² Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, which they hallow unto me, and that they profane not my holy name: I am Jehovah.

³ Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed throughout your generations, that approacheth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from before me: I am Jehovah.

⁴ What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath an issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he be clean. And whoso toucheth anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;

⁵ or whosoever toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he hath;

⁶ the soul that toucheth any such shall be unclean until the even, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his flesh in water.

⁷ And when the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread.

⁸ That which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts, he shall not eat, to defile himself therewith: I am Jehovah.

⁹ They shall therefore keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein, if they profane it: I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them.

¹⁰ There shall no stranger eat of the holy thing: a sojourner of the priest’s, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.

¹¹ But if a priest buy any soul, the purchase of his money, he shall eat of it; and such as are born in his house, they shall eat of his bread.

¹² And if a priest’s daughter be married unto a stranger, she shall not eat of the heave-offering of the holy things.

¹³ But if a priest’s daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and be returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s bread: but there shall no stranger eat thereof.

¹⁴ And if a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give unto the priest the holy thing.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto Jehovah,

¹⁶ and so cause them to bear the iniquity that bringeth guilt, when they eat their holy things: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them.

¹⁷ And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whosoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, that offereth his oblation, whether it be any of their vows, or any of their freewill-offerings, which they offer unto Jehovah for a burnt-offering;

¹⁹ that ye may be accepted, ye shall offer a male without blemish, of the bullocks, of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah to accomplish a vow, or for a freewill-offering, of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.

²² Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto Jehovah, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto Jehovah.

²³ Either a bullock or a lamb that hath anything superfluous or lacking in his parts, that mayest thou offer for a freewill-offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.

²⁴ That which hath its stones bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut, ye shall not offer unto Jehovah; neither shall ye do thus in your land.

²⁵ Neither from the hand of a foreigner shall ye offer the bread of your God of any of these; because their corruption is in them, there is a blemish in them: they shall not be accepted for you.

²⁶ And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

⁴ And the man of the seed of Aaron the priest, if he should have leprosy or issue of the reins, shall not eat of the holy things, until he be cleansed; and he that touches any uncleanness of a dead body, or the man whose seed of copulation shall have gone out from him,

⁵ or whosoever shall touch any unclean reptile, which will defile him, or who shall touch a man, whereby he shall defile him according to all his uncleanness:

⁶ whatsoever soul shall touch them shall be unclean until evening; he shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his body in water,

⁷ and the sun go down, and then he shall be clean; and then shall he eat of all the holy things, for they are his bread.

⁸ He shall not eat that which dies of itself, or is taken of beasts, so that he should be polluted by them: I am the Lord.

⁹ And they shall keep my ordinances, that they do not bear iniquity because of them, and die because of them, if they shall profane them: I am the Lord God that sanctifies them.

¹⁰ And no stranger shall eat the holy things: one that sojourns with a priest, or a hireling, shall not eat the holy things.

¹¹ But if a priest should have a soul purchased for money, he shall eat of his bread; and they that are born in his house, they also shall eat of his bread.

¹² And if the daughter of a priest should marry a stranger, she shall not eat of the offerings of the sanctuary.

¹³ And if the daughter of a priest should be a widow, or put away, and have no seed, she shall return to her father's house, as in her youth: she shall eat of her father's bread, but no stranger shall eat of it.

¹⁴ And the man who shall ignorantly eat holy things, shall add the fifth part to it, and give the holy thing to the priest.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord.

¹⁶ So should they bring upon themselves the iniquity of trespass in their eating their holy things: for I am the Lord that sanctifies them.

¹⁷ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the congregation of Israel, and thou shalt say to them, Any man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that abide among them in Israel, who shall offer his gifts according to all their confession and according to all their choice, whatsoever they may bring to the Lord for whole-burnt-offerings—

¹⁹ your free-will-offerings shall be males without blemish of the herds, or of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ They shall not bring to the Lord anything that has a blemish in it, for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And whatsoever man shall offer a peace-offering to the Lord, discharging a vow, or in the way of free-will-offering, or an offering in your feasts, of the herds or of the sheep, it shall be without blemish for acceptance: there shall be no blemish in it.

²² One that is blind, or broken, or has its tongue cut out, or is troubled with warts, or has a malignant ulcer, or tetters, they shall not offer these to the Lord; neither shall ye offer any of them for a burnt-offering on the altar of the Lord.

²³ And a calf or a sheep with the ears cut off, or that has lost its tail, thou shalt slay them for thyself; but they shall not be accepted for thy vow.

²⁴ That which has broken testicles, or is crushed or gelt or mutilated,—thou shalt not offer them to the Lord, neither shall ye sacrifice them upon your land.

²⁵ Neither shall ye offer the gifts of your God of all these things by the hand of a stranger, because there is corruption in them, a blemish in them: these shall not be accepted for you.

² “Tell Aaron and his sons to greatly respect the sacred offerings that the Israeli people bring to me; by doing that you will respect me MTY, Yahweh.

³ Tell them that for all future time, if any of their descendants comes near to the sacred offerings that the Israeli people dedicate to me while he is unfit to work for me, that person will no longer be allowed to work for me. I, Yahweh, am commanding this.

⁴ If any descendant of Aaron has a contagious skin disease or a discharge from his sexual organs, he is not allowed to eat any of the sacred offerings until he is cured. He will also be unfit for his work if he touches anything which has become unacceptable to me because it has touched a corpse, or if he touches anyone who as an emission of semen,

⁵ or if he touches anything that crawls on the ground, or if he touches any person who causes him to be unfit for his work.

⁶ Any priest who touches such things must bathe, and he must not touch anyone else until that evening.

⁷ After the sun sets, he will be permitted to eat some of the sacred offerings that are for him to eat.

⁸ He must not eat anything that is found dead or that has been killed by wild animals, because if he did that, he would be unfit to work for me. I, Yahweh am commanding those things.

⁹ The priests must obey my commandments in order that they will not become guilty and die as a result of ◄despising/not obeying► them.

¹⁰ Anyone who is not a member of a priest's family is not permitted to eat any of a sacred offering, and no one who is visiting the priest or whom the priest has hired is permitted to eat it.

¹¹ But if a priest buys a slave, or if a slave is born in his house, that slave is permitted to eat such food.

¹² If a priest's daughter marries a man who is not a priest, she no longer is permitted to eat the sacred food.

¹³ But if a priest's daughter who has no children becomes a widow or becomes divorced, if she returns to her father's house to live there like she did when she was young, she may eat the same food that her father eats. But no other person is permitted to eat any of it.

¹⁴ If anyone who is not permitted to eat a sacred offering eats it without realizing that it is sacred, he must pay the priest for the offering, and pay him an extra one-fifth of its value.

¹⁵ When the priests bring offerings to me, the sacred offerings that the Israeli people bring to them, they must not treat those offerings as though they are not sacred

¹⁶ by allowing those who are not priests to eat any of those offerings. If they did that, they would become guilty and must make a payment. I am Yahweh, the one who causes those offerings to be sacred.”

¹⁷ Yahweh also said to Moses/me,

¹⁸ “Speak to Aaron and his sons and to all the Israeli people and tell them that I command this: ‘If any of you Israelis or foreigners who live in Israel brings to me an animal that will be completely burned on the altar, either as a result of a solemn promise that you made to me or to be an offering that is given voluntarily,

¹⁹ it must be an animal that has no defects, in order that it will be accepted by me.

²⁰ Do not bring any animals that have defects, because I will not accept them as an offering from you.

