Leviticus 25:4-20 in English

⁴ but in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath unto Jehovah: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

⁵ That which groweth of itself of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gather: it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

⁶ And the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you; for thee, and for thy servant and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant and for thy stranger, who sojourn with thee.

⁷ And for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be for food.

⁸ And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto thee the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years.

⁹ Then shalt thou send abroad the loud trumpet on the tenth day of the seventh month; in the day of atonement shall ye send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land.

¹⁰ And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

¹¹ A jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of the undressed vines.

¹² For it is a jubilee; it shall be holy unto you: ye shall eat the increase thereof out of the field.

¹³ In this year of jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.

¹⁴ And if thou sell aught unto thy neighbor, or buy of thy neighbor’s hand, ye shall not wrong one another.

¹⁶ According to the multitude of the years thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of the years thou shalt diminish the price of it; for the number of the crops doth he sell unto thee.

¹⁷ And ye shall not wrong one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am Jehovah your God.

¹⁸ Wherefore ye shall do my statutes, and keep mine ordinances and do them; and ye shall dwell in the land in safety.

¹⁹ And the land shall yield its fruit, and ye shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

¹⁰ And ye shall sanctify the year, the fiftieth year, and ye shall proclaim a release upon the land to all that inhabit it; it shall be given a year of release, a jubilee for you; and each one shall depart to his possession, and ye shall go each to his family.

¹¹ This is a jubilee of release, the year shall be to you the fiftieth year: ye shall not sow, nor reap the produce that comes of itself from the land, neither shall ye gather its dedicated fruits.

¹² For it is a jubilee of release; it shall be holy to you, ye shall eat its fruits off the fields.

¹³ In the year of the release even the jubilee of it, shall each one return to his possession.

¹⁸ And ye shall keep all my ordinances, and all my judgments; and do ye observe them, and ye shall keep them, and dwell securely in the land.

¹⁹ And the land shall yield her increase, and ye shall eat to fulness, and shall dwell securely in it.

²⁰ And if ye should say, What shall we eat in this seventh year, if we do not sow nor gather in our fruits?

⁵ Do not reap the grain that grows in your fields without having been planted, or harvest the grapes that grow without the vines being pruned; you must allow the land to rest for that one year.

⁶ But you are permitted to eat whatever crops grow by themselves during that year without having been planted. You and your male and female servants, and workers whom you have hired, and people who are living among you temporarily are permitted to eat it.

⁷ Also, during that year your livestock and the wild animals in your land are permitted to eat it.”

⁸ “Also, after every 49 years has ended, you must do this: ◄On the tenth day of the seventh month/At the end of September► of the next/50th year, blow trumpets throughout the country, to declare that it will be a day on which you request that I forgive you for the sins that you have committed.

¹⁰ Set apart that year, and proclaim that throughout the country, it will be a year of restoring the land and freeing people: All the people who sold their property will receive back the property that they previously owned, and slaves must be ◄freed/allowed to return to their property and their families►.

¹¹ That year will be a Year of Celebration; during that year do not plant anything, and do not harvest in the usual way the grain/wheat that grows without having been planted, or the grapes that grow without the vines being pruned.

¹² It will be a Year of Celebration, so eat only what grows in the fields ◄by itself/without any work being done to produce anything►.

¹³ In that Year of Celebration, everyone must return to their own property.

¹⁴ If you sell some of your land to a fellow Israeli or if you buy some land from one of them, you must treat that person fairly:

¹⁵ If you buy land, the price that you will pay will depend on the number of years there will be until the next Year of Celebration. If someone sells land to you, he will charge a price that is determined by the number of years until the next Year of Celebration.

¹⁶ If there will be many years before the next Year of Celebration, the price will be higher; if there will be only a few years until the next Year of Celebration, the price will be lower. You could say that what he is really selling you is the number of crops which you can harvest before the next Year of Celebration.

¹⁷ Do not cheat each other; instead, revere me. I, Yahweh your God, am the one who am commanding this.

¹⁸ Obey all my laws DOU carefully. If you do that, you will continue to live safely in your country DOU.

¹⁹ And crops will grow well on the land, and you will have plenty to eat.

²⁰ But you may ask, ‘If we do not plant or harvest our crops during the seventh year, what will we have to eat?’

