Leviticus 3:1-15 in English

¹ And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace-offerings; if he offer of the herd, whether male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before Jehovah.

² And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and kill it at the door of the tent of meeting: and Aaron’s sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

³ And he shall offer of the sacrifice of peace-offerings an offering made by fire unto Jehovah; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

⁴ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys, shall he take away.

⁵ And Aaron’s sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt-offering, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor unto Jehovah.

⁶ And if his oblation for a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah be of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.

⁷ If he offer a lamb for his oblation, then shall he offer it before Jehovah;

⁸ and he shall lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and kill it before the tent of meeting: and Aaron’s sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

¹¹ And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

⁴ And the two kidneys and the fat that is upon them; he shall take away that which is on the thighs, and the caul above the liver together with the kidneys.

⁵ And the priests the sons of Aaron shall offer them on the altar on the burnt-offering, on the wood which is on the fire upon the altar: it is a burnt-offering, a smell of sweet savour to the Lord.

⁶ And if his gift be of the sheep, a peace-offering to the Lord, male or female, he shall bring it unblemished.

⁷ If he bring a lamb for his gift, he shall bring it before the Lord.

⁸ And he shall lay his hands on the head of his offering, and shall slay it by the doors of the tabernacle of witness; and the priests the sons of Aaron shall pour out the blood on the altar round about.

⁹ And he shall bring of the peace-offering a burnt-sacrifice to the Lord: the fat and the hinder part unblemished he shall take away with the loins, and having taken away all the fat that covers the belly, and all the fat that is on the belly,

¹⁰ and both the kidneys and the fat that is upon them, and that which is on the thighs, and the caul which is on the liver with the kidneys,

¹¹ the priest shall offer these on the altar: it is a sacrifice of sweet savour, a burnt-offering to the Lord.

¹² And if his offering be of the goats, then shall he bring it before the Lord.

¹³ And he shall lay his hands on its head; and they shall slay it before the Lord by the doors of the tabernacle of witness; and the priests the sons of Aaron shall pour out the blood on the altar round about.

¹ “Also tell the people, ‘When the offering that you bring to Yahweh is to maintain good fellowship with him, you may bring a bull or a cow from your herd of cattle, but what you present to Yahweh must be an animal that has no defects.

² You must bring the animal to the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it and drain some of its blood in a bowl. Then one of Aaron's sons, one of the priests, will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

³ From that offering, you must offer to Yahweh, as a sacrifice that will be burned in the fire, all the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal, or which is attached to them—

⁴ the kidneys and the fat that is attached to them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

⁵ Then one of the priests will burn those things on the altar, along with the other parts of the animal that will be completely burned to be an offering to Yahweh. And the aroma while it burns will be pleasing to Yahweh.

⁶ If that offering to maintain good fellowship with Yahweh is a sheep or a goat, it must also be an animal that has no defects.

⁷ If you offer a lamb, you must present it to Yahweh at the entrance to the Sacred Tent. You must lay your hands on the lamb's head and then slaughter it. You must drain some of its blood in a bowl.

⁸ Then one of the priests will sprinkle that blood against all sides of the altar.

⁹ You must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: Its fat, the fat tail that you must cut off close to the backbone, and all the fat that covers the inner parts of the lamb or which is attached to them—

¹⁰ the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

¹¹ One of the priests will burn those things on the altar to be an offering to Yahweh; it will be as though they will be a special food given to Yahweh.

¹² If your offering is a goat, you must take/present it to Yahweh.

¹³ You must lay your hands on its head. Then you must slaughter it in front of the Sacred Tent. Then one of Aaron's sons will sprinkle the blood against all sides of the altar.

¹⁴ From that offering you must dedicate these things to be a sacrifice to Yahweh that is burned: All the fat that covers the inner parts of the animal or which is attached to them,

¹⁵ the kidneys with the fat that is on them near the lower back muscle, and the fat that covers the liver.