²¹ Similarly, when someone brings from his cattle or sheep or goats an offering to maintain fellowship with me, either to fulfill a promise that he made to me or to be a voluntary offering, in order that I will accept it, it must have no defects DOU or blemishes.

²² Do not offer to me animals that are blind or injured or maimed/crippled, or any animal that has warts or a festering sore DOU.

²³ You may present to me to be a voluntary offering an ox or a sheep that is injured or stunted, but it will not be accepted to fulfill a promise made to me.

²⁴ You must not offer to me animals whose testicles are bruised or crushed or torn or cut. You must not injure the testicles of any animal in your land,

²⁵ and you must not accept such animals that are sold/given to you by a foreigner. You must not offer them to me as a sacrifice for me. Such animals will not be accepted by me, because they are deformed or have defects.’”

³ Say to them, Every man throughout your generations, whoever of all your seed shall approach to the holy things, whatever the children of Israel shall consecrate to the Lord, while his uncleanness is upon him, that soul shall be cut off from me: I am the Lord your God.

⁴ And the man of the seed of Aaron the priest, if he should have leprosy or issue of the reins, shall not eat of the holy things, until he be cleansed; and he that touches any uncleanness of a dead body, or the man whose seed of copulation shall have gone out from him,

⁵ or whoever shall touch any unclean reptile, which will defile him, or who shall touch a man, whereby he shall defile him according to all his uncleanness:

⁶ whatever soul shall touch them shall be unclean until evening; he shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his body in water,

⁷ and the sun go down, and then he shall be clean; and then shall he eat of all the holy things, for they are his bread.

⁸ He shall not eat that which dies of itself, or is taken of beasts, so that he should be polluted by them: I am the Lord.

⁹ And they shall keep my ordinances, that they do not bear iniquity because of them, and die because of them, if they shall profane them: I am the Lord God that sanctifies them.

¹⁰ And no stranger shall eat the holy things: one that sojourns with a priest, or a hireling, shall not eat the holy things.

¹¹ But if a priest should have a soul purchased for money, he shall eat of his bread; and they that are born in his house, they also shall eat of his bread.

¹² And if the daughter of a priest should marry a stranger, she shall not eat of the offerings of the sanctuary.

¹³ And if the daughter of priest should be a widow, or put away, and have no seed, she shall return to her father's house, as in her youth: she shall eat of her father's bread, but no stranger shall eat of it.

¹⁴ And the man who shall ignorantly eat holy things, shall add the fifth part to it, and give the holy thing to the priest.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord.

¹⁶ So should they bring upon themselves the iniquity of trespass in their eating their holy things: for I am the Lord that sanctifies them.

¹⁷ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the congregation of Israel, and you shall say to them, Any man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that abide amongst them in Israel, who shall offer his gifts according to all their confession and according to all their choice, whatever they may bring to the Lord for whole burnt offerings—

¹⁹ your free will offerings shall be males without blemish of the herds, or of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ They shall not bring to the Lord anything that has a blemish in it, for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And whatever man shall offer a peace-offering to the Lord, discharging a vow, or in the way of free will offering, or an offering in your feasts, of the herds or of the sheep, it shall be without blemish for acceptance: there shall be no blemish in it.

²² One that is blind, or broken, or has its tongue cut out, or is troubled with warts, or has a malignant ulcer, or tetters, they shall not offer these to the Lord; neither shall you° offer any of them for a burnt offering on the altar of the Lord.

²³ And a calf or a sheep with the ears cut off, or that has lost its tail, you shall kill them for yourself; but they shall not be accepted for your vow.

²⁴ That which has broken testicles, or is crushed or gelt or mutilated, —you shall not offer them to the Lord, neither shall you° sacrifice them upon your land.

²⁵ Neither shall you° offer the gifts of your God of all these things by the hand of a stranger, because there is corruption in them, a blemish in them: these shall not be accepted for you.

²⁶ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

¹¹ But if a priest buys a slave, purchased by his money, he shall eat of it; and those who are born in his house shall eat of his bread.

¹² If a priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she shall not eat of the heave offering of the holy things.

¹³ But if a priest’s daughter is a widow, or divorced, and has no child, and has returned to her father’s house as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s bread; but no stranger shall eat any of it.

¹⁴ “‘If a man eats something holy unwittingly, then he shall add the fifth part of its value to it, and shall give the holy thing to the priest.

¹⁵ The priests shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to Yahweh,

¹⁶ and so cause them to bear the iniquity that brings guilt when they eat their holy things; for I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.’”

¹⁷ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ “Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, ‘Whoever is of the house of Israel, or of the foreigners in Israel, who offers his offering, whether it is any of their vows or any of their free will offerings, which they offer to Yahweh for a burnt offering:

¹⁹ that you may be accepted, you shall offer a male without defect, of the bulls, of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ But you shall not offer whatever has a defect, for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ Whoever offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to Yahweh to accomplish a vow, or for a free will offering of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted. It shall have no defect.

²² You shall not offer what is blind, is injured, is maimed, has a wart, is festering, or has a running sore to Yahweh, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to Yahweh.

²⁴ You must not offer to Yahweh that which has its testicles bruised, crushed, broken, or cut. You must not do this in your land.

²⁵ You must not offer any of these as the bread of your God from the hand of a foreigner, because their corruption is in them. There is a defect in them. They shall not be accepted for you.’”

² Give orders to Aaron and to his sons to keep themselves separate from the holy things of the children of Israel which they give to me, and not to make my holy name common: I am the Lord,

³ Say to them, If any man of all your seed through all your generations, being unclean, comes near the holy things which the children of Israel make holy to the Lord, he will be cut off from before me: I am the Lord.

⁴ No man of the seed of Aaron who is a leper, or who has a flow from his body, may take of the holy food till he is clean. And any man touching anything which is unclean because of the dead, or any man whose seed goes from him;

⁵ Or anyone touching any unclean thing which goes flat on the earth, or someone by whom he may be made unclean in any way whatever;

⁶ Any person touching any such unclean thing will be unclean till evening, and may not take of the holy food till his flesh has been bathed in water;

⁷ And when the sun has gone down he will be clean; and after that he may take part in the holy food, because it is his bread.

⁸ That which comes to a natural death, or is attacked by beasts, he may not take as food, for it will make him unclean: I am the Lord.

⁹ So then, let them keep what I have put into their care, for fear that sin may come on them because of it, so causing their death because they have made it common: I am the Lord, who make them holy.

¹⁰ No outside person may take of the holy food, or one living as a guest in the priest's house, or a servant working for payment.

¹¹ But any person for whom the priest has given money, to make him his, may take of it with him; and those who come to birth in his house may take of his bread.

¹² And if the daughter of a priest is married to an outside person she may not take of the holy things which are lifted up as offerings.

¹³ But if a priest's daughter is a widow, or parted from her husband, and has no child, and has come back to her father's house as when she was a girl, she may take of her father's bread; but no outside person may do so.

¹⁴ And if a man takes the holy food in error, he will have to give the holy thing back to the priest, with the addition of a fifth part.

¹⁵ And they may not make common the holy things which the children of Israel give to the Lord,

¹⁶ So causing sin to come on them when they take their holy things for food: I am the Lord who make them holy.

¹⁷ And the Lord said to Moses,

¹⁸ Say to Aaron and to his sons and to all the children of Israel, If any man of the children of Israel, or of another nation living in Israel, makes an offering, given because of an oath or freely given to the Lord for a burned offering;

¹⁹ So that it may be pleasing to the Lord, let him give a male, without any mark, from among the oxen or the sheep or the goats.

²⁰ But anything which has a mark you may not give; it will not make you pleasing to the Lord.