⁸ And let seven Sabbaths of years be numbered to you, seven times seven years; even the days of seven Sabbaths of years, that is forty-nine years;

⁹ Then let the loud horn be sounded far and wide on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the day of taking away sin let the horn be sounded through all your land.

¹⁰ And let this fiftieth year be kept holy, and say publicly that everyone in the land is free from debt: it is the Jubilee, and every man may go back to his heritage and to his family.

¹¹ Let this fiftieth year be the Jubilee: no seed may be planted, and that which comes to growth of itself may not be cut, and the grapes may not be taken from the uncared-for vines.

¹² For it is the Jubilee, and it is holy to you; your food will be the natural increase of the field.

¹³ In this year of Jubilee, let every man go back to his heritage.

¹⁴ And in the business of trading goods for money, do no wrong to one another.

¹⁵ Let your exchange of goods with your neighbours have relation to the number of years after the year of Jubilee, and the number of times the earth has given her produce.

¹⁶ If the number of years is great, the price will be increased, and if the number of years is small, the price will be less, for it is the produce of a certain number of years which the man is giving you.

¹⁷ And do no wrong, one to another, but let the fear of your God be before you; for I am the Lord your God.

¹⁸ So keep my rules and my decisions and do them, and you will be safe in your land.

¹⁹ And the land will give her fruit, and you will have food in full measure and be safe in the land.

²⁰ And if you say, Where will our food come from in the seventh year, when we may not put in seed, or get in the increase

⁴ but in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest for the land, a sabbath to Jehovah. Thy field shalt thou not sow, and thy vineyard shalt thou not prune.

⁵ That which springeth up from the scattered seed of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thine undressed vines thou shalt not gather: a year of rest shall it be for the land.

⁶ And the sabbath of the land shall be for food for you, for thee, and for thy bondman, and for thy handmaid, and for thy hired servant, and for him that dwelleth as a sojourner with thee, and for thy cattle,

⁷ and for the beasts that are in thy land: all the produce thereof shall be for food.

⁸ And thou shalt count seven sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; so that the days of the seven sabbaths of years be unto thee forty-nine years.

⁹ Then shalt thou cause the loud sound of the trumpet to go forth in the seventh month, on the tenth of the month; on the day of atonement shall ye cause the trumpet to go forth throughout your land.

¹⁰ And ye shall hallow the year of the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty in the land unto all the inhabitants thereof; a year of jubilee shall it be unto you, and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family;

¹¹ a year of jubilee shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap its aftergrowth, nor gather the fruit of its undressed vines.

¹² For it is the jubilee; it shall be holy unto you; out of the field shall ye eat its produce.

¹³ In this year of the jubilee ye shall return every man unto his possession.

¹⁴ And if ye sell ought unto your neighbour, or buy of your neighbour's hand, ye shall not overreach one another.

¹⁵ According to the number of years since the jubilee, thou shalt buy of thy neighbour; according to the number of years of the produce, he shall sell unto thee.

¹⁶ According to the greater number of the years, thou shalt increase the price thereof; and according to the fewness of years, thou shalt diminish the price of it; for it is the number of crops that he selleth unto thee.

¹⁷ And ye shall not oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God; for I am Jehovah your God.

¹⁸ And ye shall do my statutes, and observe mine ordinances and do them: thus shall ye dwell in your land securely.

¹⁹ And the land shall yield its fruit, and ye shall eat and be satisfied, and dwell therein securely.

²⁰ And if ye say, What shall we eat in the seventh year? behold, we may not sow, nor gather in our produce;

⁴ But in the seventh year there shall be a sabbath to the land, of the resting of the Lord: thou shalt not sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

⁵ What the ground shall bring forth of itself, thou shalt not reap: neither shalt thou gather the grapes of the firstfruits as a vintage: for it is a year of rest to the land:

⁶ But they shall be unto you for meat, to thee and to thy manservant, to thy maidservant and thy hireling, and to the strangers that sojourn with thee:

⁷ All things that grow shall be meat to thy beasts and to thy cattle.

⁸ Thou shalt also number to thee seven weeks of years, that is to say, seven times seven, which together make forty-nine years:

⁹ And thou shalt sound the trumpet in the seventh month, the tenth day of the month, in the time of the expiation in all your land.