³ And he is to give of the peace-offering, as an offering made by fire to the Lord; the fat covering the inside parts and all the fat on the inside parts,

⁴ And the two kidneys, and the fat on them, which is by the top part of the legs, and the fat joining the liver and the kidneys, he is to take away;

⁵ That it may be burned by Aaron's sons on the altar, on the burned offering which is on the wood on the fire: it is an offering made by fire of a sweet smell to the Lord.

⁶ And if what he gives for a peace-offering to the Lord is of the flock, let him give a male or female, without any mark on it.

⁷ If his offering is a lamb, then let it be placed before the Lord:

⁸ And he is to put his hand on the head of his offering and put it to death before the Tent of meeting; and Aaron's sons are to put some of its blood on and round the altar.

⁹ And of the peace-offering, let him give an offering made by fire to the Lord; the fat of it, all the fat tail, he is to take away near the backbone; and the fat covering the inside parts and all the fat on the inside parts,

⁵ and Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt-offering which lieth on the wood that is upon the fire: it is an offering by fire to Jehovah of a sweet odour.

⁶ And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah be of small cattle, male or female, he shall present it without blemish.

⁷ If he present a sheep for his offering, then shall he present it before Jehovah,

⁸ and shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and slaughter it before the tent of meeting; and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

⁵ And they shall burn them upon the altar, for a holocaust, putting fire under the wood: for an oblation of most sweet savour to the Lord.

⁶ But if his oblation and the sacrifice of peace offering be of the flock, whether he offer male or female, they shall be without blemish.

⁷ If he offer a lamb before the Lord,

⁸ He shall put his hand upon the head of his victim: and it shall be slain in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony: and the sons of Aaron shall pour the blood thereof round about upon the altar.

⁹ And they shall offer of the victim of peace offerings a sacrifice to the Lord: the fat and the whole rump,

¹⁰ With the kidneys, and the fat that covereth the belly and all the vitals and both the little kidneys, with the fat that is about the flanks, and the caul of the liver with the little kidneys.

¹¹ And the priest shall burn them upon the altar, for the food of the fire, and of the oblation of the Lord.

¹² If his offering be a goat, and he offer it to the Lord,

¹³ He shall put his hand upon the head thereof: and shall immolate it in the entry of the tabernacle of the testimony. And the sons of Aaron shall pour the blood thereof round about upon the altar.

¹⁴ And they shall take of it for the food of the Lord’s fire, the fat that covereth the belly, and that covereth all the vital parts:

¹⁵ The two little kidneys with the caul that is upon them which is by the flanks, and the fat of the liver with the little kidneys:

¹ “When you want to give a peace offering and you offer an animal from a herd of cattle, whether male or female, you must present one without any defects before the Lord.

² Put your hand on the head of the offering and kill it at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron's sons the priests will sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar.

³ From the peace offering you are to bring a food offering to the Lord: all the fat that covers the insides,

⁴ both kidneys with the fat on them by the loins, and the best part of the liver, which you are to remove together with the kidneys.

⁵ Aaron's sons are to burn this on the altar on top of the burnt offering that is on the burning wood, as a food offering, to be accepted by the Lord.

⁶ When you want to give a peace offering and you offer an animal from a flock of sheep or goats, either male or female, you must present one without any defects before the Lord.

⁷ If you are giving a lamb as your offering, you must present it before the Lord.

⁸ Put your hand on the head of the offering and kill it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron's sons the priests will sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar.

⁹ From the peace offering you are to bring a food offering to the Lord made up of its fat: the whole fat tail removed from close to the tailbone, all the fat that covers the insides,

¹⁰ both kidneys with the fat on them by the loins, and the best part of the liver, which you are to remove together with the kidneys.

¹¹ Then the priest is to burn this on the altar as a food offering, a food offering to the Lord.

¹² If your offering is a goat, you are to present it before the Lord.

¹³ Put your hand on its head and kill it in front of the Tent of Meeting. Then Aaron's sons the priests will sprinkle the blood on all sides of the altar.

¹⁴ From your offering you are to present a food offering to the Lord made up of all the fat that covers the insides,

¹⁵ both kidneys with the fat on them by the loins, and the best part of the liver, which you are to remove together with the kidneys.