²¹ And whoever makes a peace-offering to the Lord, in payment of an oath or as a free offering, from the herd or the flock, if it is to be pleasing to the Lord, let it be free from any mark or damage.

²² Anything blind or broken or damaged or having any disease or any mark on it may not be offered to the Lord; you may not make an offering of it by fire on the altar to the Lord.

²³ An ox or a lamb which has more or less than its natural parts, may be given as a free offering; but it will not be taken in payment of an oath.

²⁴ An animal which has its sex parts damaged or crushed or broken or cut, may not be offered to the Lord; such a thing may not be done anywhere in your land.

²⁵ And from one who is not an Israelite you may not take any of these for an offering to the Lord; for they are unclean, there is a mark on them, and the Lord will not be pleased with them.

²⁶ And the Lord said to Moses,

² Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in the things that they hallow unto me: I am Jehovah.

³ Say unto them, Every one of all your seed, throughout your generations, that approacheth the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto Jehovah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul shall be cut off from before me: I am Jehovah.

⁴ Whatsoever man of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a flux, he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. And he that toucheth any one that is unclean by a dead person, or a man whose seed of copulation hath passed from him;

⁵ or a man that toucheth any crawling thing whereby he becometh unclean, or a man by whom he may become unclean, whatever may be his uncleanness,

⁶ — a person that toucheth any such shall be unclean until even, and shall not eat of the holy things; but he shall bathe his flesh with water,

⁷ and when the sun goeth down, he shall be clean, and may afterwards eat of the holy things; for it is his food.

⁸ Of a dead carcase and what is torn shall he not eat, to make himself unclean therewith: I am Jehovah.

⁹ And they shall keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die by it, if they profane it: I am Jehovah who do hallow them.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel which they offer unto Jehovah,

¹⁶ and cause them to bear the iniquity of trespass when they eat their holy things; for I am Jehovah who do hallow them.

¹⁷ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, Whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, that presenteth his offering for any of his vows, and for any of his voluntary offerings, which they present to Jehovah as a burnt-offering,

¹⁹ it shall be for your acceptance, without blemish, a male of the oxen, of the sheep, and of the goats.

²⁰ Nothing that hath a defect shall ye present; for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And if any present a sacrifice of peace-offering to Jehovah to accomplish a vow, or a voluntary offering of oxen or small cattle, it shall be without blemish to be accepted: there shall be no defect therein.

²² Blind, or broken, or maimed, or ulcerous, or with itch, or scabbed — ye shall not present these to Jehovah, nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to Jehovah.

²³ A bullock and a sheep that hath a member too long or too short, that mayest thou offer as a voluntary offering; but as a vow it shall not be accepted.

²⁴ That which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut shall ye not present to Jehovah; neither in your land shall ye do the like.

²⁵ Nor from the hand of the stranger shall ye present the bread of your God, of any of these; for their corruption is in them: a defect is in them; they shall not be accepted for you.

²⁶ And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

² Speak to Aaron and to his sons, that they beware of those things that are consecrated of the children of Israel, and defile not the name of the things sanctified to me, which they offer. I am the Lord.

³ Say to them and to their posterity: Every man of your race, that approacheth to those things that are consecrated, and which the children of Israel have offered to the Lord, in whom there is uncleanness, shall perish before the Lord. I am the Lord.

⁴ The man of the seed of Aaron, that is a leper, or that suffereth a running of the seed, shall not eat of those things that are sanctified to me, until he be healed. He that toucheth any thing unclean by occasion of the dead, and he whose seed goeth from him as in generation,

⁵ And he that toucheth a creeping thing, or any unclean thing, the touching of which is defiling,

⁶ Shall be unclean until the evening, and shall not eat those things that are sanctified: but when he hath washed his flesh with water,

⁷ And the sun is down, then being purified, he shall eat of the sanctified things, because it is his meat.

⁸ That which dieth of itself, and that which was taken by a beast, they shall not eat, nor be defiled therewith, I am the Lord.

⁹ Let them keep my precepts, that they may not fall into sin, and die in the sanctuary, when they shall have defiled it. I am the Lord who sanctify them.

¹⁰ No stranger shall eat of the sanctified things: a sojourner of the priests, or a hired servant, shall not eat of them.

¹¹ But he whom the priest hath bought, and he that is his servant, born in his house, these shall eat of them.

¹² If the daughter of a priest be married to any of the people, she shall not eat of those things that are sanctified, nor of the firstfruits.

¹³ But if she be a widow, or divorced, and having no children return to her father’s house, she shall eat of her father’s meats, as she was wont to do when she was a maid, no stranger hath leave to eat of them.

¹⁴ He that eateth of the sanctified things through ignorance, shall add the fifth part with that which he ate, and shall give it to the priest into the sanctuary.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the sanctified things of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord:

¹⁶ Lest perhaps they bear the iniquity of their trespass, when they shall have eaten the sanctified things. I am the Lord who sanctify them.

¹⁷ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

¹⁸ Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: The man of the house of Israel, and of the strangers who dwell with you, that offereth his oblation, either paying his vows, or offering of his own accord, whatsoever it be which he presenteth for a holocaust of the Lord,

¹⁹ To be offered by you, it shall be a male without blemish of the beeves, or of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ If it have a blemish you shall not offer it, neither shall it be acceptable.

²¹ The man that offereth a victim of peace offerings to the Lord, either paying his vows, or offering of his own accord, whether of beeves or of sheep, shall offer it without blemish, that it may be acceptable: there shall be no blemish in it.

²² If it be blind, or broken, or have a scar or blisters, or a scab, or a dry scurf: you shall not offer them to the Lord, nor burn any thing of them upon the Lord’s altar.

²³ An ox or a sheep, that hath the ear and the tail cut off, thou mayst offer voluntarily: but a vow may not be paid with them.

²⁴ You shall not offer to the Lord any beast that hath the testicles bruised, or crushed, or cut and taken away: neither shall you do any such thing in your land.

²⁵ You shall not offer bread to your God, from the hand of a stranger, nor any other thing that he would give: because they are all corrupted, and defiled: you shall not receive them.

²⁶ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

² “Tell Aaron and his sons to be dedicated when dealing with the holy offerings that the Israelites have dedicated to me, so that they don't dishonor my holy character. I am the Lord.

³ Tell them: These rules apply for all future generations. If any of your descendants in an unclean state comes close to the holy offerings that the Israelites dedicate to honor the Lord, that person must be expelled from my presence. I am the Lord.

⁴ If one of Aaron's descendants has a skin disease or a discharge, he is not allowed to eat the holy offerings until he is clean. Anyone who touches anything made unclean by a dead body or by a man who has had a release of semen,

⁵ or anyone who touches an unclean animal or an unclean person, (whatever the uncleanness is),

⁶ anyone who touches anything like this will remain unclean until evening. He is not allowed to eat from the holy offerings unless he has washed himself with water.

⁷ At sunset he will become clean, and then he is allowed to eat from the holy offerings because they provide his food.

⁸ He must not eat anything that's died, or killed by wild animals, because that would make him unclean. I am the Lord.

⁹ The priests must do as I demand, so that they don't become guilty and die because they have not done so, treating my requirements with contempt. I am the Lord who makes them holy.

¹⁰ Anyone who isn't part of a priest's family is not allowed eat the holy offerings. This also applies to a priest's guest or his paid worker.

¹¹ However, if a priest uses his own money to buy a slave, or if a slave is born in the priest's household, then that slave is allowed to eat his food.

¹² If the priest's daughter gets married to a man who isn't a priest, she is not allowed to eat the holy offerings.