¹⁰ And thou shalt sanctify the fiftieth year, and shalt proclaim remission to all the inhabitants of thy land: for it is the year of jubilee. Every man shall return to his possession, and every one shall go back to his former family:

¹¹ Because it is the jubilee and the fiftieth year. You shall not sow, nor reap the things that grow in the field of their own accord, neither shall you gather the firstfruits of the vines,

¹² Because of the sanctification of the jubilee: but as they grow you shall presently eat them.

¹³ In the year of the jubilee all shall return to their possessions.

¹⁴ When thou shalt sell any thing to thy neighbour, or shalt buy of him; grieve not thy brother: but thou shalt buy of him according to the number of years from the jubilee.

¹⁵ And he shall sell to thee according to the computation of the fruits.

¹⁶ The more years remain after the jubilee, the more shall the price increase: and the less time is counted, so much the less shall the purchase cost. For he shall sell to thee the time of the fruits.

¹⁷ Do not afflict your countrymen, but let every one fear his God: because I am the Lord your God.

¹⁸ Do my precepts, and keep my judgments, and fulfill them: that you may dwell in the land without any fear,

¹⁹ And the ground may yield you its fruits, of which you may eat your fill, fearing no mall’s invasion.

²⁰ But if you say: What shall we eat the seventh year, if we sow not, nor gather our fruits?

⁴ But the seventh year is to be a Sabbath of complete rest for the land, a Sabbath in honor of the Lord. Don't plant your fields or care for your vineyards.

⁵ Don't harvest what may have grown up in your fields, or collect the grapes from your vineyards that you haven't cared for. The land is to have a year of complete rest.

⁶ You can eat whatever the land produces during the Sabbath year. This applies to yourself, your male and female slaves, paid workers and foreigners who live with you,

⁷ and to your livestock and the wild animals living in your land. Whatever grows can be used for food.

⁸ Count seven ‘sabbaths’ of years, in other words, seven times seven years, so that the seven sabbaths of years come to forty-nine years.

⁹ Then blow the trumpet all through the country on the tenth day of the seventh month, which is the Day of Atonement. Make sure this signal is heard throughout your whole country.

¹⁰ You are to dedicate the fiftieth year and announce freedom everywhere in the country for all who live there. This is to be your Jubilee, when each of you is to return to reclaim your property and to be part of your family once more.

¹¹ The fiftieth year will be a Jubilee for you. Don't sow the land; don't harvest what may have grown up in your fields, or collect the grapes from your vineyards that you haven't cared for.

¹² It is a Jubilee and it is to be holy to you. You can eat whatever the land produces.

¹³ In this Jubilee Year, every one of you shall return to your own property.

¹⁴ If you sell land to your neighbor, or buy land from him, don't exploit one another.

¹⁵ When you buy from your neighbor work out how many years have passed since the last Jubilee, for he is to sell to you depending on how many years of harvest remain.

¹⁶ The more years that are left, the more you shall pay; the fewer years that are left, the less you shall pay, because he is actually selling you a specific number of harvests.

¹⁷ Don't exploit one another, but have respect for your God, because I am the Lord your God.

¹⁸ Keep my rules and observe my regulations, so you can live in safety in the land.

¹⁹ Then the land will produce good harvest, so you will have plenty to eat and live in safety there.

²⁰ But if you ask, ‘What are we going to in the seventh year if we do not sow or harvest our crops?’

⁴ But the seuenth yeere shalbe a Sabbath of rest vnto the lande: it shall be the Lordes Sabbath: thou shalt neither sowe thy fielde, nor cut thy vineyarde.

⁵ That which groweth of it owne accorde of thy haruest, thou shalt not reape, neither gather the grapes that thou hast left vnlaboured: for it shalbe a yeere of rest vnto the land.

⁶ And the rest of the lande shall be meate for you, euen for thee, and for thy seruant, and for thy mayde, and for thy hired seruant, and for the stranger that soiourneth with thee:

⁷ And for thy cattell, and for the beastes that are in thy lande shall all the encrease thereof be meate.

⁸ Also thou shalt number seuen Sabbaths of yeeres vnto thee, euen seuen times seuen yeere: and the space of the seuen Sabbaths of yeeres will be vnto thee nine and fourtie yeere.

