³³ And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

³⁴ Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto Jehovah.

³⁵ On the first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work.

³⁶ Seven days ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah: it is a solemn assembly; ye shall do no servile work.

³⁷ These are the set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto Jehovah, a burnt-offering, and a meal-offering, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, each on its own day;

³⁸ besides the sabbaths of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill-offerings, which ye give unto Jehovah.

³⁹ Howbeit on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruits of the land, ye shall keep the feast of Jehovah seven days: on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.

⁴⁰ And ye shall take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm-trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God seven days.

⁴¹ And ye shall keep it a feast unto Jehovah seven days in the year: it is a statute for ever throughout your generations; ye shall keep it in the seventh month.

⁴² Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are home-born in Israel shall dwell in booths;

⁴³ that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

⁴⁴ And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the set feasts of Jehovah.

³³ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

⁴⁰ And on the first day ye shall take goodly fruit of trees, and branches of palm trees, and thick boughs of trees, and willows, and branches of osiers from the brook, to rejoice before the Lord your God seven days in the year.

⁴¹ It is a perpetual statute for your generations: in the seventh month ye shall keep it.

⁴² Seven days ye shall dwell in tabernacles: every native in Israel shall dwell in tents,

⁴³ that your posterity may see, that I made the children of Israel to dwell in tents, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

⁴⁴ And Moses recounted the feasts of the Lord to the children of Israel.

³³ Yahweh also said to Moses/me,

³⁴ “Tell the Israeli people that each year they must also celebrate a festival of living in temporary shelters. That festival will begin five days after the day in which they request me to forgive them for their sins. It will last for seven days.

³⁵ On the first day of that festival, the people must gather together to worship me, and they must not do any regular work on that day.

³⁶ On each of the seven days of the festival, they must present to me an offering of animals that will be burned on the altar. On the next day, they must gather again to worship me and present to me another animal that will be burned on the altar. That also will be a sacred gathering, and they must not work on that day, either.

³⁷ To summarize, those are the festivals that I have appointed. Celebrate those sacred festivals by gathering together to present to me all the various offerings that will be burned on the altar —animals that will be burned completely, and offerings of grain, and offerings to enable the Israeli people to maintain fellowship with me, and offerings of wine. Each offering must be brought on the day that I have indicated.

³⁸ ◄Those festivals must be celebrated/You must celebrate those festivals► in addition to worshiping on the ◄Sabbath days/days of rest►. And all those offerings must be given in addition to the offerings that people personally decide to give, and in addition to the offerings that people make to accompany the solemn promises that they have made, or offerings that people make ◄voluntarily/because they themselves want to►.

³⁹ Returning to my instructions about the Festival of Living in Temporary Shelters, you must celebrate this festival after you have harvested all the crops. On the first day and on the last day of that festival, you must rest completely.

⁴⁰ But on the first day, you are permitted to pick fruit from trees. Cut palm fronds/branches and other leafy branches from trees or from bushes that grow by the streams, and make shelters/huts to live in for that week. Then rejoice in my presence for those seven days.

⁴¹ You must celebrate this festival for seven days every year. You must never stop obeying my commands/instructions for that festival. You must celebrate it in September.

⁴² During the seven days of that festival, all of you people who have been Israelis your entire lives must live in shelters/huts.

⁴³ That will remind your descendants that their ancestors lived in shelters for many years after I rescued them from Egypt. Do not forget that I, Yahweh your God, am the one who is commanding this.”

⁴⁴ So Moses/I gave to the Israeli people all those instructions concerning the festivals that Yahweh wanted them to celebrate each year.

³³ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

³³ The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

³³ And the Lord said to Moses,

³⁴ Say to the children of Israel, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month let the feast of tents be kept to the Lord for seven days.

³⁵ On the first day there will be a holy meeting: do no field-work.

³⁶ Every day for seven days give an offering made by fire to the Lord; and on the eighth day there is to be a holy meeting, when you are to give an offering made by fire to the Lord; this is a special holy day: you may do no field-work on that day.

³⁷ These are the fixed feasts of the Lord, to be kept by you as holy days of worship, for making an offering by fire to the Lord; a burned offering, a meal offering, an offering of beasts, and drink offerings; every one on its special day;

³⁸ In addition to the Sabbaths of the Lord, and in addition to the things you give and the oaths you make and the free offerings to the Lord.

³⁹ But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have got in all the fruits of the land, you will keep the feast of the Lord for seven days: the first day will be a Sabbath, and the eighth day the same.