¹³ But if a priest's daughter without children is widowed or divorced and goes back to her father's house, she is allowed to eat her father's food as she did when she was growing up. But no one outside the priest's family can eat it.

¹⁴ Anyone who eats a holy offering by mistake must pay compensation by adding a fifth to its value, and give it all to the priest.

¹⁵ The priests must not make the holy offerings the Israelites present to the Lord unclean

¹⁶ by allowing the people to eat them and in so doing take upon themselves the punishment for guilt. For I am the Lord who makes them holy.”

¹⁷ The Lord told Moses,

¹⁸ “Tell Aaron, his sons and all the Israelites: If you or foreigner living with you wants to make a gift as a burnt offering to the Lord, whether it's to fulfill a promise or as a freewill offering, this is what you are to do.

¹⁹ If it is to be accepted on your behalf you must offer a male without defects from the herds of cattle, sheep, or goats.

²⁰ Don't present anything with a defect because it won't be accepted on your behalf.

²¹ If you want to present a peace offering to the Lord from the herd or flock to fulfill a promise or as a freewill offering, in order to be acceptable the animal must be perfect, completely without defects.

²² Don't present to the Lord an animal that is blind, injured, or damaged in some way, or has warts, skin sores, or scabs. Don't place any animal that has these on the altar as a food offering to the Lord.

²³ However, you can present a freewill offering of a bull or sheep that has a leg that is too long or too short, but not if it is a sacrifice to fulfill a promise.

²⁴ Don't present to the Lord an animal with testicles that are accidentally or deliberately damaged. You are not allowed to sacrifice any of these damaged animals in your land.

²⁵ Nor are you allowed to accept such animals from a foreigner to be damaged and defective.”

²⁶ The Lord told Moses,

² Speake vnto Aaron, and to his sonnes, that they be separated from the holy thinges of the children of Israel, and that they pollute not mine holy name in those things, which they hallowe vnto me: I am the Lord.

³ Say vnto them, Whosoeuer he be of all your seede among your generations after you, that toucheth the holy things which the children of Israel hallowe vnto the Lord, hauing his vncleannesse vpon him, euen that person shall be cut off from my sight: I am the Lord.

⁴ Whosoeuer also of the seede of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue, he shall not eate of the holy things vntill he be cleane: and who so toucheth any that is vncleane, by reason of the dead, or a man whose issue of seede runneth from him,

⁵ Or the man that toucheth any creeping thing, whereby he may be made vncleane, or a man, by whom he may take vncleannesse, whatsoeuer vncleannesse he hath,

⁶ The person that hath touched such, shall therefore be vncleane vntill the euen, and shall not eat of ye holy things, except he haue washed his flesh with water.

⁷ But when the Sunne is downe, hee shalbe cleane, and shall afterward eate of the holy things: for it is his foode.

⁸ Of a beast that dyeth, or is rent with beasts, whereby he may be defiled, hee shall not eate: I am the Lord.

⁹ Let them keepe therefore mine ordinance, least they beare their sinne for it, and die for it, if they defile it: I the Lord sanctifie them.

¹⁰ There shall no stranger also eate of the holie thing, neither the ghest of the Priest, neither shall an hired seruant eat of the holie thing:

¹¹ But if the Priest bye any with money, he shall eate of it, also he that is borne in his house: they shall eate of his meate.

¹² If the Priests daughter also be maried vnto a stranger, she may not eate of the holy offrings.

¹³ Notwithstanding if the Priests daughter be a widowe or diuorced, and haue no childe, but is returned vnto her fathers house shee shall eate of her fathers bread, as she did in her youth but there shall no stranger eate thereof.

¹⁴ If a man eate of the holie thing vnwittingly, he shall put the fift part thereunto, and giue it vnto the Priest with the halowed thing.

¹⁵ So they shall not defile the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer vnto the Lord,

¹⁶ Neither cause the people to beare the iniquitie of their trespas, while they eate their holy thing: for I the Lord do halowe them.

¹⁷ And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speake vnto Aaron, and to his sonnes, and to all the children of Israel, and say vnto them, Whosoeuer he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his sacrifice for all their vowes, and for all their free offrings, which they vse to offer vnto the Lord for a burnt offring,

¹⁹ Yee shall offer of your free minde a male without blemish of the beeues, of the sheepe, or of the goates.

²⁰ Ye shall not offer any thing that hath a blemish: for that shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And whosoeuer bringeth a peace offring vnto ye Lord to accomplish his vowe, or for a free offring, of the beeues, or of the sheepe, his free offring shall bee perfect, no blemish shalbe in it.

²² Blinde, or broken, or maimed, or hauing a wenne, or skiruie, or skabbed: these shall yee not offer vnto the Lord nor make an offring by fire of these vpon the altar of the Lord.

²³ Yet a bullocke, or a sheepe that hath any member superfluous, or lacking, such mayest thou present for a free offring, but for a vowe it shall not be accepted.

²⁴ Ye shall not offer vnto ye Lord that which is bruised or crusshed, or broken, or cut away, neither shall ye make an offring thereof in your land,

²⁵ Neither of ye hand of a strager shall ye offer ye bread of your God of any of these, because their corruption is in them, there is a blemish in them: therefore shall they not be accepted for you.

²⁶ And the Lord spake vnto Moses, saying,

⁸ That which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts, he shall not eat to defile himself therewith: I am the LORD.

⁹ They shall therefore keep My charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein, if they profane it: I am the LORD who sanctify them.

¹⁰ There shall no common man eat of the holy thing; a tenant of a priest, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.

¹¹ But if a priest buy any soul, the purchase of his money, he may eat of it; and such as are born in his house, they may eat of his bread.

¹² And if a priest's daughter be married unto a common man, she shall not eat of that which is set apart from the holy things.

¹³ But if a priest's daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father's house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father's bread; but there shall no common man eat thereof.

¹⁴ And if a man eat of the holy thing through error, then he shall put the fifth part thereof unto it, and shall give unto the priest the holy thing.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they set apart unto the LORD;

¹⁶ and so cause them to bear the iniquity that bringeth guilt, when they eat their holy things; for I am the LORD who sanctify them.

¹⁷ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

¹⁸ Speak unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them: Whosoever he be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that bringeth his offering, whether it be any of their vows, or any of their free-will-offerings, which are brought unto the LORD for a burnt-offering;

¹⁹ ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish, of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ But whatsoever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer unto the Lord;

¹⁶ And load on themselves the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things; for I am the Lord who sanctify them.

¹⁷ And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them, If there be any man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that offereth his oblation, be it for any manner of vows, or for any manner of freewill-offerings, which they may offer unto the Lord for a burnt-offering:

¹⁹ Then shall it be, that it may be favorably received for you, a male without blemish, of the oxen, of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ Whatsoever on which there is a blemish shall ye not offer; for it will not be favorably received for you.

²¹ And when a man offereth a sacrifice of peace-offering unto the Lord as a vow, or a freewill-offering of the herds or of the flocks: it shall be without blemish to be favorably received; no kind of bodily defect shall be thereon.

²² A blind, or broken-limbed, or maimed animal, or one having a wen, or itch, or scurvy,—ye shall not offer these unto the Lord, and a fire-offering shall ye not make of them upon the altar unto the Lord.

²³ And an ox or a lamb that hath a limb too long or too short, that mayest thou offer for a freewill-offering; but for a vow it shall not be favorably received.

²⁴ And one that is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut in the testicles, shall ye not offer unto the Lord; and in your land shall ye not make the like.