⁹ Then thou shalt cause to blow the trumpet of the Iubile in the tenth day of the seuenth moneth: euen in the day of the reconciliation shall ye make the trumpet blowe, throughout all your lande.

¹⁰ And ye shall halowe that yeere, euen the fiftieth yeere, and proclaime libertie in the lande to all the inhabitants thereof: it shalbe the Iubile vnto you, and ye shall returne euery man vnto his possession, and euery man shall returne vnto his familie.

¹¹ This fiftieth yeere shalbe a yeere of Iubile vnto you: ye shall not sowe, neither reape that which groweth of it selfe, neither gather the grapes thereof, that are left vnlaboured.

¹² For it is the Iubile, it shall be holy vnto you: ye shall eate of the encrease thereof out of the fielde.

¹³ In the yeere of this Iubile, ye shall returne euery man vnto his possession.

¹⁶ According to the multitude of yeeres, thou shalt increase the price thereof, and according to the fewnesse of yeeres, thou shalt abate the price of it: for the nomber of fruites doeth he sell vnto thee.

¹⁷ Oppresse not ye therefore any man his neighbour, but thou shalt feare thy God: for I am the Lord your God.

¹⁸ Wherefore ye shall obey mine ordinances, and keepe my lawes, and do them, and ye shall dwell in the land in safetie.

¹⁹ And the lande shall giue her fruite, and ye shall eate your fill, and dwell therein in safetie.

²⁰ And if ye shall say, What shall we eate the seuenth yeere, for we shall not sowe, nor gather in our increase?

⁴ But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath unto the LORD; thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.

⁵ That which groweth of itself of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, and the grapes of thy undressed vine thou shalt not gather; it shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

⁶ And the sabbath-produce of the land shall be for food for you: for thee, and for thy servant and for thy maid, and for thy hired servant and for the settler by thy side that sojourn with thee;

⁷ and for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the increase thereof be for food.

⁸ And thou shalt number seven sabbaths of years unto thee, seven times seven years; and there shall be unto thee the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years.

⁹ Then shalt thou make proclamation with the blast of the horn on the tenth day of the seventh month; in the day of atonement shall ye make proclamation with the horn throughout all your land.

¹⁰ And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof; it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

¹⁰ And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim freedom throughout the land unto all the inhabitants thereof; it shall be a jubilee unto you; and ye shall return, every man, unto his possession, and ye shall return, every man, unto his family.

¹¹ A jubilee shall this, the fiftieth year, be unto you: ye shall not sow, nor reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather in it the fruit of the undressed vines.

¹² For it is the jubilee; holy shall it be unto you: from the field shall ye eat the products thereof.

²⁰ And if ye should say, What shall we eat in the seventh year? behold, we are not permitted to sow, and we cannot gather in our harvest:

⁴ But in the seventh year shall be a Sabbath, it shall be a rest to the land, a Sabbath to the Lord: thou shalt not sow thy field, and thou shalt not prune thy vine.

⁵ And thou shalt not gather the spontaneous produce of thy field, and thou shalt not gather fully the grapes of thy dedication: it shall be a year of rest to the land.

⁶ And the Sabbaths of the land shall be food for thee, and for thy manservant, and for thy maidservant, and thy hireling, and the stranger that abides with thee.

⁷ And for thy cattle, and for the wild beasts that are in thy land, shall every fruit of it be for food.

⁸ And thou shalt reckon to thyself seven Sabbaths of years, seven times seven years; and they shall be to thee seven weeks of years, nine and forty years.

⁹ In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall make a proclamation with the sound of a trumpet in all your land; on the day of atonement ye shall make a proclamation with a trumpet in all your land.

¹⁰ And ye shall sanctify the year, the fiftieth year, and ye shall proclaim a release upon the land to all that inhabit it; it shall be given a year of release, a jubilee for you; and each one shall depart to his possession, and ye shall go each to his family.

¹¹ This is a jubilee of release, the year shall be to you the fiftieth year: ye shall not sow, nor reap the produce that comes of itself from the land, neither shall ye gather its dedicated fruits.

¹² For it is a jubilee of release; it shall be holy to you, ye shall eat its fruits off the fields.

¹³ In the year of the release even the jubilee of it, shall each one return to his possession.

¹⁴ And if thou shouldest sell a possession to thy neighbor, or if thou shouldest buy of thy neighbor, let not a man oppress his neighbor.