¹ Also if his oblation be a peace offering, if he will offer of the droue (whether it be male or female) he shall offer such as is without blemish, before the Lord,

² And shall put his hande vpon the head of his offering, and kill it at the doore of the Tabernacle of the Congregation: and Aarons sonnes the Priestes shall sprinkle the blood vpon the altar rounde about.

³ So he shall offer part of the peace offerings as a sacrifice made by fire vnto the Lord, euen the fat that couereth the inwardes, and all the fat that is vpon the inwardes.

⁴ He shall also take away the two kidneis, and the fat that is on them, and vpon the flankes, and the kall on the liuer with the kidneis.

⁵ And Aarons sonnes shall burne it on the altar, with the burnt offering, which is vpon the wood, that is on the fire: this is a sacrifice made by fire for a sweete sauour vnto the Lord.

³ And they shall bring of the peace offering a burnt sacrifice to the Lord, the fat covering the belly, and all the fat on the belly.

⁴ And the two kidneys and the fat that is upon them; he shall take away that which is on the thighs, and the caul above the liver together with the kidneys.

⁵ And the priests the sons of Aaron shall offer them on the altar on the burnt offering, on the wood which is on the fire upon the altar: it is a burnt offering, a smell of sweet savor to the Lord.

⁶ And if his gift be of the sheep, a peace offering to the Lord, male or female, he shall bring it unblemished.

⁷ If he bring a lamb for his gift, he shall bring it before the Lord.

⁸ And he shall lay his hands on the head of his offering, and shall slay it by the doors of the tabernacle of witness; and the priests the sons of Aaron shall pour out the blood on the altar round about.

⁹ And he shall bring of the peace offering a burnt sacrifice to the Lord: the fat and the hinder part unblemished he shall take away with the loins, and having taken away all the fat that covers the belly, and all the fat that is on the belly,

¹⁰ and both the kidneys and the fat that is upon them, and that which is on the thighs, and the caul which is on the liver with the kidneys,

¹¹ the priest shall offer these on the altar: it is a sacrifice of sweet savor, a burnt offering to the Lord.

¹² And if his offering be of the goats, then shall he bring it before the Lord.

⁵ And the sons of Aharon shall burn it at the altar, with the burnt offering which is on the wood upon the fire, an oblation to be received with grace before the Lord.

⁶ But if his oblation of a consecrated victim before the Lord be from the flock, whether male or female, he shall offer it perfect.

⁷ If his oblation be a lamb, he shall present it before the Lord,

⁸ and lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and slay it before the tabernacle of ordinance; and the sons of Aharon shall sprinkle its blood upon the altar round about.

⁵ Aaron Light-bringer’s sons shall burn it on the altar on the burnt offering, which is on the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a pleasant aroma to Adonai .

¹⁵ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall take away.

¹ If someone offers a sacrifice which is a fellowship offering of an animal from the herd, whether male or female, he must offer an animal without blemish before Yahweh.

² He will lay his hand on the head of his offering and kill it at the door of the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons the priests will sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar.

³ The man will offer the sacrifice of a fellowship offering by fire to Yahweh. The fat that covers or is connected to the inner parts,

⁴ and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them by the loins, and the lobe of the liver, with the kidneys—he will remove all of this.

⁵ Aaron's sons will burn that on the altar with the burnt offering, which is on the wood that is on the fire. This will produce a sweet aroma for Yahweh; it will be an offering made to him by fire.

⁶ If the man's sacrifice of a fellowship offering to Yahweh is from the flock; male or female, he must offer a sacrifice without blemish.

⁷ If he offers a lamb for his sacrifice, then he must offer it before Yahweh.

⁸ He will lay his hand on the head of his sacrifice and kill it before the tent of meeting. Then Aaron's sons will sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar.