²⁵ And from a stranger's hand shall ye not offer the bread of your God from any of these; because their corruption is on them, a bodily defect is on them: they shall not be favorably received for you.

²⁶ And the Lord spoke unto Moses, saying,

² Speak to Aaron and to his sons, and let them take heed concerning the holy things of the children of Israel, so they shall not profane my holy name in any of the things which they consecrate to me: I am the Lord.

³ Say to them, Every man throughout your generations, whoever of all your seed shall approach to the holy things, whatsoever the children of Israel shall consecrate to the Lord, while his uncleanness is upon him, that soul shall be cut off from me: I am the Lord your God.

⁴ And the man of the seed of Aaron the priest, if he should have leprosy or issue of the reins, shall not eat of the holy things, until he be cleansed; and he that touches any uncleanness of a dead body, or the man whose seed of copulation shall have gone out from him,

⁵ or whosoever shall touch any unclean reptile, which will defile him, or who shall touch a man, whereby he shall defile him according to all his uncleanness:

⁶ whatsoever soul shall touch them shall be unclean until evening; he shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his body in water,

⁷ and the sun go down, and then he shall be clean; and then shall he eat of all the holy things, for they are his bread.

⁸ He shall not eat that which dies of itself, or is taken of beasts, so that he should be polluted by them: I am the Lord.

⁹ And they shall keep my ordinances, that they do not bear iniquity because of them, and die because of them, if they shall profane them: I am the Lord God that sanctifies them.

¹⁰ And no stranger shall eat the holy things: one that sojourns with a priest, or a hireling, shall not eat the holy things.

¹¹ But if a priest should have a soul purchased for money, he shall eat of his bread; and they that are born in his house, they also shall eat of his bread.

¹² And if the daughter of a priest should marry a stranger, she shall not eat of the offerings of the sanctuary.

¹³ And if the daughter of a priest should be a widow, or put away, and have no seed, she shall return to her father’s house, as in her youth: she shall eat of her father’s bread, but no stranger shall eat of it.

¹⁴ And the man who shall ignorantly eat holy things, shall add the fifth part to it, and give the holy thing to the priest.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, which they offer to the Lord.

¹⁶ So should they bring upon themselves the iniquity of trespass in their eating their holy things: for I am the Lord that sanctifies them.

¹⁷ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the congregation of Israel, and thou shalt say to them, Any man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that abide among them in Israel, who shall offer his gifts according to all their confession and according to all their choice, whatsoever they may bring to the Lord for whole burnt offerings—

¹⁹ your free will offerings shall be males without blemish of the herds, or of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ They shall not bring to the Lord anything that has a blemish in it, for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And whatsoever man shall offer a peace offering to the Lord, discharging a vow, or in the way of freewill offering, or an offering in your feasts, of the herds or of the sheep, it shall be without blemish for acceptance: there shall be no blemish in it.

²² One that is blind, or broken, or has its tongue cut out, or is troubled with warts, or has a malignant ulcer, or tetters, they shall not offer these to the Lord; neither shall ye offer any of them for a burnt offering on the altar of the Lord.

²³ And a calf or a sheep with the ears cut off, or that has lost its tail, thou shalt slay them for thyself; but they shall not be accepted for thy vow.

²⁴ That which has broken testicles, or is crushed or gelded or mutilated—thou shalt not offer them to the Lord, neither shall ye sacrifice them upon your land.

²⁵ Neither shall ye offer the gifts of your God of all these things by the hand of a stranger, because there is corruption in them, a blemish in them: these shall not be accepted for you.

²⁶ And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

² Speak with Aharon and with his sons, and let them keep separate from the consecrated things of the children of Israel, that they profane not the Name of My Holiness which they (are to) sanctify before Me: I am the Lord.

³ Say to them, Any man of all the sons of your generations who shall touch the hallowed things which the children of Israel consecrate before the Lord, having his uncleanness upon him, that man shall perish before Me: I am the Lord.

⁴ Any man of Aharon’s offspring who hath leprosy or an unclean effusion shall not eat of the consecrated things until he be clean; and whosoever toucheth any unclean animal, or a man whose seed goeth from him,

⁵ Or a man who toucheth any reptile that maketh him unclean, or a man who maketh him unclean by any of his uncleanness,

⁶ The man who toucheth him shall be unclean until the evening, and may not eat of things consecrated unless he wash his flesh with water.

⁷ But when the sun hath gone down, and he shall have purified himself, he may afterward eat of the hallowed things, for it is his food.

⁸ A carcase which hath been torn he may not eat, to defile himself therewith: I am the Lord.

⁹ But let them keep the keeping of My word, lest they bring guilt upon themselves, and die for it, because they have profaned it, I am the Lord who sanctify them.

¹⁰ No stranger shall eat of that which is consecrated, neither a sojourner with a priest, or a hireling, may eat of the consecrated thing.

¹¹ But if the priest buy a person with a purchase of his money, he may eat of it, and he who hath been born in his house, they may eat of his bread.

¹² And the daughter of a priest, if she be married to a stranger, may not eat of things set apart and hallowed.

¹³ But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or divorced, and, having, no child, hath returned to her father’s house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s meat; but no stranger shall eat thereof.

¹⁴ And if a man eat some consecrated thing through ignorance, he shall add a fifth unto it, and give the consecrated thing unto the priest.

¹⁵ And let them not profane the hallowed things of the children of Israel which are set apart before the Lord,

¹⁶ nor bring upon themselves iniquities and sins, when they eat in uncleanness the things that are holy. I am the Lord, who sanctify them.

¹⁷ And the Lord spake with Mosheh, saying:

¹⁸ Speak with Aharon, and with his sons, and with all the children of Israel, and say to them: When any man of the sons of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, will offer the oblation of any of their vows or any of their free-will oblations which they may offer before the Lord for a burnt sacrifice;

¹⁹ That it may be acceptable from you, (let it be) a male without blemish, of the bullocks, or of the lambs, or of the goats.

²⁰ But whatever hath a blemish in it you shall not offer, for it will not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And if a man present a consecrated victim before the Lord, as a vow set apart, or a free-will offering of the herd or of the flock, it must be perfect, to be acceptable; there shall be no blemish in it.

²² Blind, or broken, or mutilated, or having imposthumes, or ulcers, or blotches, these you shall not offer before the Lord, nor of them present an oblation upon the altar before the Lord.

²³ But a bullock or a lamb that hath anything superfluous or deficient you may make a free-will offering, but for a vow it will not be acceptable.

²⁴ And that which is crushed, or rent, or worn out, or emasculated, you shall not offer before the Lord, nor do it in your land.

²⁵ Nor from (the hand of) a son of the Gentiles may you offer an oblation to your God of any of these, because their corruption is in them, a blemish is in them; they will not be acceptable for you.

²⁶ And the Lord spake with Mosheh, saying:

² “Tell Aaron Light-bringer and his sons to separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel God prevails, which they make holy to me, and that they not profane my holy name. I am Adonai .

³ “Tell them, ‘If anyone of all your offspring throughout all your generations approaches the holy things, which the children of Israel God prevails make holy to Adonai , having his uncleanness on him, that soul shall be cut off from before me. I am Adonai .

⁴ “‘Whoever of the offspring of Aaron Light-bringer is a leper or has an issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. Whoever touches anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose offspring goes from him;

⁵ or whoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he has;

⁶ the person that touches any such shall be unclean until the evening, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he bathe his body in water.

⁷ When the sun is down, he shall be clean; and afterward he shall eat of the holy things, because it is his bread.

⁸ That which dies of itself, or is torn by animals, he shall not eat, defiling himself by it. I am Adonai .

