne, it schal offre a calf for synne, and it schal brynge the calf to the dore of the tabernacle.

¹⁵ And the eldere men of the puple schulen sette hondis on the heed therof bifor the Lord; and whanne the calf is offrid in the siyt of the Lord,

¹⁶ the preest which is anoyntid schal bere ynne of his blood in to the tabernacle of witnessyng;

¹⁷ and whanne the fyngur `is dippid, he schal sprenge seuen sithis ayens the veil.

¹⁸ And he schal putte of the same blood in the hornes of the auter, which is bifor the Lord in the tabernacle of witnessyng; sotheli he schal schede the `residue blood bisidis the foundement of the auter of brent sacrifice, which is in the dore of tabernacle of witnessyng.

¹⁹ And he schal take al the fatnesse therof, and schal brenne it on the auter;

²⁰ and so he schal do also of this calf, as he dide also bifor; and whanne the prest schal preye for hem, the Lord schal be merciful.

²¹ Forsothe he schal bere out thilke calf, and schal brenne it, as also the formere calf, for it is for the synne of the multitude.

²³ and aftirward vndirstondith his synne, he schal offre to the Lord a sacrifice, a `buk of geet, `that hath no wem;

²⁴ and he schal sette his hond on the heed therof. And whanne he hath offrid it in the place, where brent sacrifice is wont to be slayn, bifor the Lord, for it is for synne;

²⁵ the preest schal dippe the fyngur in the blood of sacrifice for synne, and he schal touche the corneris of the auter of brent sacrifice, and he schal schede the `residue blood at the foundement therof.

²⁶ Sotheli the preest schal brenne the innere fatnesse aboue the auter, as it is wont to be doon in the sacrifice of pesible thingis, and the preest schal preye for hym, and for his synne, and it schal be foryouun to hym.

²⁷ That if a soule of the puple of the lond synneth bi ignoraunce, that he do ony thing of these that ben forbodun in the lawe of the Lord, and trespassith,

²⁸ and knowith his synne, he schal offre a geet without wem;

²⁹ and he schal sette hond on the heed of the sacrifice which is for synne, and he schal offre it in the place of brent sacrifice.

⁵ 'And the priest who is anointed hath taken of the blood of the bullock, and hath brought it in unto the tent of meeting,

⁶ and the priest hath dipped his finger in the blood, and sprinkled of the blood seven times before Jehovah, at the front of the vail of the sanctuary;

⁷ and the priest hath put of the blood on the horns of the altar of spice-perfume before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting, and all the blood of the bullock he doth pour out at the foundation of the altar of the burnt-offering, which is at the opening of the tent of meeting.

⁸ 'And all the fat of the bullock of the sin-offering he doth lift up from it, the fat which is covering over the inwards, and all the fat which is on the inwards,

⁹ and the two kidneys, and the fat which is on them, which is on the flanks, and the redundance above the liver, (beside the kidneys he doth turn it aside),

¹⁰ as it is lifted up from the ox of the sacrifice of the peace-offerings; and the priest hath made them a perfume on the altar of the burnt-offering.

¹¹ 'And the skin of the bullock, and all its flesh, besides its head, and besides its legs, and its inwards, and its dung —

¹² he hath even brought out the whole bullock unto the outside of the camp, unto a clean place, unto the place of the pouring out of the ashes, and he hath burnt it on the wood with fire; beside the place of the pouring out of the ashes it is burnt.

¹³ 'And if the whole company of Israel err ignorantly, and the thing hath been hidden from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done something against one of all the commands of Jehovah concerning things which are not to be done, and have been guilty;

¹⁴ when the sin which they have sinned concerning it hath been known, then have the assembly brought near a bullock, a son of the herd, for a sin-offering, and they have brought it in before the tent of meeting;

¹⁵ and the elders of the company have laid their hands on the head of the bullock, before Jehovah, and one hath slaughtered the bullock before Jehovah.

¹⁶ 'And the priest who is anointed hath brought in of the blood of the bullock unto the tent of meeting,

¹⁷ and the priest hath dipped his finger in the blood, and hath sprinkled seven times before Jehovah at the front of the vail,

¹⁸ and some of the blood he doth put on the horns of the altar which is before Jehovah, which is in the tent of meeting; and all the blood he doth pour out at the foundation of the altar of the burnt-offering, which is at the opening of the tent of meeting;

¹⁹ and all its fat he doth lift up from it, and hath made perfume on the altar.

²⁰ 'And he hath done to the bullock as he hath done to the bullock of the sin-offering, so he doth to it; and the priest hath made atonement for them, and it hath been forgiven them;

²³ or his sin wherein he hath sinned hath been made known unto him, then he hath brought in his offering, a kid of the goats, a male, a perfect one,

²⁴ and he hath laid his hand on the head of the goat, and hath slaughtered it in the place where he doth slaughter the burnt-offering before Jehovah; it is a sin-offering.

²⁵ 'And the priest hath taken of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and hath put on the horns of the altar of the burnt-offering, and its blood he doth pour out at the foundation of the altar of the burnt-offering,

²⁶ and with all its fat he doth make perfume on the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of the peace-offerings; and the priest hath made atonement for him because of his sin, and it hath been forgiven him.

²⁷ 'And if any person of the people of the land sin through ignorance, by his doing something against one of the commands of Jehovah regarding things which are not to be done, and hath been guilty —

²⁸ or his sin which he hath sinned hath been made known unto him, then he hath brought in his offering, a kid of the goats, a perfect one, a female, for his sin which he hath sinned,

²⁹ and he hath laid his hand on the head of the sin-offering, and hath slaughtered the sin-offering in the place of the burnt-offering.