⁴⁰ On the first day, take the fruit of fair trees, branches of palm-trees, and branches of thick trees and trees from the riverside, and be glad before the Lord for seven days.

⁴¹ And let this feast be kept before the Lord for seven days in the year: it is a rule for ever from generation to generation; in the seventh month let it be kept.

⁴² For seven days you will be living in tents; all those who are Israelites by birth are to make tents their living-places:

⁴³ So that future generations may keep in mind how I gave the children of Israel tents as their living-places when I took them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

⁴⁴ And Moses made clear to the children of Israel the orders about the fixed feasts of the Lord.

³³ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

³⁴ Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of booths seven days to Jehovah.

³⁵ On the first day there shall be a holy convocation: no manner of servile work shall ye do.

³⁶ Seven days ye shall present an offering by fire to Jehovah; on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall present an offering by fire to Jehovah: it is a solemn assembly; no manner of servile work shall ye do.

³⁷ These are the set feasts of Jehovah, which ye shall proclaim as holy convocations, to present an offering by fire to Jehovah, a burnt-offering, and an oblation, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, everything upon its day;

³⁸ besides the sabbaths of Jehovah, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your voluntary offerings, which ye give to Jehovah.

³⁹ But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the produce of the land, ye shall celebrate the feast of Jehovah seven days: on the first day there shall be rest, and on the eighth day there shall be rest.

⁴⁰ And ye shall take on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, palm branches and the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God seven days.

⁴¹ And ye shall celebrate it as a feast to Jehovah seven days in the year: it is an everlasting statute throughout your generations; in the seventh month shall ye celebrate it.

⁴² In booths shall ye dwell seven days; all born in Israel shall dwell in booths;

⁴³ that your generations may know that I caused the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Jehovah your God.

⁴⁴ And Moses declared the set feasts of Jehovah to the children of Israel.

³³ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

³⁴ Say to the children of Israel: From the fifteenth day of this same seventh month, shall be kept the feast of tabernacles seven days to the Lord.

³⁵ The first day shall be called most solemn and most holy: you shall do no servile work therein. And seven days you shall offer holocausts to the Lord.

³⁶ The eighth day also shall be most solemn and most holy, and you shall offer holocausts to the Lord: for it is the day of assembly and congregation: you shall do no servile work therein.

³⁷ These are the feasts of the Lord, which you shall call most solemn and most holy, and shall offer on them oblations to the Lord, holocausts and libations according to the rite of every day,

³⁸ Besides the sabbaths of the Lord, and your gifts, and those things that you offer by vow, or which you shall give to the Lord voluntarily.

³⁹ So from the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you shall have gathered in all the fruits of your land, you shall celebrate the feast of the Lord seven days: on the first day and the eighth shall be a sabbath, that is a day of rest.

⁴⁰ And you shall take to you on the first day the fruits of the fairest tree, and branches of palm trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook, and you shall rejoice before the Lord your God.

⁴¹ And you shall keep the solemnity thereof seven days in the year. It shall be an everlasting ordinance in your generations. In the seventh month shall you celebrate this feast.

⁴² And you shall dwell in bowers seven days: every one that is of the race of Israel, shall dwell in tabernacles:

⁴³ That your posterity may know, that I made the children of Israel to dwell in tabernacles, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

⁴⁴ And Moses spoke concerning the feasts of the Lord to the children of Israel.

³³ The Lord told Moses,

³⁴ “Tell the Israelites that the Feast of Tabernacles to honor the Lord begins on the fifteenth day of the seventh month and lasts for seven days.

³⁵ On the first day have a holy meeting. You must not do any of your usual work.

³⁶ For seven days you shall present food offerings to the Lord. On the eighth day you are to have another holy meeting and present a food offering to the Lord. It is a meeting for worship. You must not do any of your usual work.

³⁷ (These are the Lord's holy festivals, which you are to announce as holy meetings for presenting food offerings to the Lord. These include burnt offerings, grain offerings, sacrifices and drink offerings, each according to the specific day.

³⁸ All of these offerings are in addition to those for the Lord's Sabbaths. They are also in addition to your gifts, to all your offerings to fulfill promises, and to all the freewill offerings you present to the Lord.)

³⁹ You shall celebrate a feast to honor the Lord for seven days on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, once you have harvested your crops. The first day and the eighth day are Sabbaths of complete rest.

⁴⁰ On the first day you are to gather branches from large trees, from palm trees, from leafy trees and of river willows, and celebrate before the Lord your God for seven days.