⁹ “‘They shall therefore follow my requirements, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein, if they profane it. I am Yahweh M'Kaddesham Yahweh our Santifier / He sustains breathing who makes them holy.

¹⁰ “‘No stranger shall eat of the holy thing: a foreigner living with the priests, or a hired servant, shall not eat of the holy thing.

¹¹ But if a priest buys a slave, purchased by his money, he shall eat of it; and such as are born in his house, they shall eat of his bread.

¹² If a priest’s daughter is married to an outsider, she shall not eat of the heave offering of the holy things.

¹³ But if a priest’s daughter is a widow, or divorced, and has no child, and has teshuvah ·completely returned· to her father’s house, as in her youth, she may eat of her father’s bread: but no stranger shall eat any of it.

¹⁴ “‘If a man eats something holy unwittingly, then he shall add the fifth part of its value to it, and shall give the holy thing to the priest.

¹⁵ The priests shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel God prevails, which they offer to Adonai ,

¹⁶ and so cause them to bear the iniquity that brings guilt, when they eat their holy things; for I am Yahweh M'Kaddesham Yahweh our Santifier / He sustains breathing who makes them holy.’” (3)

¹⁷ Adonai spoke to Moses Drawn out, saying,

¹⁸ “Speak to Aaron Light-bringer, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel God prevails, and say to them, ‘Whoever is of the house of Israel God prevails, or of the foreigners in Israel God prevails, who offers his offering, whether it is any of their vows, or any of their free will offerings, which they offer to Adonai for a burnt offering;

¹⁹ that you may be accepted, you shall offer a male without defect, of the bulls, of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ But whatever has a defect, that you shall not offer; for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ Whoever offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to Adonai to accomplish a vow, or for a free will offering, of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted. It shall have no defect.

²² Blind, injured, maimed, having a wart, festering, or having a running sore: you shall not offer these to Adonai , nor make an offering by fire of them on the altar to Adonai .

²³ Either a bull or a lamb that has any deformity or lacking in his parts, that you may offer for a free will offering; but for a vow it shall not be accepted.

²⁴ You must not offer to Adonai that which has its testicles bruised, crushed, broken, or cut. You must not do this in your land.

²⁵ You must not receive any of these from the hand of a foreigner to offer as bread for your God, because their deformity is a defect in them. They shall not be accepted for you.’”

²⁶ Adonai spoke to Moses Drawn out, saying,

² “Speak to Aaron and to his sons, tell them to keep away from the holy things of the people of Israel, which they set apart to me. They must not profane my holy name. I am Yahweh.

³ Say to them, 'If any of your descendants throughout your generations approaches the holy things that the people of Israel have set apart to Yahweh, while he is unclean, that person must be cut off from before me: I am Yahweh.

⁴ None of the descendants of Aaron who has an infectious skin disease, or an infection flowing from his body, may eat any of the sacrifices made to Yahweh until he is clean. Whoever touches anything unclean through contact with the dead, or by contact with a man who has a flow of semen,

⁵ or whoever touches any creeping animal that makes him unclean, or any person who makes him unclean, whatever kind of uncleanness it may be—

⁶ then the priest who touches anything unclean will be unclean until evening. He must not eat any of the holy things, unless he has bathed his body in water.

⁷ When the sun has set, he will then be clean. After sunset he may eat from the holy things, because they are his food.

⁸ He must not eat anything found dead or killed by wild animals, by which he would defile himself. I am Yahweh.

⁹ The priests must follow my instructions, or they will be guilty of sin and could die for profaning me. I am Yahweh who makes them holy.

¹⁰ No one outside the priest's family, including guests of a priest or his hired servants, may eat anything that is holy.

¹¹ But if a priest buys any slave with his own money, that slave may eat from the things set apart to Yahweh. The priest's family members and slaves born in his house, they also may eat with him from those things.

¹² If a priest's daughter married someone who is not a priest, she may not eat any of the holy contribution offerings.

¹³ But if a priest's daughter is a widow, or divorced, and if she has no child, and if she returns to live in her father's house as in her youth, she may eat from her father's food. But no one who is not in the priestly family may eat from the priest's food.

¹⁴ If a man eats a holy food without knowing it, then he must repay the priest for it; he must add one-fifth to it and give it back to the priest.

¹⁵ The people of Israel must not profane the holy things that they have raised high and presented to Yahweh,

¹⁶ and cause themselves to carry the sin that would make them guilty of eating the holy food, for I am Yahweh who makes them holy.'”

¹⁷ Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ “Speak to Aaron and his sons, and to all the people of Israel. Say to them, 'Any Israelite, or an alien living in Israel, when they present a sacrifice—whether it is to fulfill a vow, or whether it is a freewill offering, or they present to Yahweh a burnt offering,

¹⁹ if it is to be accepted, they must offer a male animal without blemish from the cattle, sheep, or goats.

²⁰ But you must not offer whatever has a blemish. I will not accept it on your behalf.

²¹ Whoever offers a sacrifice of fellowship offerings from the herd or the flock to Yahweh to fulfill a vow, or as a freewill offering, it must be unblemished to be accepted. There must be no defect in the animal.

²² You must not offer animals that are blind, disabled, or maimed, or that have warts, sores, or scabs. You must not offer these to Yahweh as a sacrifice by fire on the altar.

²³ You may present as a freewill offering an ox or a lamb that is deformed or small, but an offering like that will not be accepted for a vow.

²⁴ Do not offer any animal to Yahweh that has bruised, crushed, torn, or cut testicles. Do not do this within your land.

²⁵ You must not present the bread of your God from the hand of a foreigner. Those animals are deformed and have defects in them, they will not be accepted for you.'”

²⁶ Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,

⁴ Whatever man of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or hath a running issue; he shall not eat of the holy things, until he is clean. And whoever toucheth any thing that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goeth from him;

⁵ Or whoever toucheth any creeping animal, by which he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatever uncleanness he hath:

⁶ The soul which hath touched any such shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat of the holy things, unless he shall wash his flesh with water.

¹⁴ And if a man shall eat of the holy thing unknowingly, then he shall put to it the fifth part , and shall give it to the priest, with the holy thing.

¹⁵ And they shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel which they offer to the LORD;

¹⁶ Or suffer them to bear the iniquity of trespass, when they eat their holy things: for I the LORD do sanctify them.

¹⁷ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

¹⁸ Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Israel, and say to them, Whoever he may be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers in Israel, that will offer his oblation for all his vows, and for all his free-will-offerings, which they will offer to the LORD for a burnt-offering:

¹⁹ Ye shall offer at your own will a male without blemish of the beeves, of the sheep, or of the goats.

²⁰ But whatever hath a blemish, that shall ye not offer: for it shall not be acceptable for you.

²¹ And whoever offereth a sacrifice of peace-offerings to the LORD to accomplish his vow, or a free-will-offering in beeves, or sheep, it shall be perfect to be accepted: there shall be in it no blemish.

²² Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these to the LORD, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar to the LORD.

⁴ A man of the seed of Aaron that is leprous, either suffereth flowing out of seed, shall not eat of these things, that be hallowed to me, till he be healed. He that toucheth any unclean thing on a dead body, and from whom the seed as of lechery goeth out,

⁵ and that toucheth a creeping beast, and whatever unclean thing, whose touching is foul,

⁶ he shall be unclean till to eventide, and he shall not eat these things that be hallowed to me; but when he hath washed his flesh in water,

⁷ and the sun hath gone down, then he shall be cleansed, and shall eat hallowed things, for it is his meat.

⁸ He shall not eat a thing dead by itself, and taken of a beast, neither he shall be defouled in those things; I am the Lord.