¹⁵ According to the number of years after the jubilee shalt thou buy of thy neighbor, according to the number of years of the fruits shall he sell to thee.

¹⁶ According as there may be a greater number of years he shall increase the value of his possession, and according as there may be a less number of years he shall lessen the value of his possession; for according to the number of his crops, so shall he sell to thee.

¹⁷ Let not a man oppress his neighbor, and thou shalt fear the Lord thy God: I am the Lord thy God.

¹⁸ And ye shall keep all my ordinances, and all my judgments; and do ye observe them, and ye shall keep them, and dwell securely in the land.

¹⁹ And the land shall yield her increase, and ye shall eat to fullness, and shall dwell securely in it.

²⁰ And if ye should say, What shall we eat in this seventh year, if we do not sow nor gather in our fruits?

⁴ But in the seventh year the land shall have a respite of rest (neach shemittha), a respite before the Lord; thou shalt not sow thy field nor prune thy vineyard.

⁵ The after crop of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither make vintage of the grapes which thou mayest have left, it shall be a year of remission to the land.

⁶ Yet the remission of the land shall be to thee for food, to thee, and to thy servant, and to thy handmaid, and to thy hireling, and to the sojourner who dwelleth with thee.

⁷ And for thy cattle, and for the beasts that are in thy land, shall all the produce of it be for meat.

⁸ And number to thee seven (such) years of Release, beast shall make it good And number to thee seven (such) years of Release, which are seven times seven years; and the days of the seven years of release shall be to thee (in all) forty and nine years.

⁹ And thou shalt make the sound of the trumpet to pass forth, in the seventh month on the tenth of the month, on the day of the expiations shall you make (the sound of) the trumpet to pass through all your land.

¹⁷ And you shall not impose, a man upon his neighbour; but thou shalt fear thy God, for I am the Lord your God.

¹⁸ And you shall perform My statutes, and keep My judgments, and do them, and dwell in the land in security.

¹⁹ And the land shall yield her fruitage, and you shall eat unto the full, and dwell upon it in security.

²⁰ And if you say, What shall we eat in the seventh year; behold, we are not to sow, nor to gather in our fruit?

⁴ but in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to Adonai . You shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard.

⁵ What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap, and you shall not gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

⁶ The Sabbath ·To cease· of the land shall be for food for you; for yourself, for your servant, for your maid, for your hired servant, and for your stranger, who lives as a foreigner with you.

⁷ For your livestock also, and for the animals that are in your land, shall all its increase be for food.

¹⁰ You shall make the fiftieth year holy, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee to you; and each of you shall teshuvah ·completely return· to his own property, and each of you shall teshuvah ·completely return· to his family.

¹¹ That fiftieth year shall be a Jubilee to you. In it you shall not sow, neither reap that which grows of itself, nor gather from the undressed vines.

¹² For it is a Jubilee; it shall be holy to you. You shall eat of its increase out of the field.

¹⁸ “‘Therefore you shall do my statutes, and keep my judgments and do them; and you shall dwell in the land in safety. (RY:2, LY:3)

¹⁹ The land shall yield its fruit, and you shall eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

²⁰ If you said, “What shall we eat the seventh year? Behold, we shall not sow, nor gather in our increase;”

⁴ But in the seventh year, a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land must be observed, a Sabbath for Yahweh. You must not plant your field or prune your vineyard.

⁵ You must not conduct an organized harvest of whatever grows by itself, and you must not conduct an organized harvest of whatever grapes grow on your unpruned vines. This will be a year of solemn rest for the land.

⁶ Whatever the unworked land grows during the Sabbath year will be food for you. You, your male and female servants, your hired servants and the foreigners who live with you may gather food,

⁷ and your livestock and also wild animals may eat whatever the land produces.

⁸ You must count off seven Sabbaths of years, that is, seven times seven years, so that there will be seven Sabbaths of years, totaling forty-nine years.

⁹ Then you must blow a loud trumpet everywhere on the tenth day of the seventh month. On the Day of Atonement you must blow a trumpet throughout all your land.

¹⁰ You must set apart the fiftieth year to Yahweh and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It will be a Jubilee for you, in which property and slaves must be returned to their families.

¹¹ The fiftieth year will be a Jubilee for you. You must not plant or conduct an organized harvest. Eat whatever grows by itself, and gather the grapes that grow on the unpruned vines.