⁴¹ You are to hold this festival to honor the Lord for seven days every year. This regulation is for all time and for all future generations.

⁴² You are to live in temporary shelters for seven days. Every Israelite born in the country must live in shelters,

⁴³ so that your descendants will remember that I made the Israelites live in shelters when I led them out of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.”

⁴⁴ So Moses told the Israelites all about the Lord's festivals.

³³ And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

³⁴ Speake vnto the children of Israel, and say, In the fifteenth day of this seueth moneth shalbe for seuen dayes the feast of Tabernacles vnto the Lord.

³⁵ In the first day shalbe an holie conuocation: ye shall do no seruile worke therein.

³⁶ Seuen daies ye shall offer sacrifice made by fire vnto the Lord, and in the eight day shalbe an holy conuocation vnto you, and ye shall offer sacrifices made by fire vnto the Lord: it is the solemne assemblie, yee shall doe no seruile worke therein.

³⁷ These are the feastes of the Lord (which ye shall call holie conuocations) to offer sacrifice made by fire vnto the Lord, as burnt offring, and meate offring, sacrifice, and drinke offrings, euery one vpon his day,

³⁸ Beside the Sabbaths of the Lord, and beside your giftes, and beside al your vowes, and beside all your free offrings, which ye shall giue vnto the Lord.

³⁹ But in the fifteenth day of the seueth moneth, when ye haue gathered in the fruite of the land, ye shall keepe an holie feast vnto the Lord seuen daies: in the first day shalbe a Sabbath: likewise in the eight day shalbe a Sabbath.

⁴⁰ And yee shall take you in the first day the fruite of goodly trees, branches of palme trees, and the boughes of thicke trees, and willowes of the brooke, and shall reioyce before the Lord your God seuen daies.

⁴¹ So ye shall keepe this feast vnto the Lord seuen daies in the yere, by a perpetuall ordinance through your generations: in the seuenth moneth shall you keepe it.

⁴² Ye shall dwell in boothes seuen daies: all that are Israelites borne, shall dwel in boothes,

⁴³ That your posterity may know that I haue made the children of Israel to dwell in boothes, when I brought them out of the lande of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

⁴⁴ So Moses declared vnto the children of Israel the feastes of the Lord.

³³ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

³⁴ Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the LORD.

³⁵ On the first day shall be a holy convocation; ye shall do no manner of servile work.

³⁶ Seven days ye shall bring an offering made by fire unto the LORD; on the eighth day shall be a holy convocation unto you; and ye shall bring an offering made by fire unto the LORD; it is a day of solemn assembly; ye shall do no manner of servile work.

³⁷ These are the appointed seasons of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to bring an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt-offering, and a meal-offering, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, each on its own day;

³⁸ beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill-offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.

³⁹ Howbeit on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruits of the land, ye shall keep the feast of the LORD seven days; on the first day shall be a solemn rest, and on the eighth day shall be a solemn rest.

⁴⁰ And ye shall take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm-trees, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook, and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.

⁴¹ And ye shall keep it as a feast unto the Lord seven days in the year: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations; in the seventh month shall ye celebrate it.

⁴² In booths shall ye dwell seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths.

⁴³ In order that your generations may know, that I caused the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

⁴⁴ And Moses declared the feasts of the Lord unto the children of Israel.

³³ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

³⁴ Speak to the children of Israel, saying, On the fifteenth day of this seventh month, there shall be a feast of tabernacles seven days to the Lord.

³⁵ And on the first day shall be a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work.

³⁶ Seven days shall ye offer whole burnt offerings to the Lord, and the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you; and ye shall offer whole burnt offerings to the Lord: it is a time of release, ye shall do no servile work.

³⁷ These are the feasts to the Lord, which ye shall call holy convocations, to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, whole burnt offerings and their meat offerings, and their drink offerings, that for each day on its day:

³⁸ besides the Sabbaths of the Lord, and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides your free will offerings, which ye shall give to the Lord.

³⁹ And on the fifteenth day of this seventh month, when ye shall have completely gathered in the fruits of the earth, ye shall keep a feast to the Lord seven days; on the first day there shall be a rest, and on the eighth day a rest.

⁴⁰ And on the first day ye shall take goodly fruit of trees, and branches of palm trees, and thick boughs of trees, and willows, and branches of osiers from the brook, to rejoice before the Lord your God seven days in the year.

⁴¹ It is a perpetual statute for your generations: in the seventh month ye shall keep it.