⁹ They shall keep my behests, that they be not subject to sin, and die in the saintuary, when they have defouled it; I am the Lord that hallow you.

¹⁰ Each alien shall not eat of things hallowed; the hind that is a stranger, and the hired man of the priest, shall not eat of those things.

¹¹ Soothly these servants, that the priest hath bought, and he that is a born servant of his house, shall eat of those things.

¹² If the priest’s daughter is wedded to any man of the people, she shall not eat of these things that be hallowed, and of the first fruits;

¹³ soothly if she is a widow, either forsaken, and turneth again without free children to her father’s house, she shall be sustained by the meats of her father, as a damsel was wont; each alien hath not power to eat of those things.

¹⁴ He that eateth by ignorance of hallowed things, shall add to the fifth part with that that he ate, and he shall give it to the priest in the saintuary,

¹⁵ and they shall not defoul the hallowed things of the sons of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,

¹⁶ lest peradventure they suffer the wickedness of their trespass, when they have eaten the hallowed things; I am the Lord that hallow them.

¹⁷ The Lord spake to Moses, and said,

²⁰ if it hath a wem, ye shall not offer it, neither it shall be acceptable.

²¹ A man that offereth a sacrifice of peaceable things to the Lord, and either payeth avows or vows, either offereth by free will, as well of oxen as of sheep, he shall offer a beast without wem, that it be acceptable; no wem shall be therein.

²² If it is blind, if it is broken, if it hath a wound or a scar, if it hath whelks, either scab, either dry scab, ye shall not offer those beasts to the Lord, neither ye shall burn of those beasts upon the altar of the Lord.

²³ A man may offer willfully a sheep and an ox superfluous and diminished, that is, having a member superfluous, either failing a member; but a vow may not be paid of these beasts.

²⁴ Ye shall not offer to the Lord any beast, whose privy members be broken, either bruised, either cut, and taken away, and utterly ye shall not do these things in your land.

²⁵ Of the hand of an alien ye shall not offer loaves to your God, and whatever other thing he will give, for all things be corrupt and defouled; ye shall not receive those or them.

(Say thou to Aaron and to his sons, that they must treat with respect those things which the Israelites offer, or dedicate, to me, so that they do not defile my holy name; I am the Lord.)

³ Say thou to them, and to the after-comers of them, Each man of your kindred, that nigheth to those things that be hallowed, and which things the sons of Israel offered to the Lord, in whom is uncleanness, he shall perish before the Lord; I am the Lord. (Say thou to them, and to their after-comers, Anyone of your kindred, who is unclean, but still cometh near those things that be dedicated, yea, which things the Israelites have offered to the Lord, he shall never again be allowed to come before the Lord; I am the Lord.)

⁴ A man of the seed of Aaron that is leprous, either suffereth (the) flowing out of seed, shall not eat of these things, that be hallowed to me, till he be healed. He that toucheth an(y) unclean thing on a dead body, and from whom the seed as of lechery goeth out (or from whom the seed of lechery goeth out),

⁵ and that toucheth a creeping beast, and whatever unclean thing, whose touching is foul, (or who toucheth a creeping beast, or whatever unclean thing, whose touching is foul,)

⁶ he shall be unclean till to eventide, and he shall not eat these things that be hallowed to me; but when he hath washed his flesh in water,

⁷ and the sun hath gone down, then he shall be cleansed, and shall eat hallowed things, for it is his meat. (and the sun hath gone down, then he shall be clean, and he can eat the dedicated things, or the sacred offerings, for this is his food.)

⁸ He shall not eat a thing dead by itself, and taken of a beast, neither he shall be defouled in those things; I am the Lord. (He shall not eat anything that dieth naturally, or that is killed by a beast, so that he be not defiled with those things; I am the Lord.)

⁹ They shall keep my behests, that they be not subject to sin, and die in the saintuary, when they have defouled it; I am the Lord that hallow(eth) you. (They shall obey my commands, so that they be not subject to sin, and then die in the sanctuary, when they have defiled it; I am the Lord who maketh you holy.)

¹⁰ Each alien shall not eat of things hallowed; the hind that is a stranger, and the hired man of the priest, shall not eat of those things. (No one not of the priestly family shall eat any of the dedicated things; yea, even a visitor to the priest, or his hired man, shall not eat those things.)

¹¹ Soothly these servants, that the priest hath bought, and he that is a born servant of his house, shall eat of those things. (But those slaves, whom the priest hath bought, or he who is a slave born in his house, can eat those things.)

¹² If the priest’s daughter is wedded to any man of the people, she shall not eat of these things that be hallowed, and of the first fruits (or of the first fruits);

¹³ soothly if she is a widow, either forsaken, and turneth again without free children to her father’s house, she shall be sustained by the meats of her father, as a damsel was wont (to be); each alien hath not power to eat of those things. (but if she is a widow, or forsaken, and returneth to her father’s house without any children, she shall be sustained by her father’s food, as any young woman is wont to be; but no foreigner, or stranger, can eat those things.)

¹⁴ He that eateth by ignorance of hallowed things, shall add to (it) the fifth part with that that he ate, and he shall give it to the priest in the saintuary, (He who eateth any of the dedicated things in ignorance, shall add the fifth part to what he ate, and he shall give it to the priest in the sanctuary,)

¹⁵ and they shall not defoul the hallowed things of the sons of Israel, which they offer to the Lord,

¹⁶ lest peradventure they suffer the wickedness of their trespass, when they have eaten the hallowed things; I am the Lord that hallow them.

¹⁷ The Lord spake to Moses, and said,

¹⁸ Speak thou to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the sons of Israel, and thou shalt say to them, A man of the house of Israel, and of the comelings that dwell with them, that offereth his offering to the Lord, and either payeth avows, either offereth by his free will, whatever thing he offereth into burnt sacrifice of the Lord (or whatever thing he offereth for a burnt sacrifice to the Lord),

¹⁹ that it be offered by you, it shall be a male without wem, of oxen, and of sheep, and of goats; (that it be acceptable, ye shall offer a male without blemish, or without fault, of the oxen, or the sheep, or the goats;)

²⁰ if it hath a wem (or but if it hath a blemish, or a fault), ye shall not offer it, neither it shall be acceptable.

²¹ A man that offereth a sacrifice of peaceable things to the Lord, and either payeth avows, either offereth by free will, as well of oxen as of sheep, he shall offer a beast without wem, that it be acceptable; no wem shall be therein. (A man who offereth a peace offering to the Lord, whether he payeth a vow, or offereth by free will, whether of oxen or of sheep, he shall offer a beast without blemish, so that it be acceptable; yea, no blemish shall be upon it.)

²² If it is blind, if it is broken, if it hath a wound or a scar, if it hath whelks, either (a) scab, either (a) dry scab, ye shall not offer those beasts to the Lord, neither ye shall burn (any) of those beasts upon the altar of the Lord.

²³ A man may offer willfully a sheep and an ox (that hath anything) superfluous and diminished, that is, having a member superfluous, either failing a member; but a vow may not be paid of these beasts. (Someone may make a freewill offering of a sheep or of an ox that hath something superfluous, or something missing, that is, that hath an extra member, or is missing a member; but a vow cannot be satisfied with these beasts.)

²⁴ Ye shall not offer to the Lord any beast, whose privy members be broken, either bruised, either cut, and taken away, and utterly ye shall not do these things in your land (or ye shall never offer such a beast in your land).