¹² For it is a Jubilee, which will be holy for you. You must eat the produce that grows by itself out of the fields.

¹³ You must return everyone to his own property in this year of Jubilee.

¹⁴ If you sell any land to your neighbor or buy any land from your neighbor, you must not cheat or wrong each other.

¹⁵ If you buy land from your neighbor, consider the number of years and crops that can be harvested until the next Jubilee. Your neighbor selling the land must consider that also.

¹⁶ A larger number of years until the next Jubilee will increase the value of land, and a smaller number of years until the next Jubilee will decrease the value, because the number of harvests the land will produce for the new owner is related to the number of years before the next Jubilee.

¹⁷ You must not cheat or wrong one another; instead, you must honor your God, for I am Yahweh your God.

¹⁸ Therefore you must obey my decrees, keep my laws, and carry them out. Then you will live in the land in safety.

¹⁹ The land will yield its produce, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety.

²⁰ You might say, “What will we eat during the seventh year? Look, we cannot plant or gather our produce.”

⁴ but in the seventh year there shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a Sabbath to Yahweh. You shall not sow your field or prune your vineyard.

⁵ What grows of itself in your harvest you shall not reap, and you shall not gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It shall be a year of solemn rest for the land.

⁹ Then shalt thou cause the trumpet of the jubilee to sound, on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.

¹¹ for it is the jubilee, and the fiftieth year. Ye shall not sow, neither ye shall reap those things, that come forth freely in the field, and ye shall not gather the first fruits of the vintage,

¹² for the hallowing of the jubilee; but anon ye shall eat things taken away;

¹³ in the year of jubilee, all men go again to their possessions.

¹⁷ Do not ye torment men of your lineages, but each man dread his God; for I am your Lord God.

¹⁸ Do ye my behests, and keep ye my dooms, and fulfill ye those, that ye may dwell in this land without any dread,

¹⁹ and that the earth bring forth his fruits to you, which ye shall eat till to fullness, and dread not the assailing of any man.

²⁰ That if ye say, What shall we eat in the seventh year, if we sow not, neither gather our fruits?

⁶ but those fruits shall be to you into meat, to thee, and to thy servant, and to thine handmaid, and to thine hired man, and to the comeling that is a pilgrim with thee; (but those fruits shall be food for you, yea, for thee, and for thy slave, and for thy slave-girl, and for thy hired man, and for the newcomer who is a foreigner, or a stranger, among thee;)

¹¹ for it is the jubilee, and the fiftieth year (or for the fiftieth year is the Jubilee Year). Ye shall not sow, neither ye shall reap those things, that come forth freely in the field, and ye shall not gather (in) the first fruits of the vintage,

¹² for (it is) the hallowing of the jubilee; but anon ye shall eat things taken away; (for it is the Jubilee, and it shall be holy to you; ye shall only eat things taken from off the land;)

¹³ in the year of jubilee, all men go again to their possessions. (and in the Jubilee Year, everyone shall return to their possessions.)

¹⁴ When thou shalt sell anything to thy citizen(ry), either shalt buy of him, make thou not sorry, (or heavy), thy brother, (When thou shalt sell anything to a fellow citizen, or thou shalt buy anything from him, do not thou oppress one another,)

¹⁵ but by the number of the years of the jubilee thou shalt buy of him (or but by the number of the years since the Jubilee, thou shalt buy from him), and by the reckoning of fruits, (or by the annual harvests), he shall sell to thee.

¹⁶ (That is), By as much as more years dwell after the jubilee, by so much also the price shall increase, and by as much as thou numberest less of time, by so much and the buying shall cost less (or by so much the buying, or the purchasing, shall cost less); for he shall sell to thee the time of (the) fruits.

⁶ to thee, and to thi seruaunt, to thin handmaide, and to thin hirid man, and to the comelyng which is a pilgrym at thee; alle thingis that `comen forth,

¹⁸ 'And ye have done My statutes, and My judgments ye keep, and have done them, and ye have dwelt on the land confidently,

¹⁹ and the land hath given its fruit, and ye have eaten to satiety, and have dwelt confidently on it.

²⁰ 'And when ye say, What do we eat in the seventh year, lo, we do not sow, nor gather our increase?
