³ After the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do; neither shall ye walk in their statutes.

⁴ Mine ordinances shall ye do, and my statutes shall ye keep, to walk therein: I am Jehovah your God.

⁵ Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and mine ordinances; which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am Jehovah.

⁶ None of you shall approach to any that are near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness: I am Jehovah.

⁷ The nakedness of thy father, even the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

⁸ The nakedness of thy father’s wife shalt thou not uncover; it is thy father’s nakedness.

⁹ The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or the daughter of thy mother, whether born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover.

⁶ No man shall draw nigh to any of his near kindred to uncover their nakedness; I am the Lord.

³ So you must do what I want you to do; you must not do the things that the people in Egypt, where you lived previously, do; and you must not do what is done by the people in Canaan, the land to which I am taking you. Do not imitate their behavior.

⁴ You must obey all of my laws DOU, because it is I, Yahweh your God, who am commanding those laws.

⁵ If you obey all my laws and decrees, you will continue to remain alive for a long time. I, Yahweh, am the one who is promising that to you. These are some of my laws:

⁶ Do not have sex with any of your close relatives. It is I, Yahweh, who am commanding that.

⁷ Do not disgrace your father by having sex with your mother DOU.

⁸ Do not have sex with any of your father's other wives, because that would disgrace your father.

⁹ Do not have sex with your sister or your stepsister; it does not matter whether she was born in your house or somewhere else.

¹⁰ Do not have sex with your granddaughter, because that would disgrace you.

¹¹ Do not have sex with your half-sister, because she is your sister.

¹² Do not have sex with your father's sister, because she is your father's close relative.

¹³ Do not have sex with your mother's sister, because she is your mother's close relative.

¹⁴ Do not disgrace your ◄uncle/father's brother►by having sex with his wife, because she is your aunt.

¹⁵ Do not have sex with DOU your daughter-in-law, because she is your son's wife.

¹⁶ Do not have sex with your brother's wife, because that would disgrace your brother.

¹⁷ Do not have sex with the daughter or granddaughter of any woman whom you have previously had sex with; they are her (OR, your) close relatives. Having sex with any of them would be a wicked thing to do.

⁴ But you are to be guided by my decisions and keep my rules, and be guided by them: I am the Lord your God.

⁵ So keep my rules and my decisions, which, if a man does them, will be life to him: I am the Lord.

⁶ You may not have sex connection with anyone who is a near relation: I am the Lord.

⁷ You may not have sex relations with your father or your mother: she is your mother, you may not take her.

⁸ And you may not have sex relations with your father's wife: she is your father's.

⁹ You may not take your sister, the daughter of your father or of your mother, wherever her birth took place, among you or in another country.

¹⁰ You may not have sex relations with your son's daughter or your daughter's daughter, for they are part of yourself;

¹¹ Or your father's wife's daughter, the child of your father, for she is your sister.

¹² You may not have sex connection with your father's sister, for she is your father's near relation.

¹³ You may not have sex connection with your mother's sister, for she is your mother's near relation.

¹⁴ You may not have sex relations with the wife of your father's brother, for she is of your family;

¹⁵ Or with your daughter-in-law, for she is your son's wife, and you may not take her.

¹⁶ You may not have sex relations with your brother's wife, for she is your brother's.

¹⁷ You may not take as wife a woman and her daughter, or her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter, for they are of one family: it is an act of shame.

¹⁴ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother: neither shalt thou approach to his wife, who is joined to thee by affinity.

¹⁵ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: because she is thy son’s wife, neither shalt thou discover her shame.

¹⁶ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s wife: because it is the nakedness of thy brother.

¹⁷ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy wife and her daughter. Thou shalt not take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to discover her shame: because they are her flesh, and such copulation is incest.

³ Don't follow the ways of Egypt where you used to live, and don't follow the ways of Canaan where I'm going to take you. Don't adopt their practices.

⁴ Do what I tell you and keep my rules. I am the Lord your God.

⁵ If you keep my rules and do what I tell you, you will live. I am the Lord.

⁶ Don't have sex with a close relative.

⁷ Don't shame your father by having sex with your mother. She is your mother; don't have sex with her.

⁸ Don't have sex with any of your father's wives and shame your father.

⁹ Don't have sex with your sister, whether she's your father's daughter or your mother's daughter, or whether she was born in the same house as you or somewhere else.

¹⁰ Don't have sex with your granddaughter, your son's daughter or your daughter's daughter, because that would be shameful thing for you.

¹¹ Don't have sex with the daughter of any of your father's wives and your father, she is your sister.

¹² Don't have sex with your father's sister. She is a close relative of your father.

¹³ Don't have sex with your mother's sister. She is a close relative of your mother.

¹⁴ Don't bring shame on your uncle by having sex with his wife. She is your aunt.

¹⁵ Don't have sex with your daughter-in-law. She is your son's wife. Don't have sex with her.

¹⁶ Don't have sex with your brother's wife and bring shame on your brother.

¹⁷ Don't have sex with both a woman and her daughter. Don't have sex with her son's daughter or her daughter's daughter. They are her close relatives. That is something I loathe.

⁵ You shall therefore keep my statutes and my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them. I am the LORD.

⁶ “‘None of you shall approach any close relatives, to uncover their nakedness: I am the LORD.

⁷ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father, nor the nakedness of your mother: she is your mother. You shall not uncover her nakedness.

⁸ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife. It is your father’s nakedness.

⁹ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home or born abroad.

¹⁰ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your son’s daughter, or of your daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness; for theirs is your own nakedness.

¹¹ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s wife’s daughter, conceived by your father, since she is your sister.