²⁵ Of the hand of an alien ye shall not offer loaves to your God, and whatever other thing he will give, for all (their) things be corrupt and defouled; ye shall not receive those. (Ye shall not offer loaves to your God from the hand of a foreigner, or of a stranger, or any other thing that he shall give you, for all their things be corrupted and defiled; ye shall not take them.)

²⁶ And the Lord spake to Moses, and said,

² that thei be war of these thingis of the sones of Israel, whiche thingis ben halewid; and that they defoule not the name of thingis halewid to me, whiche thingis thei offren; Y am the Lord.

³ Seie thou to hem, and to the aftir comeris of hem, Ech man of youre kynrede, `which man neiyeth to tho thingis that ben halewid, and whiche thingis the sones of Israel offreden to the Lord, in `which man is vnclennesse, schal perische bifor the Lord; Y am the Lord.

⁴ A man of the seed of Aaron, `which man is leprouse, ethir suffrith `fletyng out of seed, schal not ete of these thingis, that ben halewid to me, til he be heelid. He that touchith an vncleene thing on a deed bodi, and fro whom the seed as of leccherie goith out, and which touchith a crepynge beeste,

⁵ and what euer vncleene thing, whos touchyng is foul,

⁶ schal be vncleene `til to euentid, and he schal not ete these thingis, that ben halewid to me; but whanne he hath waische his fleisch in watir,

⁷ and the sunne hath go doun, thanne he schal be clensid, and schal ete halewid thingis, for it is his mete.

⁸ He schal not ete a thing deed bi it silf, and takun of a beeste, nethir he schal be defoulid in tho; Y am the Lord.

⁹ Thei schulen kepe myn heestis, that thei be not suget to synne, and die in the seyntuarye, whanne thei han defoulid it; Y am the Lord that halewe you.

¹⁰ Ech alien schal not ete of thingis halewid; the hyne which is a straunger, and the hirid man of the preest, schulen not ete of tho. Sotheli these seruauntis,

¹¹ whom the preest hath bouyt, and which is a borun seruaunt of his hows, schulen ete of tho.

¹² If the `douyter of the preest is weddid to ony of the puple, sche schal not ete of these thingis that ben halewid, and of the firste fruytis;

¹³ sotheli if sche is a widewe, ether forsakun, and turneth ayen with out fre children to `the hows of hir fadir, sche schal be susteyned bi the metis of hir fadir, as a damysel was wont; ech alien hath not power to ete of tho.

¹⁴ He that etith bi ignoraunce of halewid thingis, schal adde the fyuethe part with that that he eet, and `schal yyue to the preest in seyntuarie,

¹⁵ and thei schulen not defoule the halewid thingis of the sones of Israel, whiche thei offren to the Lord,

¹⁶ lest perauenture thei suffren the wickidnesse of her trespas, whanne thei han ete halewid thingis; Y am the Lord that `halewe hem.

¹⁷ The Lord spak to Moises, and seide,

¹⁸ Speke thou to Aaron and to hise sones, and to alle the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, A man of the hous of Israel and of comelyngis that dwellen at hem, which offrith his offryng to the Lord, and ethir paieth avowis, ethir offrith bi his fre wille, what euer thing he offrith in to brent sacrifice of the Lord, that it be offrid bi you,

¹⁹ it schal be a male without wem, of oxen, and of scheep, and of geet; if it hath a wem,

²⁰ ye schulen not offre, nether it schal be acceptable.

²¹ A man that offrith a sacrifice of pesyble thingis to the Lord, and ethir paieth auowis, ethir offrith bi fre wille, as wel of oxun as of scheep, he schal offre a beeste without wem, that it be acceptable; ech wem schal not be ther ynne.

²² If it is blynd, if it is brokun, if it hath a scar, if it hath whelkis, ether scabbe, ethir drie scabbe, ye schulen not offre tho beestis to the Lord, nether ye schulen brenne of tho beestis on the auter of the Lord.

²³ A man may offre wilfuli an oxe and scheep, whanne the eere and tail ben kit of; but avow may not be paied of these beestis.

²⁴ Ye schulen not offre to the Lord ony beeste, whose priuy membris ben brokun, ethir brisid, ether kit, and takun awey, and outerli ye schulen not do these thingis in youre lond.

²⁵ Of `the hond of an alien ye schulen not offre looues to youre God, and what euer other thing he wole yyue, for alle thingis ben corrupt and defoulid; ye schulen not resseyue tho.

²⁶ And the Lord spak to Moises,

² 'Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and they are separated from the holy things of the sons of Israel, and they pollute not My holy name in what they are hallowing to Me; I am Jehovah.

³ 'Say unto them, To your generations, any man who draweth near, out of all your seed, unto the holy things which the sons of Israel do sanctify to Jehovah, and his uncleanness on him — even that person hath been cut off from before Me; I am Jehovah.

⁴ 'Any man of the seed of Aaron, and is leprous or hath an issue — of the holy things he doth not eat till that he is clean; and he who is coming against any uncleanness of a person, or a man whose seed of copulation goeth out from him,

⁵ or a man who cometh against any teeming thing which is unclean to him, or against a man who is unclean to him, even any of his uncleanness —

⁶ the person who cometh against it — hath even been unclean till the evening, and doth not eat of the holy things, but hath bathed his flesh with water,

⁷ and the sun hath gone in, and he hath been clean, and afterwards he doth eat of the holy things, for it is his food;

⁸ a carcase or torn thing he doth not eat, for uncleanness thereby; I am Jehovah.

⁹ 'And they have kept My charge, and bear no sin for it, that they have died for it when they pollute it; I am Jehovah sanctifying them.

¹⁰ 'And no stranger doth eat of the holy thing; a settler of a priest and an hireling doth not eat of the holy thing;

¹¹ and when a priest buyeth a person, the purchase of his money, he doth eat of it, also one born in his house; they do eat of his bread.

¹² 'And a priest's daughter, when she is a strange man's, — she, of the heave-offering of the holy things doth not eat;

¹³ and a priest's daughter, when she is a widow, or cast out, and hath no seed, and hath turned back unto the house of her father, as in her youth, of her father's bread she doth eat; but no stranger doth eat of it.

¹⁴ 'And when a man doth eat of a holy thing through ignorance, then he hath added its fifth part to it, and hath given it to the priest, with the holy thing;

¹⁵ and they do not pollute the holy things of the sons of Israel — that which they lift up to Jehovah,

¹⁶ nor have caused them to bear the iniquity of the guilt-offering in their eating their holy things; for I am Jehovah, sanctifying them.'

¹⁷ And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

¹⁸ 'Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, Any man of the house of Israel, or of the sojourners in Israel, who bringeth near his offering, of all his vows, or of all his willing offerings which they bring near to Jehovah for a burnt-offering;

¹⁹ at your pleasure a perfect one, a male of the herd, of the sheep or of the goats;

²⁰ nothing in which is blemish do ye bring near, for it is not for a pleasing thing for you.

²¹ 'And when a man bringeth near a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Jehovah, to complete a vow, or for a willing-offering, of the herd or of the flock, it is perfect for a pleasing thing: no blemish is in it;

²² blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed — ye do not bring these near to Jehovah, and a fire-offering ye do not make of them on the altar to Jehovah.

²³ 'As to an ox or a sheep enlarged or dwarfed — a willing-offering ye do make it, but for a vow it is not pleasing.

²⁴ As to a bruised, or beaten, or enlarged, or cut thing — ye do not bring it near to Jehovah; even in your land ye do not do it.

²⁵ And from the hand of a son of a stranger ye do not bring near the bread of your God, of any of these, for their corruption is in them; blemish is in them; they are not pleasing for you.'

²⁶ And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