⁴² Seven days ye shall dwell in tabernacles: every native in Israel shall dwell in tents,

⁴³ that your posterity may see, that I made the children of Israel to dwell in tents, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

⁴⁴ And Moses recounted the feasts of the Lord to the children of Israel.

³³ And the Lord spake with Mosheh, saying:

³⁴ Speak with the sons of Israel saying: On the fifteenth day of this seventh month (shall be) the Feast of Bowers, seven days before the Lord.

³⁵ On the first day a holy convocation; no work of labour may you do.

³⁶ Seven days you shall offer oblations before the Lord; on the eighth day you shall have a holy convocation, and offer an oblation before the Lord. You shall be gathered together; no work of labour may you do.

³⁷ These are the Festivals of the Lord which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an oblation before the Lord, a burnt sacrifice, and a mincha, and a consecrated offering and libations (according to) the directory of the day, on its day.

³⁸ Beside (or except) the Sabbaths of the Lord, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your free-will offerings which you present before the Lord.

³⁹ Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the ground, you shall solemnize a feast of the Lord seven days. On the first day there shall be rest, and on the eighth day rest.

⁴⁰ And you shall take to you on the first day the fruit of the orange (or citron) tree, and branches of palms, and myrtles, and willows of the brook, and rejoice before the Lord your God seven days.

⁴¹ And solemnize it, a feast before the Lord, seven days in the year; it is an everlasting statute unto your generations; in the seventh month shall you solemnize it.

⁴² In bowers shall you dwell seven days; everyone who is native-born in Israel shall dwell (or sit) in the bowers:

⁴³ That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell under the shadow of clouds when I brought them foorth from the land of Mizraim: I am the Lord your God.

⁴⁴ And Mosheh declared the order of the Festivals of the Lord, and taught them to the sons of Israel.

³³ Adonai spoke to Moses Drawn out, saying,

³⁴ “Speak to the children of Israel God prevails, and say, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the festival of Sukkot ·Booths· for seven days to Adonai .

³⁵ On the first day shall be a holy convocation: you shall do no regular aboda ·service·.

³⁶ Seven days you shall offer an offering made by fire to Adonai . On the eighth day shall be a holy convocation to you; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to Adonai . It is a solemn assembly; you shall do no regular aboda ·service·.

³⁷ “‘These are the appointed feasts of Adonai , which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to Adonai , a burnt offering, and a meal offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, each on its own day;

³⁸ besides the Sabbaths of Adonai , and besides your gifts, and besides all your vows, and besides all your free will offerings, which you give to Adonai .

⁴³ that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel God prevails to dwell in sukkot ·temporary tents·, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt Abode of slavery. I am Adonai your God.’”

⁴⁴ Moses Drawn out declared to the children of Israel God prevails the appointed feasts of Adonai .

³³ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

³⁴ “Speak to the people of Israel, saying, 'On the fifteenth day of the seventh month will be the Festival of Shelters for Yahweh. It will last seven days.

³⁵ On the first day there must be a holy assembly. You must do no ordinary work.

³⁶ For seven days you must offer a sacrifice made by fire to Yahweh. On the eighth day there must be a holy assembly, and you must make a sacrifice offered with fire to Yahweh. This is a solemn assembly, and you must not do any ordinary work.

³⁷ These are the appointed festivals for Yahweh, which you must proclaim as holy assemblies to offer sacrifice by fire to Yahweh, a burnt offering and a grain offering, sacrifices and drink offerings, each on its own day.

³⁸ These festivals will be in addition to the Sabbaths of Yahweh and your gifts, all your vows, and all your freewill offerings that you give to Yahweh.

³⁹ Regarding the Festival of Shelters, on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruits of the land, you must keep this festival of Yahweh for seven days. The first day will be a solemn rest, and the eighth day will also be a solemn rest.

⁴⁰ On the first day you must take the best fruit from the trees, branches of palm trees, and leafy branches of thick trees, and willows from streams, and you will rejoice before Yahweh your God for seven days.

⁴¹ For seven days each year, you must celebrate this festival for Yahweh. This will be a permanent statute throughout your people's generations in all the places where you live. You must celebrate this festival in the seventh month.

⁴² You must live in small shelters for seven days. All native-born Israelites must live in small shelters for seven days,

⁴³ so that your descendants, generation after generation, may learn how I made the people of Israel live in such shelters when I led them out of the land of Egypt. I am Yahweh your God.'”

⁴⁴ In this way, Moses announced to the people of Israel the appointed festivals for Yahweh.