⁹ The man will offer the sacrifice of fellowship offerings as an offering made by fire to Yahweh. The fat, the entire fat tail cut away close to the backbone, and the fat that covers the inner parts and all the fat that is near the inner parts,

¹⁰ and the two kidneys and the fat that is with them, which is by the loins, and the lobe of the liver, with the kidneys—he will remove all of this.

¹¹ Then the priest will burn it all on the altar as a burnt offering of food to Yahweh.

¹² If the man's offering is a goat, then he will offer it before Yahweh.

¹³ He must lay his hand on the head of the goat and kill it before the tent of meeting. Then the sons of Aaron will sprinkle its blood on the sides of the altar.

¹⁴ The man will offer his sacrifice made by fire to Yahweh. He will remove the fat that covers the inner parts, and all the fat near the inner parts.

¹⁵ He will also remove the two kidneys and the fat that is with them, which is by the loins, and the lobe of the liver with the kidneys.

⁹ He shall offer from the sacrifice of peace offerings an offering made by fire to the LORD; its fat, the entire tail fat, he shall take away close to the backbone; and the fat that covers the entrails, and all the fat that is on the entrails,

¹⁰ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall take away.

¹¹ The priest shall burn it on the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire to the LORD.

¹² “‘If his offering is a goat, then he shall offer it before the LORD.

¹³ He shall lay his hand on its head, and kill it before the Tent of Meeting; and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle its blood around on the altar.

¹⁴ He shall offer from it as his offering, an offering made by fire to the LORD; the fat that covers the innards, and all the fat that is on the innards,

¹⁵ and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the cover on the liver, with the kidneys, he shall take away.

¹ And if his oblation shall be a sacrifice of peace-offering, if he shall offer it of the herd, whether a male or female; he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.

² And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

³ And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace-offering, an offering made by fire to the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

⁴ And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.

⁵ And Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar, upon the burnt-sacrifice which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to the LORD.

⁶ And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace-offering to the LORD shall be of the flock, male or female; he shall offer it without blemish.

⁷ If he shall offer a lamb for his offering, then shall he offer it before the LORD.

⁸ And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood of it around upon the altar.

³ And they shall offer of the sacrifice of peaceable things into offering to the Lord, the fatness that covereth the entrails, and whatever thing of fatness is within;

⁴ they shall offer the two kidneys with the fatness by which the guts called ileum be covered, and the caul of the liver, with the little reins.

⁵ And they shall burn those or them on the altar, into burnt sacrifice, when fire is put under the wood, into offering of the sweetest odour to the Lord.

⁶ Soothly if his offering is of sheep, and a sacrifice of peaceable things, whether he offereth a male or a female, they shall be without wem.

⁷ If he offer a lamb before the Lord,

⁸ he shall set his hand upon the head of his sacrifice, that shall be offered in the porch of the tabernacle of witnessing; and the sons of Aaron shall pour the blood thereof by environ of the altar.

⁹ And they shall offer of the sacrifice of peaceable things a sacrifice to the Lord, the inner fatness, and all the tail with the reins, and the fatness that covereth the womb, and all the entrails,

¹⁰ and ever either little rein, with the fatness which is beside the guts called ileum, and the caul of the maw, with the little reins.

¹¹ And the priest shall burn them upon the altar, into the feeding, or nourishing, of the fire, and of the offering to the Lord.

¹² If his offering is a goat, and he offereth it to the Lord,

¹³ he shall set his hand on the head thereof, and he shall offer it in the entry of the tabernacle of witnessing; and the sons of Aaron shall pour the blood thereof by compass of the altar.

¹⁴ And they shall take thereof, into the feeding, or nourishing, of the Lord’s fire, the fatness that covereth the womb, and that covereth all the entrails,

¹⁵ and the two little reins with the caul that is on those or them beside the ileum, and the fatness of the maw, with the entrails that cleave to the little reins.

¹ That if his offering is a sacrifice of peaceable things, and he will offer of the oxen, he shall offer before the Lord a male, either a female, without wem. (And if his offering is a peace offering, and he will offer it from the oxen, he shall offer before the Lord a male, or a female, without blemish, or without fault.)