¹² “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s sister. She is your father’s near kinswoman.

¹³ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister, for she is your mother’s near kinswoman.

¹⁴ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your father’s brother. You shall not approach his wife. She is your aunt.

¹⁵ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law. She is your son’s wife. You shall not uncover her nakedness.

¹⁶ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of your brother’s wife. It is your brother’s nakedness.

¹⁷ “‘You shall not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter. You shall not take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness. They are near kinswomen. It is wickedness.

³ ye shall not do by the custom of the land of Egypt, in which ye dwelled; ye shall not do by the custom of the land of Canaan, to which I shall bring you in, neither ye shall go in the lawful things of them, that is, in their custom of worshipping.

⁴ Ye shall do my dooms, and ye shall keep my behests, and ye shall go in them; I am your Lord God.

⁷ Thou shalt not discover the filth-hood of thy father, and the filthhood of thy mother; she is thy mother, thou shalt not show her filthhood.

⁸ Thou shalt not uncover the filth-hood of the wife of thy father, for it is the filthhood of thy father.

⁹ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of thy sister, of father, either of mother, which sister is begotten at home, that is, in wedlock, either withoutforth, that is, out of wedlock.

¹⁰ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of the daughter of thy son, either of thy niece, that is, the daughter of thy daughter, for it is thy filthhood.

¹¹ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of the daughter of the wife of thy father, which she childed to thy father, and she is thy sister.

¹² Thou shalt not open the filthhood of thy father’s sister, for she is the flesh of thy father.

¹³ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of the sister of thy mother, for she is the flesh of thy mother.

¹⁴ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of the brother of thy father, neither thou shalt nigh to his wife, that is joined to thee by affinity.

¹⁵ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of thy son’s wife, for she is the wife of thy son, neither thou shalt discover her shame; and no man take his brother’s wife.

¹⁶ Thou shalt not show the filth-hood of thy brother’s wife, for it is the filthhood of thy brother.

¹⁷ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of a woman, and of her daughter; thou shalt not take the daughter of her son, and the daughter of her daughter, that thou show her shame; they be the flesh of her, and such lechery is incest, that is, lechery of them that be kin.

¹⁴ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of the brother of thy father, neither thou shalt nigh to his wife, that is joined to thee by affinity. (Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, that is, thou shalt not come near to his wife, for she is joined to thee by affinity.)

¹⁵ Thou shalt not show the filthhood of thy son’s wife, for she is the wife of thy son, neither thou shalt discover her shame; and no man take his brother’s wife. (Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy son’s wife, for she is thy son’s wife, so thou shalt not uncover her nakedness; and no man shall take his brother’s wife to bed.)

⁴ Ye schulen do my domes, and ye schulen kepe myn heestis, and ye schulen go in tho; Y am youre Lord God.

⁷ Thou schalt not diskyuere the filthe of thi fadir and the filthe of thi modir; sche is thi modir, thou schalt not schewe hir filthe.

⁸ Thou schalt not vnhile the filthe of the wijf of thi fadir, for it is the filthe of thi fadir.

⁹ Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sistir, of fadir `ether of modir, which sister is gendrid at hoome ether without forth.

¹⁰ Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of thi sone, ether of neece of thi douyter, for it is thi filthe.

¹¹ Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of the wijf of thi fadir, which sche childide to thi fadir, and is thi sistir.

¹² Thou schalt not opene the filthe of the `sister of thi fadir, for sche is the fleisch of thi fadir.

¹³ Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the sistir of thi modir, for sche is the fleisch of thi modir.

¹⁴ Thou schalt not shewe the filthe of the brothir of thi fadir, nethir thou schalt neiye to his wijf, which is ioyned to thee bi affinyte.

¹⁵ Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sones wijf, for sche is the wijf of thi sone, nether thou schalt diskiuere hir schenschip; and no man take his brotheris wijf.

¹⁶ Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of `the wijf of thi brother, for it is the filthe of thi brothir.

¹⁷ Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi wijf, and of hir douyter; thou schalt not take the douytir of hir sone, and the douytir of hir douyter, that thou schewe hir schenschip; thei ben the fleisch of hir, and siche letcherie is incest.

³ according to the work of the land of Egypt in which ye have dwelt ye do not, and according to the work of the land of Canaan whither I am bringing you in, ye do not, and in their statutes ye walk not.

⁴ 'My judgments ye do, and My statutes ye keep, to walk in them; I am Jehovah your God;

⁵ and ye have kept My statutes and My judgments which man doth and liveth in them; I am Jehovah.

⁷ 'The nakedness of thy father and the nakedness of thy mother thou dost not uncover, she is thy mother; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

⁸ 'The nakedness of the wife of thy father thou dost not uncover; it is the nakedness of thy father.

⁹ 'The nakedness of thy sister, daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, born at home or born without; thou dost not uncover their nakedness.

¹⁰ 'The nakedness of thy son's daughter, or of thy daughter's daughter: thou dost not uncover their nakedness; for theirs is thy nakedness.

¹¹ 'The nakedness of a daughter of thy father's wife, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

¹² 'The nakedness of a sister of thy father thou dost not uncover; she is a relation of thy father.

¹³ 'The nakedness of thy mother's sister thou dost not uncover; for she is thy mother's relation.

¹⁴ 'The nakedness of thy father's brother thou dost not uncover; unto his wife thou dost not draw near; she is thine aunt.

¹⁵ 'The nakedness of thy daughter-in-law thou dost not uncover; she is thy son's wife; thou dost not uncover her nakedness.

¹⁶ 'The nakedness of thy brother's wife thou dost not uncover; it is thy brother's nakedness.