³³ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

⁴⁴ So Moses declared to the children of Israel the appointed feasts of Yahweh.

³³ The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

³⁴ “Speak to the children of Israel, and say, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of booths for seven days to the LORD.

³⁴ Speak thou to the sons of Israel, From the fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the fairs of tabernacles, in seven days to the Lord;

³⁵ the first day shall be called most solemn and most holy, ye shall not do any servile work therein;

³⁶ and seven days ye shall offer burnt sacrifices to the Lord, and the eighth day shall be most solemn and most holy; and ye shall offer burnt sacrifice to the Lord, for it is the day of company, and of gathering; ye shall not do any servile work therein.

³⁷ These be the fairs of the Lord, which ye shall call most solemn and most holy; and in them ye shall offer offerings to the Lord, burnt sacrifices, and flowing offerings, by the custom of each day,

³⁸ besides the sabbaths of the Lord, and your gifts, and that that ye offer by avows, either that that ye give by free will to the Lord.

³⁹ Therefore from the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered all the fruits of your land, ye shall hallow the fairs of the Lord seven days; in the first day and the eighth day shall be sabbath, that is, rest.

⁴⁰ And ye shall take to you in the first day fruits of the fairest tree, and the branches of palm trees, and the branches of a thick-boughed tree, and sallows of the running stream, and ye shall be glad before your Lord God;

⁴¹ and ye shall hallow his solemnity seven days in the year; it shall be a lawful thing everlasting in your generations. In the seventh month ye shall hallow the feast days,

⁴² and ye shall dwell in shadowing places seven days; each man that is of the kin of Israel, shall dwell in tabernacles,

⁴³ that your after-comers learn, that I made the sons of Israel to dwell in tabernacles, when I led them out of the land of Egypt; I am your Lord God.

⁴⁴ And Moses spake of the solemnities of the Lord to the sons of Israel.

³³ And the Lord spake to Moses, and said,

³⁴ Speak thou to the sons of Israel, From the fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the fairs of tabernacles, in seven days to the Lord; (Say thou to the Israelites, From the fifteenth day of this seventh month, and for seven days, shall be the Feast of Tabernacles, to honour the Lord;)

³⁵ the first day shall be called most solemn and most holy, ye shall not do any servile work therein; (on the first day there shall be a holy gathering, ye shall not do any daily work on it;)

³⁶ and seven days ye shall offer burnt sacrifices to the Lord, and the eighth day shall be most solemn and most holy; and ye shall offer burnt sacrifice to the Lord, for it is the day of company, and of gathering; ye shall not do any servile work therein. (and for seven days ye shall offer burnt sacrifices to the Lord, and then on the eighth day there shall be another holy gathering; and on it ye shall offer a burnt sacrifice to the Lord, for it is the day of congregation, yea, of gathering together; ye shall not do any daily work on it.)

³⁷ These be the fairs of the Lord, which ye shall call most solemn and most holy; and in them ye shall offer offerings to the Lord, burnt sacrifices, and flowing offerings, by the custom of each day, (These be the Feasts, or the Festivals, to honour the Lord, which shall be holy gatherings for you; and at them ye shall offer burnt sacrifices to the Lord, and peace offerings, and grain offerings, and sacrifices, and wine offerings, by the custom of each day,)

³⁸ besides the sabbaths of the Lord, and your gifts, and that that ye offer by avows, either that that ye give by free will to the Lord. (besides the Lord’s Sabbaths, and your gifts, and what ye offer by vows, and those free will offerings that ye give to the Lord.)

³⁹ Therefore from the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered all the fruits of your land, ye shall hallow the fairs of the Lord seven days; in the first day and the eighth day shall be (a) sabbath, that is, rest. (And so from the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in all the fruits of your land, and for seven days, ye shall keep this Feast to honour the Lord; on the first day, and on the eighth day, shall be a Sabbath, that is, a day of rest.)

⁴⁰ And ye shall take to you in the first day fruits of the fairest tree(s), and the branches of palm trees, and the branches of a thick-boughed tree, and sallows of the running stream, and ye shall be glad before your Lord God; (And on the first day ye shall take the fruits of the fairest trees, and the branches of palm trees, and the branches of thick-boughed trees, and of willows from the banks of the streams, and ye shall rejoice before the Lord your God;)

⁴¹ and ye shall hallow his solemnity seven days in the year; it shall be a lawful thing everlasting in your generations. In the seventh month ye shall hallow the feast days, (and ye shall dedicate this Feast to honour the Lord for seven days each year; this shall be an everlasting law for all your generations. In the seventh month ye shall dedicate these feast days,)

⁴² and ye shall dwell in shadowing places seven days; each man that is of the kin of Israel, shall dwell in (these) tabernacles, (and ye shall live in tents, or booths, or shelters, for seven days; everyone who is of the kin of Israel, shall live in these simple shelters,)

⁴³ that your after-comers learn, that I made the sons of Israel to dwell in tabernacles, when I led them out of the land of Egypt; I am your Lord God. (so that your after-comers learn, that I made the Israelites to live in simple shelters, when I led them out of the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.)