³ And they shall offer of the sacrifice of peaceable things into offering to the Lord, the fatness that covereth the entrails, and whatever thing of fatness is within; (And they shall offer for the peace offering, as a burnt sacrifice to the Lord, the fat that covereth the innards, and whatever fat is within;)

⁴ they shall offer the two kidneys with the fatness by which the guts called ileum be covered, and the caul of the liver, with the little reins, (or with the kidneys).

⁵ And they shall burn those on the altar, into burnt sacrifice, when fire is put under the wood, into offering of the sweetest odour to the Lord. (And they shall burn them on the altar, for a burnt sacrifice, when fire is put under the wood, for an offering of the sweetest aroma to the Lord.)

³ And thei schulen offre of the sacrifice of pesible thingis in to offryng to the Lord, the fatnesse that hilith the entrailis, and what euer thing of fatnesse is with ynne;

⁴ thei schulen offre twey kydeneris, with the fatnesse bi which the guttis clepid ylyon ben hilid, and the calle of the lyuer with the litle reynes.

⁵ And thei schulen brenne tho on the auter, in to brent sacrifice, whanne fier is put vndur the trees, in to offryng of swettest odour to the Lord.

⁶ Sotheli if his offryng is of scheep, and a sacrifice of pesible thingis, whether he offrith a male ether a female, tho schulen be without wem.

⁷ If he offrith a lombe bifor the Lord,

⁸ he schal sette his hond on the heed of his sacrifice, that schal be offrid in the porche of the tabernacle of witnessyng; and the sones of Aaron schulen schede the blood therof bi `the cumpas of the auter.

⁹ And thei schulen offre of the sacrifice of pesible thingis a sacrifice to the Lord, the innere fatnesse,

¹⁰ and al the tail with the reynes, and the fatnesse that hilith the wombe, and alle the entrailis, and euer eithir litil reyne, with the fatnesse which is bisidis the `guttis clepid ylion, and the calle of the mawe, with the litle reynes.

¹¹ And the preest schal brenne tho on the auter, in to the fedyng of fier, and of the offryng to the Lord.

¹² If his offryng is a geet, and he offrith it to the Lord,

¹³ he schal sette his hond on the heed therof, and he schal offre it in to the entryng of the tabernacle of witnessyng; and the sones of Aaron schulen schede the blood therof bi the cumpas of the auter.

¹⁴ And thei schulen take therof, in to `the fedyng of the Lordis fier, the fatnesse that hilith the wombe, and that hilith alle the entrailis,

¹⁵ and twei litle reynes with the calle which is on tho bisidis ilion, and the fatnesse of the mawe, with the entrails that cleuen to the litle reynes.

¹ 'And if his offering is a sacrifice of peace-offerings, if out of the herd he is bringing near, whether male or female, a perfect one he doth bring near before Jehovah,

² and he hath laid his hand on the head of his offering, and hath slaughtered it at the opening of the tent of meeting, and sons of Aaron, the priests, have sprinkled the blood on the altar round about.

³ 'And he hath brought near from the sacrifice of the peace-offerings a fire-offering to Jehovah, the fat which is covering the inwards, and all the fat which is on the inwards,

⁴ and the two kidneys, and the fat which is on them, which is on the flanks, and the redundance above the liver, (beside the kidneys he doth turn it aside),

⁵ and sons of Aaron have made it a perfume on the altar, on the burnt-offering which is on the wood, which is on the fire — a fire-offering of sweet fragrance to Jehovah.

⁶ 'And if his offering is out of the flock for a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Jehovah, male or female, a perfect one he doth bring near;

⁷ if a sheep he is bringing near for his offering, then he hath brought it near before Jehovah,

⁸ and hath laid his hand on the head of his offering, and hath slaughtered it before the tent of meeting, and sons of Aaron have sprinkled its blood on the altar round about.

⁹ 'And he hath brought near from the sacrifice of the peace-offerings a fire-offering to Jehovah, its fat, the whole fat tail (over-against the bone he doth turn it aside), and the fat which is covering the inwards, and all the fat which is on the inwards,