⁴⁴ And Moses spake of the solemnities of the Lord to the sons of Israel. (And so Moses spoke to the Israelites about the Feasts, or the Festivals, to honour the Lord.)

³³ And the Lord spak to Moises,

³⁴ and seide, Speke thou to the sones of Israel, Fro the fiftenthe day of this seuenthe monethe schulen be the feries of tabernaclis, in seuene daies to the Lord;

³⁵ the firste dai schal be clepid moost solempne and moost hooli, ye schulen not do ony seruyle werk ther ynne;

³⁶ and in seuene daies ye schulen offre brent sacrifices to the Lord, and the eiythe dai schal be moost solempne and moost hooli; and ye schulen offre brent sacrifice to the Lord, for it is the day of cumpany, and of gaderyng; ye schulen not do ony seruyle werk ther ynne.

³⁷ These ben the feries of the Lord, whiche ye schulen clepe moost solempne and moost hooli; and in tho ye schulen offre offryngis to the Lord, brent sacrifices, and fletynge offeryngis, bi the custom of ech day,

³⁸ outakun the sabatis of the Lord, and youre yiftys, and whiche ye offren bi avow, ether whiche ye yyuen bi fre wille to the Lord.

³⁹ Therfor fro the fiftenthe day of the seuenthe monethe, whanne ye han gaderid alle the fruytis of youre lond, ye schulen halewe the feries of the Lord seuene daies; in the firste day and the eiyte schal be sabat, that is, reste.

⁴⁰ And ye schulen take to you in the firste day fruytis of the faireste tree, and braunchis of palm trees, and braunchis of a `tree of thicke boowis, and salewis of the rennynge streem, and ye schulen be glad bifor youre Lord God;

⁴¹ and ye schulen halewe his solempnyte seuene daies bi the yeer; it schal be a lawful thing euerlastynge in youre generaciouns. In the seuenthe monethe ye schulen halewe feestis,

⁴² and ye schulen dwelle in schadewynge placis seuene daies; ech man that is of the kyn of Israel, schal dwelle in tabernaclis, that youre aftercomers lerne,

⁴³ that Y made the sones of Israel to dwelle in tabernaculis, whanne Y ledde hem out of the lond of Egipt; Y am youre Lord God.

⁴⁴ And Moises spak of the solempnytees of the Lord to the sones of Israel.

³³ And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

³⁴ 'Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, In the fifteenth day of this seventh month is a feast of booths seven days to Jehovah;

³⁵ on the first day is a holy convocation, ye do no servile work,

³⁶ seven days ye bring near a fire-offering to Jehovah, on the eighth day ye have a holy convocation, and ye have brought near a fire-offering to Jehovah; it is a restraint, ye do no servile work.

³⁷ 'These are appointed seasons of Jehovah, which ye proclaim holy convocations, to bring near a fire-offering to Jehovah, a burnt-offering, and a present, a sacrifice, and libations, a thing of a day in its day,

³⁸ apart from the sabbaths of Jehovah, and apart from your gifts, and apart from all your vows, and apart from all your willing-offerings, which ye give to Jehovah.

³⁹ 'Only — in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, in your gathering the increase of the land, ye do keep the feast of Jehovah seven days; on the first day is a sabbath, and on the eighth day a sabbath;

⁴⁰ and ye have taken to yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palms, and boughs of thick trees, and willows of a brook, and have rejoiced before Jehovah your God seven days.

⁴¹ 'And ye have kept it a feast to Jehovah, seven days in a year — a statute age-during to your generations; in the seventh month ye keep it a feast.

⁴² 'In booths ye dwell seven days; all who are natives in Israel dwell in booths,

⁴³ so that your generations do know that in booths I caused the sons of Israel to dwell; in my bringing them out of the land of Egypt; I, Jehovah, am your God.'

⁴⁴ And Moses speaketh concerning the appointed seasons of Jehovah unto the sons of Israel.
